Aodhan had never been to a shrine of an excorsima before. He'd honestly never even encountered one in his path, which was surprising. He assumed since he'd never ventured to one of their homes, and they didn't often come out of said home, that it logically wasn't unheard of for a knight to have not run into an excorsima before.

However, his curiosity had gotten the better of him, and he was on a mission. A witch eater had been on the run, and it seemed to be targeting excorsima. Aodhan wondered if this one would know any information. The blonde knight paused at the entrance, unsure of how to proceed or if he should at all. The last thing he wanted to do, was insult the man who resided within. Aodhan was not cool with that. He believed all should be given the utmost respect possible, whenever possible. So, that brought him to standing in the doorway like a statue, frozen in an unsure state. He sighed, feeling like a bit of an idiot. For someone like himself, who valued his intelligence and ability to predict certain situations, this really wasn't one he had ever expected to happen.

Maybe standing here for a few more minutes wouldn't hurt...

The chatter of the spirits alerted Cassiel to the man's presence at his gate. He was honestly nervous about the visitor. Why would a Cerberus Knight come to his shrine? Was he in trouble for something? He didn't recall doing anything suspicious recently. But the exorcisma exited his home to greet the man who looked much like a statue at the shrine entrance. "There's no need to stand there." He called out in a welcoming tone, a small smile upon his face. "I knew you were near by, though I wasn't expecting a visit from someone so prestigious. Please, come inside..." He made a gentle sweeping motion of his arm, opening his home to the stranger. It wasn't often that someone alive came to visit him and he welcomed any living soul to his shrine.

"I am curious as to why you're here." He muttered as he lead the man up the small pathway. He was walking towards a small home that looked to be carved from a large tree trunk. "Do you prefer tea or coffee?" He asked, glancing back at his guest. "We can exchange pleasantries and you can tell me why you're here while we sit and relax."

Aodhan almost jumped out of his armor as the other began to speak. He wasn't skiddish by any means (normally) but he felt, awkward here. He diverted his bright, blue eyes to the other, noticing his ears and the strange pupils. Well, that was certainly interesting! "Prestigious? Sir, I'm hardly such," he answered modestly, feeling the need to fidget and change the hand that was holding his giant hammer. He followed the exorcisma in, looking around at the shrine with his mouth slightly agape.

The knight would have answered, but the other seemed to have made up his own mind that tea or coffee needed to be in hand before any real conversation would arise. The blonde wasn't exactly against that. He kind of enjoyed listening to an audible train of thought. "Oh, coffee please." He would have made a joke at that point, but he felt it best to just be quiet...

Aodhan looked at the home, astonished at its architecture. It was so, fantastical. It made his own home, made of stone and wood look like a sore on the Earth!

Cassiel lead the man into the sitting room. It was warm an inviting thanks to the fire pit burning, though the temperature wasn't too overwhelming. In fact, even with the fire crackling, it seemed cooler inside the home than outside. "I'll be down in a minute. Please, make yourself comfortable." With a gentle sweeping motion of his hand, he gestured to the chairs placed near the fire. The pale man smiled softly before he ascended a staircase and disappeared.

The room itself was warm and inviting, having that cottage in the woods feel to it. (Although, that's pretty much what it was.) Various magic artifacts and knick-knacks from his family line were scattered about the room. Some rested upon a shelf others found a home on small end tables near the chairs. The most interesting artifact was his walking stick mounting upon the wall, much like a rifle would be found above a mantle place.

But Cassiel wasn't gone for long before he was carrying a tray down the stairs. "I hope you don't mind instant. I'm not a coffee fan but I do keep some incase of visitors. I much prefer tea over coffee." He explained, setting the tray down upon a small coffee table in the room. On it was cream and sugar should the man require it. But the cup was lifted and offered to the knight. "It's not every day that I have guests. Are you one of the few souls that find themselves lost in the woods?" He teased slightly as he took his own cup of tea once his hands were free, sitting down in a vacant chair. "No, I can sense there's another reason why you've stopped in, why don't you fill me in on all the details?" Again he smiled, lifting the cup to his lips.

Aodhan looked about like a child as he waited for the other to return. He craned his neck every which way, analyzing the cottage. His icy blue eyes came to rest on the fire, as it seemed to gently lap at the wood burning, rather than consuming like a hungry beast.

