In the wake of the last mission combined with the knowledge of 1999, Clerise was a right mess. She alternated between duties and training with little else in-between, trying desperately to be. Well. Slightly less awful. She spied an unfamiliar face on the training field, her hands itching at the idea of a proper spar instead of a one sided deal with a training dummy. "Heyy, you, with the swords. You up for some practice?"

Harrison yanked B0nez out of the dummy's torso.
"Yep," he said. He had not actually done a lot of hunter on hunter sparring. And he had lost all of his battles. But had the Apocalypse heavy on his mind, and while his survival chances were probably shot to hell, he was trying to squeeze in a mixture of an enjoying his remaining lifespan checklist, and unslimming his survival margin.
Stabbing things, fortunately, fit on both lists.
"Name's Harrison. I'm in Moon. ...You want to use the fields?"

Clerise grinned toothily in reply, watching the other hunter yank his weapon free. "Clerise, Life. Fields sound like a plan to me."
Her heart was heavy from missions gone awry-- it seemed that every time she left to do one, something went horribly, horribly wrong.
Like she was some sort of bad luck charm, or some s**t. She wholeheartedly disapproved. Clerise withdrew Balthazar from her pocket, fingering his cracked face for a moment, then summoning the ringblade.
"Lead the way, handsome."

The training field wasn't much in terms of environment, so there was less opportunity to hide and stab.
No world bonuses, B0nez noted.
It had been a while, Harrison realized, since he'd fought something without having something else he was trying to keep alive.
He took a swipe at her.
"So," he asked, "How's Life treating you?"

"I would say calling you handsome is an appropriate term," Clerise offered with a shrug. "You may be Harrison, but you are handsome." She waved her hand in a vague manner, using it as justification. Clerise used Balthazar to divert some of the attack, swinging out with him in a wide, horizontal arc. A typical opener, at least. "Fabulous. I don't see the doc much, but I think that's...for the best. Clarice is cooler anyway." hp// 40 - 2 = 38 damage// 13 - 6 = 7 charge// 1/3, 0/2 used

Harrison got caught by the weapon swing.
Don't stand in hoops, B0nez said. Harrison got the vague impression of the command → → ↑ ↻
He used B0nez's longer blade to block, and thrust with the shorter one.

Thrust away, baby. Thrust away. The sun caught Harrison just then in a nice, nice fashion. Oh mai. Despite the scars, Handsome was a good term. She had raised her weapon to deflect the blow a little, but thanks to a few moments of ogling, she...you know. In spite of the opening, Harrison plunged the cutlass about half as deep this time, mainly because he'd been counting on some kinda forward momentum.
Instead, he was getting a whole lot of gawking.
He withdrew the blade awkwardly.
"What...? Is there... do I got something...?" He rubbed his chin.

Clerise blinked a bit, snapping out of it. "Oh. Just your face, Handsome~" Clerise grinned, trying to bring her weapon up to stop the stab, but she was too sluggish.
She leaned forward, grinning, beeped his nose--
and then swung out with her weapon, aiming for his midsection.

"There's nothing the matter with- hey!" Harrison said, getting a hoop to his stomach for the trouble. What kind of spar was this? Awkward pauses, nose honking. Just what the hell.
He wrinkled his nose and got in another stab.
"Don't go for the nose. The nose is off-limits. I only got one of them."

Harrison bristled.
Nothing wrong with his face.
The swords answered in with sharp clarity. Clerise's attempt at sincerity was just not getting through to him.
