Survey Mission 3BGeneral debriefing: Children have been reported missing for a continuous span of two weeks recurring in *YOU CHOOSE A CITY/LOCATION*. Witnesses claim that they have seen them last at various attractions in the area, though their bodies have yet to be found. Dispose of whatever is kidnapping the children and rescue the children if possible. * C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee) MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3A. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a HALLOWEEN ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: You and your group have snuck into the theme park after hours, but you don't see anything out of the ordinary. 21 - 40: You notice that even though the rides and displays should have been turned off, there is the strange echo of music, and odd flickering lights from the corner of your eyes. 41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight. 61 - 80: You noticed engraved onto a display next to you an odd symbol, a strange spiral that rotates backwards in a hooked arc. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - In the darkness, it seems easier to spot the poltergeist, though its form occasionally flickers in and out. It realizes that your team is by far friendly, and begans to throw various objects at you. - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss has 50 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back. The poltergeist reveals at the very end that these children have already been taken. * 3 mission reward points for completing this successfully

Bix had been in the cafeteria munching on an apple and doing not much of anything at all. He was already hanging out with his buddy Gale but the two of them were glued to their phones, scrolling through missions and various other Deus crap. The twitter thing was kind of fun and filled their time. "Let's do a mission." Bix nudged Gale and yawned. "It's open still. We need three people though. Should I call Before or something?" Of course just as he mentioned it one of the new trainees walked by. And she was cute. "Oh.. HEY! Trainee! Umm.. whats your name?" Bix grabbed the dark haired girl by the corner of her sleeve. "Very important umm.. intermediate trainee business. We need you for a mission." He gave Gale a winkwink, thinking his plan to be genius. Rope sexy trainee into a mission? Foolproof plan to meet women.

Sasha had been almost-skipping to the library when she was intercepted by a young sir with impossibly long pale hair. That was the first thing that Sasha noticed. The second thing she noticed was that he was touching her sleeve. Even Nona perked up a bit, cooing over his hair - though the younger teenager was adeptly ignored by the weapon. Seems Nona did have a set of morals, loose as they were.
"I-ah.. I'm Sasha," she stuttered, eyes wide as she stared at him. "M-mission? I ah... I was on my way to the library." Did that sound like a lame attempt at an excuse? Probably. She completely missed the way he winked at his friend.
<Nonsense. Going to the library in hopes of seeing Jerry? No. My little dove needs experience in the field, not experience giggling with a man she -->
Shush, Nona, fine. The weapon made a valid point, after all.
<Most excellent, little bird. Of course Nona is right.>
"The library can... it can wait." She cleared her throat and offered a wibbly smile.

"Good. I'm Bix. This is Gale." He poked Gale with his thumb. "I know how awesome the library is, but we are going to the real world. Without supervision. That's even better right?" Her wibbly smile was met with a beaming grin of reassurance. He was working on being some sort of fearless leader. it only seemed to work on people that didn't know him. The albino hunter rose from his chair and scrolled through his phone. "Looks like we are going to umm... Philadelphia. So it should be chilly this time of year but not too cold. Meet us at the Lighthouse portal in an hour, alright?"

Sasha couldn't help but be excited by the prospect of going on a mission with what looked to be two kindly hunters. Bix was certainly nice enough, and Gale was young and rather adorable.
"The real world?" She perked slightly. Bix's reassuring smile was working wonders on the young woman. When she was told to meet them at the Lighthouse portal she nodded briskly and headed back in the direction she'd come, towards her dorm.
"I'll be there," Sasha called brightly over her shoulder. This could prove to be exciting, to say the least!

"We just got back from a mission," came the half mumbled reply to Bix's original declaration, Gale's mouth full of a bagel and cream cheese, with strawberry jelly smeared haphazardly across it - breakfast of the champions, clearly. He flicked his eyes up towards his best mate, giving the albino a slightly exasperated look. He knew exactly why Bix had grabbed the sleeve of the new trainee, and he rolled his eyes inwardly.
"A pleasure," he said to Sasha, once he had swallowed his mouthful of bagel and had given Bix a mildly dirty look - so not subtle, Bix. He vaguely recognized the dark haired girl from before, though he hand't ever heard her name before. But now he filed it away in his mind for later use.
He let Bix do the introductions and the rundown, and as they walked away, Gale slanted a gaze up at the albino.
"You're not nearly as smooth as you think," he murmured, and sighed, hooking his thumbs into the belt loops of his trousers, letting Bix lead the way. "Philadelphia? What's going on in Philadelphia? It's not that mission about the missing children, is it?"

"But I'm smoother than you think." Bix laughed a bit. He nodded in acknowledgement when Gale inquired about the missing children. The mission was still posted and so he would do it. "I figure, why not?" Not to mention his particular weakness for things missing-child related. Most people weren't aware of his little brother's disappearance years ago. Bix wasn't searching for the truth anymore but if he could help other people he would do his best. "I'll see you in an hour. And the cute girl." He gave a goofy smile with his tongue sticking out. ----- The hour passed and Bix was waiting by the portal all decked out for a mission. He was still playing on is phone, twittering something or other wand waiting for his team mates to show up.

