This is a private RP between Winter Frost (Avalbane) and Treble (Theodore).

Where: The Academy -> Ronth; The Opera House
What's happening: Theo is taking his Ball "outfit" back to his mom in person. He runs into Avalbane and they go on dress-up adventures! IE, they're being women.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2012 1:05 pm

Break. A Spring Break. Theo was excited about it. He would get to take his ball attire home to his mother in person because of their break, and even though it was a short break he planned to enjoy it the best he could. Maybe if she wasn't so busy they could cook dinner together, or even go and see a a movie.

With his guts all a flutter, Theo happily shoved some clothes into a duffel bag along with any hygienic necessities he could think of. Tooth paste? Check. Brush? Check. Wash Cloth? Check. Deodorant? Check. Mr. Bear? Check. Ok, so Mr. Bear was not exactly hygienic necessities, but he was taking it along anyway. His mom gave it to him, the last thing he needed was for her to feel like he didn't love her by leaving Mr. Bear back at the dorms.

"Alright, let's see," He muttered, checking his pockets and duffel once again to make sure he had everything. Oh! He didn't have his key! He would need that.

He shuffled through his desk drawer and pulled out his key and shoved it into his jean pockets. It than occurred to him that he had forgotten to tell Anemone that he wasn't going to be around for a couple of days. He thought it polite to let his roommate know he was going to be gone, so he pulled out a piece of paper and a paper and scribbled a note onto a piece of paper:

Dear Anemone,

Sorry for the short notice, but I'm gonna be gone for a couple of days to go see my mom. I hope you have a good break!

- Theodore

Yeah... That sounded good.

Swinging his duffel over his shoulder, Theo grabbed for the box in which his ball 'attire' and shoved it under his arm before leaving his room. Fishing for the keys in his pocket, he made sure to lock the door as he left and started walking down the hall on his way out.

Avalbane McCarthy

xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • had received a letter from her parents; it didn't have a address to the academy but some how it made it. It was her frist piece of mail while being here. Speaking of being here, there were plenty of new things she had done. She got a roommate, another alien girl. Fell in love, and out of love technically. Made chocolate, though she still wasn't sure what that was. Created a volcano and made a mess. And she went to a dance and met a nice boy. It was so many new things that it was almost like an overload. Luckily, it had happened over plenty of time. But now, she had a letter. It wasn't anything special just some plans for Spring Break, which was also new.

The letter just told Ava how she couldn't come home over the break because her parents were away. They had a family member come in and wanted to go meet them. It was something that made Ava happy for her parents but she didn't know what to do now. Most of the students were looking forward to going home for a week, she was almost sure that no one would be here. Would the teachers be going too?

Avalbane's face had been buried into the piece of paper as she walked. Her room wasn't too far away so she had stopped paying attention to where she was walking. Quickly she turned the corner and caught a glimpse of something up ahead.

Looking up, she let out a small squeal as she tried to skid to a stop. Her feet slid against the tile floor as she tried to keep her balance. The envelope and letter fell from her hands as she managed to stop right before slamming into the other person.

Theo.

"Oi'm so sorry. oi wasn't payin' attenshun." Her heart was beating quickly as she tried to get over her shock of almost slamming into him. The bag he carried caught her attention too. "Ah, ye 'eadin' 'um for dis break? lots av people are." Lucky Theo.

heart

Theo had seen Avalbane walking down the hall, her face buried in a piece of paper intensely. He hadn't gotten to talk to her much since the charity ball, as they didn't share many classes with each other, which for him was a shame because he thought she was rather nice and a kinda pretty. So when he saw her walking down the hall distracted he decided to sneakily set up a reason to talk to her.

He continued his course, which was dead in front of Ava. She managed to think of looking up before they bumped into each other and squeaked, skidding to a halt in front of him which prompted her to begin apologizing.

Oi'm so sorry. oi wasn't payin' attenshun

Theo gave her a small smile, adjusting the box that held his ball costume, "It's alright. I, uh, wasn't exactly paying attention either...heh."

Ah, ye 'eadin' 'um for dis break? lots av people are.

Theo flashed Ava another small smile as he noticed that he envelope and letter had fallen to the ground in her attempts to stop before running into him. He knelt down, his duffel bag sliding off his shoulder and the strap getting caught on the inside of his arm as it plopped to the ground with the letter. It wasn't heavy, thankfully, so it didn't bug him.

"Uhm, yeah," He answered, grabbing the envelope, letter and standing up again. He slung his duffel bag over his shoulder once more and held up the letter and envelope to Ava with a grin. "I'm ,uh, goin' home for a few days to see my mom. Aren't you?"

