In times of late, with a boost of power and confidence, Eternal Sailor Remarque had found himself testing his luck. He ventured to more populated areas to gather energy at times other than the dead of the night. He had been out since seven, today, and had more energy than he knew what to do with. His mirror wraiths—be it his imagination only—looked phenomenally bloated, and he could have sworn one of them glared at him when he summoned it for a fourth time that evening.

Not to mention the two hundred and eight dollars he’d plucked straight from the pockets of his more nefarious, then-unconscious volunteers.

Was it immoral to rob from someone you’d already drained of energy?

…Only if you gave two shits about it.

It was their own fault for making it so damn easy, anyway—and, hell, maybe they’d learn to stay out of dark alleyways.

Remarque was whistling a rather pleasant tune quite complacently. He walked with a little spring in his step and looked harmless enough—minus his energy signature and odd outfit—as he continued his search for energy.

It was easy to say Ate was having a hard time. With the deaths she had caused, attacks, the beatings. She was on a ticket straight to hell...well a fuzzy sort of senshi hell at least. She didn't know what would happen if the guardians would find out about her, or the princesses. Would they strike her of her title? Would they banish her back to her desolate planet? Would they kill her? Her brow furrowed at this thought. They could try but she wouldn't go easy that's for dam sure! "Uhhh NO!" Punching the wall she cursed herself. She was actually contemplating beating up the princesses now? Winning even? Defeating them? What was she? What sort of White moon senshi was she?

A real crappy one.

Her heart felt like it was going to burst, how could she do this. How could she have let herself become like this? This wasn't her? Sure she beat people up before her awakening but not like this. She wasn't a killer. And now she was actively looking for events that would lead to such a thing, negaverse, dark mirror, civilian. She wasn't picky she would fight them all. Dam she had even fought her own side.

God, a real, real crappy one.

Her world was messed up, she felt like walking and never stopping. She would have done if it wasn't for the whistling of Remarque, the sudden smell of chaos energy that filled her nose. She was getting worse at spotting enemies! Twice this had happened now. How she need a break! Sadly not tonight though, tonight she could try and gain some of her credibility by at least beating up the right sort of bad guy.

"Beautiful night for energy gathering wouldn't you say? Shame i have to put an end to it right now!" Stepping out she looked the guy up and down slowly. He was decorated beautifully, an aura around him that glowed and shone with strength, which could only mean one thing. "s**t". Her head might not have be in the game but she knew a more powerful opponent when she saw one. "Double s**t"

Almost lazily, Remarque rolled his head to look at her. While he meant to give her a quick look over, he ended up lingering on some of her finer assets and was inclined to let out a different sort of whistle—this one both approving and flirtatious.

“Is that so?” he prompted. “Because, looking at you, I can’t really see how that’s a shame at all. I was getting a little bored and, well. I can say this is a rather pleasant surprise. We haven’t met before, you are…?”

The Dark Mirror Senshi didn’t really seem to have a care in the world at the moment; it wasn’t that he didn’t perceive the scout in front of him as being trouble, but with the way his day had been so far—how could this be bad? Sure, if it had been some less attractive senshi he might have been a bit disappointed, but even then he could at least look forward to a fight.

Ate took the comment with a pinch of salt. In this getup she was surprised she didn’t get hit on by Youma with the lack of material! And how she didn’t fall out – cellotap was a god send! Even though she couldnt help but smile, even if it didn’t reach her eyes. He was after all a lot tougher than her, the fight hadn’t even happened yet but she could see where it was going to end up.

Jutting out a hip she allowed every curve to be viewed before shaking her head slowly, black ringlets bouncing as she showed of her perly whites in an devilish smile. Well if she was going to get beaten to a pulp she might as well have some fun too.

“Its going to be regretful to prove you wrong. Its not often I get to see a Dark Mirror soldier looking so…tasty. Am Super Sailor Ate, Senshi of Pollution. I feel almost awful saying this but tonight your going down Sailor, and not in the way I want most.”

The interpretation could go either way but Ate meant all of them and none. She was regretful. Regretful he was a Dark Mirror Senshi, regretful she was of the White Order. Regretful they couldn’t just be meeting up in a bar and going back to her place. But sadly the world had other ideas and for now she had to abide by them. Even if it pissed her off doing so.

