Red Cliff had been trying not to think about it, but there were monsters to fight, and, now that he did have the power to stand against them, he really should be out doing battle. Protecting the civilians just as he had wished someone would protect him.

Today, he had decided that he was going to go monster hunting. Red Cliff had powered up, summoned his duster (though he had no idea how he was going to fight with it) and was actually going to beat up a youma tonight. Then maybe he could finally stop being terrified.

Around twenty minutes later, he had located one. The feeling of darkness from it had made it easier than the Page had perhaps hoped, but he told himself over and over that he was not about to keep running away. Which was hard when he saw that the creature had two heads. Red Cliff felt like he was doing a decent job defending himself (he was not bleeding yet!) but even with all he had learned from his tai chi classes, he was not at all sure how to find an opening to attack, himself.

He really hoped this would not turn out to be a terrible idea. And the Page of Mars did not want to have to rely on someone to save him again.

It was the energy of the youma that had drawn Valhalla towards the fight taking place. His first concern was making sure there were no civilians around, and once he'd done a quick look around the area (as well as listened for screams and such), he made his way towards the energies of the monster and knight.

There was still a lot for them all to learn about being knights, but while trying to figure that all out, Valhalla was more than happy to work with those who are willing to accept his help.

"Are you okay?" he called out to the page, hoping not to distract him from concentrating on the youma with... two heads?! They just kept getting stranger and stranger... The squire approached the scene with caution, his weapon hanging from the thin chain with strange crystals adorning it. The gyrocompass was unmoving, although it shifted to point North towards the horizon as he took a few more steps forward.

"Red Cliff, right?" he asked, hoping he remembered the other knight's name. Talk about embarrassing if he really wasn't the same teen he'd met at the strange meeting... It was a little different seeing knights in clothing other than their uniform, but the energy surrounding him felt like he'd at least met him before.

"Oh! There's a party. My bad for crashing," Sessrumnir grinned in amusement, arriving on the scene as well. Sure he had class tomorrow, and sure he had a nice buzz from just being at the bar, but there was nothing wrong with offering help to the younger generations, right? They were fighting a youma that seemed a bit too strong for a single knight to take care of, especially as a page.

As feisty and confident as Red Cliff was, or at least appeared to be, Sessrumnir doubted that he would be able to get out of the situation on his own. Luckily, he had Mr. Goody Two Shoes to help him out. How sweet.

"Don't mind me, I'll just supervise," he said, lifting a hand to give them a halfhearted wave, as if shooing them to pay less attention to him and more to the youma that seemed intent on eating them, or at least maim them. "Look out for its tail!" he suggested over the roar of the youma.

The tail swished from side to side before aiming a blow at both Red Cliff and Valhalla. Hopefully they'd get out of the way in time.

"Yeah," Red Cliff affirmed, stealing a half-second glance back at the -- two other Knights? He saw them without really seeing them, unwilling to take his attention off of the youma while it was this close. A good idea, as he caught sight of the sweeping tail just as the other Knight called out his warning.

"I uh, wanna try to get it myself," he told them haltingly as he hopped out of the way. "Or like--" It was hard to dodge and talk at the same time. "Don't save me yet?" The red-haired boy stopped, planted his feet, and caught the creature's sweeping tail the next time it came back at him. Then, grasping it in smarting hands (and half-surprised he had actually succeeded in catching), he shifted his weight back and yanked on the youma's tail.

"I'm a coward." Red Cliff added with a laugh, releasing the youma's tail and hopping back to put some distance between himself and the monster. Then he got a good look at both of the Knights. "And also forgetful," he added, shaking his head and chewing his lip. "Sorry, I completely don't remember your names."

Valhalla glanced over to the other Jupiter knight who decided to show up, frowning at his cheeky comments. He hadn't spoken to the guy very much, but when he had heard him, the squire in question often sounded rather full of himself.

"Valhalla," he offered to the Mars knight, making sure to jump out of the way when the youma swished its tail towards them. "It's fine. There's a bunch of us wandering around now," he pointed out, not minding at all if his name had been forgotten when they'd all introduced themselves rather quickly.

But he doubted this guy was a coward. He was fighting a youma by himself, so that had to take some bravery, right?

"Don't worry about it," he reassured him, taking a step back so Red Cliff could focus on the youma instead of them.

"Well, now I feel awkward for loitering," Sessrumnir mumbled, stretching his arms over his head and then rolling his shoulders to stretch them out. "Sessrumnir," he introduced, flashing a grin and a wink at both Valhalla and Red Cliff. It received a grimace from the Jupiter squire, but he seemed to be rather straight laced to begin with.

"You're doing good, kid," the teacher-by-day offered in encouragement. Or encouragement enough, since he yawned rather loudly as he spoke, and then moved to lean up against the wall of a nearby building.

"What's your weapon? Or did you get stuck with something shitty?" he asked once he was done making himself comfortable for the duration of the fight. "Usually shoving something into its mouth helps. They don't like eating things. What are these things after, anyway? Energy or starseeds? That's like, your soul, right?"

"Something like that I think," Red Cliff replied. "Or star seeds or important, anyway, and seem to be a target."

The youma thundered towards him, and he stumbled, narrowly dodging a gnarled hand full of claws. "Aahh-I didn't really get the full handbook yet." Eventually he would get tired of just dodging. Or was starting to already maybe. But with another jump, he put more distance between himself and the monster, and also led it away from the other two knights of Jupiter.

And then, with a gesture, he summoned his feather duster. "I don't think it's shitty," he called back in reply, finding some comfort in the plastic weight of it. Certainly, Red Cliff would have preferred a sword or a spear or something to keep youma like this two-headed one as far away as possible while doing damage, but - his eyes flickered momentarily down to the wad of feathers on a stick he clutched - this duster was his in a way that made him feel strangely defensive of it. Something in the red-haired boy almost felt insulted by proxy at Sussrumnir's words.

It took the large youma a few moments to deal with Red Cliff's abrupt change in direction, but it turned to follow him regardless, lashing its tail around as it whirled, then rushed him again with teeth bared.

The duster was not a traditional weapon, for sure, but the Page of Mars could make do. He crouched as the youma charged, muscles shaking with anticipation and more than a little nervousness, and then, when the time was right, he shoved the feathers into the eyes of one of the youma's twin heads in an attempt to obscure its vision, and at the same time, lashed out with a punch at the other head.

A well aimed beam of magic, kept the youma from rearing back, hopefully allowing Red Cliff to attack it once more now that he was in arms reach of it.

“I’ve got your back,” Valhalla reassured the other, hoping it would be enough to help build some courage in him. It wasn’t every day that they had to fight youma, and when they got the chance, well… it was always better to have a little backup.

”I guess it’s better than the keychain I first got,” Sessrumnir grinned, his own weapon being pulled from subspace so he could… maybe help a little.

His own magic was able to ‘trap’ his target within an illusion of a storm — but one only they could see. So when he took a few more steps back and aimed his stormglass at the youma and it started tensing up as though expecting a sudden downpour, well… yeah, that was his doing.

But it was still nice to see the youma burst into dust. After the trouble it seemed to be giving Red Cliff, it was almost surprising to see it defeated so easily… Ah, but he also supposed it helped when two others were there.
