In Kumogakure there is no place not fit for battle. The staged areas for training their ninja's both elite and novice are several high plateaus above the living area. Because of their mountainous geography, the area is thick with fog and clouds and of course earth and rock are everywhere. Ideal for their clan's usual lightning nature, it is also suited for any chakra nature.

 ❋Kori Shirayuki ❋
A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori stood in the middle of a small pond on one of the plateaus around the training grounds. She was studying the targets she had set up on the shore of the pond a good twenty feet away. She clasped her hands together and slapped her right foot on the water. The splash of water that came up formed into watery needles and she aimed these at the shoreline targets. With a flick of her wrist, the needles flew toward the targets and embedded themselves into each one. Releasing the chakra for her technique she calmly walked over to inspect her work. Now that she was genin, she had to make sure her work was perfect and precise. That was how she viewed her work as a ninja. Reaching the shore, she looked at each target closely. Each target had a wet spot on the center, just like she had aimed for. She uttered a small smile of victory and looked around the area. She was supposed to be placed on a team with a few others today, but she wasn't sure about it. Most others didn't like her for some reason or another. Was it her clan? She was pretty sure that was the reason. She leaned against a nearby tree and sipped some water. Her training was done for today so here she would rest for a bit.
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

Atop on of the higher plateaus, a large rock, maybe three feet in diameter quivered slightly in timing with echoing thuds. On the other side, Taiyou stood striking furiously. Each time his knuckles met the rock he winced, but it wasn't easily noticed. Blood was caked on the rough surface and his knuckles. He drew back his right fist further than he had done previously, and gave a final hammering punch onto the boulder. Tiny pieces chipped off and blood started streaming more from his fist. Breathing heavily, he stepped back and set his hands on his knees, bending over to catch his breath. Can't even crack a rock with my fists... Taiyou raised his head, looking at the red stained boulder with dissatisfaction. His grip on his knees tightened. Dammit.. He pulled himself back up to a full stand, grasping his right wrist with his left hand. Chakra began focusing into his right fist and condensing. A couple seconds passed before he pulled his fist back readily. He froze for a moment, gathering his strength. His fist thrust forward, striking the boulder with a heavy impact. The top half practically shattered. Taiyou's breathing was still heavy. He remained in the same posture as pieces of the rock fell down around him. His eyes were fixated on the broken stone with a look of disappointment. Stupid rock... It only shattered like that because I hit it so many times already. Taiyou slumped to the ground in a sit. His training for the day was now over.. depending on if he was still tired later in the evening, that is.

 ❋Kori Shirayuki ❋
A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori looked up as she heard a small explosion like a rock being shattered. She pushed up from her position on the tree and looked around. Moving toward the direction of the sound, she soon found the cause, a tall, muscular looking boy panting near the destroyed boulder. What kind of technique was he using? She walked up to the boulder, examining it, trying to figure out what he had done. It appeared that there was an impact near where he was sitting and judging from his bleeding fists, he had punched it with great force. She turned to him and nodded in greeting as if she was just now acknowledging his presence. "Training?" Her voice was soft, much like how the snow gently lands on one's face during a storm. This was as close of a greeting as he was going to receive.
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

Taiyou lightly regarded Kori's presence as she approached. So lightly that he didn't even look at her. While he was instinctively minding her position relative to his own, his thoughts stayed on how he could grow stronger. It wasn't until she spoke that his eyes shifted towards her. "Yes." he replied in an empty tone. Now that he was looking at her, he observed how clearly she stood out, all due to her hair. Taiyou's eyes fell back to the remains of the boulder before him. His breathing had calmed considerably now. A dull ache started to pound in his fists as his body began to shift down into a recuperative state. He ignored it. His eyes once again found their way to Kori. This time however they seemed to have a cold accusation within them, as if Taiyou was growing confused as to what she wanted.

A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori cocked her head at the boy's reply. Well wasn't he a bundle of words? She followed his gaze to the boulder and then back to her. His gaze seemed to question her very existence, like he wondered why she was there. That was a strange expression. She had just come over to see what the noise was, but the look on his face made her wonder if there was something else, like something wrong. "What is it? Do I have something on my face?"

"No." Taiyou replied emptily. He stared a moment longer before speaking again. "Is there something you wanted?" he asked plainly. Taiyou couldn't say he disliked this girl being there, but he wasn't sure why she was either. Once he thought about it for a moment, it was normal in most people's nature to talk to each other. Taiyou couldn't understand anymore what joy people found in interacting with each other so often. It was at this moment Taiyou vaguely recalled one of the academy instructors saying something about being assigned to a team. Great... missions.. and even with other genin. As well as some stupid jounin to try and tell me what's what. Taiyou's eyes fell to the ground and a feeling of resentment started to build up within him. He almost forgot Kori was there altogether, which was almost a regular occurrence for Taiyou with people.

A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori shrugged. "Not really. I was just wondering what caused that noise." She looked at the boulder and motioned with her hand to point it out. This guy seemed kind of distant, like he didn't want to be here at this point. "Well my name is Kori. I was told to come here and see if I could meet other people that might be on a squad with me. You being the only one here....well....I was curious what I'd be working with." He shook her head at the boy, not sure if he was listening or not. She walked away from him and sat down on a rock nearby, curious if he was going to start training again. Maybe she could learn how he destroyed the rock like that.

