Princess Eva was eyeing him. It was a bit...disconcerting really. She did not look pleased. But really, how was he supposed to know that his homework would run up and lick her as soon as he set her down? "I am sorry Princess Eva, but I must look after her for class. She is my homework. And I have promised Alexander that I would meet him, and I do not know when he is expecting me. I shall return later."

She seemed to have narrowed her eyes at him. But at least the cycorgi had not yet been able to leap up onto the bed, so she was at least safe for now. "Your dinner is in your bowl," he said, walking back to set the bowl on the bed so she would not have to brave the cycorgi to get to it. As for Lady Terror...well she seemed perfectly fine about everything really. She had even played with the puppy a bit. Yin still left the room heavy-hearted though, it was devastating to leave Princess Eva like that. But she would be even more traumatized if she saw the zomboil's room.

He made his way across the campus quickly, a pair of rats dangling from one hand. Alexander had said that they would have dinner, but he had not specified whether or not Yin should bring something. And Yin would rather that they have too much food than not enough. Walking into the Undead dormitory was not quite as bad as last time, as this time he had tightly wrapped two shirts around him and then layered over that his gift from Ulmuka. He had used spare wraps for his wrists and palms, as well as making sure that his legs were well covered as wearing two pairs of pants did not seem to be a real option. He still hurried through the hallways and down the stairs, taking them two at a time as Alexander was not with him. He soon found himself at the zomboil's door. He knocked. Silence. Knocked again. Silence. He carefully tested the door and it opened. The zomboil was not there, and he could only (hopefully) assume that he had gone to get food, though he had no idea what Alexander typically hunted at the school.

Undead eyes stared at him from around the room, but Fei bounded up happily. He shut the door and leaned down to pat him on the head gently, long fingers carefully scratching him behind his ears. Now then. Where to put the rats. Finally he decided that the only thing to do was set them on one of the bookshelves in front of the books. He picked up a fairly decimated shirt from the floor and attempted to removed part of the layer of dust, not that it helped in all likelihood. In fact, the shirt might have contaminated them, he really could not be certain at this point.

And now just to wait for the zomboil's return. Or...well there were things that he could be doing. He eyed the room. Alexander had said that his pets liked trash but...well...maybe he could understand them liking clothing. That was soft. But that candy wrapper there? Or that paper? He began to collect those bits, neatly stacking any papers that he found on one of the bookshelves and making an ever-growing pile of trash for the obvious waste. There were bits of rotted meat that not even the pets would touch anymore and he began putting those in an empty bag, glad that he had a rather strong stomach, and was used to tasks that not everyone would complete. Oh and while he was at it? Well the clothing would probably be better off if it was at least in somewhat organized piles. Shirts here. Pants there. Socks and undergarments over there. Just about the only thing he was not finding on the floor were ties, which all seemed to be perfectly situated on a rack apparently designed for that purpose. At some point he even made the bed as he moved, the activity at least keeping his blood flowing, though his nose was beginning to run from the cold as he worked.

After Alexander left the human studies class, he'd gone directly back to his dorm to drop off the cycorgi puppy, placing him in the closet for now since he didn't have time to introduce him to the rest of the pets. He was a bit nervous about how the undead pets would react, and hoped they didn't get a sudden craving for cycorgi brains. Fei had no trouble, as he was swift and lithe and able to easily keep the horde of zombiejoxs at bay. It didn't take them long to get used to him, and eventually things had settled back down.

But this puppy...it wasn't Fei. It was an untrained menace that was just going to cause trouble. Alex could tell that already. And, as he had already noted earlier, the poor thing didn't seem to have any sense of smell whatsoever, which may have not been such a bad thing, considering his owner.

And so, after getting rid of the pup and stopping to give Fei a pat on the head, he grabbed his skateboard, and the handful of silver seeds he had left to his name. He was going to have to give his mother another call to plead for money, it seemed, because after tonight...well, he'd probably be completely broke. Maybe if he got Yin to talk to her...she seemed to like him...

Breaking off that train of thought, he shambled out of the room, forgetting to lock his door in his haste to get to the nearest decent food junction.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Probably an hour or so later, Alex returned, with a large paper bag in one arm, and his skateboard in the other. Delicious smells of the contents within had many undead eyes watching him hungrily as he passed, but he ignored them. This was his food, they could just go and find or buy their own.

