Woo campaign rp! This is an open rp for anyone who wants to talk to S'kor. It's set after the day's speeches at the entrance to the Weyr.
He was dwarfed by the huge bronze resting beside him. They were lounging at the caravan's entrance to the Weyr. Perched on his arm was his young gold flit, Aona. S'kor himself was leaning against one of his dragon's forelegs. The caravan he had once belonged to was due in today or tomorrow.
S'kor glanced down the road again, but didn't see any signs of dust. He had several reasons to be out here. First being he'd ordered some spices that should be coming in with this trip, and he knew that Scarath would want him to make something right away to try them. The other, was to see his old friend and wherhandler Relys. The bronzerider had never seen himself obtaining a flit, and now he had a gold. Relys would surely be amused.
Scarath lifted his head from where he'd rested it on his front legs. His eyes whirled slowly a pleasant blue. If you are that eager to see them Mine, we can always fly out to them. It would be much faster than waiting for the caravan to get here.
He chuckled and shook his head. "That isn't the point of waiting Scarath. You would only upset the animals and it would take them twice as long. Unless I got off I still wouldn't be able to talk to them. We have the time today as everyone is considering the speeches that were given."

S'kor was not the only one awaiting the caravans approach with baited breath. Though Niyx had strode far from her mother and father's footsteps she was still the daughter of a caravan woman who'd won a wandering harper's heart. No amount of theories, her love of her mysterious craft, nor even her fascination with the dragons she know shared a new found home with could change that.
And so the tall copper haired candidate had rushed about her chores, well rushed as much as her pride would allow her. After all what would the candidate master say if he reviewed her work and found the clothes poorly washed? Cursing her pride, but taking pleasure in her perfect work as usual Niyx had rushed back to the candidate barracks grabbing some of her new theories and letters she'd wanted to send home and shoving them in the pouch that hung from the bright red wrap around her waist.
After all she couldn't be sure if her parents would be with THIS caravan, it wasn't unheard of for them to switch over or her grandfathers smaller one to join with the larger caravans for safety. On the other hand they did tend to visit the Weyr around this time of year and even if they weren't with this one surely this caravan would run into them eventually and could pass off her letters.
Dashing down to the caravan entrance her long legs allowing Niyx to take loping gaits making the rather wirey catlike girl appear as a blur of color. Looping around a corner though she skid to a stop her thick sandals kicking up a bit of dirt as she paused blinking up at a rider and his massive bronze the lounged near the entrance. Where they awaiting the caravan as well?

Scarath lifted his head further as he heard rushed footsteps behind them. His eyes blue with contentment as he took in the candidate. Mine, I believe we have company, he said mildly.
S'kor straightened up a bit and tried to lean around his dragon's bulk without moving from his perch. It wasn't overly successful, but he called out anyhow. "Hello there. Do you need to get through or are you looking for me?" His tone said he really didn't expect the latter.

Niyx turned eyeing the bronzerider for a moment, gray blue eyes seeming to pick him over as if weighing and calculating every detail in a diagram. "No." She stated her tone level before warming into a smile, the action tinting the edge of her lips as they tilted up with amusement. "I'm waiting on the caravan dear bronzerider. Are you awaiting it too?" Niyx asked settling to the side not far from S'kor to wait. Even if she was more the thinker then the singer her fathers harper blood ran true if only in grace and bearing despite her more awkwardly acrobatic frame.
Like a canine that hadn't quite grown into it's paws yet, but held the hints of it's grown form in it's movement. "My name is Niyx. What might your name be sir? And who? Might I ask is your handsome dragon?" And she ended her question in a delighted sigh. "He's beautiful. I would love to see him in flight. Do you think he'd mind if I tried to draw him?" She asked ever the curious girl and specially when confronted with the chance to view a bronze so closely.

