Perhaps sending Deryk away wasn't the best idea. Robert had sat, sullen, trying to explain to Madison that he was just fine thanks, and not in any trouble, while an entire case of beer sat in front of him. He'd been left alone to drink them without thinking, and then at some point he couldn't think about anything. But he knew this feeling, and he understood when it was time to stop. He was just surprised at the amount that it had taken.. Caelius was a bit of a lightweight. Out of boredom, and perhaps a little loneliness, he started plucking through Caelius' texts. He knew he shouldn't, or at least, he'd known he shouldn't, but right now shouldn't meant very little to him. Some of the texts were actually pretty interesting - requests for promotion, particularly. He chuckled at the names as he scrolled through, and passed one in particular before backtracking frantically. Was it really already time for Reine to become an intermediate?! Robert could have sworn she'd just awoken days ago.. but no, it had been months. She'd been back in his life for months, and now she was headed up the ranks, like a train that would never stop. A train destined to crash. Robert's heart contracted painfully, and he flipped back to open a new text, typing with determination. Zoobey Text 1 from Caelius: Ok. I come back. No more drilling. If yo promise one thin. I want 2 do rains procreation missile. Yo let me do this, yo come tell me what 2 do, an I will come back to the office after an stay an- Zoobey Text 2 from Caelius: I will be god boy an not do anything else please just this one thin and yo won't have 2 wart about me ne moose

Though Caelius, who was still waiting outside his own office door, glaring at anyone who tried to come nearby - this yielded mixed results, most people who just commented on how they didn't think standing in front of Caelius's office was the best thing to do - was well versed in several languages, some of them archaic as necessary to his line of work, he still had no clue what the ******** Robert was writing.
At least some of it made sense. Really at this point, there were no better options. Nio Love Text from Robert:Meet me back in the office and explain to me very clearly. I will consider this if you stand by your ******** promise. There was the italics again.
And considering, short of knocking his own body unconscious - and even then, he wasn't too sure if he could pull it off with Robert ******** Morris's stellar body condition - he really did have to consider alternate options.
At this point, Caelius was considering letting Robert live post-incident simply on the grounds that death was too swift a solution for Robert.

Reading that message felt so good. It was like angels were singing from on high - he could almost hear them. He closed the phone and stood with quick determination, storm out of the cafeteria and waving a friendly wave to Allan as he passed the man. He was a good guy, that Allan. He was so glad that guy was in charge of his friends.
It took him several minutes of hard, fast, and yet still wobbly walking, until he was nearing Caelius' door. It was still just as much a shock to see him standing there waiting at the door, as it was the first time he'd seen his own body. Despite the ridiculous way he wore his clothes, and the gunk he'd shoved into Robert's hair, he had to admit - he was one sexy beast.
"Hello, handsome." 'Caelius' muttered quietly as he passed the man right by and entered the room of his own volition. This time, he didn't sit at the desk. No, he wanted to be as close to Caelius' good side as he could get, for the moment. This was important.

Disregarding the comment entirely, 'Robert' simply turned around, unlocked his own office with his own key card, waited all of two seconds for 'Caelius' to follow suite behind him before slamming the door closed. It was really best if noone else was listening to this, especially if it involved procreation missiles.
The Death Hunter leader (in spirit) sighed, not yet defeated but very much exasperated. "Explain exactly and very clearly what you would like to do."

Robert turned around, and stood face to face with his own body. Well, to be fair, he stood face to neck, but he tilted his head up enough, and gave Caelius a very serious look.
"Sir, I want to perform Reine's promotion mission. I will remain inc.. inco.. I will continue to pretend I am you to the best of my ability, and I want you there to be with her, and make sure she doesn't get hurt and s**t. That's all I want. And then I will come back here with you, and sit down in a chair, and literally say absolutely nothing for the whole day, and sign your stupid papers, and do whatever you want."
His breath stank of alcohol, but he was sober enough to sound serious about his demand. "And I'll be good." He was already drunk, the amount of trouble he could get into from this point onward could only exponentially grow. In his mind, it was actually a damn good offer.

It took a moment for Caelius to wrap his mind around the fact that Robert somehow being drunk in his own body functioned better than Robert sober. Or, in general, Robert doing anything ever.
Congratulations Robert, you now have been upgraded from a five year old to a seven year old. Thankfully promotion mission sounded a lot more reasonable than procreation missile, and over intoxicating his body, seemed almost, honest to God reasonable.
However, Caelius was also very aware of Robert's unhealthy attachment to Reine. Circe would have been very interested in seeing the outcome, she was always into these sort of mind games - though the fact that she had not so much as appeared in de-summoned meant that she was probably as unstable as Robert's own weapon. Not to mention it was only just nearing 10:00 am. Having his own body secured to the office for the rest of the day sounded like a very reasonable insurance.
"Very well." He pressed on, because he suddenly had a feeling that he was going to regret this a ******** lot. "Send Reine a promotion mission request, date it for 10:15 am, and the location at the training fields. We will keep this promotion mission simple and straightforward. You will, under my pretense, observe her qualifications in one of the training courses. If she performs well, then she will be scheduled for a promotion to Intermediate." Caelius gave his own body a rather serious look. "There are no guarantees of immediate promotion, I hope I make myself clear."