Avalbane McCarthy

xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • was a bit relieved to hear that she wasn't the only one paying attention. At least it made her feel less spacey and out there. Him bending down and picking up the letters was really nice. She could have easily done it, especially since there was no bag on her arm, but he did it instead. "Ah, tanks." She gently took the letter from his hands, making sure not to actually touch his skin, and folded it up. Shoving the letter back in the envelope she looked up at him when he asked her if she was going. No, no she wasn't.

"Dat shud be fon'". It took her a minute to reply to the next part, trying to figure out how to say it without seeming really upset about it. Finally she came to this, "Aw naw. me pairnts ain't gonna be 'um so i'll be stayin' 'ere for de break." Eventhough she did try to hide her unhappiness but some could be seen on her face. "That's waaat dis letter wus." She shook the envelope a little to make her point.

Avalbane wasn't really upset about her parents leaving. She was happy for them, just didn't know what to do with herself. Smiling she tilted her head to the side slightly. "Well oi don't want ter 'owl yer up or anythin'." She wasn't sure if she was taking up his time or not, but she didn't want to seem like she didn't care.

SAY YES.

Theo gave her a genuine 'No problem' smile when she thanked him for picking up her letter for her and scratched the back of his neck as he replied to her, "It's no big, and, uhm, yeah. I hope it is fun. I can never tell, my mom is usually so busy..."

Than Ava told him that her parents weren't going to be home and that she'd be staying in the dorms for her break. Her expression dampened and Theo stopped scratching the back of his neck and his smile faded as he returned his hand to his side. That wasn't any good, being alone for break and not being able to see your family. He knew how lonely it really was when you had no one there for you and were left to your own devices.

He watched as she waived the envelop around a bit and was tempted to snatch it from her hand and rip it to shreds in defiance of its mood, but he was certain that'd possibly upset her even more. Instead, when she comment on how she didn't want to hold him up, he looked at her dead in the eyes and smiled.

"You're not holding me up, Avalbane," He gave her another grin and sighed, scratching at the side of his face for a moment as he made a particularly funny expression where his lips puckered and moved to the right momentarily. "Say, uhm... since you're free an all. Uhm, you wanna hang out with me in Ronth? You don't have to if you don't want to! But, uhm, I gotta give this costume back to my mom anyway, and she's probably busy today, so..."

Say yes, he willed internally. I wanna hear yes.

Ok. emotion_awesome

Avalbane McCarthy

xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • hated to hear that Theo's mom was usually so busy. However, she was pretty sure they would have a lot of time together and have fun. It was Theo. She only danced with the boy but felt like there was no way someone could be around him and not have fun. He seemed like the fun type.

When she had finished telling him of not wanting to hold him up, he made direct eye contact. Avalbane wanted to advert her eyes. There was something about direct eye contact that was awkward, but his smile made it hard for her to do that. It was so warm feeling and inviting. And that face. The funny expression he made actually made her smile softly, not meaning to though.

She was relieved to hear that she wasn't holding him up and he didn't mind. At least she didn't feel like she needed to move out of his way and could actually spend some time and talk to him. The next thing however, that caught her completely off guard. Avalbane couldn't control the face she made next. It was a mix between shock and excitement. Would he really want her to come along? It sounded fun. Although her parents wouldn't be home, they still lived in Ronth. It would almost be like being home. Except Ava was pretty sure Theo didn't live in the slums like she did.

"Ah Theo!" She crunched her envelope inbetween her hands and up against her chest. "I'd love ter go!" Her excitement was getting the best of her at this moment but she quickly calmed down a bit and realized she was slightly over reacting. Slightly. "O-Oi mean. If yer tink she 'ill be busy oi wouldn't mind guin' witcha. I-It wud be n-nice. plus oi wud git ter spend time witcha." That last part made her blush slightly. She wasn't use to telling people that. Well boys at least. Maybe it shouldn't have made her cheeks flush but it did. Avalbane wasn't really sure why.

This meant she would have to go and quickly pack. Of course she was going to wait for some form of confirmation before she ran off down the halls, threw clothes into the closet bag and then ran back. That would seem a bit over excited. Right?

I could. I could.

Theo perked up like a puppy at attention when Avalbane said she'd love to spend the day with him in Ronth. His normally dark, eerie red eyes were bright and glossy with the anticipation of the good time he hoped they both would have, especially with free-range access to the opera house. Not that he was going to admit that part of his plans just yet.

