If you hit 0 HP, your student dissipates with however many flags they recovered! YOU MUST CALCULATE YOUR STUDENT'S HP EVERY TURN, if there is a course that uses HP, the DAMAGE STACKS WITH THIS ONE.

Danny was already late to the ceremony. She had to get special treatment (along with a few other students that shared her dilemma) from the horsemen before being approved for the trials. They had cast some strange spell over her tail, so she wouldn't pass out beforehand. That would be a disaster. At least she only had to do her tail- she saw one kid getting a fullbody hex. She would've hated to see how long that took.
Now she was out here in the rain, with a very thin jacket, covered head to toe in the slimy stuff. Sure it was better than the alternative- passing out that is- but it didn't make the feeling of wading through pudding any better.
She had a very distinct frown on her face. First the water at the beach, now water coming from the sky. This wasn't cool. Without even looking for her teammates, she shouted, "I'm gonna take the first path! I wanna go home!" It was urgent.
If only she'd notice the distinct chill coming from the pathway.

Ice Road Runner
As Danny wandered down the road, she began to regret her decisions instantly. She heard the cracking noise on the ground that was familiar to her only because she'd heard Edel break ice a thousand times over whilst mocking her.
"Oh no. Oh no, no no," she said to herself.
"Did you know reindeer live in the arctic?" a small voice chimed in from her bag, which they'd given her back at the beginning. She'd assumed it had something to do with her tail.
"No and I don't care. I want to go back home," she mumbled. Danny was already annoyed, and having someone to talk to wasn't helping as much as it might of helped others. She was freezing cold and in far too unsuitable clothing. Not to mention she was melting everything around her, making it extremely hard to walk without cracking some ice. What she wouldn't give to be curled up in her bed with Rikki and her new kitten. Jackdammit.
Her thoughts consumed her to the point that she missed a stalagmite (stalactite?) falling and gashing her leg. Well great, now it was even harder to walk. It was like one forth of her was missing.
Then the wind hit, and she stumbled onto the ground, into a sharp piece of ice.
"Did you know that smaller snowflakes generally lead to ice that sticks?" Danny unhooked the backpack and threw it at a wall, only to find it disappearing and reappearing on her back. "Did you know this backpack will magically reappear every time you lose it? Nifty huh?"
Danny let out a deep, long groan. Maybe if she was lucky another stalagmite would just pierce through her heart.

Ice Road Runner
Danny continued to trudge along the path, limping and taking a break every five seconds it seemed like. This was truly the epitome of boogieland. She flopped down on a chuck of ice, hissing as the hard substance beneath her melted, even as she was sitting on it. Not only was she wet, now she was cold, and the damn wind kept threatening to kill her on some ice.
Speaking of wind, a giant gust came whipping through, causing Danny to have to grip onto a nearby stalagmite. Even as the wind howled, her lepus companion shouted, "DID YOU KNOW THAT TORNADO WINDS ARE THE FASTEST WINDS IN HALLOWEEN?"
As the wind haulted, Danny gave a sigh of relief, because the stalagmite had already melted halfway down, and was quickly slipping out of her grasp. She had to move on and find another support if she was going to survive the winds. Who knew, maybe if she walked far enough, she could find the end to this tunnel. Maybe it let out in a volcano.
Mmmmm volcanos. Her mind had already drifted back to warmth.

Ice Road Runner
Her mind now drifted to Roch. Was he okay? Surely he couldn't have been stupid enough to take the same path as her? He was probably sniveling in his little vest- not that she was doing any better. That gave her a little laugh.
She wondered too, what lay down the other paths. Was Bea in a land with no water- like a desert? Had Gene ended up in an elemental place? She hoped her teammates were okay.
She didn't even notice the wall of ice protecting her from the wind- her senses were a lot duller here in foreign territory. All she could bear to feel was the thousands of tiny pins on her arms, legs, head. The throb of her leg was beginning to dull, but replenished the pain every time she took a step.
Danny was getting nowhere.

Ice Road Runner
The wind picked up and she was slammed into another shard of ice. The whimpering came out now, since she was sure no one but the lepus could hear it. She felt the expanses of silence, the complete loneliness.
"Hey stupid lepus," she said quietly, "Tell me some of those dumb facts."
Sure enough, the lepus popped out of the bag, right on cue and said, "Did you know that you can melt snow with salt?" The tiny voice squeaked at the end as a tiny gust of wind picked up. Danny didn't even care by now.
"Really? Just salt?"
"Did you know that volcanoes can even be found in the ocean?"
"Under all that water?" The lepus nodded. Danny cracked a small smile, but immediately hid it under her jacket collar. Was the lepus ... trying to cheer her up?

