Much like last year, it seems that the point of the event is to get [NPC] Odanodan to quote you in the St. Patrick`s Day forum, either by quoting him or by posting certain trigger words. Apparently you don't get any notice that he's quoted you so you have to keep an eye on the thread you're posting in to see if you've been quoted, then quote him back.

Possible trigger words/phrase:

[quote]Mr. Odanodan, lots of fortune
Gold and Green, filled with luck
One-leaf two-leaf three-leaf four-leaf clovers!
Let's see if there's a trigger word![/quote]

or just quote him:

[quote="[NPC] Odanodan"][/quote]

Also, this thread has a few more suggestions such as tipping Odanodan once he quotes you.

The item this year is Golden Clover (no notice is given when you receive it so check your inventories) and it seems you sometimes will randomly get some gold in your header near where the cash tree sits.

So what do you think of the event? The item? How do you celebrate St. Paddy's Day on/off Gaia?

So far I am unimpressed with the event. Just playing quote war with a NPC isn't all that much fun to me. It seems to be pretty difficult to get the item and I haven't seen any pots of gold in my header either. We'll see if it gets any better once it's been out for a few more hours but I'm beginning to feel like it's a waste of time. User Image

As far as celebrating goes, on Gaia, I dress Saber up...that's about it. Off Gaia, I don't really do much. I used to when I lived closer to George. She's Irish so I'd make her a nice Irish dinner.

As for celebrating, I cooked a traditional Irish meal, baked a cake in the shape of a clover, and dressed up my two gorgeous twin daughters in leprechaun apparel. ^.^

I didn't do much to celebrate, I wore a green shirt. I also bought a bottle of meade and listened to Irish music.
