"Built on the left side of a chasm encircling the casle, the city of Lionis is home to both Dragon and Phoenix...in relative harmony.

The city itself looks gorgeous. With its rainbow of gemstone rooftops, Marble walls and clean streets, The city of Lionis has quite the otherworldly atmosphere.

The city of Lionis has a flourishing economy, which is mainly supported by trade, bringing in goods from all over the kingdoms.

Despite its strengths and weaknesses, The City of Lionis is most likely headed towards a prosperous future under the leadership of the King. But this remains to be seen.

Arielle duty as a knight never seems to end. At least that is what she forces upon herself. Her knights would think that she is absolutely nuts because they hardly ever sleep. Despite what her knights believe, they are motivated by her dedication to Lionis so she is able to muster the strength to keep with her duties. As per usual she is patrolling the town on foot keeping an eye out for troublemakers, hardened criminals or even invaders. She already has other knights patrolling certain sections so she is on her own in the center of town. So far there is no trouble occurring at all. Then again hardly anyone dares to try anything suspicious when she is around. All the while she bore this serious face that would scare kids and intimidate adults. At some point she stopped walking about aimlessly so she can take in the scenery for a moment.

The new first princess of the land rode though the city in her carriage, a white bright thing that announced her arrival and whom she was to everyone and everything that saw her coach, not that she had any problem with that, she just enjoyed the more subtle approach to things. Ursula kept her eyes closed as she rode though the streets of Lionis, her eyes covered and her feet firmly atop the seat across from her. Being en route en coach was one of the few moments in life that her entire body wasn't being assaulted by the likeness of the entire world. She couldn't see the outlines of the houses, the men cheating on their wives behind closed doors, the wives waddling around thirteen children with a stern look on their faces. She was lucky to only be one of five children...that survived anyway, she didn't have to share as much as the common folk had to.

Ursula would have been more then content to continue her relaxation in her coach if it wasn't for the sudden jolting stop that sent her butt slipping off her chair and had her instead caught on the floor between the two chairs. She heard shouting outside, angry people it seemed. Her driver came to the coach door "my lady are you alright! he called though the window and the Princess frowned slightly "I'm fine Carlen, what happened" she called out, her blindfold was starting to come off her face, showing her pretty blue eye. We hit someone m'lady, but we should be moving again soon he said, causing Ursula to grunt in reply as she started to maneuver her way out of her stuck position. Lifting her body up so she was planking between the two seats, she bent her knees and pushed herself up with her hands before twisting her hips so she could place her feet on the bottom of the coach. Taking the time to tighten the blindfold over her eyes so the blue was no longer showing the princess would scoot over to the side and open the door, letting it open before she ducted her head and took the first step out of her carriage.

Ursula took the two steps down and placed her feet on the ground, her long black dress hiding the fact that she wasn't wearing any shoes. She could see all around her. A little boy had been hit by one of the horses, but she didn't know what that problem was, he was still alive, she could feel that he was, yes some blood was coming from his arm but he wasn't dead. Turning her head slightly her face was turned toward the guard she saw with her feet What seems to be the problem? she asked the guard, not seeming to identify with the boys pain or the yelling squabbling and pecking the mother was doing.

Arielle time to stand still and watch the scenery came to a close when she heard a commotion. First it was a bump and a horse neighing. Then it was a child crying and a mom yelling. What happened was plain to see: The child ran in front of the carriage and was lucky the horse didn't kick wildly at him. The blood coming from his injuries were nothing to cry over and the mother was only making the situation worse. The young captain sighed as she approached the carriage, knelt down by the boy and took a look at his injuries. The boy who was crying suddenly stopped when she looked at the woman's serious face. It was the kind of face that commanded respect...or perhaps in his case fear. After checking the injury she stood up to the woman and said to her,

"The boy will be fine madam. Go home. I would like for the streets not to turn into a war zone. "

The mother certainly didn't want to argue with the captain of guards, although she expressed her frustration one last time by spitting at her in the face. This didn't faze the knight at all. Rather she just wiped away the spit and watched as the woman walked away angrily with her child in hand. What mattered most to Arielle was that a crisis was averted. Now she can turn her attention to the carriage and lo behold is the first princess Ursula. Thank goodness a crisis was averted. Otherwise it would've involved royalty and royalty fighting among the people isn't something that should ever happen. She engaged with the princess with a proper bow first before saying,

"Fine day to you Your Highness. Please do not worry yourself over this minor incident. It has been dealt with personally by me. Were you injured?"