"You misunderstand." Robert was a lot more capable drunk, than sober. It didn't take a man like Caelius to pick up on that. It was easier for Robert to be serious when his mind was swirling with metaphysical thinkings and emoness. He continued to explain with a straight face, even as he started texting Reine - which meant he didn't think no was an option at this point. He'd already said yes by now.. "I get that there's no guarantee of immediate promotion. If she ******** up, she don't deserve it. That's only fair - I ain't trying to get her some special circumstances.. except one." He closed the phone after sending the text, and all of a sudden, 'Caels' face broke out into a bright smile. "I want you to do it with her." danse-hexe Training fields. 10:15am. Production missile. Don't be lame.

Well, thanks, Caelius. For all she respected him- and was glad to see he was alive after the previous mission.. something had definitely gotten into him. First the cryptic messages, then the physical contact, the odd fit of.. self-depreciation? That wasn't the kind of hunter she wanted to be.
When the second summons came, Reine frowned at it, half-reluctant to answer or even show up. But maybe Caelius had recovered from whatever had happened to him- after all, he'd disappeared right after they'd crossed the hallway with arrows, and she hadn't a clue what he'd had to go through. Whatever it was, maybe this had something to do with it. Production.. missile? While it made sense that if he wanted a missile made, he would go to the life division, it did not make any sense that he was looking specifically for a trainee, especially not one who had a background in biology.. not physics.
Maybe he'd explain it to her face, and maybe he'd make a little more sense then.
Taking a deep breath, Reine stood up, threw her jacket on, and left the room. The message had said to be there by 10:15am, and even if Caelius didn't seem like his usual self, she didn't want to take chances.

It was getting really easy now ignoring Robert, which was really ignoring himself. Caelius tried that calming exercise by counting that the Life Labs Mental Health and Support Clinic insisted he at least try, because of that other thing, his temper thing. It was actually working out pretty well today.
He waited for Robert to step out before closing the door, taking a second to lock it securely again due to a reasonable case of paranoia and suspicion, before heading down to the training fields. The Life trainee in question was already waiting for them: Caelius simply walked straight towards her.
"Follow me." It was probably rather strange for some of the Hunters on the training field to see 'Robert' leading 'Caelius' and less so much Reine, but when had the Death Hunter leader actually given a ******** about what others thought. They didn't stop until they were in front of the only unoccupied training course, the Miss Taken Tower. "This exercise should be simple enough."
He chanced a glare at Robert, as if expecting them to say anything stupid any second now.

Robert was ready to prove Caelius as wrong as he could. In fact, despite the slight wobbly stagger that his steps seemed to sport, Caelius was looking mighty serious and totally not Robert-ish at all. He was determined, after all. Really, really determined.
Okay, so he'd kind of been hoping Caelius would have told him what to do when they got there, but it seemed things were going to be a little more complicated than that. They headed for the Miss Taken Tower, which Robert had never been to, and he stole a few curious glances just to get to know the place. But when 'Robert' spoke, he gave the man a very angry looking glare, and cleared his throat.
Someone wasn't playing his part right.
"Simple for an average trainee." 'Caelius' snapped out. "You, on the other hand, will probably fail it." He turned and gave Reine a very cold look, before waving them both off. "Your promotion mission is to complete this course with the handicap of Robert Morris as your partner. Good luck." It didn't sound like he meant it.
But oh, he did.

"Yes, sir." Admittedly there were questions in her mind, like what Robert was doing here, but all of that didn't matter as much as the fact that Caelius seemed back to his usual decent self. She looked up at him, her eyes as bright as his were cold, almost excited now that it turned out to be her promotion mission, and not.. the production of a missile
It took a little while more for her to realise that Robert, however, was his not-usual decent self. She squinted at him, the hint of a frown on her face, but she could question him later. Maybe Petra was knocking some sense into him, but she had no idea if it was really for better or worse, considering he looked..
Interesting.
Nodding towards Caelius respectfully, Reine grabbed Robert by the arm, and dragged him into the training course. She could do this, she couldddd. Even with Robert with her.

