A queen only has so much time, so now her fitting room is also her planning room.

User ImageDionette had woke up early that morning and went out for a horse back ride around the castle's courtyards and such. She got back in at around 9:30 and let one of the servants put her horse away. Her adviser met her at the palace doors,"Mi'lady," Said the middle aged man in a uniform and powdered wig,"didn't your personal guards, the musketeers say that you shouldn't go outside without a guard?" She waved him off,"pish posh Gaston. I understand their need for concern, but I am Queen and I will do as I please when I please." She said, knowing that Jean would scold her thoroughly for her going horse back riding without a guard or five. "Now," She stopped short on her heal and spun looking at him sharply,"I am going to take a bath, when I get out I would like to alter my new dress while we go over the plan and what not, have my seamstress team ready and tell them to bring the pearls, the bodice on my new dress doesn't have enough!" She spun back around flipping her elegant blonde curls as she strode away and up the stairs groaning loudly,'Why am I surrounded by imbeciles?! Gosh I'm queen you'd think my adviser could be a little smarter and my seamstresses would get that pearls look great on me!" She groaned again and went down another long corridor and into her room where she had a few of her personal maids wait outside of her bathroom with a towel and a robe.

Dionette relished her hot bath with rose water and bath salts and perfumes. This bath was extremely expensive to draw, a commoner could probably never afford it even f they saved for three years, however this was a bath that Dionette enjoyed at least two times a week if not more, the rest of the week it was just rose water and bath salts. Only one of the many luxuries that she allowed her self frequently. She got out of the bath and then, with her maids help, got dressed in the dress shed be wearing that day, she was having a party later this afternoon and it had to be the best, her dresses always were.

She stood on a small pedestal as several seamstresses fluttered about her, sewing more pearls on her bodice that squeezed her perfect waist in and pressed her ample breasts together and up, and they added lace and other details to make sure her dress was one of a kind if it wasn't already. Today's dress was an ivory white with gold embroidery of flowers, the full, ball-gown bottom that was the popular fashion statement of the time was just as intricate as the top. Everything Dionette wore was like this, extravagant and beautiful. While that was going on her hair was being curled and pulled up tastefully. She gave a few orders about food rations for the country, telling them to give the spoiled ones to the people and give the good rations to the army. There was a protest but she waved it off. Next up was the war..she moved over the advisers who were gathered around a table with a map filled with war symbols and circles and what not. She examined it and made a few changes, the advisers protested but she waved them off,"They will expect that move idiot, that's why I am splitting up the first group so we can send one in, and while the army is distracted, we will send in the second to bombard their soldiers."
"But your majesty, the first group will surely be complete casualties." She shrugged as she got on a stand in front of a mirror and her seamstresses went to work altering her dress, adding more lace and pearls,"Whatever, it is for the glory of France that they sacrifice their lives, they will be happy to serve their country." She looked around.

"Where is (Queen's Shadow) and Jean, I must speak with them, find then quickly!" She yelled and the advisers scurried off in search. "Also!" they all stopped and looked at her,"Send for Aramis..." She said, her tone mysterious,"I need to speak with him as well." They paused a moment to see if there would be any others, she glanced back at herself in the mirror and saw them all frozen,"FIND THEM NOW!" She snapped loudly. They ran out and she continued to look at herself in the mirror as the seamstresses did their work. "...idiots.." She muttered.

Geoffrey Benedict LeForte II
The Queen's Shadow
User Image It would appear it would be another glorious morning. The Queen, his Queen, went for a morning ride, one she believed to be on her own, but Geoff was not far behind, though out of her view the entirety of the time. He was, after all, known as her 'Shadow' for a reason. Upon the return to the castle, as the Queen went for a bath and a fitting, he himself retreated to his quarters in the dungeon. He had not fools to prod, no morons who committed treason to torture.. He was quite bored in the dungeon, but it was a perfect place for him to practice.

He laughed and grunted as he swung his glorious blade through the air, so sharp and swift that it sounded as though it was cutting the air itself. He watched himself in a large mirror as he did so, something he would do regularly, to make sure his form was still flawless, which, every time, it was. After cutting through a few practice dummies and running his personal gauntlet he'd built in the dungeon, he cleaned himself up, dressed appropriately and re-entered the main part of the castle.

He whistled a merry tune as he carried on, heading to the room where the Queen would do her regular planning and fitting. His hand rested idly on the hilt of his sword as he moseyed up the stairs. His whistling slowed and he looked on with a confused expression as a few servants came rushing out of the room past him after a shout from... Well, it wasn't hard to tell who from..

"My, my, my...", He said with a grin as he entered the room and watched the servants scramble away behind him. It looked like it was going to be one of those occasions. He was unaware he'd been summoned, but there he was anyhow. He smiled at the Queen and took a step back with one foot, drew his rapier with a graceful flourish and crossed it over his chest before bowing lightly to her, his eyes locked on her the entire time.

