So, Riddle tore her left ACL last week. She went from a partial tear to a full one, so she can't walk on it at all now. We're saving up for surgery, but we're struggling to do it. My fiance has set up a donation drive type thing on Reddit, since Reddit has done things like this in the past. Please, if you have a Reddit account, upvote our post so that more people can see it. If you don't have a Reddit account, it only takes about 30 seconds to create one. We need as many upvotes we can get, so if even one of you guys does it that's helpful. This is the link: http://www.reddit.com/r/Assistance/comments/r7mh0/r_assistance_can_you_help_save_my_dog/Thanks for looking.

So sorry to hear about RIddle. Doesn't your Vet have any payment plans of any sort? I wish you the best of luck in getting what you need to make this surgery happen for Riddle. It's disheartening to know your pet is in pain and you need to wait to do anything about it. neutral

I think I upvoted, it's just clicking the up arrow? What lowlife excuse for human beings downvoted evil
I know what it's like to have a baby in pain and want to give them all the care thy deserve but not have the money for it.
I'm doing my case study on an ACL injury. Does your estimate include post op rehab? Is it your reg vet who does that surgery? What is your current ETA (estimated time of affordability?)

Our regular vet doesn't do the surgery. We're going to the orthopedic specialist, since he is the only board certified vet in the area for this type of surgery. Other vets will do ACL repairs, but they're not specialists and they're not board certified. Our regular vet actually recommended we go to the specialist when Riddle blew her first ACL. The estimate includes the surgery, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, a couple post-surgery exams, and two sets of followup x-rays. Right now I'm putting literally all the money we have into savings, other than what we actually need to survive. We're eating a lot of rice and ramen, but we should have enough for the surgery in a month or two, if all goes well.

What kind of modalities does your physical therapist have? The case I'm working on did some electromagnetic therapy. She did 24 sessions total, starting at I think 8 days post op and then every 2-3 days for 8 weeks. That was the "GOLD" package though.

She doesn't do electromagnetic therapy, although that sounds interesting. We start therapy after 2 weeks, when the staples come out. Well, ideally anyway- Riddle had complications last time so her staples weren't out for four weeks. I'm slightly foggy on what all we did and when. I know we had two sessions a week for... six weeks, I think. Possibly eight. Those sessions included stretches, introductions for exercises to do at home, massage, and a hydrotherapy session each time. We were also given instructions for how and when to exercise her. We'll probably continue cold laser therapy as well, since we're already doing it for her elbow.
