Still slightly dizzy from the news of the promotion, Reine was all set to prove her worth as an intermediate trainee. That meant working hard. Things like running more training courses. And sparring. All the sparring.
The first 'victim' she thought to cajole into sparring with her was Tori, after all, they were both life trainees, and she'd wanted to share the news with her friend, too. Not to mention, they'd never sparred before, and how, Reine didn't have a clue. Either way, she figured she'd fix that by leaving a simple message on the other girl's phone requesting to meet her at the training fields.

Always reading as that was what Tori had been doing when she had gotten a message from her friend requesting her to meet her on the training fields. The Lifer was excited about that as she hasn't spared with Reine before but then there weren't too many that she had. So she quickly left to meet up with her friend.
Once she had gotten to the training fields Tori looked around for Reine and spotted her not too far away. Walking quickly up to the other Lifer did she spot that Reine was wearing a different jacket an intermediate one and Tori got excited for her friend. That she ran the rest of the way up to Reine to which she proceeded to give her friend a huge hug. "Congratulation, Reine!!!!!'

"Hey, Tori, thanks." Reine grinned, returning the hug. "I still can't believe what happened, honestly." And for a variety of reasons, too, not least the fact that Caelius had switched bodies with Robert. But that didn't seem like something she should get into, and she'd been sworn to secrecy...
Oh well.
"I was just wondering if you wanted to spar, maybe, for some practice!" There was something else on her mind, really- with all the responsibility and pressure from the promotion, she felt like she needed as all the chances she could get to reconnect with her weapon.

"Your welcome," Tori replied excited while smiling. 'Well at least it will be something that you won't forget," she added. Tori was a little envious of Reine for promotion, but then squished those feeling aside as she would one day get her own.
"Sure that does sound like a lot of fun!" Tori answered as Aklin got really interested as he total agreed as they needed the practice. "Also no going easy and no holding back type of spar," she added with a smile smerk. Tori and her weapon wanted to test themselves win or lose.

"Heh." That mission had been something she'd never forget, for sure. No one else seemed to know the details, and certainly no one was talking about it, now, which was how she preferred it, really. It felt sort of like a secret, between herself and Caelius, and well, also Robert, and she guessed Clarice knew about it too.. which made it feel less like a secret, but she could deal with that. Past the mortification, it had actually been kind of nice, and...
Shirtless Caelius. It would probably be years before that mental image got wiped from her mind. She blushed just a little bit, before coughing and straightening up. Really not the best thing to be thinking about during a spar.
"No going easy," Reine promised, summoning Alynthe. "I'm ready whenever you are!"

Tori smiled more knowing that she might not win this spar but she didn't care, all she and her weapon wanted was practice with as many others as they could. It was also another way to know a person too or at least that is what Aklin told her a few times. "Yep," she replied as Tori summoned Aklin and clanked as she held him, tho sometimes she wished he didn't clank as there might be a time that she needed to be quiet. "I'm ready as well,"

Quietly Tori studied Reine's weapon as it might be a sword but it was different from her own and from others that she had seen before.
Well I want to make sure of an opening. Tori replied to her weapon as he just hissed loudly into her ear to just get on with it and stop delaying. Sighing as she took a deep breath and charged right for Reine sword up to take a slash and tightly holding onto the chain part of her weapon. Once she had gotten close to Reine and took a swipe at her with her sword feeling the blow land.

Tori was faster than she'd expected, and Reine couldn't dodge in time; the blade slashed across her left arm, and the searing pain made it hard to even hold on to Alynthe. At the very least she managed to keep her grip on the swordbreaker, even if Tori's blow had managed to knock her to her feet.
"Good one," she coughed, picking herself up and attempting to get back into position. There was no way she could lose this fight, it was almost like..
Yeah, she didn't even want to think about it.

"Thanks," she replied watching as Reine got up off the ground as she hadn't realized that she has hit that hard. Smiling more as she also got excited as Aklin was getting and wanted to see more. "So Reine what type of sword is yours as I haven't seen one before?" she asked.
Aklin laughed a little at his little filly asking questions in a spar as it was like how he asked questions of her when she was reading. Once Tori thought was enough time for Reine to get ready again, Tori charged again keeping her sword held high for another strike. Taking another swipe at Reine but not as powerful as the last as she was thinking about using her chain but at the last minute she changed her mind.