Sasha showed up to the lighthouse portal with a few minutes to spare. She was a little surprised to see Bix there. Surprised and ... pretty excited. Sasha was beyond thankful that she seemed to have met someone responsible. It was kind of a relief. After the last ordeal with Julie in the sewers, Sasha was ready for a little bit of structure. Like a giddy little kid, Sasha rolled up. She'd gotten a pair of pants - yes, pants - for this particular mission. They were a little big and baggy (they were all the quartermaster had, and Sasha owned no pants herself preferring dresses and the like), but beggars couldn't be choosers. She immediately stood a little too close to Bix, breathing heavily. "I ran here," she wheezed, pink cheeked with bright eyes. It was obvious that Sasha might be a little too excited. Just a little.

"Believe what you want to believe," Gale murmured, this time really rolling his eyes. "And right, right, don't forget your scarf."
----
An hour later Gale arrived at the portal, dressed in his usual uniform and still winding his own scarf around his neck. He gave Sasha a slightly hesitant, uncertain smile. He still wasn't very good at talking with girls - even Candace, who was probably the one he was closest to - sometimes made him nervous, but he rather hoped he'd be able to be...less awkward...eventually.
Even if she was standing really very close to Bix.
<< You're so amusing. >>
Hush up, you.
"Are we all ready to go, then?" asked Gale, glancing from one first then to the other, sliding his hands into the pockets of his pants.

"Whoah." Bix jumped as Sasha zoomed over to him. She's definitely enthussssiasstic.. Mina hissed. "Yeah pretty excited huh?" Bix straightened as Gale came over too. He was glad to see them both ready and on time. The hunter stashed his phone in his pocket. "I guess this is your first external mission? Well easy peasy.. step through the portal!" As per usual Bix took a look at both of them, yelled "RACE YA!" And took off through the portal. They emerged in some sort of theme park, though it was deserted. Bix glanced all around but didn't initially see any of the telltale signs that were so obvious at the other mission locations. "So far so good.." He commented aloud before he was shoved. "Gale jeesus.." He turned to shove the younger hunter back, only to find he hadn't come out of the portal yet. "Uhhh..."

Sasha gave an eager nod in response to Bix's question. "Yes, my first." She looked slightly taken aback when he yelled, turning to glance at Gale curiously before offering him a smile and a shrug. The portal awaited! One through it didn't take Sasha's eyes long to adjust to the dim light. Her eyes widened as she drank in the sights, colors and shapes around her. She had to wonder what kind of place this was - they'd had small traveling carnivals back home but.. nothing quite like this. She opened her mouth to ask Bix exactly where they were. Something moved out of the corner of her eye before she could ask. Before she could realize what she was looking at, the flickering creature gave a hellish shriek an instant before it threw a small mallet at her. It missed, landing harmlessly a short distance from Sasha. "Uhh.. what.. what is that, Bix? Gale?"

"Oh s**t!" Bix ducked something being thrown only then to be hit by something else. "Barely got a look around. Well Sasha, here's the quick version of investigating. KILL IT!"
Bix summoned his bow in a thought just to be hit in the head with with a small child's chair. It made him stumble. He retaliated with a volley of arrows. They pinned into the poltergeist with a sizzle of energy but the being disappeared again and his arrows also faded.
"Let's make this quick." He confidently nodded to his team mates. "We have your back Sasha." He and Gale were both long distance fighters! She was going to have to get in this thing's face.

Short and to the point. It was easy to follow orders when orders were being given by someone who didn't seem to hesitate. The simple fact that both Bix and Gale were at her back and attacking as well was more reassuring than Sasha could say.
Running forward Sasha immediately summoned her weapon. Nona sang as Sasha used her to hook into the flickering ghost, her voice lifting in a pleased song as she served her purpose. Each sink of the hooks had Nona trilling higher and higher until it was almost impossibly high - a terrible, seductive song laced with death and destruction.

"I am not raci - hey!"
And then they were all leaping through the portal, Gale rolling his eyes.
The theme park on the other side was deserted. The lights were dim, the rides looking extraordinarily despondent and pathetic, with signs smeared in rain and a low, eerie creaking sound as a small wind gusted through, rattling several of the rides.
They did not get far into their investigation. Something small and black careened out of the shadows, and all at once there were things being flung at them from all sides, the creature darting around with a malicious sort of cackling laugh, a high, screechy sound that sent Gale's nerves on end.
He glanced at Bix, and then at Sasha. Something collided with the side of his head, and Gale staggered, seeing stars.
That was unpleasant.
<< Get your a** in gear already! >>
He didn't waste another second. Gale's left hand shot out and within seconds the light had flashed and the rifle was in place. He swung it up, darting around to the opposite side of where Bix was and fired off several rounds, the bangs of the gun oddly loud in the unnerving silence of the park.
We've got your back.
"It's slowing down a bit," Gale shouted, and slipped around it again, firing off a few more shots.

Bix loosed another volley of arrows into the creature before it flickered away once again. He felt a shove behind him again, like before, but this time he was hit hard enough to face plant into the ground. It felt like someone trampled over his back before he was left alone.