Ice Road Runner
A tiny red dot appeared in Danny's vision. At first she thought she must've been imagining it. Maybe her mind was creating a lava pool it was going so crazy from the cold. Maybe it was just a torn piece of fabric.
As she neared closer she realized no, not at all. That wasn't a lava pool. That was a flag. Wasn't she supposed to be looking for those?
Despite her minor injury, she hobbled over to the red stretch of cloth, and pried the material out of the ground. Yessss. She at least had something she could show her teammates. One flag. Was that pathetic compared to the others? She wondered if maybe they already had dozens of flags by now. That fact upset her a little, but she ignored it. She would celebrate her tiny victory.
She held out the flag to the lepus in her backpack. "Look what I got little buddy!" she said, a smile cracking across her face. No sooner had she spoken, the little lepus was crawling out of the bag, grabbing at the flag. "No, this one's mind!" Danny argued. The lepus kept grabbing.
Most likely because she was purely tired, or maybe because she actually liked the little dude, she handed the flag to him, and he tucked it away in his little backpack. Danny didn't quite understand the gesture, but if the lepus was happy, so was she.

Ice Road Runner
Feeling rather energized by the first flag, Danny actually limped along at a more generous speed. Her leg was still pounding, and the pins-and-needles effect was being amplified, but she was clinging to her hope of finding a flag.
She was rewarded for it too. Up ahead there was a little red piece of cloth, identical to the first one she found. Yes!
Only her leg couldn't quite take her at the moment. She sat down on a patch of ice, and spoke softly to herself, as though giving instructions. "I'll rest here for a minute, and then I'll go get the flag. That's what I'll do."
The lepus had his own ideas though. Seeing her resting, he leapt out of the bag and started running straight for the flag. Danny immediately staggered forward, but the lepus was too fast. It had the flag in its mouth and was on its way back around. A gust of wind kicked up, and the lepus went flying. It was a stroke of luck that Danny had good reflexes, and her arm reached out to catch the lepus, just like a maceball. Years of maceball training had done her some good then!
"You are a very lucky lepus," she said, tucking him back into the bag. Well two flags wasn't bad! ... Right?

Ice Road Runner
All her luck ran out in a split second though. The moment the backpack was all zipped up, a great gust of wind- bigger than the other two- whipped right into action. She had no support this time, nothing to grab onto but ice, and ice, and ice.
She went flying, slamming right into a set of ice spikes that seemed to be made for her. She impaled right through them, and dissipated instantly.
Also, in an AU ending, she got buried under the ice in a lake. HAPPY DEMI? ARE YOU HAPPY?

Danny's eyes fluttered open and were greeted by the familiar sight of the infirmary. She attempted to sit up, only to find she still had quite a few marks from this trial. The ice apparently wasn't giving up.
Her little lepus backpack was still next to her though, with the two flags in it. The lepus, however, was nowhere in sight. Where did he scamper off too.
She looked at her final catch with a bit of pride. Two flags! Worry crossed her mind for a moment; the others could already have hundreds of flags for all she knew. Oh well. She was going to treasure these flags, dammit.

Even though it hadn't been that long since Bea had seen her team mates, it felt like she was sleeping forever. The first trials worn her out already... Squinting her eyes into the rain, she felt a shiver go up her spine. It was cold and windy. She hugged onto her rain coat as she made her way to an obstacle course.
"Good luck, Danny!" Bea shouted to her upset fiery friend. Hopefully the rain won't harm her... She looked back at Gene as she decided on a course to take. "I'm gonna go to the rocky looking one, I guess." Bea made an unsatisfied face, "if anything goes wrong--- jack forbid--- do what you can, and be strong! We'll meet back here when we're done, okay?"

WIND! WIND EVERYWHERE! BLOWING IN FROM WHATEVER DIRECTION. Bea held on when she reached the bottom of the cliff but lucky for her she wasn't blown away.

Rock Climbing
As Bea made her way up the cliff, her foot kept slipping left and right. The rain caused all the rocks to be slippery. "Damn these wet boulders!" Bea cursed them as she tried grabbing onto another rock.
"Did you know that rocks get wet when rained on?" A little green face poked out of Bea's backpack.
Bea looked back at it with a dumbfound look. "... I couldn't have figured that one out for myself..." she said in a sarcastic tone as she reached a checkpoint.
Lucky for Bea she made it. The sight of the flag left a hopeful feeling in her heart.

Rock Climing
It was hard to concentrate with the rain pouring down on her. Suddenly, the cliff shook violently. As soon as she looked up she saw rocks falling down on her.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" she screamed as it echoed through the area. Instinctively, Bea managed to levitate away to avoid getting hit by the rocks before hugging onto the cliff for dear safety. Her hand gripped onto her chest and closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, she looked down almost doubting her success.
"Did you know that you had a 63% chance of surviving that quake?" the lepus pointed down the cliff.
That really didn't make Bea feel any more confident... Even though her chances were higher, it was just her luck to almost get pelted by rocks...

Rock Climbing
Apparently the quake shook the cliff once again. Rocks came falling down like the first time. But unlike the first time, Bea immediately took off her backpack and held it over her head to shield herself from the rocks.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!" the lepus guide hid back into Bea's bag as the rocks came down on it. "D-Did you know that... G-Getting pelted by rocks are painful?", it whined as it quivered in the bag.
"Sorry, little guy!" Bea opened an eye to see if it was clear. She was close enough to another flag, and snatched it for herself. "At least you helped me get this flag!" she cheered at the lepus. Bea gently gave it a pat before she stuffing the second flag into the backpack.
