User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The first thing students would notice as they entered was the stench. It was foul and rank, a mix of decomposing organic matter, sulfur, smoke, mildew, things they might have smelled in the other bathroom- all rolled into one package. Along the walls hug various dead animals in various states of discomposure. And if they looked closely enough, they might notice that many of these animals had not only claw marks or slices cut off, but large chunks missing from the flesh, taken in what looked to be a bite.

Sand and soot coats the majority of the floor open, though where the small, flat makeshift boards of broken wood sat, a dirty frayed carpet would keep them from sitting in sand and… questionable material. On the small boards, there is a sheet of semi yellowed paper, the edges a bit frayed, accompanied by a crude brush made of hair, a twig and twine. Two small, capped jars sit next to the brush. One a very deep almost mold like green, the other a deep black. There are no books to be found, and the only charts they would see are those of maps with certain locations marked off, chicken scratch notes under each location, a tiny drawing occasional as well.

Two large tables sit on eather side of front of the ‘class room’. One table to the student’s left is covered with jars upon jars of various materials. Some dead, some very much alive. Each one labeled in the same chicken scratch text. The other table has what they might recognize to be an alchemist’s traditional work station. Beakers, tubes, filtration and purification systems, all lit, the final end of it’s work coming to a halt at a small vial, holding only a few drop of a glowing yellow liquid.

The sound of small bells can be heard from behind a makeshift curtain, as well as the cries of what sounds to be a large dog. Bells, yelps, cries, ring out in the tent on occasion before finally, they fall silent. A single being emerges from behind the curtain, a bloody liver in one hand, and bag in the other. The clatter of his exposed bones replace the bells, and with his free hand, he reaches into the translucent sack that is his stomach, pulling out a dusty tome. “Well.” There is a clatter that comes from his mouth, two tiny insect like mandibles exposing themselves as he speaks. “Sit. Hopefully you all can figure how to do that much.”

The students sat, and the horseman watched them, eyes occasionally rolling in his head. As the buzz of students dies down, the buzz of insects rise up in the background, something moving outside. It is replaced by sound of a gag as suddenly, the horseman for a lack of a better term, began to vomit up a small handful of moths- nothing else. These moths scattered around the room, landing on various old papers, empty jars. A few taking a liking to the papers on a desk. As far as the horseman is concerned, this is nothing unusual. “Pardon, my darlings wished to have some time…roaming.” One large moth in particular landed on his head, tiny layer of moth dust falling to his shoulders.

“So.” He began, bringing the still fresh, raw liver to his mouth. “You have come to take-“ a bite, and blood rolled down his chin, staining the dirty cloth wrapped around his neck “-a class. On Alchemy.” His disdain was evident in the way the mandibles clattered together and a hiss escaped him. “I do not teach classes. I teach a way of life. That said, I will teach you. The more minds the better. Or is that moths?” His voice suddenly turned into a light clicking. “Never mind. Anyway, I am Bulbous Rex. Your…” he sighed, “instructor. While I admit I am hesitant in the idea any of you might grasp the art of Alchemy, I have been proven wrong before. Delightfully so, haven’t we my dears?” The moths do not move, but one on his head moved to his shoulder like a beloved familiar might.

“Now, first things first, that paper brush and ink? Notes. Take them.”The jars he didn’t mention smelled quite putrid.

“Before we get into the actual process, let me give you a brief summary of just what is it I, what we of my kin, do. Alchemy comes in two basic forms. Constructive and destructive. You have one guess at which is harder and the hint is destructive. Almost anyone will a little bit of skill and ruin a crop, but to raise that crop, to bring it to a full lush harvest? That needs a bit more. I will not be teaching how to blight a crop or poison a field. How to rot flesh from bone or how to siphon an enemy’s FEAR. Nor, will I be teaching you how to kill without ever lifting a claw. I will, for the instruction of destructive alchemy, be teaching how to create a ward stone. An object that hampers one’s FEAR. For better or worse. For those who might be-“ a groan “-familiar with protection charms, they work somewhat similarly. They lessen the FEAR one might take in or use. They are good to slow the process of FEAR healing, or to prevent an enemy from gaining strength and using their FEAR born gifts. Do know what you will be making is only temporary. I was told having grubs like yourselves running around with such things, weak as they might be, could be hazardous. Personally I think it would just be an effective method of culling.”

