Character Name:
Real name: Demeter Banks, but he prefers Metre (pronounced "meter"). With the fancy spelling.

Player Name:
Kuromeez

Race:
Human

Aspirations:
TO KICK BUTT AND DO AMAZINGLY AT IT To protect the ones he cares about.

Personality:
He's loud. Very loud. And he's not someone who takes the word no very easily, mostly because half of the time he doesn't hear it since he's talking too much. Exuberant, positive, outgoing, gregarious - Metre is at the forefront of every conversation, and the life of every party if he can help it. He loves being around people, and he's confident and fearless enough to just do what he wants without the anxiety of being rejected - at least when it comes to things that aren't life threatening. When it comes down to it, Metre knows when to be serious and when it's not appropriate to be ridiculous with his shenanigans. He got to where he is through his sharp intellect (he's wickedly intelligent, but this is usually overshadowed by his often goofy and mischievous antics) and quick wits, even if he can be somewhat exhausting at times. He's constantly on the move, can hardly sit still for a second, and doing quieter, less exciting things drives him bonkers. He would much prefer to be in the middle of chaos than to be sitting at home reading a book, even if that chaos is potentially dangerous. Metre is someone who just always wants to be doing something, being useful, and being wanted. He's friendly and kind, and while maybe not the best listener, his heart is big and he cares a lot.

Short Biography/background:
Demeter Banks grew up in a BIG family out in the country - mother, father, six brothers, and four sisters, with Metre right smack in the middle of it all. Their family was loud and messy, and there was always something broken or breaking in the house, and a few stains here and there, and maybe some missing socks, and Metre and his older brother Petri were usually right in the center of any pranks pulled, but it was a good life nonetheless. It was here that Metre grew his love of chaos and craziness.

He was sent off to the Academy when he was fifteen, living at Makai with several of his older siblings who were already there. Metre had always assumed that when he graduated he would probably go back home and work to provide for his family, but at school he realized just how much he enjoyed magic and the feel of everything. He chose to stay, and upon graduating, he and his brother Petri moved to Moonfall (Metre's decision, of course - he wanted to live in the middle of a busy, bustling city, rather than back out in the quiet country), where Petri worked as a chef in a local restaurant and Metre did odd jobs around town. He went back and forth with his studying until finally sat down and pushed himself further with his education and magic. It was during this time that he met Allyda - the creature that would eventually become his familiar.

Metre's beliefs about the witch eaters are what led him to aspire to becoming an Ars Lillium. He holds no hostility or grudge towards them, and doesn't fault them for what they do - but he can't agree with it, either. He is very loyal to the Cerberus Knights and does his best to protect the lives of those he cares about. He's not above killing, obviously, but he prefers not to.

Allyda, his familiar, can be turned into a pair of identical swords when needed.

Sapphire-Cyanide

PostPosted: Sun Mar 18, 2012 9:03 am

Character Name: Chansen

Player Name: Sapphire-Cyanide

Race: Human

Aspirations: To become a great stronghold and defender for his kingdom and the Academy, to help those in need the best he can, and to master his magic even further than he has now.

Personality: Generally friendly and kind, this Ars Lilium usually displays a bright and soft, cheerful demeanor like a small but brightly glowing star in the night sky. He can be seen walking around the Academy among the other witchling students, or over at Lumena Castle Town greeting people as he goes by and asking if they're having a good day or not. But because of his happy nature, if someone were to say that they were not having a pleasant day, he'd stop right in his tracks and become a tad bit nosy. Asking why and how he could be of some help to them. He's just a overall "good feel" sort of guy, and feels if he can help in any sort of way, big or small, that he can help the world to become a better place.

Though this happiness all fades away when it comes to helping in protecting the Academy or kingdoms from evil. He will summon his familiar (whom is named "Spark" by the young man) and actively take on a shining, long sky blue and pastel yellow colored broadsword of a weapon to battle with. Overall in his beliefs, he does not take kindly to darker magic and strange people who give an "off" sort of vibe. He believes that the magic in the hearts of both young humans and majin alike should be used to help the world to flourish and grow, no matter how great your powers are, or how little they may be. To expand outside of just the world they know and maybe someday reach the stars.