He relaxed and leaned back against the soft hide as he found out she hadn't come for him. While he hadn't thought there would be any call for him, he would answer it when it came. The caravan would be around for several days at least, so it could wait. S'kor arched a brow at her.
"Dear bronzerider? I think not." His voice had a hint of humor, but his grey eyes didn't. "We are as a matter of fact. I suppose you have a purpose for coming out here then?" He was curious why she would be waiting for the caravan. It would be a couple hours before they were set up and ready to trade.
"A please to meet you Niyx. I'm S'kor, of Scarath. Thank you." S'kor blinked in surprise a bit. The dragon watched Niyx with one eye, while the other kept watch on the road. Let her Mine. I do not mind, and I can spread my wings if she likes.
He gave a snort, but relayed the message. "You may draw him, and if you want he'll open his wings." Vain beast, you'd better lay back on the treats or they'll be calling you fat bronze instead of beautiful, he teased.

"Well then it's lovely to meet you S'kor and bronze Scarath." She replied and though his voice warmed with humor she was rather worried her greeting had somehow offended the man. After all being only a candidate and one from perhaps not the most respected of crafts she didn't often deal with others.
Not that she particularly mind, Niyx had always been one to prefer the company of scrolls to people. After all scrolls couldn't snap at you or be insulted or worse betray you. Scrolls were logical, predictable, and their stories and words offered endless possibilities. "My father is a travelling harper and my mother a trader. They often come to the Weyr this time of year and I was hoping that they might be traveling with this caravan or that the caravan might bring news of them." Niyx explained her eyes widening a fraction with rather well dealt with surprise at the bronzes consent. Trying not to give away too much of her excitement she fumbled with her waist pouch nearly spilling out half of her theories and sketches in doing so in search of a clean hide. Only a quick flick of the wrist and well honed reflexes saves the older hides from meeting their fate in the dust. Letting out a sigh of relief and checking her work had not been smudged she once more tucked the carefully penned problems away drawing out a clean hide and piece of charcoal to draw with.
"Oh he needn't open his wings if he doesn't wish it." Niyx hastily assured S'kor with a quirk of a smile her lifting a hand to brush a strand of short wild copper hair from her face to be tucked once more under her red headband and the metal goggles that rested on them. "In fact~" Niyx paused turning to the bronze not quite sure how to address a dragon. "Bronze Scarath please poise how ever you feel the most comfortable. It won't take me long to do the outline sketch, the details and shading don't require quite as much stillness."

She felt tired. Both physically and mentally. They'd lost so many. Riders that she did not know personally but still felt the pain of their loss all the same. Shards, this was not what she'd been prepared for. But who really had? Narisa closed her eyes and enjoyed the feel of the wind against her face. Cold, biting, and alive. It was relaxing and helped her clear her mind. And she definitely needed that relaxation right now.
Cepheith dipped the tip of her wing in a slow and lazy spiral towards the ground. The gold had suggested taking a small flight around the Weyr and surrounding area. Never too far though. As much as they both felt confined, both were good at not stretching their freedom. Even if it was minimal at this time.
<I wish Abigail would wake up.> She thought quietly to Cepheith. The gold one snorted.
I wish so as well. But we are strong and shall be their wings until then. She had spotted something that looked of interest. One of the bronzes. Adjusting her flight, she aimed for landing nearby, careful of her surroundings and any that might be equally curious as to what this bronze pair was up to.
<Who is that?>
Scarath and His. Shall we see what they are up to? And those with them? With a mental nod from her rider, Cepheith flew in for a gentle landing, lowering herself so Narisa could dismount. Once down, the gold rose and shook, as if wet, before nudging her rider affectionately.
Greetings to you and yours, Scarath!
Narisa smiled at those she walked towards, cheeks slightly red from the chill of flying. "We noticed you guys while flying and thought we'd come say hi." She said in addition to her dragons greeting, directing it towards everyone. "What's everyone up to? Oh and good luck in the campaign, S'kor!"