This time Aklin nicked her cheek, drawing a thin line of blood, and Reine shifted right, slashing down hard in retaliation. Even in a spar, even with a close friend, she wasn't about to hold back, especially not when Tori had made her promise, anyway.
"Ally's a swordbreaker," she grinned. She held the blade up, turning it slowly, letting the jagged edge catch the light. Most times she used it like a normal sword- there was no choice, really, when she was up against people like Jordan, for example, who used a hammer- but when the opponent used a blade as well... Tori would see for herself later, maybe.
"And how about Aklin?"

Hell's bells Tori thought when Reine's attack hit home as that one had been a strong one and glad that her shield had taken most of it, but Tori had almost dropped her chain as Reine's blade had slashed at that arm. "Good one," she said in excitement.
"Oh, very nice," Tori said as she watched as Reine showed off Ally as she was a beautiful sword and Aklin warned her to be careful as Tori knew that she would have to look up more about swordbreakers too. "Truthfully I really don't know an exact name to call him, except that he is a sword that has a ball and chain attached," she replied as Tori was stumped to know what or if there was a human weapon like him and she thought maybe not.
Tori thought that this could be a good time to show Reine the other part of Aklin. Taking up the same stance before but this time she started to twirl the ball end of her chain just as she started to charge with sword raised. Just as she was going to take a swipe at Reine she quickly lowered her sword and attacked with the chain and ball of Aklin.

"That's descriptive enough," Reine laughed. She hadn't heard of swordbreakers either, not before Ally, at least, but she liked the weapon the way she was.. except for the talking part, sometimes, though she'd learned to put up with that. Sometimes, even if she didn't admit it, she even enjoyed Ally's presence- it was nice to know someone was always there.
Tori's feint with the blade caught her by surprise, and Reine barely managed to raise her arm to avoid the hit, wincing as the spikes bit through her jacket. For a split second she wondered how Tori managed to use both the blade and chain; Ally was so light that Reine relied mostly on speed to get her hits in.
Then again, there were people with ridiculous weapons and they managed.. though Reine still liked hers the way it was.

Taking Reine's attack as this time it wasn't so bad as the last one as that one hurt a lot. "That is very true," she replied as backed off a little to give the both of them space. Tori also liked her weapon the way he was even with all the questions and it was good that she was never alone too.
Smerking a little seeing Reine surprised at the attack that she had learned that move when she spared with Marcus and she knew that if she did the same attack again as Reine would know what she was going to do.
he whined.
Alight. She replied to him as she took a deep breath readying her next attack. The gem on her sword started ooze a thick water that quickly coated the blade making it sharper. Charging right for Reine as this time she had kept her blade low and swiped up once getting to Reine.

There was a marked difference in the way Aklin felt when Tori slashed at her again; either she had just hit harder, or the sword seemed to have gotten sharper, cutting deeper into her leg. Thank god for fear shields; even if they didn't completely block out the pain, there was the reassurance that the wound would heal over, and it wasn't likely to leave a permanent mark..
Bringing the swordbreaker down, Reine aimed for Aklin rather than Tori first, catching the blade between the teeth of Ally's jagged edge, forcing the sword away from her. A flick of her wrist knocked Aklin away, and then she lunged straight at Tori, slashing as hard as she could.

Tori was surprised with Reine's attack when she first when for Aklin and then when right for her when she was wide open for attack to which Aklin did scream at her but it was too late as she went for her. Thankfully her shield saved her from worse damage but it was still really painful and she had a slice on her collar bone was. Oh she was having fun and learning too as she smiled. "Well at least now I know what a Swordbreaker can do,"
Taking a few deep breaths to help ease the pain in her mind or at least make her forget it for right now. This time she was fully going to use her chain and ball. Moving her hand that was on the chain close to her sword to which gave more slack to the ball to which she started to twirl around. Carefully she got close to Reine but not as close as she would to take a swipe and let the ball of her chain fly right for Reine.