Short Biography/background: As a human child, this young man always had a romantical love for the night sky and it's many stars scattered across it. He always thought it was some sort of magic... how the world could turn on a daily basis and have the sun set from the blue sky, changing it into the dark, murky depths of revealed space in a world lacking light. Every evening he would watch from his room window as the sun set late into the horizon, waiting as the stars began to twinkle into view over the colorful sky that then fell to darkness. His love of space and the stars themselves only grew, and this flickered a bit of magic in him at a young age. He never noticed it, but it always seem to grow all the more at night when he'd gaze at the night sky.

Though he began to show some magical properties at a young age, they were rather... limited. He could feel it growing within as he aged and tried to make it shown to other children, that light would only spark now and then. He could not seem to make it appear any more than the little fizzles of magic he was able to show, and this caused his heart to fall heavy after repeated, and failed, tries. Even as he aged into a teenager and old enough to attend the great Makai Academy, the magic power inside was full and ready to burst! But for some reason, no matter how hard he practiced to make it show, it refused to. Even when he sat outside in the dark after the day had passed, gazing at the stars so far away. He was disappointed in himself. He knew he had something going, but what was it? Though he was now 17, as much as he wanted to attend Makai Academy, he felt it would be a waste of time for the school to accept him and in return, not be able to unlock the magic within him. He thought he was defective, and refused to attend in the end at the age he would be accepted.

It was at the age of 19 when a small event happened in his human life that he was able to free that giant magical power that had been rising within him all those years past. A social butterfly at heart and out going, this young man was with a few of his friends heading towards a restaurant to grab a bite to eat, when he noticed a shop stand nearby seemed to be in trouble. A man had been threatening the staff to hand over all of their funds that had earned throughout the day... it was a robbery! This sparked a small fuse within the young man, and he was not just going to stand by and let this happen in his sight. Marching up to the food stand, he shouted for the man to drop his weapon and get out, but of course the human man with no magic or heart it seemed, from the way he was treating these people) only replied back with empty threats. This ignited the sudden burst of power in the boy, and he had rawly cast something that flung the robber back across the walkway and over a counter of another service stand! He could finally feel the pent up energy inside him flowing now, realizing this is what it took to reveal this magic; he had to use it for good, to help others who were in need. Though being a very late bloomer in his abilities, after the event took place that day he enrolled to Makai Royal Academy. Of course it was a bit awkward that he was on the older side compared to most of the witchlings there, but hey, better late than never!

Character Name: Levarrian, the star soul is Tav'ari
Player Name: dawns_aura
Race: Human
Aspirations: His parents died when he was young, due to the lack of a healer in his hometown. He wants to become a healer to prevent that from happening to anyone else.

Personality: Levi is very quiet, mild-mannered and gentle. He always seems to be upbeat and positive, he tries to bury any hurt or pain he feels, deeming it insignificant compared to everything. Hidden deep within is a broken boy. He does have a bit of a temper, the fuse is rather long and slow-burning, much like the actual manifestation of it, and he holds grudges longer than is necessary.
Short Biography/background:
The oldest of three children. Orphaned just before he was to enter the magic academy. Forced to accept responsibilities and make decisions that he should not have had to deal with until he was older (for their sake, he had his siblings taken in by family friends untilhe could complete his time at the academy). Lonely and burdened by the weight of the world until the middle of his first year at the academy when he met Tav'ari.

Neither the best in his 'class' nor the worst, he managed to passs the Trials on his first attempt, after which he quickly left Makai, returning to his village to get his siblings out of foster care and set up his practice. He might have sworn an oath as an Ars Lilium, but his heart is more for his healer duties.

Orpheus Solon

Stellar Dragon

Character Name: Seren Einar and Lil'Comet

Player Name: Orpheus Solon

Race: Human

Aspirations: Now that he has attained the power of an Ars Lillium and was blessed in meeting his familiar, Lil'Comet, Seren wants nothing more then to become someone worthy to entertain royalty and other higher ups with both his magic, his tricks, his acrobatics, and other such things. He is, and always has been, an entertainer in the most innocent use of the word. To be able to entertain royalty especially would be proof that all the time that he, and Lil'Comet have spent in learning the tricks of the trade weren't in vain.

