The herd was large, with it's land expanding out to a point that not even Damian could fully patrol. But run it he did, and he kept a careful eye on everything that happened around him. His large leathery wings folded around his body, head held high, horns scared and scratched up to the point that it seemed not even a small patch of it was unscathed. His long mane moved along his head, and folded against one side, hanging by his body. He would find his way to patrol the entire area. But for now, he needed to go explore. Though usually he didn't mind staying within the herd, and making sure the fights went well, right now, he needed to keep in mind that he needed more members as well. With the passing of time, people seemed to drift off into death now. They had a great lack of healers, and without it, people lost their lives faster than Damian could count. Letting out a small grunt, the stallion ventured away from the herd lands, snapping at a young stallion to ensure no one ventures too close into their territory. And if they did, to ensure that they are kept with a careful eye on them, so that he can deal with the intruders himself when he gets back. Shaking out his mane, the stallion trotted away. His ears flicked with each noise, and his mind kept going from one thought to another. Damian's gaze crept along the green forest, the brown bark. He didn't mind seeing all this. It was different than the blood splattered ring of trees he was used to seeing. This place was actually slightly calm. But he didn't let his guard down, his tail flicking ever so slightly as he walked.

Isadora stood in a small clearing, intently looking at her hooves and wondering vaguely why she had decided to strike out on an adventure without her bat familiar, Umbra. Well here she was out in the forest and well enough alone that it was starting to bother her. Would her family just go about their business happily without her? She shook her thoughts away, they were not good thoughts to have while alone. Huffing and setting her jaw she looked about her and decided that she had made it this far, perhaps an hour or more and then she would turn back towards home. Which way to go then? She closed her eyes and picked a random color; blue. And then looked for the color among the foliage.
Eventually she found a small blue flower and decided that that would be the way she would travel. She stopped next to the tiny flower and smelled its faint but fragrant scent and smiled happily, she would remember it for when she came back and possibly take it to her mothers, they would like that. She giggled to herself, her unease ebbing away, she flicked her tail with giddy excitement and started off at a bouncy trot.

That was an odd sight to see. Damian had never really thought that he would see something so bright so close to his herd. It was blinding, almost annoying. He let his head tilt to the side, causing the blue of his mane to shift around his features, before moving to do a slight circle around the mare, making sure to stay within the shadows so that it wouldn't see him, so that the female wouldn't be spooked. And as he moved, he assessed the situation. She was small, very small. The stature of the other horse seemed almost like she would at least be five hands shoulder than he was. But of course he was a big horse.
Not only was she small, her hair was the brightest of pinks. He knew his own mane was a soft blue color, and it didn't really match his personality, but at the same time, he was still knowing that he had his own soft side. But again, that was against the point of what he was really trying to decide. Was she worthy to be taken back to the herd that he now ran? Was this bright colored mare worth it? Could she keep herself out of harms way? But even if she couldn't, Damian found a small spark of interest light in his brain. She was a lovely mare. With interesting markings. If she couldn't take care of herself, Damian could keep her as a prize.
Grinning to himself, and folding his wings tight against his back and sides so they were less noticable, Damian moved from the brush and started to approach the mare, his ears perked, eyes locked, and never really straying from where she moved. "It's called a moon flower... They grow only around here, from what I've seen." He commented, eyes locked on her, that grin still plastered on his face. Though most would see it as a smile, there was a plot in his mind. And it wasn't a good one.

Isadora froze mid-step when the low voice rumbled behind her. Ears forward and alert she turned to see a very large stallion, the color of a stormy sky, because that's what his coat reminded her of at that moment. She noted his leathery wings, and undaunted, her eyes traveled to a grinning face. Well that couldn't be all that bad. A smile flashed to her face in response, and she stepped closer. "Is it really?" She looked to the tiny flower, immensely dwarfed by the stallions size, and flicked her tail with interest. "It's quite pretty. Have you smelled them? Well you probably have...it has such a nice smell, like..the next morning after a storm."
Giggling at her comparison, and elated to no longer be alone in unfamiliar woods, she excitedly shifted all four hooves, and it brought her another smidge closer. Isadora was never good at personal space, though better at it than her mother, she was proud to admit. Tossing a section of hot pink mane from her face and out of her line of sight, she tilted her face back towards the stallion, eying his roughed up antlers before her gaze moved to his eyes. "I'm Isadora Fayth. But I know its long, so you can call me Isadora, if you'd like." She wrinkled her nose in another grin and couldn't suppress yet another short giggle.