"Your grace!", He greeted her as he sheathed his sword, "You are looking positively radiant, as per usual!", he complimented, gesturing to her current appearance. However, he caught himself quickly and raised a finger, "No, even more elegant than usual!", he corrected with a confident grin.

Dionette raised an eyebrow as she saw movement in her mirror other than herself and her seamstresses. She smiled when she saw who it was and turned around, her seamstresses clearing their hands of her skirts immediately and stepped back as Dionette moved off her small pedestal and walked over to him, a pleased smile on her face. She seemed to always be pleased with him, no matter what the situation. Perhaps it was because he was an attractive man she she did love men, perhaps a little too much, or maybe it was some other reason, after all he had yet to fail her in all his years of service and that was something not many could boast.

She gave him a rather sly smile when he corrected his compliment, he did always know the right things to say. "Ahh, Geoffrey, you were just the man I was looking for." She said pleasantly,"This is my new party dress, pearls are so befitting of me aren't they though?" She asked, doing a small twirl, her many skirts fluttering out a moment. She glanced at herself in the mirror once more, the only thing she loved more than an attractive man was herself, she loved herself more than anything. She looked sharply at her seamstresses,"and don't you forget it. I don't want to have any other mishaps like we did today, my time is valuable and I can't always just let you sew more pearls on. I'm a very busy woman. Now leave me." She commanded. her seamstresses bowed to her then to Geoffrey and then left quickly. The queen could easily shift from brilliantly happy to stone cold in a moment's notice and it wasn't unusual for her to do so.

She walked over to a window and looked out at it. She was about to have a small party, for her anyways, out in the courtyard for her and her court that consisted of nobles and aristocrats and what not and right now the decorations were being finished. Her expression was a bit thoughtful,"Geoffrey I need to discuss something with you, and it is a very private matter." She began then looked at him,"I have been informed that Athos' son, Raoul, has returned home from the war and he will soon be a musketeer here." She said,"Athos, while he was a musketeer at some point, is no longer in my service as you know...he is a skilled swords man and I am concerned that he may have some...empathy..for those damn rebels. I want you to keep an eye on Raoul and make sure that he doesn't hold any sympathy for rioters or rebels once he is here." She said, she took these things very seriously and her green eyes pierced Geoffrey's as she spoke to him a bit more serious than usual.

Geoffrey Benedict LeForte II
The Queen's Shadow
User Image Ah, the smile of his Queen. The sight of this left quite the genuine smirk plastered to his face as she greeted him. At her comment about how he was just the man she was looking for, his mind certainly had it's doubts, nonetheless he bowed very slightly and commented, "Well, here I am, all yours..". He would tell her he was hers whenever she commanded something of him. He doubted she picked up on the double meaning.

His gaze swiveled up and down the Queen as she twirled around, modeling her dress for him. "Ah, but of course they are. Like beads of dew on a freshly bloomed white rose in the early morning!", He commented and clapped his hands a few times at her twirl and dress, showing he was impressed. Making sure the Queen was pleased with herself was the easiest way to manage her.

As she snapped at her seamstresses, Geoff gave them a small look that said C'est la vie and nodded his head to them as they gave him an unnecessary bow. He always thought they were a bit too weak for the Queen's radiant and spontaneous attitude shifts, which he personally found brilliant.

He waited for the doors of the room to close, glancing over his shoulder as he heard the latch lock into place, ensuring they were alone before focusing back on the queen. She stepped over to the window and stared out of it. He put his hands behind his back and stood a few feet behind her, but to her side so his reflection was visible to her in the mirror and gave the illusion he stood beside her. "I'm yours.", He said, as she commented on how she needed to discuss something serious with him.

She shifted to him and he felt a chill run up his spine at her gaze, causing his back to stiffen, not that he didn't already stand as tall as he could in her presence. He grinned a bit and shook his head. A small chuckle left him before he replied, "Athos is an aging fool. Skilled, indeed, but a fool, musketeer or not.". He paced back and forth, only a few steps each time before turning as she gave instruction.

"As you command, your grace. If the son of Athos proves to be a fool like his father, steps out of line and sees it fit to show sympathy to those who defy you, I can assure you he will not be shown the same sympathy.", He swore to her and took a few steps forward to look out the window, now standing directly next to her. It was a bold move for anyone to approach the Queen so casually, but Geoffrey had nothing to fear.

"If he dares to break your code, I will break him. Along with anyone who shares his ideal.", He vowed, staring out the window with a more-serious-than-usual expression, for him anyways.

It was true, if you wanted her to be in a good mood and be pleased with you, you had to first make sure she was pleased and she would believe any and all flattery you presented her with simply because she believed she deserved every last bit of it. She enjoyed very little when it came from other people, but the only thing she enjoyed more than a compliment or a present was a fierce loyalty, in her eyes it was a form or worship to be fiercely loyal and after all, every one should worship her.

"Be sure that you do." She replied, a bit darkly. She sighed deeply, a scowl on her face as she glared out the window once again,"Athos may be an aging fool but I'd rather him be a dead one.The only thing more dangerous than an educated man is a foolish one." She said, her tone not as amused. "Idiocy is one thing that does not know fear and cannot be accounted for."