The moth crawled it’s way into his lap and he stroked it’s wings, almost affectionately. “On the other side of this art we have the way of constructive alchemy. More complex a subject. Bolstering one’s FEAR intake, healing, harvesting…” Mandibles clicked together excitedly. “Usually we use our skill to take human objects and alter them. Make them usable for us. That is, we change them into FEAR. The living, the dead, all things can become FEAR, this is our belief. This is one of our goals. But that is another subject. Today you will be creating FEAR Reeds.” The moth flew from the horseman’s lap to the desk, picking up a small seed in the shape of a skull. “That, grublings is a dead seed. A small concentration of FEAR inscribed with the potential to produce even more FEAR. They provide an extra boost to one’s power when raised and harvested properly. You’ll all be just getting a weak thing so, I’m not too worried about you grubs breaking anything of value.” The moth flew back to Bulbous, and then like it was no big deal, he allowed it to crawl in his mouth and make it’s way into his stomach. The wings flicking through the semi translucent skin, along with what looked to be a half decomposed human skull.

OOC

--> Quote 'iStoleYurVamps' When trying to get Bulbous's attention. Otherwise I might miss your post/question.
--> Keep track of your own score please. I'll be keeping a list myself but please do keep track on your own in case of any mistakes.
--> Pay attention to deadlines! If a day's task is closed ad the next day's task is posted, you cannot go back to complete the task. Due to the nature of the class, (one that builds upon itself), if you miss a day then you'll get a flat progress to the next step.
--> If you really have no time to RP, you can roll and put a place holder in until you can edit in your RP response (this will prevent a flat progress), but if you fail to fill out an RP response by the end of the day you will not get OOC credit.

“Now, first things first, come up and-“ Standing, he went behind the back curtain, returning with a box filled with a much smaller, miniature, set of vials and liquids “get your supplies. You will all need an alchemist set but choose a dead seed or, a blank ward stone. Not both. I don’t want to get a complaint that you killed yourself out of ignorance. After-“
Walking to the back again, he returned with a large wall scroll which he proceeded to hang from the ceiling. “Follow these instructions. We will see how well you all do from there.”

He sighed, going to the wall, muttering to the moth on it about ‘weak grubs’ and ‘her highness’ and even odder, about ‘the rats’. Occasionally he looks back, as if wait for something.

Task of Day 1
OOC: Go up and pick either the constructive alchemy set or the destructive alchemy set. Post your choice at the bottom of your post in bold along with score.

About the Alchemist sets they are using:
The sets are made of dirty, sometimes cracked glass. They come with various ingredients (you can make them up but please nothing human!) though, the ingredients are unlabeled. Some are in small vials, other in small pouches. The ‘fires’ students are using are small FEAR activated ‘hotplates’. The ‘scroll’ hanging from the ceiling shows how to set up the alchemy sets. Think of them like mini chemist sets

Quote:
Constructive:
-place the seed in a dish and after setting up
-Roll 8D4 to determine which oils are fused, (can be made up, nothing human please). For every EVEN number you roll, your seed gains +1 bonus, the bonus caps out at 4 however.
-Roll 1 d100 to determine if your seed is just a flat ‘dud’ (Result must be 90-100 to be considered a 'dud')

Quote:
Destructive:
-Place runestone in a jar and set it over the burner.
-Roll 1 d100 to determine the temperature.
1-25: +1
36-50: +2
51-75: +3
76-100: +4
-Roll 1 d100 to determine if your stone is just a flat ‘dud’ (Result must be 90-100 to be considered a 'dud')

I GOT A DUD WHAT DO? Well, it is a mystery really, (do not worry, depending on class level at the end of the day you guys will get something tomorrow ;D) Note: Duds will just show no change, just the like ones that are not duds. BY THE NEXT DAY HOWEVER, duds will have fallen apart/broken down.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. They had been dismissed with a flippant wave of Bulbous’s hand and now they were back, much to his obvious displeasure. Today the class was much of the same, only their instructor had traded the alchemist sets for other materials. Pots, dirt piles, inks and brushes, all laid scattered haphazardly. Not to mention, their ‘desks’, (if the flat planks of wood could be called that) had nothing on them. Two scrolls were on the walls hung, ragged and yellowed with age. One them, the same scrawled print from yesterday, only these instructions were more… pictures than words. “I hope you all brought whatever sorry excuse for a dead seed or ward stone you made yesterday because I really don’t want to have to get things out for you. Again.” A clacking came from his jaw as wings could be seen fluttering rabidly in his stomach.