The trek downstairs took him quite a long time, as usual, but he made it without encountering any problems. As he approached his room, he paused. Was that..movement he could hear on the other side of the door? Oh...right, he'd forgotten to lock it! It was probably just Yin, come earlier then Alex had anticipated. That was fine. If it was somebody else though...

Alex steeled himself, and grabbed ahold of the doorknob, twisting it as he pushed the door open with his shoulder.

Then he was met with a most horrifying sight. Yin was...cleaning his room. He was cleaning Alex's room. He had had a pretty strong feeling that Yin did not exactly approve of the way Alex kept his personal space, but he had stubbornly chosen to ignore it, deciding that it was just something that Yin was going to have to deal with. But now...now it was painfully obvious that Yin didn't want to deal with it, as he had begun sorting through the garbage, the clothes, the papers, and oh my dear jack was that an actual floor Alex could see??

He cringed inwardly, not at all happy with what was going on, but also unwilling to let it show. Yin meant well, and was only trying to help. Though if he expected Alex to act appreciative of his efforts...Ya, no. That wasn't going to happen.

"Uh..Hi!" He said, eyes still sweeping the room that was now less cluttered and filthy then it had been before. "You're uh..earlier then I expected. I see you've been keeping yourself busy?" He kept his tone carefully neutral. There was no reason to get upset or to make Yin believe that he was. After all, his mother used to do things like this from time to time back home.

Oh dear jack, Alex was just realising something. He was dating somebody who was just like his mother.

When the sound of the door opening reached Yin's ears he could not help it that he tensed up, jerking his head toward the door. It was almost like he had be caught doing something he perhaps could not have been doing, but really it was probably just the surprise of the noise. He looked at the zomboil and smiled, dropping one last piece of trash (for now) into the complete trash pile. "Hello Alexander."

The zomboil seemed to be surveying his room rather closely. "Yes, it appeared that I arrived early. I was not sure when you actually wanted me to show up and did not wish to be late." He made no comment about what he had been doing, which was rather obvious. He was not going to tell his bonded that his room was filthy, or that it desperately needed cleaned, or that he was fairly certain that some of the garbage he had picked up was beginning to attract Fear and might have grown into something given enough time. Nor did he mention some of the smells that had assaulted him as he had gotten ever closer to the floor. Those were things he really did not wish to dwell on, and as a guest it would just be rude to point them out.

Not to clean them up though apparently.

But whatever it was that Alexander was holding smelled delicious. "I was uncertain of what you had planned for dinner, so I brought a few rats in case. Would it be alright for me to feed them to your pets?" He scooped up the pair, not wanting to leave them on the shelf. If he did who knew how long they might stay there.

Alex finally took a couple of steps into his bedroom, shutting the door behind him with perhaps more force then strictly necessary. Nope, he wasn't upset, he just didn't know his own strength sometimes. No need to worry. Fei came bounding up towards him, the small vaisel still just a kitten and not having reached his full grown form yet. He purred happily as he rubbed up against Alex's legs.

Alex however, still could just not stop staring at what Yin had done. It was all he could do not to walk over and kick over the different sorted piles he had made. To take his focus off of that, he finally dragged his gaze back to Yin, and forced a smile. "Well, I guess it's a good thing I forgot to lock my door then." He took a few more shuffling steps into the room, his feet feeling awkward beneath him as they slid over a clean floor without kicking up garbage. He placed the bag of food down on the desk next to his laptop.

Alex's room was fairly more furnished then Yin's. There was a comforable looking chair in one corner near the bookshelf, and a desk with another chair in front of it for his laptop. And then, of course, there was the bed that Alexander rarely used, that was larger and much more comfortable then the one in Yin's room. It wasn't a large and fancy room like the ones in the demon or reaper dorms, but it was fine for an undead zombie who didn't sleep or cook or strictly require any amount of cleaning if he didn't wish to.

With the paper bag out of hand, he finally made his way closer to Yin, who was grabbing a pair of rats off of the bookshelf and explaining how he'd brought them for dinner. Alex really wouldn't have minded eating them, to be honest, but he had just gone and spent the last of his money on far more delicious things, so giving them to the pets for dinner wasn't a terrible idea. "Ya, sure." He shrugged, then looked at Yin critically, his eyes taking in the weremantis's poor running nose and instantly feeling bad. Of course, even with all of his extra layers of clothes the weremantis would be cold!

"Are you going to be okay if we stay in here? If it's too cold for you, we can always go and eat outside." He said. At least out there the pumpkin sun gave out a some small amount of heat, and Alex could stop looking around at the cleaning Yin had done to his room in complete despair.