Damian grinned wider. This female was a trusting one, it seemed. Hadn't her parents ever told her not to trust strangers; let along a partial Kalona. But, he wasn't complaining. On the contrary; he was highly amused. He lifted his head just a bit higher, his small tail flickering in interest, before he lowered his head slowly, until it was almost eye level with hers, but he was still taller, his ears perking up toward the females. Isadora Fayth? She had a lovely name as well. Before he thought about it, he stepped closer to Isadora, lifting his head, his muscles slightly quivering with excitement.
"Well, Issy, I think I'm quite intrigued. There are more flowers over where my herd resides. And who knows, you could probably find countless of them to pick and smell." He tilted his head some, grinning down at her, his eyes sparked with light and interest, the slight glow seeming to grow slowly brighter with the interest of a chase; a hunt; a fight. "My name is Damian. Just, Damian. It's a.. pleasure, to meet you, Issy."

Isadora's eyes widened at the idea of more flowers, it definitely caught her attention. She also wondered if perhaps they came in other colors, though who better to ask than the stallion who lived with them? Impulsively she grinned at him calling her 'Issy', it was cute and inventive. She liked it, and what was more, liked him to call her that. What ever that meant. She puzzled over it a moment before realizing she should say something, since he had introduced himself. Blushing and dragging herself out of her thoughts she cleared her throat. "Damian." She grinned, undaunted by his proximity, giggling some more, she dipped her head in a slight bow, remembering that it was proper, because that's what her cousin had told her. She blinked her bright eyes at the intense blue stare she was receiving and felt drawn in she became very aware of her heart beating just slightly faster..but with a mental shake she blurted out; "Do the flowers come in other colors?"

"....." The stallion tried not to snort. Tried not to suck in so much air that he actually choked. He closed his eyes, resisting the urge to just whisk her away now, before just shaking his head, and looked back at her, remembering to keep that plastered smile on his face. He walked a small circle around the female, one wing extending to trail against her back, before folding tight against his back once more, and he stopped alongside her, his head tilted down to stare at her, the smile switching to an almost alluring one.
With a slight nod, he extended his wing once more. Damian let it rest over her back, though it was almost in a controlling mano, as he started to walk forward, guiding her toward the herdlands. If anything, he could get her in there, and she could find the flowers that grew near the healing lands on her own. And over the next several days, he could ensure she wouldn't leave his herd. He walked with eased steps, knowing his way home well, his tail flicking, mind going over the possibilities of what he could do to her. "Of course. There are tons of flowers, of all sorts of colors." He stated, his voice a gravely purr.

Isadora followed Damian's circling her, curiosity keeping her attention fully on this rather enticing stallion. Her eyes darted to the wing running on her back and it caused goose bumps to burst out across her flesh and a slight blush to darken her cheeks. Looking up into his face when he stopped next to her caused her whole face to grow hot, she was sure her face was to be a different shade of purple by now, and noticeable. She wanted to turn her face and look down, for her hair to hide her blush. This of course was not in her nature though, so she held his gaze.
His wing was across her back and her heart was thundering, but of course, they were just going to see the flowers and he was just being friendly. Shaking herself she pulled out of the dream-like trance he managed to put her in. Where was her head? Getting away from her of course. Flicking her tail in excitement she started forward with Damian most willingly. "Tons?" A smile plastered its self to her face at the possibility. She could take some for her mothers and sister and possibly some to spare for her mane? The idea thrilled her and she giggled with even more excitement. "We can pick them and look for the most interesting colored ones!" She gushed in excitement, the possibility of him not picking flowers with her didn't even cross her mind, though he hardly seemed the type, if they were going to see flowers, why wouldn't he help? She let out a small squeak of excitement, and repressed the urge to bounce.

Damian smirked, the look actually turning the evil attitude he usually had. She was so easy. So easy to draw into his herd. Usually they at least put up a small fight. "I can't go with strangers" or "What about my family?". But no, this little mare was just oh so trusting. And he was delighting in it at the moment. Damian glanced down at her, his eyes sparking with great interest, before he moved to turn toward the herd. He walked slowly, so that she could keep up with him and his long strides. He could see the herd territory mark now. It was just a matter of a few more kilometers, and they would be there.
And she would be his.
Damian moved quietly, letting her be excited, letting her mind get the imagination running. But he had his plan in motion, and it was working wonderfully. He nodded toward a young stallion, the same one that had been patrolling the territory boundaries before. The young one eyed Damian, and then Isadora with a questioning look, before getting a somewhat excited look. It caused the older male to snort, and send a glare his way, which in turn caused the other stallion to back away. Damian shook his mane some, before heading toward the healing grounds. She wasn't going to be able to leave now. So long as she stayed for three days, at the least. He grinned. "You can pick them, sure."

