Rolling along at the slowest pace imaginable on his skateboard, Arms overloaded with paper bags full to the brim with food that he and Mort had picked up from the food court at the maul, Alex was already feeling infinitely better then he had been following the disastrous sex ed class. His cycorgi pet was trotting along beside him happily, tongue lolling from his mouth as one large eye blinked around. Occasionally Alex would somehow manage to slip his hand into the the top of a bag to pull out a morsel of food to pop into his mouth and chew as they made their way back to the Undead Dorms, and sometimes he fed that morsel to his pet by tossing it on the ground for him.

Alex was totally prepared for a nice chill night of gaming and whatever else Mort had planned, since the other zomboil seemed to have a lot planned. But it was exactly what Alexander needed, a distraction, a break, a time to chill and de-stress so that he could better deal with his personal problems in the morning.

He leaned back on his skateboard, coming to a stop in front of the dorm doors, and stumbled off without losing any of the food in his arms, his Cycorgi yipping excitedly around his heels as he carefully lifted his skateboard with one foot, just high enough so he could reach it with his finger tips and grab ahold of it, juggling it with the paper bags. "Mind getting the door?" he asked, giving the other zombie a large grin as he struggled not to drop everything there on the spot.

"And you'll have to lead the way to your room, never been before."

It had been a wonder Alex and Mort had managed to get what they were doing done in the time that they did - Mort was prone to look longingly into different stores as they walked, particularly Game Grave ("Been week n' half since sent application, thought sh-should check in . . .") and Bloodbucks (not to particularly grab anything, but to see if Gene was there and say hi to; she wasn't). And when they hit the minipet store, well, the zomboil had all but stared at the pets hungrily before being dragged off to get the cycorgies some food; Mort also went ahead and grabbed some pellets for his kushi-kushi and some slop for the pig imps (well, he called it slop; he had no idea what was inside, but it smelled weird at any rate).

And then the food they got was piled on top. Mort specifically had a bag from Pumpkin King with one of their larger burgers, fries, and an order of fried cockatrice claws, as well as a Mad Dr. Pepper within, in one arm; the other carried a large bag of sour cream and onion chips, one of Mort's favorites. They must have been a sight, two walking mountains of bags, one on wheels, followed by a cycorgi puppy at their heels; Mort was amazed Alex managed to keep balance like that. "S'not far," he told Alex as they entered the dorms, a gush of cool air greeting them. Mort led him to a door further down the hall on the first floor, where a yellow caution sign warned that within was a "NERD AT WORK". "But, er . . . Should warn. 'Member minipet battle class? Said liked mine? Well . . ."

As they approached, there was a soft scuffling within Mort's room. Growling was heard right on the other side of the door. Mort turned his head to the other zomboil, looking a bit guilty with his smile. "He's . . . not good w-with new people." He had hoped Brian would have been in the closet by the time they came back, but alas the dragie had a good nose for when food was coming. Or for when "intruders" drew near.

The smell of dog was also not good.

Alex's bags consisted mostly of AFC and Taco skull, though really the taco skull taco's were all meat and he was not planning on eating the shells. He just really wanted to try their brain meat taco to see what the brains would be like with the seasoning on them.

He hadn't minded being dragged all over the maul, because he had shops that he had wanted to go into as well, like the book store, or the place that he mostly frequented for all of his tie buying needs. He hadn't spent any money though, because he was being good. He was only allowed a certain amount of money per day for essential needs (like all of the fast food, aw ya!) and not allowed to spend his money frivolously on things like...well, ties. Much to his disgruntlement at times.

But back to the school now, and through the open door. He gave Mort a nod in thanks, nearly spilling a bag of food but somehow managing to manuver his body in such a way that he rescued it. He then followed Mort down the hallway and to his room, which was indeed not far to go. "Nice! My room is downstairs, where it's much colder. I prefer it." Though he didn't much enjoy how far it was to get there. He wasn't quite sure what to make of what Mort was saying about minipet battle class. Liked his what?

