Cosine stood in the courtyard, staring up at the temple she was about to leave. She had spent the day making sure that those staying to watch them temple knew what they were doing. She really wanted it to be a success and they seemed to too.

It crossed her mind that they should say goodbye to Ayumi and Hiro, though, wouldn't it be more interesting to be the strangers that came and vanished? it would do more to their legends.

Hearing footsteps she turned to see Yuki and his daughter making their way towards her. They were carrying bags and clearly ready to leave.
"Don't look so worried. We do not have to travel far." She said with a warm smile. "I hope very much that you will enjoy your new home."

Aiko smiled and shifted her bag up on her shoulder.
"We hope so too."

It wasn't long before Ankou showed up, as well, with his own kin in tow. The girl, Shani - now also named Eir - looked a little wobbly on her feet, but otherwise well - through it was obvious that the god was slowing his steps to not outpace her, to be close and catch her, should she lose her footing.

Memories of the past were a lot to process... He knew this very well himself, now. She'd recovered a little quicker than Hrist had, but the rest, once they were back at the pantheon, would do her much good.

He stopped and let Shani fall in step beside him, sending a sideway glance to make sure she was still well, then nodded in greeting. "Is everyone ready ?"

Shani, for her part, nodded. The winged woman must have been the true Numbers deity, the one she'd heard about. Who seemed quite close to her newly found lord, actually. As much as all of this was utterly confusing, that much did ring true. So she gave a light bow - light enough so that she wouldn't lose her unstable footing, and hoped the goddess would not find affront in it. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, Lady."

Gods liked these kind of gestures, right ? Well, Pythagoras had... even if having been tricked not only one, but twice, in a way, did sting.

Cosine watched Ankou and the girl walk across the courtyard, noting her uneven steps. Poor thing looked utterly confused, though she imagined her experience being something like her own as gods reborn.
"I believe so," she looked to her followers, who both gave a nod. Behind them the other temple dwellers had appeared to say goodbye.

Aiko and Yuki gave them a wave and the unusual party set off for the door. They would just have to hope that it was still open.

"Are we going far ?" She asked, idly. Shani... Eir... Which one was she, now ?

Both, maybe. She followed Ankou closely, even now still drawn to the power of the spear that he carried, through now in a more knowing - and willing - fashion.

She nodded at Aiko and Yuki, recognizing them. In a way it was... soothing to know she wasn't going alone, that she'll have something familiar among all the strange, and new, things.

"The Door is not too far from here." Ankou answered. "But the pantheon is not on this world." The god himself looked... no, not tired and weary like Cosine had seen him the night before, but.. distracted, almost.

Cosine noted his distraction but would not bring it up. It was not the time or the place to have a personal discussion. Especially not in front of the mortals ... and Valkyrie. Though she supposed they might be akin to the aoide they lived their lives around.
"Well, lets get moving then shall we?" She turned to lead the way. It had crossed her mind that they should go through the village and say goodbye to those that had been so kind to them. Though it might be more interesting to be the strangers that came and went, let the legends build.

The father and daughter took a look back at the home that had once been theirs and turned to follow the gods.

It had not even occurred to Ankou that they were going to walk through the town again, or he might have shifted down to a more mortal-seeming form, as what his habit. But he did not - instead, he seemed content to let Cosine lead the way and follow along.

...The voices of the dead seemed to come from so far away rather suddenly...

Eir set off after the Spirit Guide, clearly a little confused herself, but the silence was almost worse than the strange memories that lurked her mind. "So, Lady Cosine... That temple was yours, if I am correct ?"

...That was a stupid question. Small talk with deities was going to take some time to get used to.

Cosine led the way, this time cutting through behind the houses and directly towards the hill that they had climbed down so carefully. Hopefully going back up it would be much easier. At the question she turned her head a little and smiled at the young woman.
"Yes, it was, and is. Hopefully people will not forget it this time."

