Lissy had been told off again but this time it really hadn't been her fault. She had done nothing wrong and her mother had just been in an awful mood which of course put Lissy in one. She wasn't going to stay 'grounded' when she had done nothing wrong so instead of climbing out the window like she normally would instead she ran out the front door making a good job at slamming it shut before running off down the street.
It didn't take her long to get to the dump on the outskirts of town. It had become a place she could go and hide and ignore the world. She even had her own little den set up and no one knew about it. It was hers.
The den didn't have much, an old sofa and mattress had been found in the den area, she found some sheets and cloths to help hide it a little more and then all in all the den came together. The mattress had a hole in it where she stuffed things she didn't want other people to know about but she wasn't doing that today. She knew exactly what she was doing today.
She got her pen out and henshined up and then climbed onto the sofa and curled up, her phone in hand.
She closed her eyes and listened for that jungle sound that she knew all too well. She heard it easy enough and pressed the button that took her to that jungle place.
The first time she had arrived on her asteroid had been with Perseus and the first thing she remembered was juggling. She had such an overwhelming need to juggle and she couldn't! However that was changing, she practiced all the time!
Her asteroid was so dead, not completely dead, shells of living trees still stood and some were still strong enough to hold her weight and that's what she wanted to try out. She wanted to know what was up those trees, the roads carved into them were so clear.
She kicked the floor as she walked, it was dusty and this place wasn't suppose to be dusty. She crouched down and tried to clear some of the rotten leaves and stuff away to find out if anything was still alive. She didn't find anything though. She let out a sigh and walked through the dead jungle looking up at each tree as she walked past. It was as if they had just given up on life. She picked a tree, just by chance and walked over to where the road started winding round it.
The roads were longer and a little steeper then she had expected but she walked all the way to the top where she found something she had not expected.
A whole town.
As she looked through the canopy of the lifeless tree's there were houses, or what use to be houses. The shells of lives now lost. She walked into the building of the tree she had climbed and cried. The tears just came for what seemed to be no reason. She curled up in the corner of the room cried.
How long she cried for she had no idea nor why she cried but it seemed to be the logical thing to do at the time. She just needed to let it all out, the emotion that seemed to come from no where. She pulled her knees close to her chest and buried her head, trying to keep the emotions at bay. It made no sense, none of it!
"Lyssa, Lyssa ya mussn't sleep now!" Lyssa opened her eyes blinking, it was so bright. She looked around and the house was whole, there was the smell of food being cooked and her mother - yes her past mother was there cooking for her. "Lyssa eat, now." Lyssa looked up and smiled before heading to the table and started to eat the food that tasted like heaven. The meat was tender and perfectly cooked and apparently it was normal, the food she ate every day.
"Oh Lyssa, it back! Gerrou'! Lyssa!" She looked up from her food and laughed. She was too young to be seen as anything but a child and though she turned ten today and would soon be prepped for adult hood all she wanted to do was sit, juggle and play with the Swingers, especially one in particular.
"I sort it!" Lyssa shouted back to her mother before heading for the door with some of the veg she had on her plate now in her hand. She went and climbed up onto the roof of the house and lent against the tree trunk. " 'ere ya go!" She held the veg out towards a Swinger with bright blue eyes. "Lusie it's ma birthday." She chuckled before handing all the veg to the tame Swinger. Lyssa had always been friends with this one in particular which was quite something but yet her mother had never liked it. Lyssa knew it was rare to tame a Swinger and those were admired for it but Lyssa could never understand why it was her mother never liked the idea. Then on as if on queue her mother called her.
"Stay Lusie! She won' wan' ya down dere." She stroked the Swinger before jumping back off the roof and headed into the house. There were strangers there she wasn't expecting to see, and some seemed important. Her mother was unhappy that was clear as anything.
"Lyssa?" One of the men spoke directly to her. "You turn ten today yes?" He spoke way too proper for her liking but she nodded anyway. "You are one who has been picked to try out at being a soldier for the asteroid." The woman smiled sweetly beside the guy but Lyssa just stared at them both. "I 'ave to go somewhere?" She asked and they nodded in like perfect unison. She looked to her mother and smiled, lets face it no one would want Lyssa as a soldier, she was a pain!
"On'y if Lusie comes! Can' leave her 'ere." The pair looked confused till her mother explained Lusie was a Swinger and then the pair looked intrigued and whispered between themselves.
"Of course you can." The woman spoke proper as well. Lyssa wasn't sure she liked it. Still she was told she could take Lusie.
What happened next happened quickly. It was if everything was on fast forward. Lyssa got the Swinger who refused to go in the basket they wanted her in and instead sat on her shoulder the whole time. They took her to the main area where all the big meetings happened and there a cat was and there she was found to be a sailor scout. The youngest Egeria had in hundreds of years. The senshi and her swinger there was suddenly a lot of expectations on the young girl.
Egeria woke up, her face tear stained as she looked round the lifeless house. It had been so different, her life back then and Lusie... She remembered the feel of her soft fur and her light weight on her shoulder.
"Lusie..." She let out a sigh and got up. She wanted to find ********* and that meant leaving her asteroid.
