Daylight. It was one of the few times that Morkin really did enjoy wandering about the Flock territory. Though for the most part he didn't wander far away from the safe zone that the males that had yet to be claimed resided in. It was there that he was currently leaving, his head lowered some, trying to stay smaller than most the females that were actually about this afternoon. He was training to be an artisan; training to be more than what he was, so that someday someone would claim him for what he was there for. It was almost hard for him not to be useful. But, he was going to deal with it like any male could, and just continue living, breathing, for the Flock.

So on this day, Morkin wandered. He walked around quietly, his ears flicking some, his mind swarming around what he was going to do today. But nothing seemed to come to mind. He had tried to find his mother, but to no avail, since she seemed to be out of the territory. So, instead, he went looking for something to do. He could practice his dance, or even his song, since he'd learned he had a voice that was rather stunning. He just didn't use it often, in case the Harpies didn't like it. But, that was beside the point. Is eyes drifted, before locking on a stunning female that he didn't quite recognize. Was he so blinded by his thoughts that he didn't realize the Flock was expecting more foals to arrive?

Shaking out his mane of red hair and pink feathers, Morkin started toward her slowly, so as not to possibly startle her. Hopefully this wasn't a mistake that he was making.

Vanya relaxed under a tree, the sun too bright and hot for her liking. She rested her claws on her stomach, tracing patterns with the tips, gently enough so as to not scratch or cut herself. This was her days, mostly. Always relaxing, always sitting, never dancing or traveling far. Not that she complained. It was worth it, she mused fondly. Soon she would have children of her own; the most beautiful children of the flock. She had been working on trinkets while in her nest with the little bits and pieces she had. Only simple things, she couldn't do much without the Artisan's guild and Taarab.

Her days were sometimes filled with visits from her sisters, congratulating her, giving her wishes for healthy girls. Some gave her advanced support in the event she had boys. This was funny to Vanya. She didn't see a problem with having boys. They would have strong harpy genes and there would be more mares in the future. If every mare had mares herself eventually the flock would die out. That being said, a small part of her wanted at least one girl.

Vanya watched with lidded eyes as a male approached her. She had seen him around a few times, he seemed a little sheepish and had never approached him. But, my, he was being brave now. She smiled gently. "Yes?"

Morkin's ears perked up slightly, hearing her voice. He was shocked, honestly. She didn't sound like she was in any sort of rush, or worry. She didn't sound like the dominating women he was used to. He had caught glimpses of this mare about while he did what others told him, or when he was just walking back to the safe zone to relax. But he had never officially met her. And being she was harboring children of the Flock, he was quite curious why he hadn't. Perhaps it was due to not yet being in the guild, but he was certain, at some point, he would have had to of heard her name. He tried to recall it, but every time he did, nothing came to mind. It was an embarrassment, honestly. He prided himself in knowing all the Harpies. But this one... he just couldn't pull her name into his head. Shaking out his mane of feathers and red hair, Morkin inclined his head toward her, letting his ears lay back slightly as he did so.

"My apologize, Mistress.. I did not mean to intrude. Is there perhaps something I could do for you...? One such as yourself should not have to harbor the weight of straining too much." He stated lightly, his mind still trying to pull the name. It didn't matter too much; she was, after all, a Harpy. And in that, he respected her of the highest nature. Morkin lifted his eyes slightly, taking in her sight. She was lovely. He hadn't seen someone colored like so. He had, of course, seen birds with feathers like hers, but it never dawned on him that a Harpy would harbor those feathers. Taking a somewhat deep breath, Morkin let his eyes wander about her body one more, before letting them lock on her claws. It was usually the thing he stared at when speaking with the females, as he felt locking eyes with them sometimes could mean possibly getting lost in his own words. For some reason, the eyes of the females always seemed to draw his full attention, and when he did glimps, he forgot his words. And that was another thing Morkin didn't tend to like.

Letting himself remain calm, the stallion flicked his ears up, to better hear the mare. He remembered his manors, and of course, that he should be patient, even though he very much so wanted to help her if she happened to need it. His hoof lifted slightly off the ground, before touching back down, a small habbit he had when slightly nervous. He waited quietly, as best as he could, and let his mind stay as calm as possible. He wanted to please. And Morkin was good at doing so.

Vanya's eyes watched the stallion carefully. She had become more guarded during her pregnancy; she was protecting a lot more than herself now. Not that she feared this stallion or thought he would do her any harm. He was flock born; he knew the rules and accepted them better than captured stallions. It was simply instinct now and other mothers had told her it would happen and had shared stories of their own. One went into hiding until the foals were born, not even letting her sisters near her. Vanya wasn't like that, of course, but she was always ready for anything.

She listened to the stallion carefully. Help? She wasn't sure if there was anything she needed right now. Though.. She wouldn't mind working on some jewelry. "You can fetch the green pouch from my nest," she looked up, her nest directly above them. "And the blue and red ones, too." Ticking off things in her mind, she asked for one last thing. A rolled up leather pouch filled with tools. That too."