Isadora was bubbling over with excitement. How often did she get to go on adventures and get to report back the tale? Hardly ever, since nothing interesting ever seemed to happen. But today it did and she wasn't going to let this adventure go without a fight. Or at least a few flowers. She grinned at the younger looking stallion they approached, but he must have done something naughty because Damian didn't seem pleased with him... Shrugging the thought away she looked about her, the scenery was quite lovely, and she wondered where the flowers possibly could be in such a lovely place. Probably some where marvelous.
"I can't wait to bury my nose in so many nice smelling flowers!" Something of a squeal and giggle combined escaped her and she was rather surprised at the sound, but laughed at herself. "Don't you just like the way the petals feel when they tickle your nose?" She scrunched hers for emphasis, and wiggled it.

Damian looked over, his eyes flickering to watch her. She was interesting, at the least. And seemed to realize when someone was in trouble. Shifting slowly, he made sure to stay away from the tight nit ring of trees off in the back of the herdlands. There was no reason to have her see witness to the blood covered trees just yet. Maybe at a later date, but right now, it was unneeded. Instead, he walked her in the opposite direction, his hooves crunching grass and sticks beneath his cloven hooves. Well look at that. She was just going to follow him willingly. This would be a piece of cake.
"Hm..? I wouldn't really know the feeling." His demeanor was going back to normal. His facial features shifted back to that serious, hard look. He had to be strong in front of his herd. He couldn't let himself shift into a soft appearance. So, his wing uncurled from around her, and he walked her behind a couple high rocks, and to a lush meadow with different colored flowers. At the moment, they were closed, but you could see every color as vividly as if they were open.

Isadora stood still for a moment, taking in the meadow polka-dotted with vibrant flowers. She had no comment for the scene infront of her, the slight wind bouncing along the tops of the grass, causing it and the flowers to sway and bend. She didn't comment when Damian took his wing away, though the wind felt just a bit cooler than earlier now and while she didn't shiver, goosebumps spread out across her skin. She moved for a closer look at the flowers, and slowly her smile diminished. Turning slightly she cast a slight disappointed gaze at Damian. "Is it normal for them to all be closed up right now?" Though she noted his facial expression too and stepped back to him, thinking he was worried for the flowers, misreading his seriousness. Perhaps the flowers were sick or dying? What could hurt a whole field of flowers like that? She tilted her head slightly, thinking and coming up with nothing.

Damian looked toward her, staring quietly. He tilted his head, before letting out a small grunt. Cloven hooves hitting the ground, but avoiding the flowers, he moved deeper into the field, his eyes flickering along every small surface of flower and grass. It was a simple statement. The only reason she had found the one flower already completely bloomed was because of where it was sitting. So, with a slight turn of his head he looked back over toward her and stared slightly. "They are moon flowers. They blossom in the night or the early morning. You caught one that was late at closing back up."

Isadora's face fell slightly. She could hardly pick closed flowers to share with her family. Seemed like her luck didn't stretch far enough for perfect flowers today. Sighing and trying not to be too down about the turn of events she turned her head. "I'm sorry if I made you waste your time by trying to show me these, perhaps if I had been quicker...?" She now felt as though she had spent too much time talking, when they could have gotten here sooner and possibly seen them before they closed. Perhaps she could make it up to him? But by doing what? Perhaps a game?
Turning to face Damian, and in better spirits, she trotted right up to him and pushed her nose into his shoulder, catching a masculine woodsy scent before she pulled quickly away, dancing away from his reach, giggling all the while and shouted; "Tag Damian!" Before leaping away some more, careful of the delicate flowers about her hooves. If it was one thing she was not, it was clumsy. She Might be goofy, and might be naive, but definitely knew where to place her hooves.

Damian looked over toward the mare. He watched her, eyes flickering. She seemed so let down. Well, they would bloom again, later this evening. She would just have to be patient. Shaking out his mane, he let out a small grunt, before shifting to nibble on a bit of the grass, his ears pinning some. It wasn't until he felt the nudge on his shoulder did he look up, staring at her as if she had grown a second head. Did she really just try and play a game with him? Confusion entered his eyes for a moment, before he lifted his head, weighing the possibilities.
In a sense, he could play the game. Damian would consider it training. Learning to be faster, dodge easier, catch his opposites. But on another hoof it was playing a game, and that wasn't... who he was. Shaking his head again, he closed his eyes for a second to think, before opening them and looked over toward Isadora. Staring with a small smirk moving onto his features, he surged toward her, hooves barely missing the flowers, before unfurling his wing quickly, and hit her on the back lightly. "Tag." He said cockily, before turning and dashing away from the nursing grounds.
