Name: Art (Derived from Earth)
Nicknames: None yet, but Art's kind of short to nickname.
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Faction: Monster
Race: Golem
Natural Ability: Most of the golems of Art's tribe have the ability to cause organic things to decay at an accelerated rate. Art, however, is a little mixed up. He can slow decay in living things. Cut flowers, for example, stay fresh for quite a while in proximity to Art, and even when given away if he focuses on them hard. This enables him to make swag clothes out of plants and so forth without worrying about them rotting off, and to give girls awesome everlast flowers as presents.
Personality: Art hails from a tribe of mud golems. The golems of the tribe were freed from their masters by accident or design, and decided they preferred a life on their own. They have an arrangement with local sorcerers to make more young golems when the tribe needs a fresh batch of kiddos. Art's "parents" were quite proud of their spiffy new golem kid until they noticed his very unscary habit of keeping flowers and plants fresh. It was so ... domestic. It was so house-golemy. If they didn't turn him into a frightening golem soon, some human magician would surely take him home and turn him into a poor domestic golem drudge.
Art isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he is an agreeable kid and went along cheerfully when they sent him to Amityville Academy.
+Agreeable: Art can get along with just about anyone. He doesn't have any species or gender prejudices, and will be friendly with anyone. As far as activities go, Art's a very laidback guy and is happy to participate in whatever other people want to do. Shy students may find the good-natured golem appealing as a friend.
-Pushover: Art is uncomfortable with arguments, and hesitant to speak up if he disagrees with something. If Art falls in with the wrong crowd, he may unwittingly end up participating in something he doesn't like, such as bullying. If Art's friends did something nasty, Art might try to slowly edge away, but he would be reluctant to step in and stop them. Art may also get passed over when it comes to awards or special recognition, because he won't step forward and speak up for himself.
+Creative: As he becomes accustomed to life at Amityville, Art will realize that his gift with preserving flowers and plant matter is something special. He may make flower arrangements as gifts for friends or love interests. Art may also take an interest in preserving the flowers on potted plants, or making interesting garments and items out of living wood and plants. His skills may make him friends, as he will be generous with his crafts, or enemies if others are jealous.
-Not so bright: Although creative, Art isn't terribly bright. He will have a difficult time in classes, and a worse time when it comes to situations that require critical thinking. Art is a kind and mild-mannered fellow, but his lack of perceptiveness may lead to confrontations when he irritates others without realizing it (he may give gifts to someone else's girlfriend/boyfriend, for example). He may also let his friends down when he agrees to do something and fails -- very annoying when he's your partner on a project, or cohort in a prank.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? The golems of Art's tribe were a bit concerned about his lack of ability as far as making things decay. Worried that he won't turn out to be a properly scary golem, they sent him to Amityville Academy to master his FEAR. He needs at least some frightening skills, right?
FEAR Ability: Animate:
Art will be able to animate inanimate objects! These objects will behave as minigolems (a table walking around, for example). As he learns to master his FEAR, he will be able to animate more monstrous and complex things -- minigolems with multiple parts, or monsters made of dirt, etc. Art's skill at making the inanimate move around will backfire at unfortunate times. He may make a desk break itself into pieces or crumple into a heap of sawdust during class, getting him in a world of trouble. As he learns to use his ability, he will accidentally break things just as often as he successfully animates a little nonliving minion.
