Nkiru was beside herself with excitement at living in a pride. The rogue lands were exciting and grand and she still wanted to go out and see them all some day - but this whole pride thing was new to her too. Urudja had explained it to her a bit; a lot of females, all felines, living together. The whole "no boys" thing was a bit strange, but... but a pride was like a family and now she had all these new sisters and friends to hang out with! Eagerly she set out to find another female to talk to; she just had to meet all of her new bestest best friends right away.

Makoto was finally able to break away from her daughters constant needs. With Sho watching over them, the Elite Guard was able to return to her daily duties knowing that everything would be fine. It just wasn't something she thought she would get used to so quickly. Makoto just took a deep breath and moved forward through the pride. She was a mother. A young, aggressive mother, but a mother never the less and she was damn proud of it.

Where could the other lionesses be? Maybe the dens? Nkiru had left her dear Kiongozi behind to rest after she had complained about being tired and not wanting to deal with crazy lions (or something to that effect) so she couldn't count on her bird friend's keen eye sight to help her out. Which didn't mean she was helpless, oh no. Nkiru had gotten along well enough on her own before she had run into Kiongozi and she could it do it again, no problem. But wait, was that? Yes! A lioness, there there! She bounded over to the other lioness calling out, "Hey! I'm Nkiru, I'm new and I just got here and it's so nice to meet you and"

What a sight she must have been, dusty and thin and full of so much energy she nearly popped. She was so excited that she almost tripped over her own paws and fell on her face as she stopped in front of the other female.

To say that Makoto wasn't impressed by this new rogue was an understatement. She'd known that a new member had been initiated into their ranks, but had yet to meet the girl. She mentally groaned. Awesome, just freaking awesome. "Hey." She nodded her thick head towards the frail female, her bulky height mixing with her dark expression. "You should be doing something productive instead of chit-chatting."

Oh man oh man she was so big when seen from up close, how cool. Nkiru tilted her head back to get a good luck at the bigger female, a stupid smile plastered across her face. Would she get that big and strong if she stayed here? Well, she’d never get any bigger because she was full grown and hadn't grown for a good long while, but she could still get stronger. "What should I do?" she asked, eager to help. Would it be something with another lioness? Could she work AND make friends at the same time? All the friends.

Gods above, what the hell was up with this female? She had this...really weird smile on her face that was seriously starting to creep Makoto out. She shifted on her paws, her ears flat against her skull with an uncomfortable look on her face. "Well, what are you good at? Can you hunt? Or are you better with cubs?"

"I can hunt," said Nkiru. "Not too great on my own, but I was real good at hunting with my siblings before I left home. Never spent any time with cubs before... mom said we had to leave once the pregnancy started to show. Me an' three of my brothers and one of my sisters all had to go, only my two oldest sisters got to stay. They're probably really good with cubs..." Nkiru frowned, realizing for the first time that she had NEVER spent any time with cubs. She remembered spending time with siblings when she was a cub herself, but that was hardly the same thing. What would it be like to spend time with cubs now that she was full grown? They’d be all little and stuff.

Okay, well, cubsitting was out. That generally meant that midwife was ruled out as well, as you would generally need some kind of prior knowledge for the position. Makoto paused, taking this into account, as well as the female's prior hunting experience. "You...have a huge family." She managed to say. For the longest time, the only ones in her family had been her sister, her mate, and Makoto. "Anyway, if you're so good at hunting, why aren't you doing that? You could help out a lot with the hunt."

Nkiru nodded earnestly. "I can do that!" It didn't even matter that she had barely arrived or that she didn't know where to hunt - if hunting was what she needed to do, then hunting was what she would do. Maybe with a great deal more enthusiasm than skill, but... Nkiru's heart was in the right place. She had left her old family behind, so this pride would be her new one. And she would be the best little huntress she possibly could; she'd make her new family proud or die trying. "It was awfully nice meeting you, I'll go... hunt someplace! Find lots of food." With a final grin at the bigger lioness, Nkiru bounded off.

"Good. You should go see the Head Huntress immediately." Or something like that. To be honest, Makoto was still learning the ropes herself, but with her position she needed to show a certain level of confidence. As she watched the other bound off, Makoto managed to step forward and call out in her gruffest voice, "Just try not to be a bother!" She shook her head, murmured something under her breath and sauntered on to work.
