It had been a short while after the trials, and with the finish of the event, everything was going back to normal - albeit very, very slowly. Almost like a hushed lull, all of the students that Jack had the pleasure of spending his first year were starting to show up again . . . every one of them with a different mask on - the end of the events marked and raw on their faces.
Jack, himself, was secretly a little relieved that it was said and done, but now that everyone was back, whispers had started again, youthful banter and gossip filling each crevice of the school until it was unbearable. He had to get out, had to get away - and so, wandering down a quiet hall, he enjoyed his slice of rare silence.
Giving a great sigh, he let the sound reverberate in his chest as it clawed out and filled the hallway momentarily, before dying out with the ends of his breath. This was what he needed.

If anything had been raw, it was Lucien's cheeks from grinning as much as he had been the moment he woke up. He was alive, and that was all that mattered now. No longer was he a weapon, no longer was he lost in something he could no longer explain. Both his physical form and his mental form were pieced back together and he had woken up on his cloud. He didn't bother to question his dream for a prolonged time and or if it had even been a dream in the first place. No, this ignorant happiness is just what he needed.
The hallway was suspiciously silent and he would have kept going happily ignorant had he not heard that great sigh in the silence. He was practically upside down the moment it happened and so he turned his head, his eyes meeting what appeared to be Jack. No, it was definitely Jack. He was so used to floating upside down that his vision was hardly impaired by it.t
The hadn't seen Jack in so long! What was it? Not since shortly after the Battle of the Bands? Oh how he missed his p***y cat. With a hast prompt flip, Lucien was right side up again and flying toward Jack like a bullet, arms open, fully intent on hugging the other student.
"Jaaaaaaaack!"

It was so nice, not being hounded by anyone for anything, just the sound of his shoes clicking on the floor. Shame it didn't last very long. Hearing the sudden battlecry of his voice, Jack's eye shot up from his feet, ears perked as he scanned the corridor, only be awarded the sight of Lucien, coming out him with the force of a hurricane. How long had it been since he caught sight of the spirit? Well, it didn't matter.
Seeing Julien start to initiate what appeared to be a hug, he opened his arms, waiting for the moment, "Luci---OMPH-" came out when he finally made his way against the cat-god, obviously a lot less sturdy than he looked. "I'm happy to see you again, I was keeping an eye open for you during the trials." Came out after a moment, almost as if a wheeze.