He relaxed enough to give her a sketchy bow from where he sat and a smile. A rumble came from the bronze at her greeting. "He gives his greeting." S'kor took interest in her when she mentioned her mother being a trader. "You're mother is a trader? It might interest you that I am an ex-trader." His eyes flickered to the large bronze head over head as the reason he stopped.
"I haven't gotten any news that the Camrann Caravan has anyone new with them this time. That's the one that's due in some time. It's the one I was with actually. I hope they have word of your parents for you." He didn't hear much from his own mother, but he enjoyed conversing with his father with they stopped at the Weyr. Scarath politely kept his wings folded and tried to pose to give her the best angle. Tell her I am ready Mine.
S'kor chuckled, "draw as you will Niyx." Don't get a big head over this. Or should I ask her to bring you a treat for your services? He teased the male. A gold suddenly came in to land and he stood up. He gave a deep respectful bow to her and her rider. "Greetings Goldrider. You would be Narisa and Cepheith I believe? S'kor and Bronze Scarath."
Scarath despite trying to stay still gave a deep croon of welcome to the gold. Likewise to you and Yours Cepheith. What brings you out this fine day? He eyed the young gold appreciatively.
"You are most welcome. We are waiting for the caravan that's due within the next day or so." He smiled and inclined his head to her. "Thanks. I can only try to help fill the gaps that have been left."

"Yes sir. I'm afraid trading wasn't my calling in life, but I'm still very proud of my mother and her work." Niyx replied politely a fond smile dancing across her lips in memory of the rather traditional woman who would often sigh and shake her head at her rather odd daughter. All while her spritely father and his band laughed in the background with delight. "It's good to know that the traders are well represented here at the Weyr." She continued with a wry smile at the older bronzerider though her face fell somewhat when he mentioned he hadn't heard of anyone knew joining the caravan.
"Well it's not uncommon for my mothers smaller group to join with larger caravans like that of Camrann Caravan. Perhaps they would not be viewed as 'new?" Niyx added somewhat hopefully, but turned her attention instead to beginning the outline sketch of the handsome bronze. Sketching out the lines and admiring the glint of light on rich hide doing a bit to cheer the young girl up. After all it was difficult to get a dragon to hold still long enough to get a basic sketch and Niyx had no intention of passing up such a wonderful opportunity.
As a shadow fell over the pair and a second voice called out she glanced over her shoulder trying not to jump in surprise at the sight of gold and rider standing behind her. Scarath's croon to the beautiful breathtaking Queen jarred the candidate back to reality as she went back to her work only giving a low polite nod to the goldrider before ducking her head hoping to avoid notice.
"There you go Scarath. You can move now." She assured the bornze in a low voice finishing up the last of the outline so the handsome dragon could go about his flirting unencumbered. The detail and shading would take longer, but would not require him to hold quite as still.
"Go on she's beautiful." Niyx whispered to the bronze though she was certain he knew the virtues of a Queen far better then a lowly candidate. Then again Niyx was fond of anyone who didn't mind her experiments and curiosity too much along side her odd ways. Therefore she was more then behind the bronze possibly winning the lovely Queen's eye though she doubted the confidence of one candidate would do much to aid in such endeavors

A pleasant smile and a return bow was given to the bronzerider. She couldn't recall ever meeting him in person. But, is she remembered right, he was Optheli's brother. "Yes, that would be us. It's a pleasure to finally meet you, S'kor. Scarath." She gave him friendly and slightly teasing grin. "I've heard much about the two of you from Optheli."
Just stretching my wings and trying not to feel so cooped up. The gold replied absently, head tilted as she observed the other human female. She was doing something strange with the writing materials. Standing beside her rider still, Cepheith lowered her head enough to blink down at the scribbles and lines the girl drew. What is she doing? The gold asked Scarath curiously.
"The caravan you say?" There was a caravan due soon, wasn't there? She gave herself a mental sigh. It was difficult trying to keep up with everything happening within the Weyr. Especially with so many injured and the changes having to be made within the wings. "Well I'm glad that there is someone kind enough to await their arrival." Her smile softened a little, a hint of weariness and sadness in her gaze. "Aye. We very much appreciate those like you doing what you can to help."
Her gaze turned towards the other girl that seemed to have been sketching the bronze. She gave the girl a big smile. "Forgive my rudeness. I am Narisa and this is Cepheith!"

