Rings in zOMG! are broken into four different categories: Attack, Crowd Control, Buff, and Healing. Some rings may be considered to fit into two categories when they are used at higher rage levels.
Attack rings can be broken down into two different categories: Ranged, and Melee.
Ranged:
When an attack ring is referred to as ranged, it means that the attack can be made from a distance. What that distance is depends on the ring you use.
Solar Rays
This ring focuses the power of the sun to attack your targets. It has an extremely long range and you can hit your target at about 2/3rds of the screen away. If you use it at higher rage levels, it may also put the target to sleep for a couple seconds and knock them back. So, when somebody asks you not to use knockback, don't use this ring at higher rage levels. Another thing Solar Rays does is to protect you from the Grue hidden in the darkness of Deadman's Pass and Deadman's Shadow. The Grue is a random instant death dealer to those who do not have this ring equipped.
Shuriken
This ring shoots out a set of throwing stars at your target. It's range is not so great, but it does have other bonuses at higher rage levels. It will harm your target and any other target in the same vicinity as the original target when used at higher rage levels. It also gives your target an accuracy debuff because they're a bit busy trying not to squiggle around too much as the pointy stars will chafe them even further if they do.
Shark Attack
This ring sets a swarm of land sharks against your target. Not only do they damage your target, they also cause your target to bleed out causing more damage over time, or DoT. This ring has about the same range of attack as Shuriken. At higher rage levels, Shark Attack can cause larger amounts of DoT, and may even lock the target in place.
Hunter's Bow
This ring has the longest range of all the rings. It can attack a target from clear across the entire screen.
