The temples hummed with the thunder of rain. It was a frequent occurrence in the jungle, providing life for the millions of trees. Sayen watched it from the entry way, eyes scanning everything. Every movement was noted by her, as she searched for any signs of movement beyond the safety of the temples. With the colony still so small, and the heavy rain, everybody'd been moved in to the safety they provided. Not that she worried about the river rising above its banks, but if there was a flood, everybody was at least safe. Whatever water flowed within the walls found its exit over the steps. The brown leopardess sat down, tilting her head. It had been a while since last she'd seen Mawi... Where had her brother gone off to?

The splash of paws in the thin layer of water and mud that began to cover the jungle floor was drowned out entirely by the harsh sound of winds and thunder, the sound of the heavy rain falling down on his home. The blue-stripped leopard slowly made his way through the familiar jungle, a lazy smile on his lips despite the rain that pelted him and the mud caking his fur.

His eyes were half closed, and he looked more like he was wandering his den half asleep, not trekking through the dangerous, stormy surroundings.

Still, this jungle... He knew it too well. He skirted the edges of sink-traps and gorilla territory like it was second nature. The long journey he had willingly suffered had been... enlightening, to say the least. His former mates infidelity, behavior and disappearance.. This things did not get past him, despite his absence. He had many ears and eyes in the jungle.

He'd long since dealt with the feelings that came with such betrayal.. But the sight of his home was hurting him none the less, as hard as it was to tell with his lazy, laid back manner.

Soon enough, he rounded a large cropping of threes that finally let his dual-colored eyes fall on the massive temple and surrounding ruins. Peering up them, he caught sight of sudden color against the greys and greens.. A bright ball of orange that brought a smile to his lips. He was home...

Like a ghost out of the mist, Mawi appeared. Sayen rose to her paws, a smile on her face. Even with the rain, she could make out his face and distinct striping pattern. One of her own sons had ended up looking quite a bit like him, and that had made her miss her brother even more.

With ginger steps, the leopardess descended the steps in front of the ruins, coat quickly soaking in the rain. She didn't mind. Mawi was home, at last, and she was very happy to see him. Her pace soon picked up, until she jumped down the last few steps to tackle Mawi. "You're home!"