S'kor gave a pleasant laugh. "There's nothing to be sorry for Niyx. Being a trader isn't for everyone." He didn't mention that his own mother had left the caravan several short turns after Optheli was born. He nodded, she should be proud. "Oh trust me I never had any intensions of leaving the traders, but Scarath had his own ideas."
The rider gave a small shake of his head and a shrug. "The Camrann families are pretty close. Anyone is new to them, unless the join and remain with the caravan." They had to be close. Protection was vital. He glanced at Niyx as he heard her speak to the dragon. "All done? That was fast. Mind if I have a look?"
Scarath turned his attention from the gold back to the girl. Though he relaxed from his pose, he didn't move much. She will pick who she wants, he said softly into Niyx's mind. The dragon kept an eye on everyone and flipped his wings across his back.
I offered to fly Mine to the caravan, but he'd rather wait here. Scarath replied to Cepheith with humor at his rider's' whims. The dragon rumbled. She was sketching me. Perhaps if you ask she will like to sketch you as well.
S'kor couldn't help but wonder what exaclt Optheli had said about him. He gave a bit of an embarrassed grin. "She said she'd talked with you awhile. I'm glad she's finding friends here, though that ususally isn't a problem for her." He nodded then chuckled. "As I was once part of that caravan it's only right that I greet them at least. Plus I'm sure Relys would like to meet Aona. It's no trouble at all Narisa. We weren't busy at the time."

Ever since the campaign's had started Eliza had looked upon it as a reason to go out and do her favorite thing..talk to people. Velath had been just as excited and often followed her's around like a green shadow overhead as Eliza sought out and interviewed all the candidates she could find.
At the moment they were following D'lin as he made his way up the path ahead of him 'Velath tell him to wait!' The green rider asked her dragon who was, as always, more then eager to help. 'Plexith!' The green bid D'lin's bronze 'Mine asks if your's can wait for her"
When D'lin paused ahead and looked backwards Eliza picked up the pace and hurried to catch up, as she rounded the corner and caught up she noted a group of other's just ahead..one of them was S'kor! What luck,,now she could talk to two of the campaigners at the same time! Catching up with D'lin she beamed at him. "Where are you headed? Going to talk to the others there?" She asked the bronzerider as she fell into step beside him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D'lin had been heading to find S'kor in the hopes that he might know someone on the approaching caravans that he could talk to about some leather, S'kor had dealt in spices as far as D'lin knew but surely he knew someone who might be able to get him what he needed.
Of course he also wanted to talk to him about the campaigns and possible future wing positions, as he approached however he took note of the small group already surrounding his fellow bronze rider, Plexith of course made sure to point out that Cepheith and hers were a part of the group.
'Velath ask that you wait for her's' The bronze suddenly added and slightly puzzled D'lin paused and turned...only to spot Eliza fairly bouncing towards him from down the pathway. He had already heard from a couple of other campaigners about the green riders flurry of questions and had only been awaiting her ambush..perhaps if he hurried he could reach the group ahead and she'd be too distracted to focus all of her questions on him.
"Eliza" He greeted the young women politely as she dropped into step beside him and they continued on their way "I was hoping to speak with S'kor yes" He confirmed as they drew closer and D'lin raised a hand in greeting to those ahead.