"Ah, it's, uhm. It'd be no problem," Theo said, running a hand through his hair in attempts to casually scratch his hairline around his face. He averted his eyes slightly at Ava's blush, mostly because he wasn't good with blushing girls. It was like a boy's kryptonite. Pretty pink faces with smiles like gems, and all that...

"Mom'd be, uhm, really excited if I brought a friend over anyway, so...," He trailed off for a moment, not wanting to make himself sound ridiculously pathetic. Mom's weren't usually excited about friends coming over to their houses unless.... well, unless their kid didn't have friends in the first place.

"UHM," He began, looking around for a moment and shifting his duffel, "We should, uh. We should get your stuff and junk. If we can get there early enough, maybe we can sucker my mom into getting is some pastries or something."

He gave Ava another smile, already trying to figure out exactly what to do with her and where he should drag her about. They lived in a nicer section of Ronth, but only because of his mother''s work in the Opera House. When you worked for the Opera House, you lived in the Opera House. Their apartment was small, but they didn't pay for it, so he never complained.

Avalbane McCarthy

xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • had never noticed the color of Theo's eyes before, but not she did. She was staring into them like they contained all the hope in the world. Well her hope, especially since he said he didn't mind. Oh boy! This was going to be the best time ever! EVER!

"T'be sure! I-it shouldn't take me too long ter pack. Oi already nu waaat oi want ter brin'." She didn't want to hold him up, so being quick was going to be super easy. Especially since most her stuff was hung up nicely and she could just rip it off the hangers and toss it into a bag she had. With an extra pep in her step, Avalbane started off for her room. "You've never seen me room 'av yer? Well..umm..if yer don't want ter wait 'ere or anythin' yer can c** luk at it. Me side is de wan wi' al' pink." She giggled at that last part. It was true. Violet's side didn't have as much pink and blue as Avalbane's.

Quickly skipping almost to her room, she jiggled the door handle and opened it up. No one was in there, understandably so, it was Spring Break. Going in, Avalbane pulled a black and pink bag out of the closet. It seemed similar to a bowling ball bag but bigger. Pulling some clothes down, she stuffed them into the bag. "Waaat are pastries?" She had been meaning to ask him that since he said it, but she was overly excited and didn't find the time until now. It sounded interesting. Was it clothing or toys? Hopefully it would be the later. She didn't really want more clothes. Well, maybe.

Shoving some more clothes and essential things into her bag, she headed for her bed. Grabbing her soft teddy bear, she turned back toward Theo. "O-ok..um..oi'm ready nigh." Hopefully she hadn't taken too long.

LET US FAST FOWARD TO THE OPERA HOUSE, YES emotion_awesome ?

Theo smiled at Ava's enthusiasm, adjusting his duffle and his costume box as she invited him to come see her room while she grabbed the things she wanted to bring and shoved them in a bag. The idea of being in a girl's room would have normally spooked him; however, his roommate was a girl so he got used to the idea of cute things sitting around and the occasional glimpse of girl undergarments. Granted, Anemone didn't have many conventional cute things... she had a lot of ugly things she found cute, so she was a little boyish in that regard.

Following after his new partner in crime, Theo stood in the doorway as he looked around Avalbane and her roommate's room before finally settling for watching Ava shove clothes into her bag like a mad woman. It was quite cute, and he was really glad she agreed to come along with him. He'd still been finding it difficult to make friends, especially ones who weren't all girls, but Ava was rather easy to talk to and she wasn't rude and irritating like Clowrey could be.

"Pastries?" Theo repeated, looking slightly off guard at her question, "Uhm, they're food. Like... huh, uhm... damn, how do I explain this."

Normally Theo tried not to swear. People looked at him funny whenever he did, but in this instance he was relatively stumped and forgot all semblance of manners as he tried to search for words to describe what a pastry was. There was all sorts of them, running down a list would be difficult.

"Uhm, pastries are like...well. They can kinda be anything, but they're food. Mostly bread-like food, or cookies. I, uhm, I personally like this pastry called a Danish. It's flat soft bread and in the middle they put cream cheese or fruit jams, or other things and than they drizzle it in sugar stuff," He explained, "There's like whole bunches of them."

Yeah, that would have to do for now. It'd be easier for her to just see and experience what a pastry was instead of him continue to fail on their explanation.

Theo noticed the stuffed teddy Ava had grabbed and smiled on the inside. It was a little reassuring to know he wasn't the only one who grabbed their teddy bear. Mr. Bear would be very pleased to also have a friend. Had Theo been self aware like say, Skynet, he would have realize how unmanly it was for a 14-year-old boy to be carrying around his favorite teddy bear. That being said, if anyone mentioned it he would probably tell them where to shove it and go hug the bear in secret. It's his damn bear, they can go to hell.