“Now, IF you had the misfortune to utterly fail at your first attempt or for whatever reason chose to just not have one, you’ll still be able to attempt some excuse at alchemy with the extras I have laying about. You won’t get the choice of what you get however. Mostly because I’ve found that if you fail at one aspect, you might not flounder so much at the other. But, there have been…rare events.” A shrug as he reached into his gut to pull out a half eaten leg of what looked to be kirinni. A crunch as he snapped open the bone, a fine silvery dust pouring out into his hand. The meat was simply left to hang. “Now, depending on what you created we shall put it into what I like to call the dormant stage. At this phase of alchemy, we have the inscribed base, but, it is still fairly weak. It cannot give more nor truly take as they are supposed to when fully mature. In fact to put it bluntly, they’re prone to failing catastrophically if used at this stage. So we must let them lie dormant to ripen. Oh speaking of ripe-“

Going to the back, he returns with what looks like the rotting flesh and skin of minipets. “You’ll all be needing some of these. That aside, the procedure is fairly simple. For destructive, you will be taking your ward stone and wrapping it up with certain skins that have runes written in various substances on them. For constructive you will be planting your seed in soil filled with a few items-“ the dust he had collected in his hand was then shoved back into his gut, the moths inside flying erratically and glowing from the looks of it “- which will be soaked into your seed. Once done, you will place them on the mat just behind me, all you need to do is make sure they are in the circle.”
A cough and a small glowing moth flew out from him before landing on the rotting minipets. The mat the teacher had pointed to was just in front of the covered back and if one listened closely, they might hear what sounded like whispers.

“That said, don’t kill yourselves.” Bulbous simply went to the corner on the work station, half reading a tome he picked up from the floor, half watching the students.

Task of Day 2
IF YOU GOT A DUD LAST CLASS/DID NOT ROLL:
There are two small bins with pre-made ward stones. These start with the base bonus of 1

Destructive

Step 1: roll 3 d4 for skins/runes (if you roll two of the same number, you just have 2 of that skin/rune)
1- Unknown skin, rune written in blood
2- Salamander skin, rune written in charcoal
3- Bear hide, rune written in Chalk
4- Lamb skin, rune written in Coffee

Step 2: Grab a type of rotting minipet and wrap it with your wardstone
Types possible: Foxfire, leviathia, scareon, corrividus

Once finished go to the front of the class and drop off your ward stone with: Starting bonus from yesterday, what skins used, and what minipet used in BOLD RED at the bottom of your post.

Constructive

Step 1: Grab a type of rotting minipet and place it at the bottom of the pot
Types possible: Foxfire, leviathia, scareon, corrividus

Step 2: Roll 3 d4 to get waters to soak your soil in. (If you roll doubles you will just have 2 of that oil)
1- Green oil, runs like water
2-Yellow oil, runs a little slower than water
3-Brown oil, slow and thick
4-Red oil, it comes in globs
You’ll be planting the seed in a small handheld clay pot, the oils acting as water. Which will soak into the earth.

Once finished go to the front of the class and drop off your planted dead seed with: Starting bonus from yesterday, what skins used, and what minipet used in BOLD RED at the bottom of your post.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Another day, another class, and the teacher still looked unimpressed and unamused. The desks were only held one object, a tiny needle on a small strip of oddly clean cloth. On the tables larger pots with soil and a small cage of what looked to be, (oddly alive), fat scareons were the items of today’s lesson. “Hurry up.” He barked, a moth on his head flapping it’s wings, dust flying around the teacher. “I haven’t got all day” Fussing with the scarf around his neck a few moths flew around him, dusting him as well, and it seemed to calm him as he took a deep breath in, dust and all. “Alright. Yes. We cannot ignore our duty, yes? Yes.”He seemed to have been speaking to the moths rather than students. Huffing, the ward stones and plants were where students had left them, and he looked ready to address them. “Today is a rather… good day given your lessons are half over and today is the day you infuse part of your FEAR to that which you have created. This step ensures that you and you alone can reap what you sew. Or that your ward stone will only work for you. In large scale productions this step is often replaced by a general FEAR based infusion that has been filtered of… impurities.” He may have given the students a look. He may have considered them impure. Or maybe he didn’t like the fact they were in his tent or something. Bulbous wasn’t really friendly in any case.