Yin had never considered that the zomboil might not appreciate his attempts at cleaning the room, as paltry as they were. There was still a mess, and he was pretty sure there was mold growing up the side of the wall just over there. If only he had known that mold did not grow in cold climates...but that simply would have brought up too many questions as to what that actually was over there. As such, he did not realize how uncomfortable Alexander seemed to be.

"Oh, I am fine for now. I suppose I have to start getting used to the cold at some point." Yes, with his layers he would survive, though it was uncomfortable and seemed to be sapping energy from him now that he had stopped moving. And immunity to Alexander hinting they should leave? Yeah, he had that.

He crouched down, glancing around at the pets. There was the cycorgi of course, and Fei, as well as the pet he had captured for Alexander and at least two others he had seen the zomboil with. And a lot that he had seen partial glimpses of as they had fled to new hiding spots when he had started moving things. So it would probably be bad for him to leave whole rats for them to fight over. The dead creatures had already stiffened up and he began ripping them apart, the sound of cracking bones and tearing flesh making his mouth water. The smell of blood seemed to be causing a bit of rustling around the room as well as he began laying out limbs on the mostly clear patch of floor, unable to force himself to just throw the bits around the room.

Last but not least he dealt with the heads. These he carefully decimated and when he finally straightened up he offered the rather pathetically tiny rat brains to Alexander. Zombies seemed to go crazy over brains, and while it was certainly not even a mouthful perhaps Alexander would like them. "How was your trip to get food?" If he had known the zomboil would have been leaving the campus he would have accompanied him so he was not forced to carry the bag by himself.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2012 1:14 pm

The idea of Yin forcing himself to get used to the cold was one that Alexander could somewhat understand, as he was pretty much forcing himself to get used to being around things that made him uncomfortable (ie, any fire elemental student, or pet, in Lady Terrors case), on a daily basis. That didn't mean he wanted to see his boilfriend suffer, though. Nodding his head, he moved a little bit to the side, so that Yin could break apart the rats in his hands and lay out the pieces for his pets to consume. The sound of snapping bones and the smell of blood was enough to make the zomboils mouth water as well, and his hands closed into fists at his sides as he fought the urge to reach out and steal the food from Yin to consume.

And so, when the weremantis offered him the itty bitty brains from each rat skull, he smiled warmly not hesitating to hold his hand out towards the tiny offering and quickly popping them into his mouth to consume. He could definitely look past the impromptu room cleaning if it meant he got to have such a sweet and considerate boilfriend. "Thanks!" He said, happily, as he swallowed the contents of his mouth.

Alexander was then suddenly moving, shuffling over to the bed and reaching out to grab the blanket from on top. He of course caught the signs that Yin had recently straghtened the coverings, but shrugging, he pulled it off anyways, and walked back over to Yin, wrapping it around him from behind before he could protest and slipping one arm around the other boils shoulders as he moved to his side and led him over towards the actual clean and comfy chair in the corner. "Here, sit down for a minute and I'll get the food out for us." He said, quite cheerfully now that he'd gotten over the room cleaning thing.

As he wandered away from Yin back to the food, he answered the other boils question. "Oh it was...uneventful, really. Though I couldn't really buy as much as I would have liked." Yep, completely broke. Oh what a feeling.

"My mom is...being difficult and refusing to send me anymore funding. She thinks I spend too frivolously." He made a bit of a face at that, not agreeing with her in the slightest.

Though she did have a point about the vaisel thing.

At least Alexander had like the treat and had not scoffed at it. And before he knew it (which was odd for the weremantis when it came to the zomboil), Alexander was wrapping a blanket around him. The blanket, like the rest of the room, was cold, but the extra layer would probably warm up to some degree. The chair he was told to sit in seemed much to nice but it was not really a question and so he sat down, not really used to such comfortable chairs. And trying not to marvel in how relatively clean it was.

Oh an uneventful trip? That was good. But Alexander had a talent for making the weremantis feel rather awful at times. When he thought about Alexander he never really considered money to be an issue. The zomboil always had it, and seemed to treat it as not being anything to worry about. But now he was confessing that he did not have enough to even purchase the meal that he wanted. And he had been spending money on Yin.