Theo perked back up once Ava said she was finished packing and adjusted his duffle and costume box once again as he flashed her another smile, "Awesome! Uhm, let's go catch our ride!"

Theo had actually come to the Academy via boat, but soon learned there was a bullet train connecting the Academy to his home land. From there he had planned on taking a cab ride to the Opera house. His mom had given him money in her last letter to him, so he was going to use that to pay for travel fees. Given he invited Avalbane along, he figured he should probably pay for her too.

Yes! : D

Avalbane McCarthy

xxxxxxxxxxxAvalbane • thought for a moment. Food? Well that wasn’t one of her first thoughts when it came to what a pastry was. However, it did make since. The word itself rather sounded like food. Maybe some soft stuff like those destroyed potatoes. It was destroyed right, or beaten. Oh well, she couldn’t remember what they were called, just that they were soft and potatoes. “ Ah, dohs soun' yummy. oi'm not sure wat cream cheese is, but oi loike cheese.” There seemed to be a lot of things that Theo knew about that Avalbane had no idea. Obviously, this would make sense since the boy was from Earth. Well, at least she was pretty sure Theo was from Earth.

Avalbane had no idea that Theo had his own bear. Mr. Snufflewufflups would actually have a friend. Then the two bears could have tea parties and become an awesome superhero crime-fighting duo that could never be hurt and would save the world within a week. No more pain or suffering. Nothing. At least that is what Ava would believe. Her bear needed a friend. Of course, Theo’s bear would have to have a friend too. Bears just can’t be on their own. It is not right. They need other stuffed bear friends. You could ask anyone, that is common knowledge. Very common.

Slinging the bag over her should, Ava nodded and followed Theo out of the room and down the hall. Her arms squished the bear to her chest as she walked. Although she knew Theo and considered him a friend, this new experience was nerve wracking. She had never been to a ‘friends’ house before. She did not actually have any friends, but that is beside the point. This was another new experience and it made her nervous. What would happen if Theo’s mom did not like her? Did things like that happen? Like an evil step mom. WAIT! What if she was a step mom? That would put Theo and Ava in trouble. Step moms were always evil. Shaking her head a little, Avalbane pushed that thought out of her head, she was being silly. Very silly.

A bullet train, that was the first she had ever heard of one. Obviously, she asked Theo a bunch of questions about it while they were riding on their way to Ronth. Especially why it was named bullet train. Most of her questions probably were not very answerable, but that was fine. Saying I don’t know was as good as an answer to her as the correct one. Everything was so new. Did Theo normally do things like this? Was his life really this much different then Avalbanes? Maybe some of the things she was use to would be new to him. That was always a possibility. The bullet train ride did not actually scare her too much. Her face was glued to the window most the time. That must have been what it felt like to fly, just seeing things going by so quickly. If she was not staring out a window and awing at things, she was asking questions.

Her teddy bear was gripped tight on the cab ride, that was more frightening then the bullet train. The ride however, did not seem to be too long. Soon they were pulling up to a building that was much different than the average buildings she saw. Avalbane was so happy to be on this trip with Theo. She would definitely have to hug him when it was all over. “ Is dis it?” It was easy to hear the awe in her voice. She was over excited about this trip again.

Theo nodded to Avalbane when they finally got to the Opera House and out of the cab. He couldn't help but notice Avalbane's bear and smiled internally, making a note to introduce his own to her. If she was walking around with a stuffed animal then he doubted that she would find it weird that he was carrying one around with him as well.

"This is it...," Theo said, too caught up in the familiarity of home to notice that he looked almost like he was going to cry at the sight of it.

It'd been far too long since he'd seen his mother, or the other workers of the opera house for that matter, and the first thing he wanted to do was run straight in and bombard her with all the things he'd been up to. It was almost as if he was a different person around his mother, much more animated, far less timid.

Unfortunately, there was a level of decorum that needed to be held. This was an opera house and they might be in practice for all he knew. He would have to go in through the side and drop off their things before wandering over to take a look-see at what was up.

Turning back to the cab driver, Theo quickly paid them and went to help get his and Avalbane's things. He smiled to her as he dragged some of their stuff out of the cab, "We're gonna go in through the company apartments around the side and towards the back. So, uhm, so we don't disturb anyone if they're busy."

Theo was home, and so sure of himself and his surroundings. He missed it so dearly.