“It’s perhaps the most difficult step for some as it requires you to have absolute focus. You mess it up you WILL get hurt. Not to mention, you will have ruined perfectly good materials and wasted my time. Thankfully, since this course is for beginners such as yourselves I don’t expect much. At worst one of you is moronic and kills us all. But that is really, at the absolute worst. “ The moths began to fly around the room, dusting the students.
“Both constructive and destructive alchemy follows the same task, now do remember, we want more output than our input. Since this the bonding stage of alchemy, the goal isn’t to put more FEAR into it, but to simply tie it to the one who wishes to harvest it. You will be doing this by blood. And before you grubs get stab happy, you only need three drops! Three! No more, no less, and no trying to use your fear while bleeding or so the queen help me I will-“ the moth on his head dusted him again and he sighed. “Simply infuse you fear and then we will ready it for harvest. Those with destructive ward stones will be attaching them to special minipets and tomorrow you will see the results. Those with constructive will be replanting their dead seeds in a larger pot. Simple? Yes. Easy? Not really. You’ll find out why.”

MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR SCORES WITH THE PREVIOUS DAY TALLIES
Step 1: (Both)

-Remove your wardstone from it’s wrappings, (they will all now be glowing a light gold), or pull up you dead seed, (which will look like a small skeleton).
-Taking Back your ward stone or dead seed you need to give it some of your blood. Using the needle, p***k whatever part you like and drop some onto your ward stone/dead seed. RNG 1-5. However many numbers OFF you are from 3, subtract that from your total score. (IE, I get 5, I subtract 2 from my score).

Step 2: (Destructive)

Applying your ward stone and to the fat scareon subject. The stone fits into the collars they wear.
Roll 1 d4 and check your results:
1- Not very good… It falls off a few times.(-1)
2- Okay… But it’s not the most secure (no change)
3- Good, it’s on and doesn’t look likely to fall off. (no change)
4- Very good, it’s secure and you get the feeling the scareon is not happy with what you’ve just done. (+1)

Step 2: (Constructive)

R-planting your dead seed in it’s new container.
Roll 1 d4 and check your results:
1- Not very good… Your seed is a bit exposed.(-1)
2- Okay… but you could have done a bit better really. And made less of a mess. (no change)
3- Good. No mess. You didn’t screw it up. It’s planted. Yay you.(no change)
4- Very good, the seed is not only planted but you’re sure you felt a pulse of FEAR from it. (+1)

Once finished go to the front of the class put your seed on the table or scareon back in the cage. Post in BOLD RED at the bottom of your post Your current bonus total

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The final day and yet- The teacher had cleared the desks from the seating area, and all that remained were the scareons and the plants, which had now sprouted into tall reeds. Bright and vivid red, a crackling gold pattern on them. The scareons looked to be in much worse shape. Some looked to be nothing more than bones. Overall, it seemed like they had done a good job, but the way Bulbous was looking at them, he was not congratulating them just yet.
“I must say,” he began, a single moth, small and tiny circling his head. “I did not expect anything to happen. So I am… pleased with the results thus far. But creating something effective is only good if it can be used. In the case of ward stones, how long might they retain their effectiveness and if they might backfire on you. In the case of dead seeds, if you can harvest the reeds you grow and not let FEAR go wasted. The reason I said yesterday’s task would be most important? Because now you reap what you sew. Fetch the scareons and plants, and take a second to guess how well you did.”

As the students gathered their things he smiled, “Alright now getting to harvest your results is fairly simple, but also simple to ruin. For those with ward stones-“ reaching over he grabbed an extra scareon, one that looked like it would break from the lack of anything, it was all skin and bones, “-p***k your finger and remove the stone, it is that simple. But make sure you don’t bloody it up. Just a small p***k. You’ll notice a small jagged edge on the collars are made just for this reason. Do not be forceful. Trust me on this.” A jagged rip, and the scareon and wards stone both exploded, though the horseman looked unharmed. The empty cage however, had been flung into the wall. “Yes. And unlike you, I have experience with these things. Please do not have this happen. Should your ward stone crack, leave it. It is broken and I will need to remove it.”