Personality: Seren has always been a sweet, friendly, and helpful sort of boy seeming to show no real scars from his somewhat strange childhood other then the need to prove himself to his mother. He is the first to try to cheer up a friend, or even a complete stranger, with his various tricks and kind words. Being able to bring someone from the verge of tears to a smile is what he sees as being the ultimate victory. He is also someone that will share what it is that he has with those that need it, be it the notes he'd taken during classes while he was still in school to the money that he makes from doing tricks in his shows as a street performer. He keeps only what is needed for him and Lil'Comet to travel comfortable and donates the rest to those that are in need in whatever town he is in at the time. Going hand in hand with his sweetness is innocence which leads to him being a touch oblivious to who might pose a threat to his safety, luckily for him though he has Lil'Comet who seems to keep an eye on him while he is out playing and play he does. Lil'Comet is a bit like a watch dog in that sense... though a bit of a small one, all bark and no bite, super friendly, and always at his partner's side.

It's easily to tell at a glance that the young Ars Lilium has a bit of a hard time focusing on serious things other then his pursuit of his mother's approval, not really wanting to really use his powers, at present at least, in any sort of battle. He seems to be a pacifist at heart and doesn't understand why problems have to be solved with swords, magic, and violence in the same manner that his mother does. Why not another way? Why not his more safe, fun way? As such he will be far more likely to dodge a battle, preferring to help others to safety, instead of rushing headlong into such. He will also use some of his tricks to bedazzle those that Lil'Comet sees as dangerous so that the two of them can retreat, his favorite being the equivalent to glittering, star shaped juggling balls that, when shatter, explode into a mass of glitter and sparkling light much like a flash bang when he puts enough power into them. Better to blind and daze those sorts for a moment so he can make a clean get away instead of wanting to hurt anyone permanently, he will leave such things to those that are able to handle having blood on their hands, which is something that causes Seren sharp pains in his stomach at the mere thought.

GOOD: Friendly, Giving, Playful, Entertaining, Happy-Go-Lucky

BAD: Oblivious, Pacifist, Coward, Quick to Retreat, Feels He Needs Prove Himself

Short Biography/background: Seren was born to an unlikely pair of parents, a woman who serves among the Cerberus Knights and a man that serves the Black Hearts. They never got together and he was an accident, something he learned early and heard from time to time from his father on the few occasions that he met with the man while he was younger, visits that because fewer and fewer as he grew before the man vanished all together, back to the ranks as far as he knows. His parents meet up from time to time, seeming to be unable to avoid each other forever despite the mutual dislike of one another, something that Seren finds more then a little strange but he doesn't really question it. It is their time, their lives, and their decisions so who is he to question their strange relationship. It is because of the vast amount of time that he found himself alone when he was younger that he started to fiddle around with the idea of being an entertainer because the street performers that he saw in town drew a lot of attention to themselves. To start out with he decided that he wanted to learn such things in an attempt to get the attention of his parents but it was something that evolved quickly from there.

One of street performers in the town of Lumena where he lives took him on as her apprentice after much pleading on the part of Seren and he found himself spending more and more time with her over the years learning everything from walking on his hands, back flips, juggling, tight rope walking, and various other things like that. He seemed to be good at it but he wasn't allowed to follow only the path of a street performer for long, the moment he was old enough he found himself sent off to the academy where he would learn a 'more respectable craft' because he was of proud blood and needed to follow his mother's path and become a Cerberus Knight. It was something he felt little interest in though, try as he might, but he did at least take the first step in that direction, going through all his basic training at the academy, and from there took on the training needed to become an Ars Lillium all while using his magical skills and aptitude to make his performances that much more showy. And then there was the appearance of Lil'Comet when he because an Ars Lilium, and he found himself with that many more people watching his act as he learned that the only thing better then a cute guy performing was a cute creature helping out as his helper.

Lil'Comet is often seen among the things that Seren is juggling, and also ends up knocking the glittering, magical stars from his hands as he does so, sometimes on accident and sometimes on purpose since Lil'Comet loves to chase after them and catch them in its mouth. When they fall to the ground and collide with it they burst into what looks to consist of a mass of temporary glitter which seems to make up to the crowd for those times he drops his juggling balls. He also makes things for tense when Seren is tight rope walking by floating around him, under him, and sitting on his head among other things that can be rather distracting.

