Name - Mordred
Gender - Male
Basic Personality - Mordred is a caprious, self centered, and prideful creature, much like the dragons his kind once shared blood with. He tends to be polite, and reserved most of the time, unless he feels he has been wronged, and then the fuse lights. He has been doing his best in the hartlands to keep a rein on his temper, but there was a very good reason it took him so long to finally venture off the top of his mountain. He has little patience for most, but the more interesting he finds someone, the more likely he is to stick around. He does his best to treat everyone as an equal, finding the prejuduces he's run into in the Hartlands (there was a rather interesting run in with a hind of the vegitarian variety...) immature and idiotic. To write someone off for one reason seems utterly infantile to him. Mordred always keeps to his manners, and can be seen as a very 'proper' hart, but this is mainly because of his lack of socialization... It has been long since his twin sister disappeared from the top of their mountain, and she was the last he knew... Now he is alone, and wandering the hartlands. Perhaps not even a dragon can withstand loneliness.

Powers -*1
-Immune to cold-Mordred has the ability as a dragon herla to withstand almost any cold. This can be attributed to his larger size and lung capacity, thicker fur, and the fact that his kinds has lived at the peak of the mountain since they began. It is quite possible that this prolonged conditioning affected the herla side of the dragon-herla, leaving his ability unlikely to have roots in just his dragon's blood. While that may have been the case in the beginning, I've no doubt that over time the herla side to them began to compensate as well.
-Dragon's Teeth-More of a startling feature than a power, Mordred's toothy grin resembles that of a Talon, more than any herla. In the harsh regions of the mountains, it is quite likely that the dragon herla would have been almost exclusively carnivorous, between their dragon's blood, and the over all lack of vegetation at the top of the Icefall Mountains. This would make them top contenders with the wolves of Icefall mountain, and while the dragon herla's defenses, massive size, and firebreathing give a good edge, it wouldn't be unheard of for a dragon herla to fall when cornered by a pack.
*2
-Dragon's Breath-One of the few pure attributes of the dragons that has passed down, even to their halfbred kin, is the ability to breathe flame and smoke. It isn't uncommon for smoke to steadily leak from Mordred's nostrils, especially when agitated. At maximum, Mordred could sustain a flame aprox. two feet in length and the circumference of his neck for a minute straight, if he strained. The larger the fire, the weaker it will be as well. Each burst of flame costs energy, and if he were to sustain his maximum for a full minute, he would likely be unable to produce even a flicker of flame for a few days and be physically drained as well.
-Dragon's Flight-While Mordred has no wings, he can jump extraordinary distances and heights. It is unclear whether this ability stems from the dragon's blood, or the hundreds of years that his kinds lived atop the mountains, or both. Either way, this ability is one of his favorite, and his sure feet are something that he takes much pride in his sure feet, his ability to jump to a cliff three times his height high in the air and land with the surety of a cat. He can also jump down with an equal surety, and as a fawn, imagined himself a dragon dropping out of the sky. While Dragon Flight sounds fancy, in all reality, it makes Mordred little more than a really bad-*ss mountain goat.

Backstory - Mordred grew up atop Icefall Mountain, carefully shepherded by his mother and father, forever romping with his twin sister...He was never the kind to be curious about the outside world, and much preffered learning the old stories, the old legends about his kind, to preserve them for the future. When he was a barely more than a yearling, his parents passed, leaving himself and his twin sister alone... He had clung to the mountain top for so long, proclaiming that he wouldn't be the one to forget his kind, his ancestors, but the day came when it was only him, so lonely at the top of his grand mountain. What use was it, clinging to the old ways and the old stories, if all he did was sit atop his mountain, alone until he died? And so the dragon began to make his way down to the hartlands.

***Edit starts here
It was then that the hart, barely more than a fawn, met the yearling Lanister. The little hind had struck out on her own beforehand, and had already become quite an efficient little hunter. With no skills to speak of, the dragonherla depended upon her heavily for food until she taught him to fend for himself. Even then, the two stuck together like glue. She was a strange mix of mother and sister to him, and friend even in adulthood. The two grew to know each other better than any other ever could, and for a long time it was them against the big, bad, harsh world. With his firebreath, he was able to keep them warm through winters harsher than anything either of them had ever seen. At note, he remembers one harsh time when he had convinced the little hind to climb to the top of the Icefall mountain where near nothing lived. In his mind, it was a safe place, somewhere away from predators that might prey upon the small two. They had gotten as near as they could to the top, when Lanister fell, frost thick on her fur. She kept telling him not to worry, that she was fine. That she only needed to rest, and they would continue. He kept her warm as best he could, but it was when she stopped trying to comfort him that the young hart grew terribly worried. He dragged her half frozen form to the nearest cave, and kept a steady stream of flame until she stirred again. Before then, he had never understood that he was different, that other herla could not withstand the same cold he could. It was a lesson he never forgot. They grew and grew, and then came the day that Lanister wanted to venture beyond the mountain, see the world. Even then, he was terrified to leave the shelter of the mountain. The two argued, and Lanister left. She told him she didn't blame him, that she wasn't angry, but she needed to follow her own path, and that wasn't here. He spat at her to leave, and with a heavy heart, she did.
Someday, he hopes to find someone to share his stories with, so that his kind might not completely die out with his end...And somewhere, deep down, he hopes to see Lanister again.. Perhaps.. perhaps she could forgive him...*3

Questions, Concerns and Comments

*1-(And here is where I'm foggy. Feel free to veto any powers that the staff does not think appropriate. I'm going to use my entry, and all other information given on him for the Dragon Herla Contest that I won him from. Also, since the dragons have been classified as the ancestors of the talons, I'll be pulling from their abilities as well to get a better idea of what the dragons could do. Additionally, some of these could be classified as features, or abilites, rather than powers, but all of them are things that I would like to OK with staff before I use them in rp, or my character's profile.)

*2-((Which makes me wonder, did the increasing population of the hartlands push the wolves further into the mountains? Could that have been what caused the end of the dragon herla, or are they simply at the end of their time, as the dragons were?))

*3-(Solar Occultation owns his twin sister, I believe. Solar, if you'd like to discuss anything about Mordred's background, especially his relationship with his sister, just let me know! I'm very flexible on his back story, especially when another character could have been so heavily involved ^^ Conversely, if Solar doesn't want the twin involved in Mordred's backstory at all, that's ok too ^^)

Fire of that size is a bit too much for me. He can breath fire, and also let off smoke when he's irritated. but if he emits a flame let's keep it under 2 feet please <3

other then that:

**Edited on 9-18 to include Lanister in his backstory, and also fix powers to be in line with Poi's specifications
