Life seemed simple in the flock for this little foal. Raven dug his claws into the soft dirt as he looked down. He was unsure of why the females were the rulers of the flock. His wings fluttered as he looked around for his father, Naxos. "Wonder why we have to stay here?" Asking aloud as he watched a butterfly go by. He began to flap his wings, but not flight this time.

Morkin was relaxing in the safe zone. That was until a female had happened to stop by. She instructed the stallion to go check up on the colts in the nursing den; to ensure that they were all right and well looked after. Though it wasn't of Morkin's usual routine, he had to do as told. So with a slight nod of his head, the stallion set out, his ears perked up, tail flicking on occasion. He moved quickly toward the nesting grounds, before stepping into the area, his eyes flickering to check on each small foal that seemed to be within the area.
That was until he heard the small male voice. Morkin's head tilted, staring toward the colt with wings of black, white and red. It was rare to see an actual winged male, let alone one with claws. A somewhat envious sting hit his brain for a mila second, before he shook his head and moved toward the colt, hooves making a soft thunking noise with each step. He lowered his head, so he wouldn't seem as tall, before tilting it and let out a small nicker of a noise, before answering the colt's unanswered question.
"So that you don't get lost or wander out of Flock territory, little one. The Mistresses would not be happy if they happened to lose such a fine colt." He stated, his voice even.

Raven let out a startled whinny as he heard a voice that he was unfamiliar with. He turned around to see the brown, white, and green stallion. His wings folded close to his sides as he looked at him in the eye. "But what happens if I wander too far, sir?" He asked as his little tail wagged lightly. He had never really talked to the other stallions, only the harpies and the other females of the flock. "Is your momma a harpy too?" He asked as he moved a bit closer to the stallion.

Morkin's ears perked up slightly, before he let out a soft chuckle. Colts were always adorable to him. He couldn't wait, honestly, to have his own children, even if he wasn't to see them as much as he liked. He shook out his mane of feathers and red locks, before stepping toward him and lowered his head a bit more, keeping his eyes locked on the colt's. "Please, call me Morkin. I am no higher than you are, little one. And if you wander too far from the nursing grounds, a female is bound to stop you, and bring you back. If you wander out of the Flock... well... that is another story all together." He paused, thinking over his words, before shaking his head once more and lifted it up to his full height. "Yes, my mother is Mistress Mitra. I was born within the Flock just as you were."

"My mother is Mistress Aldora! She's one of the nannies so I get to see her all the time!" Raven whinnied with joy as he thought about his loving mother. "I'm Iris-Raven, but Raven is just fine. I'm just being polite, Morkin. Momma told be to be proper and treat the older stallions with some sort of respect since they are older than me. But the females get all the respect because they let us live." He said since he was told about the males role and the females. His wings relaxed as he felt he could trust this stallion of exciting colors. He got a little bit closer to be able to see his eyes. "You have your momma's eyes, right?" He asked with a smile.

Morkin's ears perked up slightly, watching the colt with interest. He was an excitable little thing, and seemed to be rather intrigued by everything around him. It was a good sign, as it meant he would be able to learn easily when he got older, and develop the way that any stallion should. The stallion tilted his head, smiling some. His eyes flickered around, looking for the mother, just in case, before glancing back down at him and nodded his head, his tail flicking slightly, ears tilting down toward the colt. "Yes. And her hair and feathers. The rest is mostly from my father." He stated. The slight pang of pain hit his chest, but he shook it away. One day he would meet his father, even if he had to spend the day looking for him.

Raven whinned playfully as he pawed at the stallion's tail. "Momma said that I take more after my daddy, but I got her clawed feet." He said as he flapped his wings lightly. He knew he couldn't fly away since he was never taught. His father had told him of how his wings were clipped to keep him from flying away. "I wonder if I'll get some feather when I get older?" He asked as he kicked a little rock with his front foot.

Morkin watched the foal with light eyes, his body tense. He frowned slightly. This foal was hyper. He tilted his head, watching him. The stallion let out a small chuckle, tilting his head, before craning his neck to watch every movement that the boy made. "Perhaps. It is hard to tell until you grow. But considering your claws, little one, you will be adorned with affection." He stated simply.

Raven gave a off a little giggle when Morkin told him about how he would be adorned with affection. "I hope to be big and strong so I can help protect the flock!" He said as he puffed out his chest. He wanted to make sure everything would be happy and safe for future harpies and stallions who enter the world of the Flock. "But that's no fun. I don't wanna wait to be an adult! I wanna be able to be one now." He whined as his wings drooped.

Morkin let out a slight chuckle, shaking his head. Ambitious. That would be good. Nodding his head somewhat, he moved around the colt, and ducked his head to peer at him some. "You will, later. For now, do not fret over it. You have to be patient. You have to build up to it. Just going straight in is never the answer. You could end up in trouble with one of the Harpies if you try to do anything too soon." He explained, voice soft.

"They are not just harpies, but Sisters of the Flock! Momma told me to respect them and older males since I have a lot to learn from them." Raven said proudly since he was proud to be part of the flock. He was just impatient about wanting to be an adult already. He chirruped lightly as he looked up at Morkin. "Do you think it's wrong to want to do something that most males in the flock can't do?" Asking as he thought about his dream.

Morkin inwardly frowned. Was this boy telling him how to respect the Mistresses he had grown to love? Shaking his head slightly, the stallion figured he was looking to much into it. He should praise the colt for being dedicated, not snap for the slight insult he may have said. "Yes, I am aware. And it is good to learn that now, rather than later. The Mistresses are the most important factor of our lifestyle." He stated matter of factly. His ears flicked some, before he stared at the colt once more. Do something others could not? He frowned this time, eyebrows pulling together in confusion. His tail gave a slight flick, trying to figure out what he meant. All males were supposed to be set in being the same, to a point. Needless to say the clawed brethren of the Flock had a bit of an upper hand, but it didn't mean that they could do things no one else could. "And what would that be? What is it you are wanting to do?" Morkin asked, quite curious now.