Yin really did not like being showered with gifts, or accepting too many of them. He had tried to bring rats as a contribution, but obviously that had not been enough. "I do not require food," he pointed out quickly. Yes, it smelled delicious. Yes, he wanted it. But he did not need it. "And I have collected a couple of seeds in my room. You can take them next time you visit so you have something." He was obviously worried about the idea of the zomboil not having funds to eat. Zomboils should not go hungry. "I can probably hunt things for you as well, it is not that much work, and there is plenty of prey in the forest." Feed him. Feed him well.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2012 11:20 pm

Alex never quite realised how often and how easily he was always putting his foot in his mouth, or saying things to make Yin feel bad. Even though he was out of money, and had confessed as much to Yin, he didn't really feel it was that big of a deal. Except, of course, that it meant that he couldn't buy food. But he didn't actually need food, he just...really liked food and often felt quite hungry. Not having food wasn't going to kill him though. He was already dead, after all. What it did mean, however, was he could no longer buy new clothes when his current ones became ruined. He couldn't buy new games, books, or electronics. And worst of all? He couldn't buy any new ties.

He was already moving towards the food when Yin spoke up, and his gaze shifted over towards the other boil. "No no no, don't worry about it, Yin. It's only temporary, I'm sure. Like I said, it's just..she's teaching me the value of money or something. It's really not a big deal. Besides, you probably worked hard for your seeds. I couldn't take them from you. And you don't have to hunt for me. I don't require food either..." He gave the weremantis a warm smile, grabbing for the bag of food with one hand and the chair by the computer desk with the other. He drug the chair across the floor so that it was sitting quite close and facing the weremantis, and then he plunked himself down in it, bag of food in lap and legs touching Yin's.

"I was actually thinking about calling her tonight. My mom, I mean. Would you like to say hello to her? She asks about you everytime we talk." He said, as he started pulling out containers of food, all but ignoring Yin's comment about not needing anything to eat.

Alexander not having food might kill Yin though. Or at least cost him chunks of flesh. It was a possibility that haunted the back of his mind. And his shoulder. Really though, he could see where Lady Van Rotte was coming from. How could one appreciate something if they did not work for it? Buying the brush for Princess Eva...that had been special. It had meant more when he had given it to here because of all the effort that had gone into making the money, selecting, and then purchasing it. "What is mine you are welcome to Alexander, if you need anything you should tell me. You have purchased things for me before, and I would gladly share what I have."

Yin made absolutely no move toward the food as the zomboil began pulling items from the bag. "Your mother? I would not wish to waste her time but if she would not mind I would speak to her? You are very lucky to have her as a parent." Not that he had any idea as to what to say to her, but if he was here the least he could do was offer his greetings and well wishes while Alexander was on the phone with her.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 16, 2012 12:33 am

"If what's yours is mine then what's mine is also yours and you shouldn't worry about things I bought for you in the past, and you should consider this food half yours." Alex replied happily, completely disregarding any point that Yin was trying to make, or ignoring it entirely.

Just confuse him with words Alex. It's like your glamour.

He started popping open containers to examine their contents, though he knew everything was about the same. It was all fried cockatrice..just to varying extents of cooked. He tore one peice apart, and noting that it was still bloody and raw inside, set that container back on his lap and handed Yin the other one.

"Besides, it's too well cooked for me and will just go to waste." He said, though he knew that he would have still eaten it, cooked or raw. If Yin didn't take it, Alex would just drop the warm container on the weremantis's lap for now.

"I don't think she considers it a waste of time. She thinks of you as one of the family, and wants to see how you are doing." He shrugged, as he picked up his container, moved the bag to the floor, and pulled out partially fried drumbstick which he promptly bit into, crunching it with his teeth, bones and all.

Too many mine and yous and yours. Yin might have just been staring at the zomboil when the food was shoved at him. Oh, this batch had something wrong with it? Then it would probably be fine if he ate it. He was reaching for it when Alexander just dropped it on his lap. He picked it up, noticed it was warm, and quickly closed both his hands around the container to try to warm them up a bit. He no longer cared what it was, it was warm.

Carefully he picked it up, noting the rather odd texture around it. Watching how Alexander had worked at it he tore it apart, putting a bite of the meat into his mouth. Interesting, and rather unlike anything else he had ever had. "What is this? And how is it cooked?" he questioned, happy to devour it but rather curious about it.

Lady Van Rotte did not think he was a waste of time? That was encouraging, and he could not help but be happy that she felt that way. And she...she thought of him as one of the family? Already? Yin had not known that. "Oh, so you told her?" he really was not surprised, he knew that Alexander was close to his family. And he certainly had the right to inform them. Just for some reason Yin had never considered it before. He took another bite, eating around the bones. For now.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 16, 2012 2:58 pm

It didn't take Alex long to consume the entire drumb stick, delicious marrow filled bones and all. He may have had some of the red, raw juices running down his chin, but, consciously actually attempting to be clean and polite, didn't even wipe it off on his shirt sleeve.