And then they got to the door, and Alex heard the growling.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh....

"S--soooo....what can I do to make him like me?" Alex asked, trying not to sound too nervous. His Cycorgi was pushed up on his legs from behind, ears and tail suddenly wilting and a small whine escaping his throat.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:54 am

Ties! That was what Mort forgot to ask about while they were at the maul. Ah well, maybe on a different day.

"Mrrr . . . When Taryn was here, fed braincon. Brian likes, left alone. Should w-work 'gain this time . . ." Should. Mort was always careful with Brian, though, and with their hands full like this . . . Well he guessed he'd have to clear the doorway. Mort leaned his ear into the wooden frame, listening for the dragie's nosy sniffing. Shifting the bags into the crook of one arm, he pressed a hand to the door and delivered a quick shock - on the other side Brian yelped and retreated.

"A-Also helps show who boss is," he added meekly, reapportioning the weight into both arms before he toppled over. "Think should find P-Professor Malcolm, ask about unruly mini pets . . ." He then grasped at the doorknob and turned, letting them both in.

Alex might have caught the tail end of a, well, tail as it swung around the corner and into the closet. The room was as usual a bit of a mess, some clothes this way or that, an empty pizza box open by the tv (where a young, pink kushi-kushi was currently nibbling at scraps), but most predominant in Mortimer's room were the posters of bands and comics plastering the wall, and a lone scroll of a poster which had the sketchings of a hand up to halfway up the elbow. There was also a second piece stapled to it with envisioned sets of goggles yet to be made.

The zomboil traversed the several step stair leading in, warning Alex of it as he set his load down on the round table in front of the couch. On the bed, Lanna and Mort's cycorgi had been resting - their heads perked in unison at the visitors, the corgi most interested in one of looking just like him! A trio of pig imps, each a different sub-species, poked their heads over the established wooden barrier in the corner to view the newcomers with black eyes. The fire pig imp in particular snorted.

"Er, home sweet home? Make self at home. Can eat, talk while eat, n' then try minipet battle?" he suggested as he began to take out the contents from the Pumpkin King bag out onto the table.

Ah, food! It solved so many of life's little problems. If all it took was a little bit of braincon to soothe the dragie minipet, Alex was pretty sure he could manage.

He watched as Mort leaned against the door curiously, his hair falling into his eyes as he leaned forward, and with no free hands to brush the strands back out of his face he was forced to endure the temporary annoyance. He didn't quite see what Mort had done, but he heard the audible yelp from the other side of the door and could only assume it had something to do with his electric abilities.

"Indeed." He replied, with a face splitting grin. The cycorgi behind him perked up a little, ears pricking forward as the doorknob was turned and Alex began to make his way into the room. He navigated the step stair with a few clumsy movements that, again, nearly caused him to spill the bags of food in his arms all over the place, but he somehow continued to hold on. He did, however, drop the skateboard that was barely held by his fingertips, pushing it towards the wall with a foot to get it out of the way. He then shuffled towards the table in front of the couch to set down the bags, before finally having a good look around the room, and pushing the hair out of his eyes.

It was a little messy, but that never bothered Alexander. In fact, comparatively to Alex's room, this room might have been considered pristine. Well, that was, before Yin had gotten in there and started organizing things and cleaning up the floor, of course.

But he wasn't going to be thinking about him tonight. This was about not thinking about him, and about having a nice good old fashioned chill out and veg night with another zombie.

He took in the posters on the walls; the one with the sketch of a hand particularly interesting; and noted the several different mini pets scattered about. "It's...nice." He said happily. "Really suits you, actually. My room is a lot less...well, it's just very simple." A bed, a chair, a desk...ya, Alex's room wasn't the most exciting aspect of the undead dorms, that was for sure.

