I got an email from gaia today and thought to myself... Wow, that's somewhere I haven't been in a long freaking time (seriously, I checked, the last time I posted was in like July of '10......)!! So hello!!

Quicky update... Andras and I are currently renting a house planning on buying a different house at the end of May (oooooooh!!), still have the same job, though I've moved departments a couple times. We went to Disney World in June last year for a week (which was AMAZING fun), went to the Detroit Auto Show and roamed around NYC for a week this January, and are planning a MASSIVE trip to Europe for 6 weeks next March/April!!

It's been pretty crazy the past while, doing lots of stuff, hosting LOTS of parties at our place.

What have you all been up to and who is all still here?!!! I always say I'm going to check in more often and don't, but I'm really going to try!

Your name looks familiar, but I can't quite place you.

Anyway, hi!

Detroit is right next to me! You didn't even call! How rude!

Europe, awesome! I'm going to Texas next month, not nearly as cool.

I am the only one still here. Everyone else has moved on. It is really quite sad. Cheese_slave is my mule, but you remember that, right?

Hey, Ki! surprised
Good to hear things are going swimmingly.

What'choo mean, the only one still here? I was at work... and didn't check in before I went to work a second time... sweatdrop

Also, I remembered cheese_slave, but not that it was your mule.

KIIIIIII

HOLY s**t I AM NAILING YOU TO THE GUILD WALL SO YOU DON'T LEAVE AGAIN.

Also, sounds like you've been doing a ton of fun stuff! I'll be in Disney World in June this year. Too bad the years didn't line up!

Also, buying a house? Wait a second, aren't we all like 17/18 years old still?

It seems like just yesterday that I was still in high school and you guys seemed so grown up in college, etc! xd

Sounds like you're doing well Ki. heart

Where abouts are you going in Europe? I'm heading over for 5 weeks later this year - having so much fun planning!

I think Texas is pretty damn cool!! ..Mainly because I'm pretty much at the other end of the continent from it so it seems far away! lol

It definitely feels like I'm still a young'un when I get on here, seriously, I turned 25 a couple Sunday's ago!! It's freaking nuts!!! It's funny that you say it's too bad we're a year apart in our Disney trips because while I was down there Andras and I met up with a guy I've known on the 'net since I was probably about 13/14. He's been up here to visit before too!

We have a bunch of destinations planned, we're going to the Geneva Auto Show, the BMW factory/museum in Munich, Legoland (if it's open!!), we're going to drive the Stelvio Pass is Italy, visit the Nurburgring, and of course Budapest for Andras. We're also trying super hard to get tickets to see a taping of Top Gear, which would be just stellar....... The rest I think we mainly be roaming around smile

What have you all been up to????

Wow, that sounds like an awesome trip. You're going to have to keep us informed.

All I've been doing these past few years is floundering around trying to get my s**t together. There's not much to say beyond that. sweatdrop

Your trip sounds closer to Kav's ideal Europe holiday, but fairly different to my plans! rofl

Although Kav and I did go to a Top Gear live show (not a taping) when they came out to Australia last year. Hope you guys manage to get tickets!

Kav finished his apprenticeship and is now a head mechanic. Still spends a helluva lot of money on cars though, so not much has changed there. xd

I graduated uni and have been working full time for the last two years. Finish up my chartered accounting qualification in June, and then jetting over to Europe. ^.^

I'm heading to Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome, Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, Edinburgh and London. Staying in a mix of hotels, apartments and hostels, but probably won't be roughing it too much! I think we'll be fairly traditional - hit the museums and churches, shopping, looooots of eating, get lost, mangle a few languages, etc.

I changed jobs again around my birthday and am now working in a quality control lab as a tech. I play with acids, bases, nylon pellets (what the factory my lab is attached to makes), and additive solutions for those pellets. I'm about to start training in my third of four areas (yay! more complex work!).

My cool annual camping trip with a bunch of old friends is taking place around the first of May; I'll be gone for a week plus then. I may go to the New Orleans Jazz Fest that also occurs that weekend and see Tom Petty and/or the Eagles perform, but that depends on how motivated I feel.

Other than that, working swing shifts is tiring, and my schedule is complicated, but since I like the pay and the work (first time I've liked working a job), it doesn't matter. 3nodding

EDIT: I've been watching Top Gear recently on BBC America and enjoy it; also, good luck on getting those tickets!

do i not recall that you were seriously studying French at one time, and went over there to get more immersed in the culture? or was that just your plan, but it did not happen?