He actually reached down towards the bag on the floor, pulled out a paper napkin, and used it.

"It's fried cockatrice, from a fast food place called AFC. It's....incredibly greasy because of the way it's battered and cooked in oil, but still tasty." He shrugged, grabbing out another large piece to take a large bite out of.

He crunching on the small bones and meat that filled his mouth happily, and was just about to swallow, when Yin asked if Alex had told his mom.

He promptly started to choke, though since he didn't actually need to breathe, all that really meant was that he couldn't answer Yin until he got the blockage out of his throat. He coughed, he beat at his chest, he even reached long fingers into his mouth to try and pull or push the food out of the way. Eventually, it slid down, and he swallowed hard, the back of his neck feeling faintly warm. His eyes were perhaps a little wider then usual, and he gave Yin a sidelong glance, having trouble suddenly looking the weremantis in the eyes as he answered.

"Well...no. I haven't told her." He said, "But only because she would just...make it a huge thing and get on my case about it and ask a million questions and I just didn't want to have to deal with that.." It was a rather lame attempt at an excuse, but it was true. He wasn't ashamed of his relationship with Yin, not in the least. He and his mom had even discussed it once..

...but did she really need to know absolutely everything about what was going on with Alex all of the time? No, she didn't.

Oh, so that was how it was done. He kept eating, biting off hunks of meat, trying not to eat like a feral creature as the sensation of ripping meat off of the bone appealed to his more instinctual side. He noticed that Alexander actually wiped off his mouth and chin. He even did his best not to cringe as Alexander dropped it on the floor. Win some, lose some.

He was just reaching for a second piece of cockatrice when Alexander started choking. When the zomboil actually started to reach into his mouth Yin came out of his chair, no longer willing to watch his boilfriend choke, even if he was pretty certain that he did not need to breathe. But then it was apparently no longer blocking his throat and he watched with satisfaction and pleasure as the zomboil swallowed. Okay, so things were back to normal. He took his seat again, reaching for that second piece of cockatrice.

"Well, that is completely up to you really. I can certainly wanting to keep certain things private or wishing to add additional stress to your life." Because really, would the weremantis blame him when he had only really told Miss Danny? And was ridiculously private about just about everything when it came to their relationship?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 16, 2012 3:46 pm

Alex was glad that Yin understood. He just wasn't quite sure what the other boil was going to think sometimes, and Alex may have sagged in relief. Though that feeling of not knowing what Yin was thinking, or what he was going to say or do in different situations, brought Alex back to the problem that they had had earlier in human studies class.

Alex slowly took another bite out of his food, chewing it thoughtfully and swallowing before speaking again. "Yes, it's just...not something absolutely everyone needs to know about." He nodded, happy with that answer for now. He would be proud to call Yin his boilfriend, but so far he hadn't had to tell anybody, since nobody had asked. Well, other than Danny, that was. And how she had come to ask the question to begin with Alex could only assume had something to do with Yin.

"Now uh..about earlier in the human studies class. I...I didn't mean to seem like I was avoiding you or anything. You just seemed to be busy having a conversation with Mitzi and I didn't want to be rude and interrupt." He decided not to mention the fact that Yin hadn't mentioned he would be taking the class, because then Yin would just feel the need to blame himself needlessly for something very small and mostly insignificant. The fear that Yin would get sick of him and not want him around anymore would always be there, however, since Alex still could not quite believe that Yin had chosen to give this whole thing a try.

"Precisely, and there is no rush to tell everyone." IT was really a need to know basis, and he had just told the fire demon so that she could know how things had worked out. Princess Eva had been there, so there had not been a need to inform her of when they had finally come to an agreement. He continued to happily devour the cockatrice, not precisely enjoying the greasy feeling on his lips but enjoying the juicy meat that the breading contained.

"Oh I...I did not know what you were thinking, but it is fine. There is no need for you to apologize. But you should know that if it is you I do not mind the interruption," he dismissed the very idea of it being rude rather easily. Then he thought a bit more about the class. "I had not realized that you would be interested in human studies, though I suppose it makes sense." He glanced over at the bookshelf, "It does seem that you are interested in most topics. Is there anything that you will not read about?"