He cycorgi, having noticed one of it's own kind, possibly a sibling?, began trotting towards the bed, tail wagging to the point where it was like to fall off. Alex, while watching this with a bemused look on his face, reached into one of the bags to pull out a fairly large container of fried cockatrice, then shuffled over to the couch to sit down.

"So, that poster on the wall, with the hand...you draw that?" He asked, popping the lid off of the AFC bucket and digging a hand in to fish out a piece.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2012 1:37 am

"Yup." He pulled out the chair from his desk, pushed it to the table, and all but flopped down into it, leaving Alex the couch if he so desired; right now Mort was sure if he fell into the cushiony thing he'd have issues getting out - or maybe an old spring would poke him. "Is project. FEAR still hard control, thought regulate with conductor might help. Also better medium n'stead've flesh: l-leaves burns n' stuff on hands when try." He waved a cockatrice claw towards the addendum page stapled to it before taking a bite. "Battle Goggles just side thought. Took idea from friend suggestion; c-can't always rely n' glasses, break easy. If have persc - persisc - "

He frowned at himself, making a face like he'd been pinched, before chewing down the rest of the claw and trying again. "I-If have same sight n' battle, maybe help accuracy. Also, er, also think look cool." And Mort really, really wanted to look cool in front of people.

The cycorgi in the meanwhile leaned over the side of the bed and yipped several times, blinking his one eye owlishly. And then he proceeded to mimic the other one, tail wiggling enough to bother Lanna. The fancy foxfire huffed and hopped off to join the zomboils at the table, readying her best puppy-eyed impression to get some table scraps.

Mort grinned down at her and gave Lanna a few scratches behind the ear. "Have many ideas, n-not 'nuff time to try all, y'know? Or are impractical. Or 'spensive. Allowance not 'nuff compensate for materials, but try hardest. Also get help from interested friends." With a new cockatrice claw, sandwiched by two fries, Mort pointed out the broken coffee machine on the counter near them. "From Gene. 'Parrantly break somehow n' Bloodbucks, gifted. Very nice ghoul, but acts funny sometimes."

Alex nodded as Mort rambled on and on. It was rare that Alex met somebody who could out talk him, but Mort certainly seemed to be giving it a try. He threw in the odd "Nice!" and "Cool!" as the zomboil spoke about the hand he was designing, though the topic of goggles made his mind wander back towards a certain weremantis once more.

There was just no escaping him, and Alex couldn't fight it anymore.

"Yin wheres goggles sometimes. They are pretty jacking cool, actually, though I'm not sure what he wears them for exactly..." He might have to ask the weremantis that the next time he saw him. He thought about this while he crunched into the piece of fried cockatrice he was holding, crunching it up in his mouth, bones and all, before swallowing.

The cycorgi was getting super excited now. It was jumping up on it's hind legs, pawing at the bed, making small yipping noises as it's tongue lolled out of it's mouth happily. It wanted to play. Playplayplayplayplayplayplayplayplay! Alex glanced over to it with a frown, "Shuuuuushhh." He hissed at it, not at all enjoying the high pitched yelps, before turning his attention back to the other zomboil.

"Ah well, money is always an issue isn't it? Unfortunately, my mom has seen fit recently to not allow me money to spend on things that aren't absolutely necessary." He decided to leave out the part where Yin was actually in charge of Alexander's fundage, now. "Otherwise I might be able to help you out a bit." He popped the rest of the fried delciousness into his mouth, crunching it down happily before reaching in for another piece.

"Acts funny how?" He asked, curious about this Gene ghoul that Mort was speaking of, taking a glance towards the coffee machine.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 17, 2012 2:53 pm

Ah, so he did, Mort remembered. "Should ask him 'bout, might get insight . . ." He then ripped out a part of the Pumpkin King bag, pulled out a pen from one of the table drawers, and scribbled it down as a note that he then set off to the side. "Does Yin have phone number could get at? Know c-could text you if want get both, but is nice having contact info. No worries 'bout helping if can't, though, i-is not obligated fund."