Kori's words were mumbled background noise in Taiyou's mind. It wasn't until she walked some distance away and sat down that his attention was brought back to the present moment. His eyes set on Kori for a moment, but quickly fell to the ground again. The situation was actually beginning to bother Taiyou. While this is a normal reaction for Taiyou when he's around people, it wasn't because he disliked her. He actually didn't mind her presence, maybe because she wasn't talking at him relentlessly, or trying to scold or taunt him. Taiyou dealt with the oncoming silence with how he deals with everything. More training. He had intended to be done for the day, mostly because his fists were throbbing. However his legs were still fine, so he stood up and took stance. He would focus on speed and accuracy this session. A few warm up kicks lashed out, striking an invisible opponent. He quickly fell into the flow of things, more easily visualizing his opponent. His kicks became faster and more precise, but they still seemed to carry a good amount of weight behind them. It wasn't long before his mind blanked out his surroundings entirely. His entire focus was directed solely on the shadow sparring. His legs sliced through the air like focused blades and he began to strike and parry with his forearms and elbows as well. Mere minutes went by before he started to feel his fatigue catch up with him again. His movements showed this, but his determination and focus seemed to be going just as strong.

 ❋Kori Shirayuki ❋
A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori watched the boy as he sat there for a while, probably debating something along the lines of her reason of presence. He seemed to to get over it and returned to training. At first, Kori wondered what he was going to do with his bloody fists, and then he began to shadow box, using his legs. Already her mind was cranking, figuring that if this guy was on her team, he was difinitely going to be their close quarters person. She wasn't terrible with taijutsu, but it wasn't her strong point by far, not compared to this one.
Her focus switched to the seemingly determined aura about the boy. Whatever issues he had earlier about her being there, he had pushed aside and was now completely focused on his training. In her eyes, this was a sign of a true shinobi, able to block out trivialities and focus on the task at hand. Even when she could tell his fatigue beginning to get to him, she could see that his focus was still there, unshaken and unwavering.
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.

Taiyou paused for a moment. Sweat began to trickle down the side of his face and he felt his energy leaving him quickly. He glanced sideways at Kori, remembering that she was still there. She seemed to be watching him. Taiyou felt an uncommon desire to show off a little. It was rare that he actually had someone observing him train, let alone with any interest. He picked out another nearby rock. This one was about the same size as the last. He figured that if he was going to demonstrate his power, he'd have to at least match the state he left the last one in. This would prove difficult, since he had already pummeled the first one for quite some time, shaking up it's durability a bit beforehand. He calmed his breathing and began focusing his chakra once more. He raised his right fist in front of him, grabbing his wrist with his left hand. He stared at it as he focused as much chakra as he could manage to fit and condense around his fist. Once the chakra had built up, he charged at the rock with speed that easily surpassed most genin. As he drew within range, he whipped his chakra coated fist back. Taking one final step with his right leg, he pushed forward and leaned in while striking with all the strength he had left. His attack struck the center of the rock's top half, crumbling it into pieces and scattering the small chunks forward. He held the follow through posture for maybe a couple seconds before collapsing onto his knee breathing heavily. Close enough...

 ❋Kori Shirayuki ❋
A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori noticed that no matter how well he focused, her presence was affecting him. A small smile graced her features. His stance changed she noticed and she noted his stance. She wondered what he was doing though with his arm stretched in front of him like that. His charge was quick, faster than she had thought he was capable of. The effect of whatever he did was the same as before as it made a similar sound though now it was louder now that she was closer. So that was what he did....she assumed it was some sort of chakra enhanced move, but it was still very intriguing. Interesting....

Taiyou couldn't seem to catch his breath too easily. He dropped back into a sit. The pain in his right hand had intensified from the chakra tightening around his fist on impact. It wasn't uncommon for him to push himself this hard in training. It wasn't long before he began to feel a tad stupid for attempting to show off. There was little point, if any, in draining stamina for such needless displays. The rest of his stamina could have been spent more efficiently, but now he was almost completely depleted of energy. His left hand would take at least a couple days to heal, his right even longer. He raised his hands in front of him, observing their backs. His bruised and bloody knuckles forcefully reminded him of the long road to power he'd only begun to make any progress down. "I guess it will be leg, form, and mental training only for a few days..." he mumbled to himself under his breath.

"Oh, I see the two of you have found your way out here." Script said calmly from behind his high collar as he entered the training area. "You have quite the strength Taiyou. I'm impressed." Script kept his hands in his pockets the entire time he spoke. "Kori was it? That's a nice name." Script walked over to another nearby rock and sat down. "So, have either of you found out what team you're going to be on?"

 ❋Kori Shirayuki ❋
A cold breeze just rolled in..... Kori took note of the boy's exhaustion as he dropped down to sit. Apparently he had either been training a while or that technique was a lot for him to use. His attacks were powerful, but risky, not Kori's style but effective she figured in the right times. A new voice caused her to change her focus to a newcomer, a heavily covered boy wearing glasses. His speech intrigued her. How long had he been there? She didn't notice him until now and then he just makes his presence known and begins talking. She had been enjoying the silent relationship she was developing with this other boy. She also noticed this one called the other boy Taiyou. Had they met before? She didn't know either of these boys seeing as she had been taught by her father, and not gone to the Kumogakure Academy meaning she didn't know others her age. "No. Who are you? And where have you been hiding out all this time?"
.....oh wait, that was just my breath.