"I hope so." The goddess' smile was comforting, so she offered her own in return. She seemed much... kinder, more easily approachable than what she had through deities to be.

Having Ankou as her first real contact probably did not help, through... really, the god hadn't seemed so scatter-brained earlier, hadn't he ? He looked like if he was listening to something no one else could hear, and that was... strange.

Her own awareness of the dead was still under-developed, he had said so himself, but she heard nothing out of the ordinary.

....They were coming from further away ! It was tempting to just bolt off to check, but Cosine's presence was, thankfully, a constant reminder that something had to get done here. He kept listening, through, not keeping track of the conversation in between Cosine and Eir at all. Nothing out of the ordinary in itself, but the distance made it feel different, and he wanted to figure it out.

It was now Cosine's turn to notice Ankou. She watched him out of the corner of her eye for a moment, he was certainly not with them really. His gaze was off nowhere in particular and his direction not very straight.
"Ankou, careful." she grabbed his arm and steered him out of the way of a young tree. He had been acting strangely since he had aquired Gungnir. "What's wrong?" She asked.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2012 12:30 pm

"Ah ?" Yes, that tree had been the last thing on Ankou's mind. It was the touch that seemed to finally return his focus to where he was now.

"Nothing ?" Was the answer, and... yes, he had no idea why Cosine was even asking him that. "The dead are pretty loud."

"...I havn't heard anything ?" Very helpful, Eir, but she couldn't help but interject. Redheads were often known for their tempers, after all, even if her's was currently toned down by her confusion.

".....Hm." Really, this only seemed to confirm his feeling - that those he were hearing were far away. Eir might have been untrained, but she had showed the capability before. There was no way she'd miss something this loud. "Nothing too important, through. No not try to strain yourself, Eir."

Cosine lifted an eyebrow at his rather distracted and unconcerned words. If she was honest he was starting to get on her nerves a little, starting to sound a little aloof like another certain pale god. That thought made her smile, she might have even laughed out loud if it wasn't for the fact that those in the party might think her crazy.
"Oh, if that's all you can walk into the next tree, or maybe fall down a hole if we come across one." An impish grin formed on her green lips, maybe she'd stick her foot out. "If you need to leave?" She added with more seriousness. "We can make it back from here."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2012 1:20 pm

...What was she even talking about ? Yup, that particular eyebrow-rise was a surefire sign that the sarcasm was about to start flying, and unsurprisingly, it did.

"Actually, I'd rather not, if you would be so kind." Yeah, that was more like the usual.

Through... "No, it will be fine. It just took me by surprise." He could tone them out, and look more deeply into it later - and he did just that.

...Wait, when did they get past the village ? Ngh. Yes, it was starting to become obvious that he had spaced out - and badly, at that.

Cosine rolled her eyes and continued up the hill saying nothing more. If he was going to be a pain then that was fine. She made sure the mortals and valkyrie went up first, helping her along a little as she still looked rather unsteady.
"The door is at the top, wait by the tree with the white blossoms there." She pointed to a pair of trees that were blooming among the other dead ones. The pantheon's influence she imagined.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2012 1:45 pm

Yep. He'd screwed up. Sigh. He was going to have to explain in detail whenever they finally were alone again... Once he figured out exactly what he'd felt right there.

He went back to being quiet, less he keep on his apparent track record of the day, but at least trees were no longer a massive danger.

Eir had known better than to say anything, really - those two argued like an old married coupe, beside the old and possibly the married part. Did gods even marry ? Ergh.

Through... "A door ? But we're in the middle of a forest... ?"

Yep... She hadn't gotten that part of the plan yet.

"Well, you will see." Cosine strode past them to the trees. "Just follow me. It will be fine I promise." She stepped between the trees and out into the hallway not far from their rooms.

Yuki glanced to his daughter and took her hand firmly in his. He had brought her up after the death of her mother and he would not let her go, not just yet.
"Ready." he said with a smile, following the goddess between the trees and stepping out, rather bizzarely in a hallway of doors.
