Good luck all participants!OOC - The Trials of Death functions a little differently from all the other trials: it is a Choose Your Own Adventure game that will require reasonably heavy activity from the players. That means that players should do their best to check in at least once every 12 - 24 hours for new prompts. The trials will be very storyline based, a single change in choice or action may dictate an entirely new fate! Keep an eye out soon for the last and final deciding trial, as well as the storyline tied to it! (Most likely open a few hours after trials of War winners are announced and a points tally is updated) - For anyone who has not completed the last trial, they will still have until 2:00pm PST to do so. Make sure that your FIRST POST IS ALL UPDATED!

Jacking hell it was raining hard! Water didn't really bother Jericho but this sort of weather was pretty horrendous. The wind was whipping the water about into his face, making it hard to see much of anything. He would have tried to shield himself with his wings, but with the blustery gales, he had to keep them shut lest it ended up blowing him round.
"We do not like thisssss," he growled while looking at the course selection.
But, at the very least, it wasn't fog. That would have made him paranoid as all hell.
"But... letsss show the othersss just how this is done," he added.
Through the wind and rain, he stared around. Oh hey. Rock climbing. That was something he felt he should be able to do alright. He could fly after all.
"We will take the rock climbing course," he stated.

((Rolled same as Jericho, so I get to pick! Malodore will be doing Ice Road Runner today.))
Malodore was somewhat nonplussed by the weather, but at least this time the water didn't come with salt to sting its flesh and sand to get into the most uncomfortable places. Compared to the beach, the wind and rain were a simple matter. At least as long as it could keep one hand firmly planted on its hat to prevent any... accidents.
Given its current hat predicament, the plague doctor elected to go to a somewhat enclosed area - and, of the courses on offer, the one that seemed best suited to it was the one in the ice caverns. It cared little about temperature, after all. "I will do the, ah, 'Ice Road Runner'," it said, giving the path to the ice caves a vaguely skeptical look. "Buona fortuna, amici..."
It was, however, intensely bemused by the presence of the Lepus Guide on its back. Why was this needed?

A large and powerful gust of wind hit Jericho as he came close to his course. It nearly blasted him away. But, the managed to hold his ground, tucking himself in to brace himself against it. Once it had died down, he let out a breath, then continued on.

Rock Climing
Getting himself ready once he was at the base of the cliff, Jericho looked up before taking in a deep breath. This wasn't going to be easy given the current weather, but he was determined to do this. And so he began to climb, as he did so, he managed to slip on one of the rocks.
Cursing loudly as he fell, he quickly spread his wings to save himself from plummeting to the ground.
"Damn wind..." he snarled, clinging to the wall to regather himself

Rock Climing
Taking a moment so to recover from that close call, the dragon soon began to climb once more. This time, he was being more careful with where he was grabbing. He did not want to lose his grip on the slippery rocks again. Not at all.

Rock Climing
The cliff suddenly trembled. Looking up, the dragon saw rocks starting to tumble on down towards him.
"Tiamat's s**t!" he cried out while hugging the wall, bringing his wings up to help shield him from the falling debris. It seemed to work out alright, because he managed to stay on the cliff face. Shaking his head when the rockslide had passed, he reached to grab himself a second flag.
"Did you know... that a rock slide just happened?"
"What the?"
Oh. The lepus guide with him just decided to speak up for once. Letting out a huff, he just stared at it, then continued on.

Riley should have looked quite at home in force gale rain. She had no hair to slick with wetness, and her tentacles looked sleek and glorious. Unfortunately, Riley did not enjoy wearing so much clothing while wet, and she was curled up as tightly as she could be, her arms wrapped around her body to keep the chill out. She wanted to follow Jericho, and leech off his warmth, but they had to split up now. They had to split up. Riley shuddered at the thought.
Her choice was easiest.
I will choose the underground. She muttered quickly, heading for the cave as fast as she could. Not only would it protect her from the weather, she was the only one who could see in the dark - she'd lived underground her entire life. It would feel like home, down there.
As she reached the mouth, she stopped, and watched her friends head off in their directions. She refused to continue further inward until that splatter of red in the distance was finally out of view.

