The last few weeks had gone by in a blur for Zayford. He couldn't remember exactly what had happened but he ended up with this basket. What ever it was anyways. His gut was telling him that he shouldn't keep it, whatever was in it, he couldn't remember. Giving a soft sigh he glanced at it again. He had no remembrance of it, no matter how hard he tried to remember his mind remained blank.
Well he wasn't going to keep it, that was for sure. Poking the small basket once with his hoof before he turned and walked away from it. Leaving it to the wild and what ever the forest around him held.

Macalania moved through the trees at her regular pace, eyes moving to the trees, saplings and other flora, making sure everything was in order. It was her last day in this forest before she returned home to report to Yggdrasil. Whether or not she would return would be decided by him. To be honest, Macalania wanted to work somewhere else. Not that she hated this forest, she simply wanted to explore new locations, help elsewhere and discover new plants.
Something caught her attention and she tilted her head to the side. A flash of colour that didn't belong. Was it perhaps a new flower? She nudged the bushes away and and stepped back with a gasp. This certainly was not a flower. It was a basket, tinier than most. Pink with a blue stripe and a slight rainbow hue. Macalania had seen baskets before. She knew what came out of them and that frightened her more than the dangers of the forest did.
She wondered what it was doing alone, hidden in the bushes. "Hello?" She called out, receiving no response in return. Where were its parents? A war went on in side her, wondering what she should do. She certainly was in no state to care for a child but at the same time she couldn't leave it here all alone.
Macalania began to pace, a frown creasing her features as she contemplated her options.Zakiax Tag. Sorry it took so long, got the flu and it drained me. @_@

The basket gave a bit of a wiggle, as the tiny foal inside began to move. First a bright blue hoof emerged followed by the rest of the tiny male's body. The basket covered his head for it was the last to emerge from it his tiny unusual tail wiggling as he tried to get his footing.
A sneeze caused the tiny foal to roll backwards returning to himself to his back. The basket was now comply off of his head. His blue eyes glanced around his surroundings before he rolled over he moved back to his hooves his legs wobbling under him. Once his hooves were planted and he was used to standing his head turned and he noticed another by him a bigger one of him or so he suspected. "Mama?" He questioned in an awfully high-pitched childish voice. The little foal attempted to walk over to her only to fall back upon the ground. He had gotten used to standing, but walking now was a different situation. LOLTERNATIVE aww being sick is always a pain. If you need more time to rest take it. I don't mind.

Taking a step back as the basket began to wiggle, Macalania watched with a child like fascination. She had never seen a foal emerge from their baskets before and despite her instincts telling her to leave before she got in too deep, she watched intently. When the foal emerge she looked at him with a cocked head, wondering what kind it was. He was.. he was rather adorable in a tiny kind of way.
Shaking her head, she turned to walk but stopped when he sneezed and rolled. She turned around and faced the foal once more and pursed her lips. How could she leave such a tiny incapable thing by itself?
And then the question came along with that word and her eyes widened as she stared in disbelief. Surely he knew she wasn't his mother - they looked nothing alike. She took a hesitant step back as he moved towards her and watched as he struggled to move. Stepping forward carefully, she nosed the foal, sniffing him gently to see if she recognised anything - perhaps she knew his parents and would be able to return him.
But nothing sparked and she sighed. She would guide him to a herd or something. Maybe back to her own so he could be safe... "What is your name?" She asked, wondering if he could even understand her. Zakiax Tag. S'okay. Should be good now. Just a matter of getting back in the swing of it. c:

He was trying to move back to his feet when he was nosed by the older mare, which caused him to only tumble back upon the ground. The foal's ears twitched in her direction as she spoke. The tiny one's head tilted to the side. "Name?" he questioned basically repeating the sole thing he remembered she had spoke. There was a bit of a pause as he seemed to ponder what was asked of him.
Though it took him a while to respond, for the question had been circling in the back of his head. What exactly was his name? His body stayed on the ground as he thought about all of this. "Mama Name?" he questioned once more his eyes were upon her. His little nose sniffed at her, his hooves wiggling a bit he was itching to get back up and try to walk again.

