"Hrk!"

The sound rebounded down the silent hall as Jack reered back, a quickly adopted knee-jerk reaction as the dark ball of fluff rocketed towards him. How it was able to get so close to his face from the floor boggled the feline, but it seemed . . . content enough to be with him, every moment near it reminded him of the charm on his hand which itched subconsciously. He found himself scratching it as the critter attempted to make amends and throws of affection as he calmed down.

"What am I going to do with you." He asked as he picked it up from the ground, the minipet almost instantly cooled down after the outburst. It was like they were magentically attracted to his head - which was fun for them, but a little unnerving to him.

And now he had to study it? By himself, without Tomoko to make sure he wasn't going to get a concussion? This would prove annoying.

"I'll catch you later, then!" Mitzi called out to the other Reaper as she headed off down the hall, her lammit still clutched under one arm. The fuzzy little thing seemed to have mostly stopped struggling, which was good, because with her other hand full of protection charms, there wasn't much she could do to catch it again.

She wasn't paying much attention to Jack as she came up on him. If her hands hadn't been full, she probably would have raised one in greeting, but since she didn't know him she just nodded and started to walk by.

Unfortunately, her lammit also seemed to be attracted to Jack's head. As calm as it had been once she removed her own protection charm, it suddenly started flailing around even more than before. She yelped as it escaped, the protection charms in her other hand spraying every where as she reached to try to grab it. Unprepared as she was, there simply wasn't time to prevent it from flying straight towards the demon. "Watch out!"

It was only warning he had gotten - one moment he was chasing his little fuzz-bottom down the hall, next moment a high pitched “WATCH OUT” rang out as his Jack-sense rang off, and automatically he ducked down, the sounds of fluff on wall ricocheting over him, the small squeaks around him ringing out and letting him know that he was . . . At least . . . Alive, and so was the little fluff balls.

Well great, they were multiplying.

Taking the initiative in the mounted confusion, Jack jumped towards Trichter, and whomever this little fluff ball was, looking around to find out where the lammit’s temporary owner was, bright green eyes lighting up more when Mitzi came in to view, his tail flickering behind him. He knew this girl, she was in the same class as he was, (albeit, a little further than Tomo, or the gentlemen that he had sat with,) but she was familiar, at least.

Clearing his throat, he lifted the hand with the foreign lammit, eyebrows raised a little. “Would . . .Would this be yours? I found it near my head.” He offered up, trying to shake the sudden-ness of everything with humour.

The Reaper ghoul was already running down the last bit of the hallway, and reaching out for her lammit. "Oh gods, I'm so sorry!" She took it back, carefully holding it by the scruff of the neck so it couldn't escape again, then glanced behind her at the scattered protection charms and made a face. "I don't know what's wrong with these stupid things."

Her lammit made another attempt to escape, but this time she had a good hold on it. It brought her attention back to Jack, however. "Hi, I'm Mitzi. I don't think we've met?" With her protection charms all over the floor, she now at least had a hand free, which she held out to the boil.

Good, that was easier than he expected, letting the reaper ghoul take her little fuzz ball as she came closer to him, his own grasp iron-hard around his own lammits scruff, hoping to subdue him. Turning down to her, he awarded her with a soft smile, masking his frustrations with the critters, the actor in him keeping him from going off the deep end.

“A pleasure to meet you, my dear.” He stated, much calmer than the first words spoken between them. “I am known as Jack-B-Nimble, but most call me Jack - or Jack-B.” He completed his introduction with a small shake of her hand. “I also do not believe we’ve met, but I have seen you around a bit. Noticed you were in the last class with me - obvious with lammit to your side.” He finished, pointing down to it before lifting his own again, frowning at it before looking at the small stack of protection charms he had, feeling a little bashful about it again.

“Seems kind of excessive, but . . . I guess it’s something. Did . . .you need help with those?” He offered, pointing at the charms on the floor.

"A pleasure to meet you, Jack-B." She gave him a relieved smile, glad that he wasn't taking any offense at the attacking lammit. "Oh yeah, I think I remember seeing you in there. That place was packed." She grinned a bit as he glanced down at his own protection charms, and a bit of his discomfort was visible, just for a moment. What was it with all these boils?

To be honest, if everyone else had been fully at ease with the class, she herself might have been feeling a bit embarrassed. But as it was, her amusement at everyone else was far outweighing that.

As Jack brought her attention back to her own protection charms, scattered on the floor still, she started. She'd almost forgotten about them... she really wasn't going to do well with this assignment, was she? "Oh, I can probably get them; it was my own fault, after all. But I certainly wouldn't mind the help," she replied with a smile. Shaking her lammit to keep it from misbehaving while she was distracted, she turned and knelt, starting to pick them up.

"Well, what kind of gentleman would I be if I weren't offer a hand in assistance to a lady?" He offered, eyebrows raised and free hand up, showing his interest in assistance. Jack be damned that he showed any qualities that his father had given, but sometimes . . . sometimes he slipped. Giving a cough, he tried to shake off his dread, leaning down and picking up a couple charms as he wandered closer to her, tail flickering back and forth.

"I believe we were a few seats apart - and with all the chaos, I was a little swarmed by fluffy things trying to eat my face." Exageration - but he really did feel like they're were coming for him. Sighing softly, he looked down to his own, subdued by a larger force grabbing it by the scruff - akin to a kitten in it's mother's mouth.

"Do you have any idea what we're supposed to be doing with them, something to do with the charms, yes?" He asked, ears perking.