He shifted a bit in the chair, feeling his armor move with him. It wasn't the most comfortable getup, but it served his purpose, and that's what was most important. He took off his helmet, deciding that he didn't need to be in full garb. He shook out his blonde, spiky hair, feeling it sway about around him, coming to fall messily around his face. He scratched at the back of his head, relieved that he no longer had the helmet.

He blinked, a bit started as the the exorcisma returned. "Oh, that's fine. Ironically, I kind of loathe tea." He realized his statement would have seemed strange without a bit of backstory. A hue of red brushed at his cheeks as he cleared his throat awkwardly. "Long story..." he muttered, putting enough sugar in his coffee that it was more like he was having some coffee with his sugar.

He didn't know if he should laugh at the joke, or just smile, so he opted for an awkward laugh and a small bit of a smile. "Oh, uh..." He took a sip of his sugary coffee, wincing at the lack of cream, remembering he'd forgotten. He poured a bit of cream in, sipping again before speaking. "I'm on an assignment to track dome a witch eater. He's quite dangerous. I got word that he had come out here. I was wondering if you'd have any information, or if you'd seen any witch eaters that've come by."

Cassiel watched the man with his golden eyes, studying him while he listened. This man was different than all the others he met. He carried a sense of responsibility with him, a trait that was respectable. Cassiel liked that quality about him. He smiled around the rim of his teacup as he learned of the assignment. "Although there has been many majin that have stopped here to visit, none that I can recall are witch eaters. They've been able to resist that unpleasant part of their race. However, if I do happen to see one, or one stops here, I will send a message to you. Though I'm not too worried about it. Even though you told me he's dangerous, I'm sure I can handle my own."

Taking another sip of tea, the exorcisma sighed contently. He really was relaxed about the whole situation. It wasn't like a witch eater could bust in there and over power him. Not when he was in his shrine. The amount of power he contained was practically amplified as long as he was on the sacred ground. No witch eater would be foolish enough to attack him, right?

"I know you're on an important assignment, but as long as you're here perhaps you could tell me a little about the knights? I've never met one before and I'm rather curious about you." He muttered, still smiling at the man. It was true thought. He loved to learn about the other humans and majin around him. "Have you always wanted to pursue that path? I almost envy you, being able to choose what you do in life. Not that I hate being what I am."

Changing my post style, wheee

Aodhan hadn't meant to insult, if that's what happened. He was just being extremely through. He was sure the other felt very safe here, and honestly, he probably was. The knight had no knowledge on his kind, and quite frankly, from what he'd seen so far, and those strange pupils... He wouldn't run into one on a bad day either...

He nodded, listening as the other said he'd let Aodhan know of any majin or witch eater came along. That was all he could really ask for. He looked to the walls of the room, chewing his bottom lip as he became momentarily distracted, before listening once more, his eyes focusing.

"Uh, the knights?" Well that sounded rather unintelligent... "We're a pretty organized bunch. Some of us work in teams, some with partners. If you're really good, you work alone." Being that Aodhan was here, alone, he wondered if the man was putting two and two together. He sat back, feeling a bit of awkward tension, but maybe that was just him...

"Yeah, I always wanted to be a knight. My father was one, and he didn't push me into it. I had to push him. I'm...if you didn't notice. Kind of short..." It was true, Aodhan only topped out at five feet and five inches. He was extremely short for a male. "Dad thought I'd have a rough time getting in, but I made quite the impression. Got in on my first try." He shrugged, acting as if it was nothing.

He still felt uneasy, but it wasn't about the situation with the witch eater. He just had no idea how to converse with the other. He felt like, the man was...judging him? Or, putting him below? He could have been entirely wrong, but Aodhan was quick to assume people didn't like him. He was used to being called out and judged, came with the job of working with some mean grunts, being bullied by Blackhearts, and his lack of height.

Suddenly, he jumped a bit out of his seat, straightening his back as his piercing, blue eyes rounded in shock. "Oh! Your name! M-my name!" he exclaimed. A small blush dotted his cheeks as he gave a half smile, before settling back into the chair. "I mean, my name's Aodhan Coinneach, of the Cerberus Knights. I'm so sorry, I'm so rude! My I ask your name?" He felt like an idiot. That should have been the first step in this process, and here they were, already drinking coffee and sitting in his home.