Ursula frowned in the direction of the Captain of the guard "are you sure it is all alright? I heard a boy crying" she said to her, however she could already feel the ungrateful mother and the whiny little brat scampering away, what she wouldn't give to be able to smack some sense into both of them, just enough so that they would never think of whining again, at least in her eyes they wouldn't ever whine again for different reasons, after all they wouldn't have any tongues to do so with. "yes. It is fine. No one is hurt I guess" she said calmly as she shook her blindfolded head. "I am thankful for your work, with what has been happening recently I can't imagine how difficult the transitions have been...from the old family to the usurpers and to the old family again...yet it is not, with everything being different" she said to her "Thank you for your service....." Ursula let her words draw off as she did not know the name of the guard, or the face really, only the fact that the guard was a guard, and female.

"Like I said Your Highness the boy is fine. He only suffered a minor injury with minimal blood loss. His mother was simply distressed over the possibility than the boy could've been seriously injured or worse."

Arielle is no longer concerned with the boy and his mother since they will live another day regardless of what took place moments ago. Speaking of the event, she decided to check on the condition of the horse and carriage. The horse was spooked before but at for time being it has settled and the carriage hasn't been damaged whatsoever. All that is left is the well being of the princess and according to her she wasn't hurt. Wait, why is the person outside the castle without at least one guard to protect her? Doesn't she know that is dangerous? As a knight it is her sworn duty to protect the kingdom and all of its citizens, including the royalty. While kept her head bowed toward the princess as a sign of respect, she said to Ursula,

"Change is never easy Your Highness, but we must embrace it if we are ever to make progress...Forgive me if what I say next seems disrespectful Your Highness, but why are you outside the castle without a knight escorting you? I must insist that you either return to castle or take me as your guard until you finished your business here. "

Ursula frowned when she heard what Arielle said, right, Ursula was a princess now and had to go everywhere with guards. Scowling slightly Ursula said "My father just took the throne, I doubt he has even been officially crowned yet" she said to Arielle "and if he hasn't I doubt that he has been recognized as the true emperor and what not. she said, turning her head slightly which caused her long white hair to flick against her black dress.

It wasn't like she was that well known in the first place, when she was simply Lady Ursula she never stirred the water to much, after all with her activities you couldn't do so without causing ripples though the pool. "If you must then you may accompany me to the castle. I have nothing to do out here, father had just called me to the capital from our Lordly home. she said to her.

Arielle isn't concerned whether Ursula's father just received the throne nor if he hasn't been officially crowned yet. At this moment she is still a member of the royal family that is leading the empire of Lionis and if anything bad happened to her, Arielle may as well be executed and have her head delivered to the emperor on a silver platter. She searched area carefully to see if anyone dared threaten the princess, although someone as scary as Arielle is bound to keep innocents and criminals away. Once she made sure the area was secure, she pointed Ursula toward the carriage before she said to her,

"If you will Your Highness, please go back to the carriage. Then we will be on our way to the castle."

Ursula seemed to stare at the woman as she looked over in the direction of her voice, was this commoner attempting to boss her around? A small flicker of a smile came to Ursula's face as she turned to her carriage and opened the door "If you will accompany. she said to her calmly what better way to protect your princess then to stay by her side? she asked her, a slight bitterness leaking into her voice from her tongue.

Arielle didn't know what to make of Princess Ursula. Was she looking at her? The woman's face is facing toward the captain of Lionis' knights, but it is hard to tell if she is looking specifically at her since she covers her eyes with a black blindfold. If she was suppose to feel something from here, she has no way of telling since their eyes didn't meet. The princess pointed toward the carriage as she instructed the knight to accompany her inside. She complied with the request of the princess, although not before giving the coachman instructions to return to the castle once the two of them were on board. Once the two of them were on board, the ever so serious captain remained silent the entire time unless the princess spoke to her at some point during the ride back to the castle.