The two of them are quite the entertaining team, drawing decent crowds as they travel from city to city, and, hopefully one day, they will find themselves entertaining enough to be allowed to perform for the royals. He hopes that, if he does that, his mother will decide his chosen path, while not the most conventional, is worthy of her blood.

Character Name: Celestine Lunra and Celsius
Player Name: LunaRei_SilverBlood
Race: Majin
Aspirations: To learn to look at the big picture, rather than just the immediate goal. To find out if he really did come from the stars now that he has the power too.
Personality:
Positive:

Fanciful – Celestine grew up in a fun, outgoing and open minded home. He was always told he could do anything he wanted, be whatever he wanted. When he looks at the world, he doesn’t see the stark reality. He sees what could be, and what he wants to see.

Dreamer: Because of how he was raised, Celestine lives in his own world. That’s what works for him. Life is fun and fluffy. There so such thing as hardship to him. Not that his life is really all roses.

Neutral

Light hearted – Always with a smile and a bounce in his step. It’s rare for Celestine to be anything but happy or excited. Most serious matters are wasted on him, though over time he’ll start to learn that life isn’t always fluffy.

Negative

Deceitful – Part of his cheerful demeanor keeps him from being seen as a threat. Although he does have a light heart and sweet smile, Celestine is very capable of ulterior motives. Just because he’s kind doesn’t mean that he doesn’t do things to achieve his own means and this is normally what’s happening. But the boy doesn’t realize it’s ‘wrong’.

Simple minded – Celestine’s child like behaviors are because he’s very simple minded. Again not to say he’s not capable of something more, because he certainly is. He hasn’t found someone or something that challenges him enough. Causing him to be bored and taking everything for face value.

Short Biography/background:
Celestine’s parents were always a bit wild. They lived life their own way, in a more free manner. Kind of like hippies. When Celestine was take in as an infant, they would say that he was a fallen star, brought to earth just for them. When he was small he thought it was true, and never was told the opposite. His parent’s alternative parenting choices affected Celestine more than even they knew.

The boy was always watching the stars, wondering which ones were his parents, and why he had to fall. With these troubling questions and no answers to be found, Celestine started to develop feelings and anxiety over. But what he didn’t know at the time was that it was really his magic wanting to be released.

As he aged and became a young adult, his parents passed away. It was a rather sudden and unexpected death. Celestine was home from the academy when it occurred. Something seemed to break in his heart and he began to see the world differently. Nothing could go wrong ever. He would never take anything truly seriously.

Now as an adult Celestine is seen as a bit more snobbish because of his behavior. He doesn’t focus on one thing, and often only wants to do anything that is fun. Only once in a blue moon is something other than this side of him shows. That side of him is intense, serious and possibly dangerous, he has a great mind but almost chooses not to use it, as if those around him aren’t worth it.

His familiar Celsius came to him on a night that was clear and there was an asteroid shower. His eyes watched as something fell from the sky, and landed just behind his home in the forest. Following the beckoning light, he found the star soul and the feeling that Celestine had, was one that he couldn't explain. Like what he was looking at was part of him, and he had known it for his entire life.

DivineSaturn

Character Name: Bardhyl Idrizi (and Rezart)
Player Name: DivineSaturn
Race: Majin
Aspirations: To be remembered. To make connections with people- as many as possible, no number is too great. To achieve eternal life by having a lasting impact on the world.

Personality: Bardhyl is a people’s person. He loves to be social, and while he naturally prefers to be around people who enjoy his presence, he’d rather be among people who dislike him than be left alone. He always has a joke or a story to tell, and frequently touches the people he’s with- a handshake, a pat on the back, a light jab in the ribs. This is both to remind them that he’s there, and to reassure himself that he isn’t imagining them. He’s an excellent listener, and has a knack for knowing when to speak and when to remain silent, though he sometimes second-guesses himself and causes awkward pauses in conversation. Though his years in Moonfall and at the Academy have taught him a lot about the way the world works, he has little practical experience when compared with those who have had less isolated lives, and it shows in his interactions with others.