When Aodhan started to talk about the knights and of himself, Cassiel listened. He stopped drinking his tea and gave the man his complete attention. "You and I are vaguely similar then. I followed my father's footsteps in taking over the shrine. You followed yours into knighthood. And yes, being six foot tall myself, I did notice your lack of height." He muttered softly, making himself more comfortable in his seat. But when Aodhan jumped, the exorcisma mirrored that jump, watching the human with wide startled eyes.

"Names?"He never thought to ask the man his name. He just felt so comfortable to talk to him and have a conversation that the simple concept of a name fluttered form his mind. "It's nice to meet you Aodhan. My name is Cassiel and you're in the Aaraboth Shrine. And you were not rude at all. If anything, I should have extended my name when I invited you inside. But you were just so interesting to me that I forgot to ask your name. I've never met a knight before and I guess my own curiosity about knightly things got the best of me. But now that we had the simple pleasantry behind us, let's relax and continue our talk? I'd love to hear more about the knights but I'm sure you have some questions about me and my race. Usually my guests bombard me with questions."

Aodhan cocked his head, leaning back in his chair, messing with the blue cloth on his armor. Ask the other questions? Well, he guess he could, if he had to. He really didn't ...care? That was wrong. It wasn't that he didn't care, it was he was sent here on a mission, and thus speaking over coffee and tea really wasn't getting them anywhere. "Uh, well, I mean, aren't you lot necromancers or somethin'?" He fidgeted with the blue cloth still, trying to occupy his hands. The coffee was coffee, but too much of it made him jittery.

He felt a bit unsettled. The other was observing him like a scientist, or something. He didn't really know what to make of that. The knight guessed it wasn't all bad, as long as no funny business started up. Cassiel didn't seem the evil type really; just a bit quirky and simple. Aodhan relaxed a bit. This whole place was just different to him, it wasn't the fault of the owner. He just wanted to find that bloody witch eater...

He felt rude, suddenly. He'd been having negative thoughts about the other, even if it was just out of insecurities. Knights weren't just out and about, it wasn't the fault of the other. He blushed a bit, feeling shamed of himself. "What's yer favorite thing about this shrine?" he asked suddenly, trying to break the awkward feeling he had.

At the mention of necromancy, something seemed to change in Cassiel. He stiffened and his eyes dropped to the floor. Obviously it was a subject he didn't really care for. But the other had asked, and he forced a smile back on his face when he glanced at Aodhan. "I know some necromancy, however it's not my choice of skills. My father tried to train me in it, but I love life too much to destroy it for the simple purpose of practicing magic. It's a darker art. My mother however tried to teach me life magic. I enjoyed that more, but I found my happy medium staying connected to the spirits around me." He explained, his thumb nervously fingering the lip of his coup. He could feel the tension in the air growing. Cassiel merely wanted to make his guest comfortable but sensed he was doing a poor job at it.

"My favorite thing... about the shrine?" The sudden question was shocking. Cassiel never had to pick one thing like that. His brows knitted together as he began to think, glancing around his home curiously. "To be completely honest, I'm not sure. But if I must choose one thing, it would be the comfort I have here. I believe, even if on the chance my shrine was destroyed, that comfort would still be here on the sacred grounds." A home could be rebuilt after all, and the spirits wouldn't be leaving any time soon.

"But I feel I must apologize. I'm keeping you from your task merely out of my own curiosity. I don't get many living visitors..." He bowed his head a bit, not wanting to rush the man out at all, but allow him to leave should he choose.

But when Cassiel opened his mouth to speak again, he stopped. His head turned from Aodhan to stare out the doorway. Nothing was there but he seemed to feel something approach. Something evil. "Get your weapon Aodhan, it seems the target of your search is making a house call." His tea cup was placed down as he rose to his feet. With an outstretched hand, his walking stick floated from its place upon the wall to land in his hand. Cassiel didn't even wait for Aodhan, walking right through his door. He didn't even waste the time to open it!

Walking down the small path, he stopped several yards from the intruding Witch Eater. This particular one had consumed multiple hearts, which gave it a tremendous source of power. Cassiel wondered if he could match it alone. Good thing he had back up with him. Though, no matter what, Cassiel would not allow himself to fall to a Witch Eater, even if he had to run!