Macalania mentally smacked herself. Of course the child wouldn't know what she was saying. Her eyes widened as he called her mama and she stood, mouth opened, wondering what she was going to say. She was treading on thin ice and all of a sudden she weighed a thousand pounds and couldn't run away. "Uhh.."
She nudged him again, helping up stand up. Lifting a hoof, she pointed to herself. "Macalania. Mah-kah-lah-nee-ah," She spoke slowly, looking him carefully in the eyes. As she wiggled and nosed her, she couldn't help but smile. He was so tiny. How anyone could abandon such a thing was beyond her. But she was not one to judge.
"You? Name?" She pointed at the foal now, using small words and speaking carefully. Perhaps his parents had whispered something through his baskets. She didn't want to think about having to give him a name; the thought terrified her.Zakiax Tag. Durr hurr I get sick way too much. XD

Once upon his unsteady hoofs it took him a while to balance himself upon them, finally figuring out that if he placed his tail upon the ground it was easier to stand. His ears flicked towards her "Mah? Mah-Kah-ene?" he attempted to pronounce her name which seemed to tie his tongue. "Mama! Macanee!"
The foal's little wings flapped happily as he said his version of her name over and over again. "Macanee! Macanee!" The tiny one's clear blue eyes stared up at her. He had one too didn't he a name. What was it again? He tired to mimic her action of point a hoof towards himself, but only manged to cause him to fall over once more. "Bay....Bay...ard!" he giggled quite enthusiastic about it even if he was rolling on his back again. LOLTERNATIVE Tags. Aww, I'm sick now as well and I hate it. Getting sick the week before finals

Macalania flinched. There it was; that word again. Mama. What in the world was she going to do now? It seemed she was stuck with the foal until she found somewhere more suitable for him to live. "Bayard." She said his name, testing it. It was a pretty name and suited him.
She couldn't help but chuckle at the pronunciation of her name. Macanee? She snorted a little and shook her head. So this was why foals were so loved. Everything they did was cute. "Well then. A forest like this is no place for a foal." Macalnia eyed the forest and got her bearings quickly. "Let's go, Bayard. Stay close." Macalania began to walk and she wondered where the best place would be to take him. She didn't know of any herds that had minis, besides her own. Perhaps that would be the best place for him. He'd certainly be more than welcomed and looked after..

Bayard moved to his hooves getting ready to follow his mama. Though something behind him began to poke at the back of one of his hooves, causing his mind to become distracted. Turning his head over his shoulder he saw that it was something attached to him. His tail. He grew amusing with it, flicking it for a bit he giggled, after a while he found that he could curl it causing his interest to grow in the this thing attached to his behind. The fins behind his front legs caught his eyes and he tried to move them as well, but with very little luck. He could move them a little but it was much harder then the thing behind him.
"Macanee?!" he called out after seeing she had left him in the clearing.Though her movement up ahead caught his eye and he trotted towards her. Failing to step over a root during his trot he fell flat forward skidding to a stop. Dirt from his fall tickled his nose causing the small foal to sneeze.LOLTERNATIVE Sorry my muse died as well. Working full time does that to one.

Macalania turned to look over her shoulder as the little foal called out to her. Turning around, she began to make her way back to him, stopping short as he tripped and fell. She frowned a little, wondering if he'd hurt himself. What was she to do if he had? Kiss it better like she'd seen mothers do to their hurt foals? She shook her head. She wasn't a mother; not by any standards.
Bending down, she smiled at the foal. "Are you okay? You've gotta stay close to me so you don't get lost." She nudged him softly with her snout, tickling his sides a little. "Let's keep going, shall we?"
Macalania rose from the ground, stifling a groan. No matter how often she did it and how long she'd been doing it for, sitting and rising in such a small amount of time was difficult at best. But there was nothing that could be done about it so she began to walk, limbs moving slowly and landing heavily.

He didn't seem effected by his fall, only amused by it. He was quite the trooper after falling so many times. "Stay close" he repeated, mainly to himself. The little one gave a soft nod before pushing himself to his small hooves once more. "Go where mama?" he questioned.
He kept up with her, in truth after his legs were steady under him he was quite faster then his mother. Mother was slower, yet the little foal kept close as he was told. After all he didn't know where they were or where they were going, but she was his mother and he trusted her. LOLTERNATIVE Sorry once again for the delay.
