ONE

Since the dawn of time,
Since men had feet,
The greatest man I have managed to beat.

For my domain,
My holy call,
Is the eternal quest of the know it all.

In Africa they discovered me first,
From there on in I made men curse.
They tried so hard to make sense of my gift,
Falling at my feet,
Their minds adrift.

The world is round,
One and one makes two.
But with the gift of numbers came man's destruction too.

The curious race,
Not satisfied with simplicity.
With science came the end of felicity.

Cities rose,
Technology advanced.
They thought their quality of life enhanced.

My gift was abused and used to kill.
To choke the Earth in their techno thrill.
Soon there will be nothing as they live without qualms.
The world will end in a shower of nepalms.

Two

one, magpie a dangerous curse.
two, satan's power of verse.

three, creation dawns.
four, elemental pawns.

five, Pythagorian universal balance.
six, the birth of man's essence.

seven Christian levels of hell.
eight a serpantine, unhappy knell.

nine, Hecate's calling card.
ten commandments for moses to guard.

eleven, a master number.
twelve, days of Christmas plunder.

number thirteen, unlucky for some,
chant it at night and the devil will come.

And so, with these numbers I weave this rhyme
And reading it, methinks I should become a mime.