Beneath the surface, Bardhyl is still in many ways the child he was back in Clarus Arbor. When he’s alone- though these days he is never truly alone- he’s prone to sulking, and can easily become envious of people who seem to have what he desires: companionship, prestige, a place in the world. When he feels threatened, he tends to showboat, trying to garner as much attention as possible. Often, this leads to chastisement, as well as to personal questions that he isn’t willing to answer, as his true race is his most carefully guarded secret. He knows that were his identity as a Majin discovered, he would be shunned by the people he wants to be close to, so he scolds himself for jeopardizing his current situation, and calms down- at least, until someone else comes along and his feeling of lack is thrown back into the spotlight.

His willingness to befriend anyone, regardless of age, race, or class, is a double-edged sword; while his open-minded attitude is often appreciated, there are people who judge him by the company he keeps, and he loses out on possible relationships that way. Other people find his constant attention unnerving, while still others are suspicious of his evasiveness when asked personal questions. While Bardhyl has no shortage of people he calls friends, he has difficulty with the upkeep of lasting, meaningful relationships, seemingly more interested in quantity than quality.

Short Biography/background: Bardhyl came from a family of brewers, with a brewery called Majestic Mountain on the outskirts of Clarus Arbor. As a future brewer himself, his education was solely on the processes and machinery, and he was never able to socialize with other children. Nor were there any other children at his home, so he had several imaginary friends to distract from his solitude. He was thrilled when he was deemed old enough to come along on deliveries, eager for the chance to meet new people. But the owners and patrons of the pubs they visited were all adults with little interest in the child of the brewmaster, and the sheer disappointment Bardhyl was struck with made him feel more isolated than ever. When this happened, on the rides back to the brewery, he would often look up at the sky and tell himself that at least the stars were there to keep him company.

When Bardhyl was twelve, one of the farmers who supplied the brewery with grain passed away suddenly. The funeral was his first real interaction with other families, and while the mood was too somber for him to truly enjoy himself, he was touched by the fact that the community had gathered to remember this man. The service was soothing, and he took solace from knowing that even if he didn’t meet many other people, the ones who knew him would remember him like this one day.

Or so he thought. When, many months later, Bardhyl mentioned the funeral to one of his aunts, she seemed not to know what he was talking about. Then, when she finally understood, she barely remembered anything about the farmer other than his occupation and the color of his cap. Other members of his family had similarly incomplete memories. Bardhyl was horrified. How, he wondered, could someone live and not leave a mark on the world? What was the point, if he made no impression to anyone, if he might as well not have existed in the first place?

Before, his future of becoming the family business hadn’t overly bothered him. Now, he was terrified that his fate was to be stuck at the edge of nowhere forever, hardly meeting anyone, making a drink he didn’t even like. Unless he took action himself, that destiny wouldn’t change. He spent a while considering his options, longer still preparing, and when he was fifteen, Bardhyl ran away, smuggling himself on a cart full of ale that was bound for Moonfall.

After a life of isolation, Moonfall was jarring, and Bardhyl didn’t take to it right away. In a city full of strangers, he felt more alone than ever until he learned to assert himself and make people notice him. He learned a lot about the world outside of Majestic Mountain, about the different kinds of people, but mostly about himself. Specifically, during his time in Moonfall he learned two important facts about himself. The first, that he had magic, was fairly easy to accept; his family had never encouraged any skills that weren’t related to lagers and ales, so it had gone unnoticed for years. The other was more difficult for Bardhyl to understand, but the strange and intense hunger that he was struck with upon arriving was difficult to ignore. A few well-placed questions made the truth clear to him- he was not, in fact, human.

In a large city such as Moonfall, rumors flew about constantly, and Bardhyl learned more about public opinion of Majin, about what happened to Majin who succumbed to their hunger, and about frightening groups such as the Blackhearts, than he ever wanted to know. But all of this knowledge made Bardhyl determined not to lose the companionship that he had craved for so long just because he wasn’t who he’d once thought. As soon as he was old enough, he enrolled himself at Makai Royal Academy, intent on keeping to his goal of making an impact on the world. His resolve was strong, and he managed attain his dream of becoming not only a Witch, but an Ars Lilium, plucking a familiar from the stars that he longed to join as a child. As a newly bonded Ars Lilium, he isn’t quite sure what his next step is going to be, but he is confident of one thing: with a familiar bonded to him, no matter what happens in the future, he can never be completely alone again.