Rock Climing
As he continued to climb, Jericho soon noticed a number of draconic birds flying about. There were quite a few of them. He would have paid them no attention... if it weren't for the fact that they started to attack him relentlessly.
"Jacking hell, lay off of us!" he snarled while trying to bat them away.
"Did you know that this is a nesting ground?"
How very useful.
In the chaos, the dragon ended up letting go of the wall trying to fend himself from the birds. As a result, he ended up falling. When he woke up, he found himself in the infirmary.

Riley headed into the mouth of the cave, and the darkness threatened to yawn around her. She, however, saw no such darkness - the cave was just as clear as it would be in the day, through her eyes. Everything was the color blue, as the cave walls jutted out dangerously before her. It felt just like home, and her eyes adjusted accordingly, receiving a healthy sense of familiarity.
And, much like home, something immediately tried to kill her.
It smelled the demon on her. She could hear it sniffing in the dark, but it was far blinder than she, and she was able to slip away before it managed to capture her in it's big, great claws.
And here she thought her eyes would never be useful at Amity..
((OOC: - If your student is a demon student, there is something here that really DISLIKES demon students! It attacks you in the dark, ow ouch stop that! At the very beginning of the trial, roll a 6-sided dice. If you roll even, you instantly fail this trial. If odd, continue on safely.
Bonus Mechanic: used here
- Students who glow in their natural form OR regular form receive an extra life, but it's still pretty dark down here, even for them. You can only use this once ))

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
So. She murmured to herself - since no one else could hear her. This obstacle course consists of me. Walking. Through a cave.
... That is it.
She stepped carefully past the boulders and pebbles that would trip a blind person, and headed straight for the flag, plucking it into her hands before looking around with disgust.
What a joke.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
Phase Two
The cave was certainly getting smaller, but it wasn't bothering Riley. She simply followed the path ahead of her, and watched it narrow. Like an ant tunnel, this was simply a product of space saving, a concept the Illithid understood perfectly.
The fork in the road was a welcome sight, however, and she looked down each path, before choosing the right one. Her quick steps only faltered when she heard growling coming from the path she'd chosen, and backed away.
Whoops. Wrong one.

Running away from growling predators through narrow caves that threatened to trap her made Riley's heart warm with nostalgia. If she could smile, she would be.
She missed home.
Reaching the fork once more, she slid against the damp, slimy floor and u-turned into the left path, barrelling down it instead and running straight into her next flag.

THE CAVE OF DARKNESS
Phase Three
The cave opened up once more, and Riley's eyes started to flicker as they adjusted to the dim light the room afforded. There was an exit, just ahead, though it was small, and disgusting. There was nothing new about having to get dirty for a trial, however, and Riley had no qualms against it. She headed straight for the exit, when a very horrifyingly rainbow colored tentacle burst out from the nearby wall. She had to stop, and seriously consider her options, before deciding whether or not a rainbow tentacle was an enemy for being a rainbow, or a friend for being tentacled.
The time she took to think was her downfall. The tentacle grabbed her by the ankles, and flung her feet first down a water slide, where she slammed into a body of water and her skin was once again pelted with wind and rain.
Just.. perfect.
She wanted back in the cave.
"Did you know.. rainbow tentacle monsters are usually found in underground caves because they're embarrassed about their appearance?"
Oh, do shut up.

Ice Road Runner
No sooner had Malodore entered the cave, but a massive blast of wind very nearly shoved it back out. It managed to not get shoved entirely back through the cavern entrance, but the wind did knock it right off of its hooves and onto the icy floor, where its claws gouged long scratches in the ice before it came to a halt.
That was just a little bit inauspicious.
"Did you know... that ice is slippery?"
Oh. That was why it was there. To be incredibly annoying.