“As my name suggests gorgeous, this is going to get messy!”

One of Remarque’s brows quirked up, however the cocky, sly smile planted on his face never shifted. The flirting, he rather enjoyed. It wasn’t that Raven didn’t keep him on his toes, but Remarque—very proud of his looks—was always pleased when someone else noticed.

He hadn’t met far too many senshi who had not needed a brief introduction to the Dark Mirror Court, so he wonder who had been given the pleasure of enlightening her. “Ah. Well then.”

He spoke smoothly, mirthfully even, never missing a pace. “Eternal Sailor Remarque,” he introduced, “Dark Mirror Senshi of Puppetry. I didn’t bring a change of clothes, Ate, so you’ll have to forgive me. I don’t really like doing any dirty work, but if you’re interested in a tussle, I suppose I can oblige. I can’t just say no to a pretty lady, even if she is asking me to kick her a**.”

The Super Senshi knew this fight wasn’t going to be easy, if anything she was going home with a few broken bones if she didn’t watch what she was doing. But that didn’t mean she didn’t love a challenge. Ate lived for fighting and the more equal, the more powerful the opponent the better. She no longer saw the younger agents as a threat and if anything she allowed them to get on with their energy collecting in peace. They weren’t big enough fish for her yet, so no matter what they were doing - no matter how wrong, it just didn’t even enter her radar. But this guy? This guy was all over that radar.

“Heh, it going to be a shame messing up that pretty face of yours too, but you know, times are tough and baby its just about to get so much worse.”

Her words had barely left her lips as she jumped started, racing forward with two fists tightly clenched and her eye on his jaw. If she had known who she was fighting she would have taken on a different approach but fast and furious had aided her in the past, there was no reason why it wouldn’t now.

Between their unknown meeting at the gym a long time has passed, Venice was stronger physically and Ate was more powerful magically. It still didn’t mean she could defeat the eternal senshi before her but she would give it a dam good go. Arms up she jabbed out, two peppered punches with her left and then a forceful punch with the right. It would be a miracle if they hit but still she put all her weight behind each one.

Sometimes there were sacrifices that had to be made in battle—take a blow to get one in. Remarque had allowed many a senshi to knock him one in return for an opening. With Ate, he wasn’t even sure he had to take a hit. Her moves were, no doubt, packed with power, though his history in the ring had given him an advantage in hand-to-hand combat. Instinctively he had drawn his right arm up to deflect her left punches, and from there just twisted to avoid her other fist. His left hand, otherwise rather unengaged, curled into a fist.

The distance had quickly been closed between the two, but in all his years of boxing, Remarque had loved nothing more than the adrenaline rush from a quick match. With a senshi, the stakes were raised, and maybe in his civilian form he’d have had a bit more hesitance with fighting a girl—but Ate had made it very clear that she was looking for a fight.

Remarque wasn’t a man who ever aimed to disappoint.

Closing the last bit of distance between them, he plowed his fist into her gut. It was here that he might have been willing to take a blow; certainly the closeness left him vulnerable to any attacks from the senshi, but that hit—that sensation of his fist grinding against her flesh. That was worth it.

Taking advantage of their closeness, he spoke softly into the girl’s ear: “Cute, but if you don’t up your game, it looks like I’ll be the only one having fun.”
PostPosted: Thu Apr 12, 2012 4:01 pm

The blow to the stomach was all it took for the air to be ripped from her lungs. She could feel his fist grinding in, causing maximum damage as she gasped not only in pain but sheer surprise. Not that she wasn’t expecting some sort of attack right back but it was just the speed of it. He was fast, and not just because of his higher upgrade, his body was toned and poised for fighting. This was not going to be easy. This was going to be very, very hard.

And Ate didn’t want it any other way.

A small shiver replaced the pounding pain of her abdomen as she listened to his words. If anyone was to see them they could be mistaken to think the couple were in an awkward embrace, and the smile that flickered across her lips could only assure that to be so. If it wasn’t for her knee racing up to meet his crotch that is. Connecting was a sure thing, padding was not. She knew some Negaverse agents that had the full works down below, cup and everything. Maybe based on the fact that one too many girls had panicked and hit them where it hurt she didn’t know. Not that Ate was a panicking little senshi girl that is. She just knew how to appreciate an opportunity when presented and with this close proximity it seemed such a shame to waste it.

