A few days after Valentines and he would admit. He was curious. Okay a little more than curious, he was being nosy. Could anyone blame him? (They could). Gale had the best opportunity to ask Eva out and to his knowledge, nothing happened. Nothing. Which… did he need to go kick Gale or something? He’d missed prime hook up time! Wait- did Eva hook up with someone else? s**t. s**t did she? He hadn’t heard anything. Rolling on the couch in the commons he debated how to figure it out. Could ask Gale. And then get shot. Could fish around the rumor mill. Maybe find other s**t out. Not get called a snoop. Or- Or- He could just ask her. It’s not like she was super secretive right? Sending a text over, Marcus hoped it didn’t come off as weird. Kaiyumi You get asked out? Or did he not manage to man up? PS: I’m in commons I want to hear story

For once, Eva wasn't out early and training. Instead, she had spent the morning flopped on her bed, a novel in hand. With the exception of the necessities, the book had been one of the only personal possessions that she had brought with her from home. It was a favourite of hers, and one that she had read many times before. Still, she never got bored of it.
...Not usually, at least. However, since there was so much time to kill here, this was the third time Eva had read this book that week. Thus, Marcus' sudden text had come as a much needed (and much appreciated) distraction. Dropping the book, Eva reached out to retrieve the phone on her bedside table.
"...Haha, what?" Eva grinned at the text, lifting a brow. Asked out? She supposed that Marcus meant for Valentine's Day, in which the answer to that would be "no". However, instead of texting him back, she snapped the phone shut, threw on her jacket, and promptly made her way out of her room.
When she made it to the common room, she immediately noticed Marcus standing nearby...with his back turned to her. Unable to resist the urge, she attempted to sneak up behind him, waiting until she was standing only a foot behind him when she suddenly piped up with a cheerful, "My my, Marcus. Getting nosy about my personal affairs, are you?"

Marcus was being nosy. No way he could cover it. He could try but at this point ******** it all. As Eva arrived, he smiled. Hard not to, Eva was just that sort of person. "Nosy... well he's not easy to ask, and I've heard nothing from the rumor mill. But I gave him like, all the prime info and I heard nothing? The guy just-" Hands in the air. "Valentines. Perfect day to try. So tell me, what happened? Any secret gifts? Messages? Flowers even? At least tell me the dope got you flowers."
Considering he'd not told her that said dope was Gale, hard to really pick out who was who if she got more than one thing. "But aside from that, how was the holiday for you? Any missions? No beatings from leads I hope."

If possible, Eva's grin grew even wider as Marcus asked her a series of questions. However, she made no move to answer them--instead, she waited until he listed them all off before giving a shrug of her shoulders. "I don't know, Marcus. Are you going to bother this 'dope' if told you?"
She gave a dismissive wave of her hand. "Didn't do much, no! Valentine's is cute, but it was never really a big deal for me--not like Christmas. But..."
Trailing off, her expression suddenly became rather sly. Sliding up to Marcus, she playfully elbowed him in the side. "What about you and Cass, huh? Get her anything special for Valentine's?" Her good-natured teasing was followed by a bright laugh, and then a wide-eyed expectant look as she stared up at Marcus, hands propped up on her hips. Two could play at the nosy game! That, and she was genuinely curious.

Crap did he really not get her anything. Gale, you were a wonderful guy but god just- She was right there and you could have at least- just. He didn't even know. He didn't. "Augh, if he seriously got you nothing yes, I am going to bother him. Well, I do it anyway this just gives me something else to bother him about." True enough. He'd bug Gale about something, tease him about something else, good times.
The question about Cass however, sent Marcus stumbling, face filling to a very vibrant shade of red. "I uh...." he was suddenly feeling very embarrassed. "I got her a bunch of gifts then like... hid them. I sent her texts and made her look for them all day." It sounded like a terrible idea when he said it out loud. "It ended with us having dinner. I mean- like, a nice dinner. It was... good." Avoiding eye contact he knew he was blushing, he knew it. "I had a very good valentines day I guess."

Haha, uh oh! Maybe she should say something. Holding up her hand, Eva raised a brow and smiled. "Hold it, hold it. Who said that I didn't get anything? Maybe I just don't want to tell you so that you won't go and harass this mystery person." Would this attempt to spare this mysterious person from interrogation work? ...Probably not, but she could at least hope so, right? "I can be secretive too, you know!"
Eva didn't even bothering trying to hide her grin behind her hand, beaming quite obviously at the man. The blush did not go unnoticed--it would have been too obvious even if she had tried to ignore it. "Awww, Marcus!" Because that's exactly what the embarrassed Moon hunter needed: Eva acting like a typical teenage girl (despite being 20), "That's adorable! I'm glad to hear that you had a good Valentine's."
Okay, so maybe Valentine's had never really been her kind of holiday, but that didn't mean that she didn't like listening to the V-day stories her friends had to share. Especially if it meant that she could get in a little teasing.