The weather and climate changes was a little hard to cope with especially for someone with a body as weak as Freed's. Nonetheless, he carried his heavy footsteps down the streets, his long locks of raven hair fluttering behind him as he walked. The shop was up and running, many homeless people came about though they still felt a little uneasy when they stepped into the establishment. He was glad that he's able to at least provide some help for them. They looked content and that was what he was aiming for all these while. He was sure his father would be proud of him. They were always taught to be humble, that status didn't matter, that the purpose of their power was to help others.

However, his father couldn't last long being involved with politics. Many were corrupted and eventually, even his thinking had gone array. He covered his mouth as he coughed, feeling lightheaded all of a sudden. No, what was he doing? He can't possibly collapse at a moment like this, not in the middle of town. His siblings had been worrying over his health as of late, especially during his recent travels to Ethe. Or what used to be Ethe at this point. His heart ached for the people who lost their family and he, too mourned for them. All of a sudden, his heart clenched painfully and his breath hitched. He panted heavily as he coughed once more, his features terribly pale while his eyes were bloodshot. He turned into one of the dark alley, deciding to take a shortcut back home. He wouldn't be able to last long in this weather. It'd be best for him to head home if he doesn't want to collapse in the middle of no where. His main concern wasn't being mugged by people. He had money to spare. His main concern was his family. He didn't want to worry them even further than they already are.

The rogue barbarian expressed a devilish grin as he slipped into some nearby shadows. He had just escaped from his fate. Guards were searching for him frantically and an executioner was getting impatient. He had been lucky. The men assigned to him had been hung over from a night of drinking. Their ears were sensitive to loud noises and their eyes sensitive to light. Their reflex time had slowed and their senses dulled, for the most part. Yes, he had been very lucky. All he'd had to do was trip them up and incapacitate them so he could escape. And escape he did. Sage was now blocks away from the guards and he had the upper hand. Unlike those guards, Sage knew every corner and backstreet of this golden kingdom. Or at least most of it, anyway. It had been years since he'd last been in Lionis, so things had changed. Houses weren't where they once were. People who had lived glorious lives were now deceased. But the streets remained fairly the same.

Rather than escaping the city like most prisoners would, Sage continued winding his way through the streets. He had a grave to visit. One belonging to a dear friend of his. A duke. They hadn't been that close, but the late duke of Norcross had been there for him in his darkest hour. He was responsible for the change within Sage. For bringing back his humanity. Without his help, Sage would have surely died by now. He just wished that he had gotten the chance to thank him properly. All he could do was honour the promise he had made years ago. A promise to protect and look after the duke's eldest child, Freed. Unfortunately, the brunette had no idea what Freed looked like, or where to find him in this busy city. So he decided that he would wait a few days before visiting the Norcross estate and take it from there.

Sage eventually found himself lost in the city of Lionis. He was now at the end of a long alleyway with only one other person nearby. It was just an underweight figure off into the distance, so he didn't worry about it too much. His main concern was for the collection of guards that were hot on his heels. The century years old warrior could hear the sounds of angry guardsmen nearby. He quickened his pace and when they sounded too close for comfort, he did the first thing that came to mind. He approached the stranger and wrapped an arm around their waist, roughly pulling them to him. Upon closer inspection, the stranger was a younger male with long raven tresses that fell down his back. But he didn't have time to notice much else. That could wait until later. For now he kept a tight grip on the ravenette's waist and forcibly kissed him. His back was against the wall, the bricks digging painfully into his skin, but Sage kept as still as he could while a small group of guards passed them by without giving the men a second thought. When they were finally gone and a decent amount of time had passed, he broke the kiss and have a wry smile. "With kissing skills as good as that, I may just have to keep you~" He loosened his grip a little, allowing the stranger more room to breathe.