Plus any movement he made backwards meant she could rise back up and try another attract, with maybe a little bit more success this time.

“Heh, if you carry on teasing me with your hits then am defiantly not going to have any fun at all!” She aimed another two punches his way while being on more tentative grounds. He hit fast and he hit hard. There was no escaping that but she could at least dodge the worst of them.

She hoped.

It was a good thing Remarque wasn’t particularly interested in having children, because at the rate he was getting his junk messed up, he wasn’t going to be able to have any. This was the second incident in a fairly short time period where he’d found a senshi attacking his most vital region and—yeah, sure, maybe he set himself up for it this time by being so close to the girl, but hell for people who claimed to be the good guys, they sure as hell fought dirty.

Once more he felt the unpleasant blend of stabbing and burning radiating from his groin and shoot through his nerves. Black bled into his line of vision, obscuring his sight; he hadn’t seen either of Ate’s fists racing towards them but certainly felt them when the first hit him.

While he’d never admit to being grateful for the punch, it was at least enough to knock him out of his painful stupor. It had been a good reminder that he couldn’t just take a few damn seconds and try to recuperate after getting kneed in the crotch.

An ice pack would have been nice, or something to take the lump out of his throat or make his stomach flop back to normal, but those were all things he was going to have to worry about when he got home. After he had paid this girl her dues.

Her hit was strong, though compared to the power and pain her knee had brought him had little effect other than drawing him back into the battle. His lip curled and he sneered, hand curling into a fist as he flung it back in her direction.

The closeness left both of them open to attacks from the other, and Remarque was a bit disadvantaged already dealing with a blow below the belt; the most logical thing to do was put some distance between the two of them until the pain ebbed a bit and he could function properly.

He doubted he’d be out for much longer tonight after he dealt with this girl, but he’d be damned if he let her know how much that had ******** hurt. “Well then,” he growled, first swinging, “You tell me when you’re having fun.

Ate responded with a triumphant shout as she saw her punches land home. It didn’t have the desired effect of knocking his head from his shoulders but the slight stagger that triggered after her hits were satisfying enough, if not unfortunately short lived. He was soon back on his feet, gaining a second wind as if from nowhere, his damaged nether regions seeming a thing of the past. She looked disappointed as he swung a fist towards her – he could at least cried a little before jumping right back in!

Trying to swiftly move away the punch still grazed her face, catching the side of Ate’s cheek with four solid knuckles. The pain was quick to strike before turning into a dull burning pain. Dam, even more bruises for the ever expanding collection. Falling back into a defensive pose she humoured the idea of throwing a sludge ball his way but with the speed he was moving she would be lucky if she could call it forth, but she could at least ********, nice hit blondie, I got to admit you are more entertaining than some of those other losers that join your cause. There was one a few weeks ago, Virtus?...Vigin? I can’t remember his name, little s**t with no fighting skill whatso ever. Really trying to scrape the bottom of the trash can your queen isn’t she, willing to take on anything that breaths? That reminds me…is he still breathing after I ******** him over?”

The words were meant to sting, knowing the BMC wasn’t as large as the White Moon Court it was more likely that each member knew the other. It was a chance she was willing to take as her hands slowly moved into position. Distracting him was her only hope if she was to call out her attack without him striking her down first. But maybe she shouldn’t be pissing him off first.

The conversation was a much desired break and Remarque intended to take full advantage of a few seconds of recuperation. Not that he liked what Ate was saying or anything; he found his lips curling into a slight sneer as she spoke. Naturally he felt disdain with being compared to the ‘other losers’, as Remarque’s opinion of himself was quite far from that claim.

But then, she had to go and mention Virtus. Remarque could handle badmouthing Ares, perhaps because he hadn’t spoken to his queen and had developed little relation to her—or, perhaps, because he figured she could take care of herself. But Virtus? Remarque often related Virtus to a puppy, and after that training session he’d had with him a short while back, Remarque very much understood that he had no fighting skills whatsoever. And he very much understood how easy it would have been to beat the s**t out of him.