"Hello Ma'am. It is good to meet you both. My name is Niyx, I'm a candidate." Niyx replied her voice soft, but warm as she gave the goldrider a smile and a polite nod only to blink up in awe at the big gold head peering down at what she was working on.
It wasn't until S'kor spoke that she was jarred out of her revere. "Oh um no it's not done just yet. I just sketched his poise and outline first so Scarath could move again without messing up the sketch." Niyx quickly explained, but flipped the sketch over anyway to show the rough outline and basic drawing of the handsome bronze and where she'd begun shading and doing details. Flipping the hide back over she got right back to work. "Give me a few more minutes though and it'll be all done. I'd like to do well by your dragon in drawing him." She explained only glancing up from her work to check on Scarath to make sure she got this mark or that just right.
Niyx nearly dropped the charcoal stick though as her head shot up eyes wide as the bronze's voice filled her head making her flush with surprise and inspiration. Niyx personally thought any gold would do well by him, but who was she to advise a Queen what to do.
Gripping her charcoal a little tighter she carefully smudges some of the marking, shading, and sharpening other spots until she felt satisfied. Then flipping the finished picture over she held it up for the bronze and rider to see.
There on the hide in multiple shades of black and gray was a carefully drawn picture of the massive bronze before them in all his majesty. It certainly wasn't a professional harper's sketch, but it was clear Niyx had put a good deal of heart into the work, taking care to capture the bronze as best she could on the worn hide.

By Niyx's answer, he almost thought she wouldn't show it to him. But just as quickly the hide turned to him. S'kor leaned down and peered at it appreciatively. Once or twice he peered up at the bronze who arched his neck. It was still very rough, but he could tell it was his bronze; perhaps he was just biased. "I like it....." He didn't get much chance to go on as she went back to work.
S'kor glanced instinctively toward the road. Still no sign of the caravan. He wondered if they'd even show up today. Unless they were really close to their destination, they always stopped at a certain time. Making camp, even in prepared areas, took time. When he turned back he was pleasantly surprised to see D'lin coming their way. Though he didn't know the woman with him, he waved back to show he'd spotted them.
All too quickly the girl turned the hide back toward him. His eyebrows raised slightly in surprise as he saw it. There was no doubt now who it was meant to be. The dragon gave a pleased croon at the hide. "That certainly does capture him doesn't it? Were you set on keeping that piece?" He looked at her curiously. S'kor while willing to let her keep that one, wanted one for himself.
Scarath rumbled a greeting to D'lin. How is Yours Plexith? He greeted his fellow bronze before peering down at the girl by him. Mine, if she does another you should be in it too. His eyes whirled happily.

'Thank you Plexith' Velath told the bronze politely after he had accepted her request so easily, the chatty green however was far more interested in what her's was doing then any further discussion with Plexith however and turned her attention in that direction.
"Oh good!" Eliza told D'lin as she bounced alongside him in an excited manner " Do you think you can introduce us?" She asked him "I have some questions about the campaign's, I want to talk to you about it too of course...isn't it exciting? Oh well obviously not how this all came about of course - that was terrible, but you know the chance that your all having to move up!" She went on and then as though suddenly thinking that maybe D'lin would take this the wrong way hurried to add "Not that you guys wouldn't have moved up otherwise of course - I'm sure you would have!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D'lin listened to Eliza go on with a good natured expression on his face - there really wasn't any other way to take Eliza to be honest. If you got annoyed at everything she said then you'd be constantly annoyed and really what was the point in that. Besides she had a good heart in the end and didn't mean any harm regardless of her sometimes ditzy impression.
"It's all very differant" He answered Eliza as they came up to the group which was about as much of an agreement as she would get out of him at the moment. He would introduce her to S'kor however as requested and did so as soon as they were close enough. "S'kor...Eliza of Green Velath" He introduced her before nodding respectfully and greeting Narisa her her gold "Narisa, Cepheith" Of course they had not met in person - but he knew who they were as all the bronzeriders did. He did not know the other young women with the group but gave her a pleasant smile all the same, one never knew which candidate you would end up flying with someday.
'He is good' Plexith bespoke his fellow bronze 'perhaps a bit nervous about the upcoming voting though he will not admit it'