She ceased speaking for a moment, if her mouth was closed her mind was moving, she may have been self absorbed and frivolous, but she was anything but ignorant. The was actually brilliant, she could usually tell an enemy before they knew they were her enemy and she was always sure to thwart them first as well. She held very little tolerance and allowed little to no room for disobedience. Dionette seemed to calm a bit, letting her tone become nonchalant again as she looked at Geoff,"Come, walk with me will you?" She looped her arm through his own,"I've called for Jean as well, he will need to deliver the news to Raoul that he should report here for duty starting tomorrow. However Jean will surely scold me for going out this morning and I find that when you are present," A small amused smile, no, smirk, played across her lips in a sly manner,"he tends to chide me less." She looked up her long, dark eyelashes at Geoff, knowing perfectly well that Jean disliked him...and she loved it.

She knew perfectly well that Jean had feelings for her and took his job seriously, however she saw a weakness in him that didn't posses Geoff. She saw weakness in everyone, if you had a soft spot for anything, she'd know right away what it was. Her ability was uncanny, it was as if her venomous green eyes saw through everything and every one and could easily rip apart a person's soul and examine every fiber that made it up. God forbid she find you weakness because she would always use it whenever she wished no matter the situation.

Geoffrey Benedict LeForte II
The Queen's Shadow
User Image A look of determination cross Geoff's face as his Queen spoke of Athos, more specifically how she wished him dead. She was entirely correct. Athos was a brilliant warrior, a cunning strategist and a natural hope-inspiring leader. It was odd, how Geoff had such high respect for Athos as a warrior, but had no respect at the same time ever since he sent himself into his own exile, out of the Queen's service.

"But of course, your grace.", He responded to her as he locked elbows with her at her request for him to walk along with her. He had quite a cocky grin slapped across his face as they strode along and she spoke to him. It was odd. If he didn't know that the Queen was such a user, he would have truly believed they were friends. He liked to think he was a friend to her anyhow. He was loyal, he kept her secret, he kept her safe.. The Queen was such a mystery, and this is what drew him to her the most, other than his life debt to her.

"Jean has no right to scold you on any account. You are his Queen. You do as you please, and no one is within right to contest your judgement.", Geoff's expression dropped a bit at the mention of the guard captain. He looked over at her when she paused to meet her venomous gaze. A grin crossed his face again. "Perhaps, your grace, this is because he knows...", He paused and drew his sword. After a swift flourish, he pointed it straight ahead of him at eye-level, "...That I will cut his tongue from his mouth if I were to hear a word of it.".

Ahh, the rivalry he shared with Jean. Both feeling strongly for the same woman, both loyal to her words, both with their own weaknesses... But Geoff was just that much better than Jean and he knew he was the one of the two in the Queen's good graces. He didn't make it a secret that he took great pride in this either. Jean needed constant reminding, Geoff wouldn't hesitate to do so every chance he obtained..... And did he ever relish the day he would get to take the sap's tongue for his insolence.

Geoff sheathed his sword just as gracefully as he'd drawn it and he smiled at his Queen. "Fear not. The scary man shall not spill his meaningless scoldings onto the ground you walk upon this day. If he does...", He trailed off and grinned, gesturing with his now-free hand into the air, implying that something would happen, but he left it up to the Queen to imagine what.

She smiled, pleased when he agreed to walk with her, not like he'd ever refuse her, but still. She listened to him speak, enjoying every word of it until he drew his sword. Dionette smiled brightly when he flourished his sword, finding it absolutely thrilling. She loved when he did things like that, it was so much fun. Of course, any man flourishing his sword was always quiet exciting for any lady. She moved her body closer to his own, hugging his arm a bit closer,'Ah well, you should know that I fear nothing while in your presence Geoff." She said a bit flirtatiously, after all, she was a flirt.

Dionette knew she was beautiful and she took every chance she could to use it to her ability, perhaps it was because she knew youth did not last forever, or maybe she was just vain, either way it didn't matter. While she entertained many men with flirtatious eyes and mysterious smiles it was different when she did it with Geoffry, her eyes looked at him and sometimes they flashed with a sort of hunger for him, one that she had yet to satisfy, she seemed constantly both pleased and intrigued by Geoff, maybe she knew how valuable he was to her and she loved anything that was valuable to her, or maybe she had more lusty thoughts for him, again though, it didn't matter. These flashes of fierce passion that glinted in her eyes were always there when she looked at him weather they were subtle or not.

She looked forward again as they continued to walk,"But when you aren't around he scolds me often as a parent might a child. I know he only fears for my safety, but its as if he just doesn't understand that it is his job to protect me and it is my job to be the queen. I swear sometimes I feel like you are the only one who understands anything that comes from my lips." She commented a small pout. Yes she was childish and magnificent, she was beautiful and venomous, the queen was everything that was good in the world and horrid in it all at once and if there was anything that she wasn't, she could easily act it.
(aaaaand waiting for Jean... =.= )