Mist Hunter The Miss Taken Tower General Information As the general, jack-of-all trades division, the Mist Hunter training course is a combination of the other divisions' training challenges and also one of the more complicated. The goal of this course is to rescue the princess in the tower. Below her, you'll find yourself confronted with a number of shadowling attackers, and beyond them, a room of only slightly deadly traps. But even should you reach her location, you still need to pick the lock on the manacles holding her in place. Unskilled fiddling with the locks will prove unhealthy for both the princess and yourself. And once that's done, you need to make your way back down through the traps and shadowlings, defending the princess the whole way.
The Miss Taken Tower is one of the most challenging and frustrating courses available.
If you fail: your princess dies, and you are quite possibly KO'd. Senior hunters are observing and will make with a timely rescue as needed.
If you win: the princess will adore you for the rest of her exceedingly brief existence. Peen points for 100% health for you and the Princess, shadowlings fought, going for consecutive rescues.
Part 1 Mechanics - roll your regular attack - roll your regular attack again - if you miss an attack, you lose 50% of your full HP - if you have an available recovery bonus, you may try to use that to avoid HP loss
Bonus Mechanics - This bonus is consumable. - for the Mist Course, it is recommended you review the mechanics of the other division courses, as the division bonuses carry over.
- Trainees: 0 recoveries - Mist/Sun Trainees: 1 recovery - Hunters: 1 recovery - Mist/Sun Hunters: 2 recoveries
Part 2 Mechanics - there are two steps worth of traps in this room, so you'll be rolling twice
- roll 1 d10 to determine what your character is about to step into - use your bonus mechanic to adjust as you can - adjust your HP and bonus count accordingly - roll 1 d10 to determine what your character is about to step into - use your bonus mechanic to adjust as you can - adjust your HP and bonus count accordingly - roll list: (feel free to get creative about what the traps actually were) (-50% HP is off your full HP, so if you hit -50% twice, then you are 100% KO'd)
01. horrible death 02. - 50% HP 03. - 50% HP 04. live 05. live 06. - 50% HP 07. horrible death 08. - 50% HP 09. horrible death 10. live
Bonus Mechanics - This bonus is consumable.
- Trainees: 1 flag - Mist/Death Trainees: 1 flag and one instinctive move - Hunters: 1 flag and one instinctive move - Mist/Death Hunters: 1 flag and two instinctive moves
Part 3 Mechanics - use the given roll for your hunter to try and open the lock on her right manacle. Rolling a 1 means you fumbled, and the cuff exploded causing both you and the princess to lose 50% of your full HP. - roll to repeat the process on the left manacle.
Bonus Mechanics
- Trainees: roll 1d4 - Mist/Life Trainees: roll 1d6 - Hunters: roll 1d6 - Mist/Life Hunters: roll 1d8
Part 4 Mechanics - roll 2 d8 to determine your defense against the trap area. - roll 2 d8 to determine how much trap damage targets the princess. - adjust her HP accordingly - roll 2 d8 to determine your defense against the shadowling area. - roll 2 d8 to determine how much shadow damage targets the princess. - adjust her HP accordingly - leftover defense does not stack
Bonus Mechanics
- Trainees: +0 defense - Mist/Moon Trainees: + 2 defense - Hunters: + 2 defense - Mist/Moon Hunters: + 3 defense

Ten.... eleven... twelve....
- He took a deep breath and gave the door closing behind them from the tower the longest and hardest look of both hatred and suffering, which probably meant that Robert just looked partially constipated.
Thirteen.... Fourteen....
And then Caelius suddenly remembered that he couldn't summon Robert's weapon, at all. <******** only reason he had not stepped out of the tower then and there was because of the hundreds of <******** shadow mobs poised for attack. He paced himself rather quickly through the first wave. Technically, he could still make it weaponless, as he had learned from experience a long time ago, as long as they got to the traps stage, preferably in one piece. "Robert?"
He'd torn himself out of her grip the moment they stepped in, running ahead of her without his weapon, even. What the ****. If she hadn't been frowning then she most certainly was now, and even as she summoned her weapon, running after him through the shadowlings, she was yelling at him, something about being more sensitive, and 'if you touch my princess I will ******* murder you'.
Because she was supposed to be the star of this show, maybe Robert wanted to show off his intermediate trainee knowledge, but this wasn't the place for it.
She took pride in the fact, at least, that she'd killed more shadowlings than he had.Status Stage: 1-1Your HP: 40/40 Princess HP: 20/20 Stage 1 Recoveries: 0 Stage 2 Flags and Instincts: 1 Stage 3 Roll: 1d6 Stage 4 Bonus HP: 0

There was absolutely no hard feelings to Robert or Reine, or anyone whatsoever as he scraped by the second part of the shadow run. At this point, he was actually wondering if stepping onto all the tiles at the Deathsweeper section would at least put him out of his misery.