He noticed the many gaze that he received in the alley way. Many of them were cautious, some even showing hostility. It was no surprise that he'd pose as a threat to them who were so prone to getting beaten up by the guards for simply staring a second too long. The air was heavy and the atmosphere was tensed, each one of them on edge as they watched each and every move he made. He sighed, keeping his gaze away from them as he slowly made his way through them. He could hear whispers and he was sure they were speaking horribly of nobility. That was no surprise either. People with higher social rankings tend to look down upon others. It was no wonder they, too, felt discomfort just being in his presence. He coughed, feeling the slight dizziness in his head as he supported his weight against the wall. A small child came up to him and a woman's voice could be heard not too far from them. A look of worry smeared across her features, as if he was a murderer that was about to take the life of an innocent. He could tell from her eyes, it wasn't the first thing something like this had occured. There were people who harmed them. For what? For the laughs and giggles, then they'd brag to one another about how brutally they taught these 'scumbags' a lesson. Despicable. Freed frowned but his expression softened when his gaze fell upon the little boy who's looking up at him with a bread in hand. Elijah was his name, according to the woman. He took a quick glance at the mother before returning it to the child that was now holding out his half eaten bread. The man crouched down to his eye-level, a hand gently caressing his head as a smile slowly curved his lips. They had little to nothing yet they still willingly shared what they have. They were generous. Most of them looked after one another, unlike those who have everything yet decided to trample over those they deemed weak. He reached into his garb and just before he pulled out his hand, the woman rushed forward and held her son, fear clouding her features as she desperately tried to keep him from harm. The rest were wary, keeping their distance from the duo that stood before him. They didn't want any trouble. They'd do anything they can to survive, even if it meant sacrificing a few innocent souls. Stay away, she would say. Leave my son be, she exclaimed. Her voice was quivering with fear despite the brave front she put up. Freed furrowed his eyebrows, feeling slight discomfort within the presence of a woman. Long raven locks, crimson irises. She has them. She has the few aspects of his mother that he so terribly hated but even so, he held her gaze, his expression indifferent as he took another glance at the boy that stood behind his mother. Is this what they would call the love of a mother? If only his was the same. If only his mother would just love him, even if it's just a little. He pulled his hand out from his garb and revealed the gold coins he held in his palm. The woman was confused but she seemed much less hostile than she did before. In fact, she looked surprised, as if Freed was clinical and insane. He took her hand, the sounds of coins clanking as they fell into her palm and he wohld tell her: "This is not much but it'll be enough to get you through the next few days. Head down to the new tavern in the capital city, they'll serve you food there. I promise the guards are not bold enough to rain my tavern. Do take care." with that, he watched the woman thank him before she brought her son alongside and headed down to where his tavern was located. The others too, had followed after. The young child with large crimson orbs turned around to look at him. This time, with a smile on his face as he mouthed the words "Soter", meaning savior. A soft chuckle escaped his lips at the sight and he offered a formal nod of the head as acknowledgement to his words. No. That boy was his savior. His smile allowed him to see the light in the dark days of lionis, that there was still hope for people like them to achieve the salvation and freedom they so very much wanted. He stepped out into the open once things had gotten a little hard to breathe in the alley way, his chest clenched and his breath hitched for a short moment. It was discomforting but at least it was still bearable. He leaned against the stone wall, his crimson orbs absentmindedly flicked towards the castle that was located on higher grounds. His expression darkened at the plain sight of it and his face fell. Their ruler was not as mighty as they claim to be and neither were their sons and daughters. They were imbeciles who trample over peasantries with their power and pressure those that had little to none. His attention was soon cut short by the voices of castle guards that were ordering each other to split up and search for the missing criminal. Freed simply shook his head, his fingers tapping impatiently against the wall as he watched them slowly disappear out of sight. He didn't like the guards either. Most of them were lustful and abusive. Freed had witnessed it enough to confirm such a statement. Runaway slaves, homeless people brutally beaten and taken advantage of, then being tossed aside as if they were tools to be used. Fiends. They were fiends who deserved an execution far worse than death though it seems their days are quite numbered given their current situation. It wasn't hard to tell that they had been drinking ale the night before. Their bodies reeked of alcohol as they passed by. It was rather idiotic how they can't even seem to get their jobs done right and it certainly won't be long till it was off with their heads for letting a criminal run loose. The kingdom would be much better off without useless imbeciles such as them. It would be so much better. With a small huff, he returned into the alley way and continued on his journey back home.