A clatter of bones and moths flew from the back cleaning up the bits of scareon. “As for those with dead seeds. Your seeds have sprouted reeds that can be used in harvest, ripe with FEAR in a natural near raw form.” Grabbing the spare one he slid a finger up the side. “Use the plant edge to cut your finger. It is worth note that on a large scale, as we need to activate one with the base fear to activate the others. Now, a bit of blood having woken the plant, gently pull it free by the root. If all goes well, you will have a delicious snack, if not,-“ He ripped up the plant, which quickly turned to ash. “Your efforts will have been in vain. When you all are done, please leave your reeds and stones on the mat. They will be returned to you at a later date."

Task of the Final Day
Step one (Both)

Spill some blood to ready the removal of the final product. Roll 1d8 to determine success.
1-7-Huzzah! You nicked yourself and let a drop or two hit the reed/stone. Time to pull it out
8- You cut deep and a lot of blood got on it….. not good (-2 score)

Step two (Destructive)

Pull the ward stone free of the collar. Upon successful removal, let the scareon go, (or rather, let it crawl it’s way to freedom) Roll 1 d6
1: You try to pull it out and well. Good job. You blew up your scareon and have taken a blow of 1/2 your HP. Talk about pain! (Failed)
2: You manage to pull it out but it‘s glow seems to have faded (-1 from score)
3-4: You manage to pry it free. Good job!
5: You manage to pull it out but it‘s glow seems to have faded (-1 from score)
6: You try to pull it out but… it cracked. You’ll have to leave the scareon with Bulbous. (Failed?)

Step two (Constructive)

Remove the plant… gently. Roll 1 d6
1: You pull it out to hard and fast and- well. Not painful but your reed is now ash. (Failed)
2: You pulled it out but snapped the reed in half, making it lose some color (-1 from score)
3-4: Good job, the reed is bright and ripe with FEAR!
5: You pulled it out but snapped the reed in half, making it lose some color (-1 from score)
6: You pulled it out but it seems to have suddenly lost all color (Failed?)

Malodore had shuffled into the classroom with fascination - while the scent was foul, sometimes one had to get dirty to learn, and it wasn't above plunging itself neck-deep in rot for the sake of knowledge (as long as it could have a long bath afterwards). The specimens were most intriguing; clearly, their instructor was conducting an investigation into decay and decomposition, a subject most undead had at least passing knowledge of.

The plague doctor wanted to investigate the tables, desperately, but decorum kept it from doing so. The sudden shrieks of pain sent a jolt of mixed eagerness and anxiety through it - the eagerness from curiosity and fascination, the anxiety from the sounds' source being evidently canine. It knew too many canines to be entirely at ease with the sound of canine anguish. And then... then their instructor arrived.

Incredible.

Malodore obediently sat down with a thump, keeping its gaze fixed on the Horseman as long as it dared. Anyone who carried around organs was automatically on the plague doctor's really intriguing people list. Anyone who did that while also carrying living beings around in his belly as if it were entirely normal...

... well. If Nurse Cricket hadn't already had bugs of her own, there would be some serious competition here.

It did not care about how bad the ink smelled. What mattered was that it take all the notes. All of them. It wrote down as many of Bulbous' words as it possibly could. Constructive, destructive... it had always considered harm and health to be two sides of the same coin, and it was pleased that the Horseman seemed to share that view. Malodore was utterly entranced.

When the time came to select which task to study, the plague doctor went right for the small seed. The task set that the Horseman labeled 'Constructive' was, after all, its first calling. The equipment and ingredients it had been given were obviously worn and a bit messy - pity, that, a clean laboratory was a happy laboratory - but it was still fascinated despite that faint disappointment.

Malodore carefully put its seed in a dish, then turned to the ingredients it had been given, opening each small tin, pouch, and vial and inspecting each one individually. There were so many things to choose from, and so few it could actually identify... but it decided to stick with the few ingredients it already knew. Strangleweed oil and heartheal essence - the first was sourced in a plant that grew with incredible vigor, so with any luck its oil also possessed an inclination towards vitality. The second was fairly obvious, just from the name. Or so it hoped.

Malodore stared at its seed with great intensity as the oils infused themselves. Nothing bad appeared to be happening? That was good?

Rafael took a longer time finding his way to his seat than he should have. Maybe it was because there was just so much to look at! Every few seconds he was distracted by something else.

When he finally did make his way do his seat, he peered around at his fellow students. It was strange to recognize their faces, almost as though they were all old friends.

The horseman, on the other hand...well, Rafe wasn't quite sure how to feel about him. Or any of the Famine people, for that matter. They freaked him out, and he could swear he kept hearing something about rats; that put him on edge.

