Wake up. Dress. Coffee. Receive orders. Review projects. Dispense orders. Work. Break for lunch. Work. File a progress report. Break for dinner. Exercise. Shower. Coffee or booze. Movie. Work on personal projects. Sleep.

It was a terribly dull schedule that could be described as no less than monotonous, even with the added merit of 'weapons sub-division liaison' tacked onto his metaphorical nameplate. Not that he didn't adore that addition, because he did adore it. Oh, did he adore it. It was everything he had always wanted to do in Galactic, but instead he had been forced to work in the art of taking lives. Fantastic.

Today was a different sort of day though, a brief exercise in straying from the norm. Instead of just coffee, Lucas indulged in a normal breakfast to give himself room to skip lunch. Instead of heading to the crowded cafeteria that afternoon, he instead set his course for the recreational facility's large pool. It suffered most of its usage in the mornings and evenings, he had observed, and was pleased to find that the pool was, at the moment, unused. That suited him fine; this way he wouldn't have to worry about bothering anyone with the evidence of his career in assassination that marred his form in various places. Not as though he imagined it would surprise anyone, given the state of his face, but either way.

Swimming wasn't Lucas's usual form of exercise. He generally opted for the basics smattered with the occasional practice of martial arts - just to make sure he still retained the muscle memory for them. The point was to avoid monotony, though, and to fall back into his usual exercise routine would defeat the purpose. Thus, the scarred man, clad in unremarkable black swimming trunks, missing his usual glasses, and joined by a small Vaporeon, proceeded into the open room that housed the pool and made his way to the water. He quickly found himself distracted from his cause, however, by the pleasant coolness of the water. Liselle perched quietly at the pool's edge, watching her human silently as he floated listlessly at the water's surface. It was a pretty relaxing way to be, he mused. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to work that sort of thing into his daily schedule...

Sticking to the normal way of things was never really one of Isadora's strong points. While that wasn't to say that she did not appreciate the predictability of a schedule, sometimes it just got far too predictable. Read this, file that, meet with someone or other, read more things, file more things, maybe slip in some time for meals or even training... Isadora was becoming exhausted with the boredom of it all. True, the HQ was in a hubbub over the kidnapping of several Agents, and she knew that it was her duty to help out in any way that she could and give it all of her effort, but she had to rest sometimes, didn't she? She wasn't being lazy; she was just keeping her mind from being dulled by monotony. That was a good way to put it.

This afternoon, Isadora received the sudden epiphany that she could always go for a swim in the headquarters' pool. She had been there before, and it certainly wasn't an unpleasant experience [minus the stupidity caused by her numb-skull of a Deerling, who had recently evolved into a bigger numb-skull of a Sawsbuck]. It seemed like the perfect solution to her boredom dilemma. After she had completed most of her reading for the day, Isadora dressed in her one-piece swimming suit and sun dress and made her way down to the pool. She had made the executive decision to leave her Pokemon behind under the watchful eye of her Arcanine lest another catastrophe involving a certain Grass-type occurred again.

Towel in hand, the doctor made her way down to the recreational floor of the HQ building. When she entered the pool, she saw someone was already occupying the waters. For a split second, she faltered, not wanting to disturb whoever was training or otherwise, but a second look relieved Isadora's worries. Luckily for her, it was none other than her former patient and acquaintance Lucas. She silently hoped that he wouldn't mind her interrupting him, but somehow she doubted that he would mind much. A smile played on her lips as she called out to him. "Good afternoon, Lucas! Would you mind if I joined you for a swim?"

Before Lucas was aware of the presence of another, Liselle had detected the new arrival. She lifted her head in the direction of the sound of approach, fins splayed wide, then quietly slunk away and slipped into the water. Lucas watched her reappear at his side, peaking the top of her head over his shoulder to keep an eye on the shoulder. A murmured "what's up, Lis?" was answered by the sound of a familiar voice. He instinctively righted himself from his vulnerable position and drew up to the side of the pool, folding his arms on the tiled floor.

"Hey," he greeted casually with a nod of his head and a friendly smile. "Yeah, sure; don't mind me." Liselle, remaining near her human, flattered her fins against her head then dipped silently into the pool, disappearing in its waters.

Isadora blinked as she barely caught a glimpse of the pretty Vaporeon before it vanished into the waters of the pool. Lucas finally noticed her presence, and she gave her friend a warm smile while she raised a single hand in greeting. "Great," she answered in reply. "I'll just be a moment." With that, she slipped off her sandals and sundress, carefully placing the articles on a nearby table. She removed her glasses and positioned them daintily on the top of the pile, then she slowly stepped into the pool. A small shiver passed through her as she sunk deeper into the chilly water, but it did not take long for her body to adjust to the temperature.

As Isadora began to wade slowly toward Lucas, she was reminded of how long it had been since they last saw each other. The last time she could really recall was back when they met at that restaurant and went shopping together, though she assumed that she might be mistaken. Either way, it was certainly a pleasant surprise to see her former patient again. She quite enjoyed his company, while simultaneously, she felt like he was mysterious and quiet enough for her to further investigate. Even now, as she got closer, Isadora noticed the various scars marring the man's body and her curiosity was piqued. She tried not to make her interest too terribly blatant as she arrived at his side with a smile on her face.

Before speaking, she leaned her head backwards, dunking her hair into the waters. Standing upright again, she brushed a lock of wet hair behind her ear. "Ah, it's been a while since we've last seen each other, right?" Sighing, she leaned her back against the side of the pool. "How have you been lately? Been very busy at all?"

Liselle's sudden disappearance pulled Lucas's attention toward the water in search of her - as well it should have, given that it was fairly inappropriate to watch a woman undress even she was still decent after. He pushed his hand through the water idly until it found the Vaporeon's head, at which point the little water-type returned to the surface to fix her trainer with a gaze that suggested she was mildly insulted he had picked out her hiding place so easily. Lucas offered a slight shrug of apology, but the pokemon promptly dove into the depths and vanished once more as Isadora entered the water. She probably wasn't hiding so nearby this time, he mused.

"Yeah," he said, his gaze lingering briefly on the farther waters of the pool before turning to his company. When was the last time they'd actually stopped and spoken beyond maybe the odd passing greeting in the hall or something? "I don't know about 'busy,' per se. They fill my schedule, but it's basically the same stuff every day. Very... rhythmic." Very boring.