It was then, his sight went black and the man stumbled in his footsteps, startling the few strays that lingered in the dark. He stood up on his wobbly legs, feeling the weight of gravity pushing against him. He felt lightheaded and warm, a little too warm for a person to handle. This feeling only makes him want to return home even sooner so he could get a good rest and most of all, to not worry his siblings even further. They suspected his live would be short-lived if this were to carry on. With tragedies that struck the kingdoms as of late, the plague that struck lionis previously along with the recent eruption of Mt. Adara, it wouldn't be much of a surprise if his body reaches its limit the next time a tragedy struck Lionis. There were sounds of footsteps approaching and he assumed it was one of the few homeless who wandered about searching for coins. What was he going to do? Mug him? Murder him for the few coins he carried on him? He turned around, crimson orbs peeking cautiously beneath his long raven locks. "Who goes th-" everything happened all to quickly that Freed didn't even have the time to finish what he wanted to say. He was grabbed by the arm, forcefully shoved up against a wall. Pain shot through his back once he felt the corner of a protruding brick digging into his back. Mugger? No. His foot aimed for the man's shadow, attempting to stop his movements but it seems before he's able to do so, something warm had pressed against his lips. Who is he even kidding? A man being a target of a sexual predator? "What are yo-" he muttered, "Stop-" Freed gritted his teeth and stuggled to break free from his grasp though with his weakened state, it was impossible for freed to put up a fight and in the end, there he stood, motionlessly as he felt a wave of disgust washing over his entire being. There were guards passing by but for a man as stubborn as he was, he'd rather die than be rescued by one of those fiends. No. In fact, he was sure they'd join in on this little 'fun'. By the time they parted lips, his vision was blurred, and his irises flickered maliciously at the sight of his wry smile. Disgusting. He wiped his lips with the back of his hand, finding the aftertaste that lingered about utterly repulsive. The following words that came after the little assault tipped him over the edge. "Y-You fiend!" he shoved the man away, stumbling backwards in his footsteps himself. His raven locks draped messily down the sides of his face, his features as pale as sheet as sweat slowly trickled down his forehead. The man with a relatively large built stood before him, a man with brown locks and grey irises. What did he want from him? He carried nothing valuable and he's the least likely person to give away the location of his house. There's nothing to gain from attacking him and Freed wishes that he'd just leave him be and go on his merry way. "What-.. do you want." was what he managed to utter as he begun to cough uncontrollably. His chest felt painful and his knees felt weak. No. Not here. He took a couple of breaths but even so, it seems his health had gotten the best of him. It didn't take long to feel as if he was suffocating. He knelt on the ground, his expression twisting in pain as he so desperately tried to regain his composure. His vision blurred and everything appeared foggy. What happened next, he can't remember at all. Mugged or not, he didn't care. As long as his family remained unharmed, he was fine.

The smile slowly fell from the barbarian's lips as he was shoved away. He lifted his hands in a sign of surrender, not recognising the name sent his way. Fiend? Although the word was foreign to his archaic mind, the message was clear. This man was repulsed by his actions. Not that Sage cared at all what the ravenette thought of him. He was just another person to be used and discarded soon after. He was just someone who helped him escape the guards. He wasn't important. So by all accounts, Sage would have gladly left him alone after being shoved away so harshly. But when the noble started coughing violently, he paused. He inched closer, but still kept a respectable distance as he observed the scene. What was happening? Was this man ill? The brunette groaned with impatience when the raven haired man collapsed. He couldn't just leave him there. It wasn't that he had suddenly grown a conscience. He just felt like he owed it to the guy to at least take him to a safe place until he woke up. Upon closer inspection, the male was quite attractive. Sure, he appeared sickly and pale, but his features were handsome. Delicate, even. Just his type if he were interested. Unfortunately, he didn't take pleasure in violating unconscious people. He'd wait for them to waken first. Sage gave a small growl and lifted the noble, carrying him over his shoulder as he started walking, leaving the scene. His eyes glared at anyone who looked in their direction, just daring them to interfere. And none did. He intended to take this noble to the Norcross estate, the only safe place he knew of. And the very place he had been heading for, anyway. He would decide what to do with the male, later. For now they had to leave. ((Exit))