He couldn’t imagine there had been much fun in that at all; Virtus neither knew how to fight nor seemed to want to, but Ate taunting him about it?

It wasn’t in his nature to stick his neck out for someone unless he could get something from it, but Remarque felt vaguely protective over Virtus. It wasn’t his domain in the slightest—let Navi take care of her boyfriend, or let Leto, caretaker of all the newbies, keep a watchful eye on him. And yet, anger trickled through his veins. Virtus was a good guy—practically useless—but Ares had awakened him, and contrary to whatever Ate said, Remarque was inclined to believe that she had a purpose for Virtus.

“Oh. That was you who busted up Virtus?” he asked, hand balling into a fist again. “I’m sure you must be real proud of yourself for that. Too bad it’s not much to gloat about. He’s still new. But don’t worry,” Jett promised, eyes narrowing. “He’s still learning. I’m sure he’ll be able to repay you for knocking him around soon enough. But in the mean time? I certainly don’t mind getting a few licks in for him.”

He lunged, then, sufficiently able to ignore the pain from Ate’s finer blows by distracting himself with thoughts of how good it was going to feel when his fist collided with her face. He didn’t know exactly what she was doing—and probably should have been paying more attention—but he aimed his fist towards her gut and another hand towards her ear, hoping to box her hard enough to disorient her—or at least piss her off.

Remarque was right, fighting with Virtus had not been fun. Far from it. It had been boring and useless. She gained nothing from their scrap unless you involved her destroyed moral compass (which Ate had provably smashed over his head). Yeah it had affected her, yeah it bit down at her guilty conscious knowing what she could do to someone weaker, but she had soon put that behind her and it she found it easy to do so.

She did enjoyed fighting tough opponents, opponents she could learn from but if she needed to she could lower her standards. If anything Virtus had reminded her never to be weak, at least she could give him a margin of respect for that.

Bearing her teeth she watched the verbal punches leave their mark, saw the fury in his eyes as he spat words right back at her. God she was good at being a b***h.

“Heh, I look forward to this supposed beating by the runt. A weak soldier is a dead one. I helped him, you should be ******** thankful. I let him know that the world your ******** over is not all pretty and pink and the white moon senshi are not going to stand back any more and let you rape all that’s good. Virtus will be the first of many under my fists.”

She couldn’t get any more words out, she saw him leap, racing towards her with speed born from fury as he aimed blows towards her. Her hand caught her stomach, she had tensed seeing where his limbs were moving but it didn’t stop the gulp of air escaping from her lungs. She felt the power behind his fist and was grateful she could at least protect herself in this small way as she bent over. Any other human would have been out for the count and yet it wasn’t over. Head snapping further forward with his following hit, she cringed with pain, even her teeth were rattling. But she was in a more vulnerable spot now, her back exposed, a weak spot exposed. She needed to move, and move fast. And sometimes there was only one way to go and that was forwards.

She rammed herself into his stomach, like an undignified rugby tackle she pushed him back with her shoulder. Every ounce of muscle and weight was put behind the force as she gained to topple him over. If anything she could escape out of this current situation and regain a defensive pose. She wasn’t giving up just yet but the time was coming. She knew she wasn’t going to win but she wasn’t stupid. If she wanted to make any difference she knew when to fight and when to run.

And right now she needed running shoes.

There were rules, in the ring. Rules Jett mostly followed.

That was not a legal move, at least not in his book.

It didn’t matter if he was an eternal senshi or great with his fists—he hadn’t been focusing on his balance and it had come back to bite him in the a**. Ate was clearly not a weak girl, and that shove she delivered was enough to send Remarque flying backwards. Not only did it do a fine job of putting a few feet between the two, but it also knocked him off his feet. He cursed as the blow knocked him backwards, and again when he hit the cement floor beneath him.