Sadly, Eva was right in the sense that Marcus was going to harass her mystery person. He'd do it quite a bit and probably get shot for it, not to mention yelled at. Gale was.. sensitive at times, (not that Marcus could blame him. He hardly had the guts to talk about him and Cass half the time). Trying to get rid of the blush Marcus went back to what he wanted to talk about, her.
"Fine. Keep your secrets. I'll keep mine next time. Death hunters... Maybe that is why you guys are in that division, you're all secretive, even about the little things." Still, he rubbed the back of his head. "I'm just glad anyway."
The blush was back. "She..liked it. I wasn't sure if she would. But um.. yeah. Yeah. Um." He fidgeted. "What about you, isn't there anything you can tell me?"

Eva lifted her hand, laughing behind it at the blush that had bloomed over Marcus' cheeks. Awww. Judging by the twinkle in her eyes, it was clear that she was never going to get sick of teasing the moon trainee. Ever.
Poor Marcus.
"This is not a 'little thing'," Eva protested, grinning as she leaned forward and wagged a finger in his face, "I'm only being secretive in an attempt to prevent any possible harassment for Mystery-Person! Besides, maybe I got a lot of stuff for Valentine's, or maybe I didn't. It's really not a big deal either way."
Oh, the blush. The fidgeting. Eva's grin grew wider and wider, and then without warning, she slung one arm up around Marcus' shoulder while her other hand went up to ruffle his hair. "Why are you so adorable, Marcus? You and Cass both!" And she pointedly ignored his request because nope, she wasn't telling him anything.
...Or, well..."That depends what you want to know."

Owch! Right in the feels. (This was not a typo) Marcus was not about to admit he was insecure about some thing. He was just.. going to... avoid it. As best he could. This sounded like a good plan.
"Still going harass him anyway. You don't make this easy though. I will find out and then well-" He shrugged looking down the hall. "He'll just have to deal with it. He does on other s**t anyways. This is just one more thing he'd have to death with from me." looking at her again he was trying to ignore hair ruffling.
He pouted even.
"Cass has always been adorable. I'm not." Puffing up he asked, "Just... list off gifts you got or something."

Sigh, looked like mystery-person was going to be harassed no matter what. Sorry, mystery-person--couldn't say that she didn't try.
The pout only earned another giggle from the girl, whose had the decency this time to bring a hand up in an attempt to shield her grin from Marcus. Only it was probably a futile attempt, as it was pretty obvious that she was amused by his reaction (when wasn't she?). "You're adorable in your own way," She replied in an assuring tone, as if he had been seeking reassurance, "A different type of cute from Cass, but still cute."
Yup.
Hmm, listing off gifts? She could do that. Lifting her hands, she cocked her head to the side, looking thoughtful as she ticked things off on her fingers. "Umm. Chocolates. Charm bracelet. Flower hairclips."
Did she mention that these were her Christmas gifts? He hadn't specified, after all.

He didn't want to be adorable. He wanted to be- well he wasn't sure. Adorable just didn't sound cool. Still, one didn't really argue with Eva. She just was unarguable on the front of cuteness and all things cute. As she listed off her gifts he sighed. It didn't sound like things Gale might have gotten her.
"Well, at least you got chocolates. I'm just going to have to bug him. Anyway-" He smiled. "Glad to hear you're doing good. You have any training today? I might join you if so."

Eva was just stubborn, that much was for certain. Furthermore, if there was one thing about the girl, it was that she loved playful teasing. It seemed that poor Marcus was just one of her favourite people to tease.
Alas, Marcus was clearly very stubborn as well. Even with her vaguely listing off a few of her gifts, he still had the intention of bothering that poor soul. Oh well. At the question, Eva visibly brightened up, holding her hands together as she leaned in slightly. "I do, yes! And please do join me!" If Eva were a puppy, her tail would be wagging a mile a minute right now from the look on her excited and hopeful face, "It's no fun training alone."
Not that...training was really supposed to be fun in the first place, but...

Huffing, Marcus would try to keep his reactions to teasing at a minimum but, he didn't have that much control as he would have liked. In any case, training was something he could do. "Okay, I've got time and a sword that likes to fight so shall we go?"

Ah ha, awesome! She had been worried about having to practice alone--after all, an unmoving target was nothing compared to someone who could think--but now that wasn't a concern anymore. Eva certainly wasn't going to complain about Marcus' offer--in fact, she was going to jump on it before he could try to take it back.
"Alright! Let's get going!" Grinning, Eva suddenly jumped forward to grab Marcus' arm, proceeding to half-drag, half-lead him down the hall and out to the training grounds. All the while, the excited expression on her face didn't change.
This was going to be a long day.
