 The cool night air feathered over the sea, sending sprays of mist to the shore. Hiruki picked through the sand, taking a stroll not to far from the cove where he lived. The weather was a small ticket to heaven. Spring was coming early, and left a desirable longing over the not-so-cold winter night. It created pure bliss in the sunset kissed stallion. He gazed out at the perfect puffy clouds, that dappled over the star spotted evening sky. It's times like these, he wished he was a creative painter. To be able to capture such a feeling in a permanent scene, seemed so romantic to him.
Pulling in closer to the ebbing waves, he walked while looking down. Each time the water pushed in, he took delight as he watched the waves crash around his golden ankles. He took note of a conch shell stuck in the mud, and stopped walking. Without a second thought, he plucked it from the mud with his mouth. The suction of the mud released, and the shell hung from his mouth. The inhabitant protested from the cool air, and coiled back into his home. Hiruki set it down on the ground, observing it for a moment. "Mmmm. Lucky for you I came along tonight my little sea friend." With that he bent back down, scooped it into his mouth, then walked knee deep out into the water. Aligning his body with the horizon, he paused for only a moment. Arching his head back towards his left shoulder, he whipped quickly the opposite way, out towards the sea, and opened his mouth. The conch shell went sailing out into the depths of the ocean, with a "pa-loosh" sound as it met it's destination back into deeper waters.
"Enjoy your life." he spoke quietly, then headed back out of the waters, and continued walking along. His dreamy stare returning back to the sea.

Soon Ikki was approaching the shore line, and began to surface in order to take a much needed breath. When the water was only several feet deep, an object suddenly dropped into the water behind Ikki, disrupting the ocean water. In surprise, Ikki quickly turned around, her tail creating visible splashes in the shore in her panic.
Seeing the crustacean poke out of it's shell, Ikki felt annoyance bubble up in her chest. Luckily, no one was there to see her overreact. Slightly curious, Ikki shyly swam towards the surface, her head breaking the ocean's surface just enough for her eyes to poke out. The sun had completely set by now, and Ikki could only see shadows. Was it safe? Who's there? Ikki wondered. Surely, the crustacean did not fly into the ocean by itself. Maybe it would be safer to go to another beach to rest...

With electric golden eyes, he caught movement in the water, with a swirl of motion under the blanket of the sea surface. The sunset colored stallion cocked his head quizzically to the side. Someone was out there! He did hope he hadn't clonked anyone in the head with the large shell! Without a second thought, he turned and began to push into the water with a few leaps over the waves. If they were drowning, he would save them!!
By the time he barely had ran into the waves, he saw the top of a head poke up above the water. Their eyes were open. Thank gosh!! They were not drowning at least. "Sorry about that!" he called out with a sincere apology, yet his voice still had an underlying jubilee of warmth. "Did I hit you?" he walked further out into the water, wading through the thickness of the ocean. Hiruki would feel absolutely dreadful if he had hurt someone! Even if unintentionally. He stopped at about chest height. The blue curls of his mane and tail swirled back and forth around him, playing in the ebb of the waves.

Ikki backed away as she saw that a shadow had moved closer. Cautious, she moved backwards into deeper water. Suddenly the stallions voice broke through the sound of the ocean, causing Ikki jump in surprise. Without thinking she moved back a few feet once more, putting more distance between her and the stranger.
Realizing that the stallion was apologizing, she lifted herself a little higher but kept her distance. She kept quiet, not sure what to say with such a thing. Sorry? This was starting to look less bothersome and more interesting. What was he sorry for?
"Did I hit you?" he said as he walked towards her. Ikki shrunk back into the water a little bit in response. Looks like he was the reason why the shell had randomly plopped into the ocean. It didn't hit her, but did she want to reply to his question? Still thinking it over, she just looked at the stallion- who she could now make out- and stayed quiet.

Hiruki stood there as the current tried to push him back. It appeared to be a soq for sure he noticed as they lifted a little higher out of the water, but no sooner had they lifted up, then they shrunk back into the depths. That was odd. Could they be scared of him? Also, how were they keeping themselves out in the water swimming, without tiring? What could he do now? He pondered for a moment, looking on into the water at the stranger. "My name is Hiruki!" he was trying to think of something to ease whoever it was. A name seemed like a perfect way to do so. Maybe then things wouldn't be so odd between them.
"What is your name? " He was half tempted to swim out into the water, but he held his ground and did not move. Well, he moved when the bigger waves pushed against him, but that was unavoidable. Once, a big wave splashed up, and he turned his head to the side. When he turned back, he looked, hoping they were still out there, and would respond.