Lanna, comforted by the scratching, decided to investigate the new zomboil's presence. She trotted up to his legs and stood on her hind legs, pawing at Alex's pants leg for some attention. Would he perhaps feed her?

Mort's cycorgi continued to inch closer and closer off the edge until eventually, with another loud yelp, he fell atop Alex's. The thing wriggled and writhed until he was back on its feet, single eye blinking deliriously as he found his bearings again. And then it was back to tail wiggling as he tried to sniff the other's butt.

Mort took his time chewing the rest of the cockatrice claws as he watched their antics, mulling over exactly how to describe it. "Mrrr . . . Not sure. Is just feeling get. Invited once to Bloodbucks for trying drinks n' asked 'bout self. N' then offered machine when hear projects needing things. Said dinner is good payment." Was that normal ghoul interaction? Maybe it was, Mort didn't know. "N' then at Cricket class just now, w-was nervous seeing me. Just wanted say good luck with hand shake, but got hug n'stead. Not sure why." He shrugged before devouring some more fries.

Alex scoffed a laugh, having to cover his mouth lest bits of fried food come flying out everywhere. "No, Yin doesn't have a phone, or a computer, or any technology at all. He thinks electronic things are magic." He grinned, eyes sparkling at the thought, because rather then being appalled by the weremantis's ignorance, he actually found it to be a quite endearing quality. But then he remembered Sex Ed class, and his smile faltered. He tried to cover up his momentary discomfort by shoving yet more food in his mouth, listening intently to what Mort had to say about this Gene ghoul next.

"Hrm..well, I don't know much about ghouls..." As was made quite apparent to him by his fail date with Michi, though he did tend to think he'd done a fairly decent job up until the end. "But it sounds to me like she might like you a little bit? Perhaps as more then just a friend?" Alex smiled, "Though, she may just be like that naturally. Ghouls are strange creatures, after all." And what did Alex know about the signs that pointed towards somebody liking you? After all, he had been completely oblivious that his childhood friend Olivia had any feelings such as those towards him. Maybe this is why he was better off being with a boil. Ghouls were too complicated (pft, like Yin wasn't? Ha!)

"Ah, nevermind, don't listen to me. I'm clueless when it comes to that kind of stuff, really."

The foxfire wasn't going to find any handouts from this zombie, who generally had trouble sharing when it came to a good meal. He reached down and gave her a scratch behind the ears, however, and a small piece of cockatrice that was on Alex's shirt may have fallen to the floor beside her.

The cycorgi was ecstatic to have the other cycorgi fall off of the bed on top of it. It licked at the other cycorgi's face excitedly, tail thumping against the floor. When it was able to squirm out from under the other corgi it began bouncing around in spastic-happy circles. Good luck sniffing that butt.

No technology? Another student had no tech? 8||| What is wrong with people. Sure it had been almost adorably innocent with Taryn, but after meeting Eve, he thought it was just a coincidence. A minor happenstance. Not an actually possibility. Poor, poor Yin. "Kinda is like magic, if think about it," Mort agreed with a little grin.

That grin quickly dropped at Alex's suggestion that Gene . . . liked him. How could - why - He shook his head a bit, frowning. "Has be ghoul thing, y-yes," he insisted, despite never having seen her hug someone else; but then again, he didn't see her often. "A-And will be friendly dinner after trials. Yes. Should b-be okay. Nice ghoul. Will be fine." He then quickly finished off his fries to prevent him from saying anything more on that subject, lest he entertain more nervous-making thoughts.

Lanna stuck around for the length of time Alex scratched her, as she preferred affection more than food. When he finished, however, she quickly sniffed out the crumbles from his shirt and cleaned the floor up, looking pleased with herself.

"Er, ready when you ready for minipet fight," Mort said after a few bites of his burger, watching as his cycorgi began to shake himself repeatedly to get the face-licking to stop . . . and then proceeded to chase Alex's around in those spastic circles.