"I suppose a lady should always accept an offer of assistance from a gentleman," she replied, turning just enough to toss him a saucy wink. Her grin made it clear she was teasing, though.

When he went back to talking about the class, the ghoul's face lit up in recognition. "Oh, I remember! You were to my right, talking with Alex and Yin?" Her lammit made a sudden attempt to get away, right towards Jack again, and with a frown she shook the mini. "Yeah, they do seem to like you. I can't imagine why." Teasing again, as she stood up, the last of the protection charms finally off the floor.

"Did you miss the professor's explanation? Apparently they get sick if you don't put protection charms on them, so we need to put them on twice a day for a week. Although how we're supposed to do it is beyond me." The little ball of fluff didn't look like there was any flat spot to put anything, and with the way they bounced around she had a feeling this would be harder than it sounded.

A chortle broke out from deep within his throat as she replied to his advances - it was nice to find someone who was willing to give and take in jest. He was used to ghouls and boils who seemed a little wound up, so it was a relief.

"Yes, Alexander and Yin, if I recall was their names." He murmured, as his little fuzzball started to rile up again, sticking it under his armpit like he would the younger spooks at his home back in the orphanage. "I was keeping the little Miss. Tomoko company during class - I did not expect these little fuzzballs to come careening at me." He finished, before lifting his up and shaking it a little before holding it close again, looking at his own charms, before scrinching his face up. "This may look harder than it seems. I think they're magnetically attracted to me - I spent most of the class attempting to run from a sudden concussion." He murmured.

"One is easier than like a hundred though, right?"

"Oh, and all the others will just have to be jealous of the lucky lammit that got Jack-B to take her home?" Really, if that grin was any indication, she was having far too much fun with this game today. "And she gets to find out exactly how good you are with those protection charms," she finished with a waggle of her eyebrows.

With her hand once again full of protection charms and really nowhere to put them all, she was back in the same position she'd been in before, although with a little better hold on her mini. On the other hand, getting the rest from the demon might be tricky. "Actually, if you've got a few minutes... would it be too much trouble to ask your help in carrying these all back to my room? Or we could leave them somewhere and I can pick them up later, which would be fine if it was anything else, just, you know..." So yes, the ghoul actually did have some shame, even if she'd been happy to pretend she didn't.

"They're going to be sad when they realize this little lammit isthe lucky lady who sleeps in the same bed, too." He joshed, giving her a knowing grin, before his eyebrows raised at her questioning, his face softening up in to a grin, as he looked down at his own fuzzball in his hands.

"I don't mind - I think I have time to escort you back, I haven't been to your side of the dorms ever, so It'd be a nice time to visit." He murmured, shrugging softly. "I'm not exactly the kind who's full of appointments, so my dayplanner is pretty empty after this class" He offered. "So, you got me!"

"I figure we should get down to homeworking and get this over with, watching the buggers as they go, since that's what we've been asked to do. I hope actual children aren't anything like this." He quipped, making a funny face at the prospect of him even considering spawning. He was evidence enough that that was not always a good idea.

She laughed. "Well, no wonder mine was so determined to attack you, then! She was hoping you'd get her mixed up with yours. Can't say I blame her, either."

She smiled, just a tinge of relief in it, as he agreed to help her. "Sounds good, and we can get the first charms on them... I'm not sure how I'll keep up with this for a week." And when he related the lammits to children, she couldn't help but giggle. "I don't know about you, but I was sure a handful as a scareling." As if on cue, her lammit tried to make another break for it, but at least this time it only took a glare to calm it down.

As they talked, she led the way towards the Reaper dorms; no point in standing around holding a giant pile of protection charms where everyone could see them. As they approached it, she groaned, realizing that both their hands were full. Luckily another student was coming out just then, but she already was trying to figure out how she was going to unlock her door without letting her lammit go or making a huge mess all over again.

Jack willingly followed the Reaper ghoul to her dorm, interest perked as he took all the looks and designs in. Holding the door open for her, he finally answered the statement they had se

"I'm probably going to write post it notes for myself." He offered, thinking openly as he shrugged. "Or, I have a big glass panel, maybe I'll write it there too. I just hope mine doesn't destroy things like I did." He finished, giving her a look. "I earned my title, they called me Jack-B-Nimble because I was a terror. They could never keep me in the same place for long.

Waiting until she passd him, he slipped in behind her, wrestling his little fluffball as they encroached closer on her room, his tail flicking behind him - expecting to be caught quickly as a non-reaper. He was a giant cat. "Maybe we should do a quick stick-on now, since it's been a while since the chaos was unleashed?" He offered, quietly. There was something about being in a dorm he hadn't been in before that was . . . eerie.

"Oh yeah, notes are a good idea. I have a bulletin board, I can put them up there." Mitzi grinned at him as he mentioned being a terror as a scareling. "Think these things are Halloween's way of paying you back?" she joked.

When he mentioned doing the first charms now, she nodded. "Sounds like a good idea, get it out of the way."

The ghoul led the way to her room, and somehow managed to juggle lammitt, protection charms, and key in such a way that she got the door open without the mini managing to make another mad dash as Jack. She kicked the fallen charms inside, deciding that was good enough for now, and once he was in and the door was closed finally let go of her lammitt. Predictably, it tried to attack the cat demon again, but she batted it to the side on its first attempt. "Watch out, it's free," she warned him as she put the charms away, leaving one out.
