Bix had been on his way out to train. His FEAR attacks weren't up to snuff so he needed to work on his aim a bit. The albino hunter was pretty deep in thought when he passed a bustling hulk of a trainee leaving the grounds. He thought nothing of it really as he stepped out onto the turf of the training fields. The albino hunter was nearing the dummies when he spotted a white coated form in the grass. No one seemed to be helping them so Bix rushed over. He had to turn him over to realize that it was Gale. There were signs of a spar but usually they never got this far. It was also usually courteous to help the loser get some medical attention or just give them a hand to their room. What had happened here? "Gale?" Bix patted his cheek.

The first thing that Gale thought upon hearing that familiar, concerned voice was if this is heaven, then I'm in big trouble.
The second thought had something to do with pain, but since he had a lot of that already, it wasn't exactly unusual, nor surprising, especially considering the circumstances. He'd been in pain before Rep had decided to throw his little temper tantrum, and regardless of the fact that Gale had only halfheartedly fought back, the man could throw a hit when he wanted to.
His head hurt.
"What," mumbled Gale, the word sounding oddly garbled as he forced his eyes open.
Then he promptly closed them again.
"You're too loud."

Bix was sort of shifting around Gale on all sides. Should he move him? Leave him? Should he go to the infirmary? Was this something that a good sleep would fix? "Sorry.. Who did this?" He actually did drop his voice, concerned and not in the mood for his normal teasing and ribbing. "Can you get up? I'll carry you like a new bride if I have to." Bix was relieved there wasn't blood or any obvious gory wounds. He wasn't the best with that stuff and he'd hate to have to go find someone and layeth the smack down. Though he still may feel the need anyway...

Gale cracked one eye open again, lifting his arm - slowly - to rub at his head with his gloved fingers. The sun was feeling absurdly bright. It was hurting his eyes.
Well. Everything hurt, so that wasn't really new.
"Me," said Gale, and closed his eyes again, covering his eyes with the back of his hand. "I decided to, you know, get a bit too into training and it went a bit badly."
It was only half of a lie - maybe an omission of the truth, really. Gale heaved a sigh and attempted to sit up.
Then promptly lay back down again.
"I'm just peachy. I'll be fine."

"Just you? The only way you coulda done this was putting your own gun to your head." Bix didn't let Gale just lay, he waited until the younger hunter's eyes were closed and then scooped him, throwing Gale's arm around his shoulders and picking him up like he was his new wife. "And if you did that then we really need to have a talk." The albino hunter was surprised that Gale was as light as he felt. Maybe he'd gotten some more arm strength (likely) or maybe Gale was just lightweight, but either way he was finding the task easier than he expected. "So back to the point.. room or infirmary?" He kicked one of the doors open with his foot to get inside. "You know this is me.. right? And I am not just leaving you in a field."

Why, Bix, why.
It was, perhaps, fortunate that it hurt too much to move around - or maybe it was unfortunate. Either way, Gale did not really have the strength to protest, even as Bix's arms slipped under his legs and back and suddenly he was airborne and being carried around princess-style.
"Damn it, Bix put me down - " He tried to take a swing at the other.
Okay, that hurt.
Inwardly cursing, Gale was forced to resign himself to not move, his face flaming furiously. He turned his head so that he was looking at Bix's shoulder, and hopefully his hair was covering that very embarrassed expression on his face.
"My room," he grumbled, arms folded across his chest. "And if you take me to the infirmary I'll shoot you. No way I'm letting that creepy doctor patch me up."
After a moment of silence, he said, very quietly "...it was that redheaded bloke. The...Scottish sounding one."

"Rep?" Bix scowled as he carted Gale around. Thankfully they didn't run into anyone they knew and the strangers they saw didn't seem to bat an eye at an obviously injured hunter being carried around. Maybe Gale would realize he was being embarassed over nothing? Probably not. "That guy.. Was this out of nowhere or did you guys have a fight?" Besides the normal sparring. Usually beating someone into unconsciousness required being pretty riled up. "I'll have to have a chat with him." He sounded like an angry dad though he lacked the intimidation factor. Bix jiggled Gale's room door open then poked it with his toe until it swung free. He laid Gale on the bed and closed the door behind him. "You have bandages?" He kept some of his own, just in case. He'd run and get them if he had to.

"Yes, him," said Gale, still with his face shoved against Bix's arm so he wouldn't have to see all of the stares that he obviously thought they would be getting. His head was still spinning and he felt as though he would really just like to pass back out again. "It wasn't...well, I accidentally threw my bag at him, but it wasn't like I did it on purpose."
Now he sounded like a whiny kid. Maybe he really was too young for this. Gale closed his eyes, letting out a small grunt of pain as Bix set him on the bed. He curled up on his side, hugging his pillow to his chest, and closed his eyes, exhaling slowly.
"Don't," he said, because he needed to get out. "I was being an arse to him - " And he was being a b*****d anyway. " - and I don't want him to think I need someone to stand up for me."
Not when I can't even stand up for myself. He left the thought unsaid, instead replying, without opening his eyes "They're on the top shelf of my closet."

Bix went to the closet and grabbed the bandages. "What's hurting.. you know what? I'll just mummify you." Gale was whining and he seemed to have a hard time with his eyes open so Bix started to bandage his head, covering his head. "You can take it off later but if your head's hurting it will help with the light." He couldn't see much visible in terms of wounds so he just pulled over the desk chair and plopped into it. He frowned, thoughts running through his head about how Gale was too hard on himself and took himself too seriously. If he relaxed, even for a moment, maybe he could have some fun. Even a little bit. Before any of them inevitably died. "Everyone needs someone Gale." Bix was serious now. He was sporting his big-brother face. "I need people too. I hope if some douche takes me out, that you or Before or someone.. anyone.. gets my back. I'm not above it. I'm pretty lame. I might only tell you that.. or my closest friends. Just because I don't want to admit it sometimes doesn't make it less true." He sighed and wiped his bangs from his eyes. "But I won't do anything if you don't want me to."

If Bix was looking closely enough he would have seen Gale scowling at him as he wrapped the bandages around his head first. He couldn't deny that it would probably make him feel a bit better, but he was feeling somewhat sulky and put out.
But then he heard the serious tone to Bix's voice and Gale's face shifted, his expression turning from an unhappy one to just a resigned one. Out of everyone on the island, Bix had been the first to not care at all what age he was - he had accepted him instantly as a friend and a colleague on the same level and had never once talked down to him - a fact that Gale appreciated it and needed.
And now he had that same look on his face. Gale turned his head, rubbing at his temples with one bruised hand.
"...I've got your back," he mumbled, after a moment of silence. "Always."
He gave a sigh.
"I can't believe I lost to a beginning trainee. If that's not pathetic, I don't know what is."