For a brief moment there was a searing pain from the base of his spine and he knew that his tailbone was going to be sore for days. It wasn’t a dangerous injury, though it was enough to massively annoy him. He let out a rather loud, rather vulgar swear, glaring at the senshi even as he cringed from the impact. “You’re so self-righteous that you can’t even look in the ******** mirror and see what you are, can you? Is that how morphed, how twisted the white moon has made you? People like you disgust me. At least we have dignity, at least we don’t prey on the weak. But you know what? You do that. You do that as much as you want, because Ate? It doesn’t matter how many weaklings you go after.” His eyes were cold as they locked with hers. “Someone will always be stronger than you. And someone will always be around to remind you of your place. You started this fight, and I’m more than willing to finish it—and you.”

The cheer of triumph was barely withheld as Ate felt the body shift from before her and fall. She seriously did not expect an outcome like that. Hell she would have been happy just winding him but an actual achievement in her favour was something not to be sniffed at. The victory pose she mustered was.

“Ha, skinny a** b***h!” Her hand started picking invisible dust particles from her collar as she glared and laughed to herself. She was being sneaky of course, her eyes were quickly searching for the bruise she was sure to have. The guy’s stomach was a solid rock.

His words bounced off stubborn ear drums as she continued to grin, her hands flexing outwards as she prepared to call forth her attack. It didn’t hit her straight away, the usual pang of guilt and moral injustices she felt after her flaws were revealed and her mind thought up the necessary nasty retort - the Dark Mirror Senshi being nothing but a lie, a pathetic excuse for a team, how fugly they all were etc, etc. But nothing came. For once she was quite stunned. Had she really fallen so far? Was she just dragging the name of the white moon senshi kicking and screaming though the mud? Was this team, who she thought was truly cruel and lawless, actually think of her as the monster? …well, s**t.

Her hand wavered slightly, the tingly of her powers easing off as she let the enchanted words float away. Was this really her? Was this her true path? A monster? She knew the answer of course, but right up until the last moment Ate was still a stubborn fool. She would remind herself one day she did fight against it, even if it was only for a second.

Her eyes became hooded, shadows playing across her features as she glared down at the boy once more. He was like a viper ready to strike and she could tell he was aiming for her neck. There were no if, ands or butts, this would not end well for her, not if she didn’t get out now.

“Heh wow…haha…you know they say revelations’ happen at the most strangest moments. That it can take a while to work it all out, you know get use to it.” Her body began to tense as she prepared herself to leap, run, tuck and roll, anything that would get her out of harms way. Her eyes watching him like a hawk with a flip knife. He was pissed off, that much she could see. “But oh sweetie, my mind has never been so clear! I guess I have you to thank for that with you tasteful words – ha! Me and you should party, I could teach that dirty mouth a thing or two…although you are wrong about one thing. What I do…”

She jumped back suddenly, meters appearing between them as she crouched again for another jump. “What I do is not in the name of the leaderless and worthless White Moon Court, nor the incompetent dignity of a Dark Mirror Queen, no, not me, not this Senshi I will be answering to a much higher calling. You, as I’ve said, have reminded me of my one true place.”

With a grunt of exhaustion Ate lunged back, her body free-falling into the darkness as she back flipped into shadows. The pitter-patter of wedged heels chasing her quickly away.

Though Ate left, Remarque was still quick to get back on his feet. There was a sort of vulnerability from being on the ground, and even if he didn’t really intend to chase after her, he wasn’t just going to lie around and wait for someone else to come pick a fight.

Brushing himself off, Remarque gave himself a quick check; he wasn’t in any real pain, sans the throbbing between his legs, but at the rate he was getting kicked in the nads, he was going to be totally numb down there sometime soon. Getting home and getting to a bag of ice was sounding like a pretty good idea. There was a mirror nearby that was just calling his name. Though he was certain he could take Ate if she changed her mind and wanted to pick back up where they’d left off, he figured he’d done enough for tonight and could go home feeling accomplished.

The girl’s final words, however, replayed in his head as he made his way to the mirror. She hadn’t appeared to be pulling his leg when she’d insulted the White Moon, and her demeanor implied that maybe she really did sense she had a higher calling away from them. Remarque had brushed off her insult on the Dark Mirror Court; there wasn’t anything better, but at least she had agreed that the White Moon was far from perfect—and that was at least a step in the right direction.