"Ya, that's how I like to look at it too." Alex agreed, in regards to the magic comment. It was much easier then trying to explain things in full detail to the weremantis, anyways.

Alex eyed the look on Mort's face nervously after he told the other boil that Gene might like him. That was not exactly happy look, and the other zomboil suddenly appeared to be quite nervous. "It's probably just her being friendly then, yes." Though blushing and acting nervous around Mort in Sex Ed class definitely suggested otherwise, in his own opinion. But again, what did Alex know about ghouls?

He ate the rest of his fried cockatrice in silence for some time, before leaning forward and grabbing the taco skull bag from the table and pulling out a hard taco wrapped in paper. He unwrapped it, then gazed longingly at the seasoned brains within, before tilting his head back and upending the contents into his open mouth. He chewed on it thoughtfully for a time, the flavors not exactly the most delicious thing he'd ever experienced but all in all not bad either. Good enough that he scraped out the rest of the contents with his fingers and shoved it greedily into his mouth as well, before leaning forward and dropping the taco shell back into the paper bag. Wiping his hands on his pants, he nodded.

"Sure, ready anytime really." He glanced over to his cycorgi, and let out a sharp whistle. The minipet stopped what he was doing in his tracks, ears perking up high, eye swiveling towards it's owner. It then came bounding over, tail wagging, tongue lolling, looking as happy as it always did.

"Kay." Mort finished the last of his burger, latching onto the new topic as quickly as he would a new video game. Wiping the crumbs off his mouth with the back of his hand, he stood up and moved behind the couch Alex was sitting on, shifting it forward some until the zomboil was almost locked in beneath the table - and then the table was moved to give him some escape room. A moderate square near the middle of the room would be their "battlefield".

Mort watched Alex's cycorgi leap back towards its master at a single whistle with some surprise. "Already taught well, seeing," he commented with a little smile, going over and plucking his off the ground to place on one side of the area. "Haven't tried, n-not so good with training." As was evidenced by his kushi-kushi out of her cage and atop the tv, watching them curiously. Oh, and Brian. Couldn't forget dear Brian.

"Ah . . . hope aren't gonna make very big mess." That was a belated thought if any.

Alex had really not expected the couch to be moved while he was still sitting on it. His long legs were suddenly jammed under and against the table in front of him, though he shifted it a bit before Mort came around to move it the rest of the way out. He gave the other zomboil a raised eyebrow for that one, but decided to just shrug it off an ignore it.

For now....

"Ya, I guess. He's not really the smartest but he seems to understand how to heel and he comes when he's called." Alex shrugged, since that was pretty much the extent of his training, so this battle thing could become quite interesting.

Unfolding himself from the couch, he shambled over to now cleared area in the middle of the room, the cycorgi prancing around his feet with little tail wagging furiously behind him.

"Uh..I'm sure it'll be fine.." He thought so, at least. After all, how much damage could two cycorgi's do?

Right. Okay. Battling. To do it oneself was one thing, but to command another, especially a pet he had not trained . . . Ho boil. Maybe Mort should have thought this through. Though when did he ever?

Well, at least things never were boring when he did so. It was what he reconciled himself with for now. Placing his cycorgi down, Mort stepped back a bit. "Er . . . Go get?" he told the creature, who didn't actually need an order to lunge at Alex's minipet.

Though frankly it was meant to be more playful than painful.

Ya, Alex really had no idea how this was going to play out, and hadn't really thought about it too much either. When he had battled his black rabbit, the little dust bunny had been only too eager to go on the attack, and Alex had basically just been able to sit back and enjoy the show, so to speak. This cycorgi though..he wasn't exactly what one might call intimidating.

Never the less, when Mort's pup went lunging in, Alex's met him full charge, tongue lolling, stubby legs carrying him swiftly towards his 'opponent' as he barreled in to him full throttle.

"I dunno, they at least look like they're having fun?" Alex commented.