He took notes as best he could, but quickly found that he had very little idea of what to do. Instead, he decided to watch Malodore and do everything that the plague doctor was doing. After all, Rafe reasoned, Malodore was older, smarter and interested in science.

Copying his every move was sure to yield positive results, right?

Rafael chose his materials and made his way back to his desk, craning his neck to keep an eye on what the plague doctor was doing. It didn't occur to him to be worried that he was cheating. Being home-schooled, Rafael had never had an opportunity to cheat in his life and it never even crossed his mind now. He was just trying to do whatever it took to make sure his creation didn't blow up in his face -- literally.

Unfortunately, he seemed to be missing some ingredients. Or, anyway, he had different things in his pouch than Malodore did. Bah! So much for following the older student's method directly!

He held up some weird, slimy-looking pod between two clawed fingers and examined it from all angles, trying to figure out what in the world it was.

Sighing, he decided maybe he'd better just go with it and dropped it into his dish. When he was finished, he pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and squinted at his concoction.

Well....it didn't seem to be exploding, or hissing, or smoking or anything. That was a success, right?

The moment Clyde stepped into the class, he had immediately contemplated rather to hold his breath or continue breathing and rush out the door the moment it ended. Neither seemed like good ideas right now so he decided to suck it up and took a sit near the middle. He probably would have just felt fine with the class if only the instructor had not released a huge load of moths in their general direction from his mouth.

Fascinating how he could keep so many in his body, disgusting how one nearly flew into his open stomach.

He tried to keep up with the note taking, missing a couple of points here and there for not writing fast enough. Maybe he can try to get what he missed later.

Once again meeting face to face with a troupe of ingredients at his disposal, the varcolac could only hope that it would not fail like his training had earlier. Clyde did give a slight look at everyone else working on their own alchemy set before staring at the seed in his possession. Everyone was doing pretty well with their respective set, it should be fine.

Picking out a couple of vials and jars from the set, Clyde placed it aside so he could put the seed into his dish. He watched, hoping for success, as the strange liquids fused with the seed.

The seed didn’t seem to react hazardously in anyway. Did he succeed?

Perhaps it was for the best that Aleria's sense of smell was not particularly keen. The presence was overwhelming as soon as Aleria entered the lab, the corners of their eyes stinging.

Peering around the room, the demon took in the surroundings, amazed by the amount of ingredients and materials laying about. They swept up their coat, so that it would not brush against the sand, curling up on one of the carpets.

The tinkling of bells are a comfort, and even as the teacher vomited up a series of moths.

This clan was truly fascinating-- they were intrinsically tied to the earth. Plants, insects, earth hovels-- they sorely wished for a series of books to read about the culture, wishing to absorb the knowledge.

Instead, Aleria settled for taking notes, wincing as they opened the jar, deciding almost immediately that they would be studying constructive alchemy.

The demon pressed a seed into the dish with delicate fingers, moving carefully. The oils were numerous, ranging from Silken Sweet oil to Firefox Limbic Oil, getting just enough of them to fuse nicely.

Perhaps Vaith hadn't been entirely sure what he was getting into. The thought of Famine's class was much more idealized and naive than the real thing. He could barely keep down his stomach as he walked into the room, the reaper paling under his tan. The acrid scent of all the decomposing animals, including the rank odor of those alive .. his throat caught itself, his hand suddenly covering his mouth. It wasn't an odor usually found in Amityville, the reaper had never been exposed to the situations .. and it was difficult adjusting. Breath in, breath out .. That was the only way to get used to the classroom they would have to occupy for the week.

He held the paper and brush in the palm of his hands, gingerly, like a delicate necklace that would break. It was as if the noise reaper thought it was gonna disintegrate by his rough manner .. even if it wasn't that rough. But a few moments later, he realized, it was a little sturdier than it looked. Ok, he could get used to this.

So he thought.

The beings of Famine were an entirely new learning curve. How Vaith would have liked to look cool and uncollected .. Or cool in general. But personality and experience were two entirely different things. Vaith wasn't sure if he could ever stomach the thought .. Wait, that wasn't the phrasing he wanted to use. Especially when their teacher was eating his own liver and swallowing moths.

A large learning curve indeed.

Time to heat up the runestone .. Stop glancing at the teacher, he warned himself. Eventually, this would be another experience to create an experienced Vaith. The Vaith he always aspired to be.