She watched the stallion carefully. "You should be careful who you ask to help next time. Some may take offense to it; think you're calling them weak. You know how we harpies are with our pride." She smiled softly. "You're lucky I don't worry myself with such things." She turned her attention back to her stomach, claws once again tracing patterns. "You can tell me your name when you return. Perhaps help me with my crafting. I hear you want to be part of the Guild."

Morkin's eyes flickered, watching her claw for a moment. She was caring, that was for sure. The stallion could tell by the way she moved; how she carefully let herself remain calm and where she was, taking care of her swollen belly. It made a slight smile flicker onto the stallion's face, before he glanced up toward her face momentarily. Beautiful. She was, by far, one of the most lovely Harpies he had seen. But he couldn't just stand there and not do as she said. She needed things. A green pouch, as well as the blue and red ones. And a leather one filled with tools. So she was going to be crafting something, he guessed. But he wasn't going to question it just yet, for now, he was just going to go and gather the material from the nest. He started to turn, but heard her voice, and his ears flicked up and then back toward the mare, listening to her words carefully.

"..." Morkin's ears flicked back slightly, staring toward where she was laying, before nodding his head lightly, and kind of bowed his head, eyes closing for a moment. "Sorry, Mistress... I did not mean to offend, or make it seem like I was saying something insulting." He nodded his head lightly at her last directions, turning his attention back forward. The half Harpy glanced up, eyes locking on the stares that led up toward her nest. He guessed she had put it in because of her pregnancy, and it would be too hard to move up the tree as such. So, this was was much easier, and since he didn't have claws, he would be able to get up there as well. Moving quickly, yet carefully, the stallion walked up the steps, before locating the four bags within the nest. He picked them up by the straps, carefully, and carried them back down, eyes flickering toward the ground. He had never been so high... He was always grounded, so the feeling of falling slightly made him nervous. He pushed it away though, and finally got back to the ground, not letting his nerves get the better of him.

Morkin walked quietly forward, setting the four bags down near the mare. He took a couple steps back, before lifting his head some, and stared down toward Vanya, his ears perked, body somewhat poised. He knew how to hold himself, and he was good at it. "My name is Morkin, Mistress. I am currently being set into training at the Guild. As a metal welder." He explained, eyes locked on her still. He was not going to show disrespect again. There was no way. He smiled some, eyes softening. He did love kids, and for some reason, since the mare was pregnant, he did feel a little more at ease around her, even though he barely knew her.

Vanya smiled softly as she watched the stallions ears flatten against his head. She was being cruel; teasing him, but when she was stuck sitting all day there was really nothing else she could do and in a way her words did hold some truth, just not with the majority and especially not with her. She knew she wasn't strong and knew walking up to collect her bags would strain her enough that she'd end up sleeping instead of coming back down. She wanted to get the trinkets finished in time for the arrival of her children.

Vanya lifted herself up a little, propping her back further up against the trunk so she was seated more. When the stallion returned, she checked over the bags, making sure he had gotten the right ones. Sure enough, he had, not that she doubted him at all. He seemed very eager to please, something that no doubt came in handy given his gender. Had he been blessed with claws, Vanya imagined the stallion would be well sought after given his willingness to please and do what was asked of him.

"Morkin.." she repeated his name, testing to make sure she pronounced it right. For a moment she was silent as she took everything to memory. Then she smiled. "My name is Vanya. No need to call me mistress." She picked up the pouch and unraveled it, tools of various shapes and uses tucked carefully into pockets or tied in place with leather straps. These were her personal tools; some she had made herself and others she had commissioned. They were small and the guild had a wider range, but they were hers and they were suitable for the task at hand.

"A metal welder, hm? That will come in handy. You'll be able to make all sorts of things." She eyed her pouch. "Perhaps you'll even be able to make me some more tools." She nodded towards the green bag. "Hand me the bracelets in there, will you? They're not complete so be careful, please."

Blue bag before her, Vanya reached down and pulled the drawstring with her claws, loosening it. She plucked out three gems, emerald in colour. All had been polished and cut to shape thanks to the help of the Artisan's Guild. "What made you want to join the guild? Was it to please the Flock or please yourself?" She eyed him curiously. "You can be honest. I'd advise it, actually. I'll know if you're lying."

Morkin's eyes flickered over toward Vanya. He watched her for several moments, before letting a small smile shift onto his features. He was... well, excited, really. He was glad that she was going to have baskets, and children. She seemed like the type to be a lovely mother. Beautiful, radiant. And that was just while he saw her pregnant. Tilting his head some, he leaned down to inspect the bags as she did, but kept himself a bit away, in a comfortable position. Ears flicking up toward the trees for a moment, he stared. It was exhilarating, to be up there. Really, it was. He never thought he'd be able to wander into the nest of a Harpy. Never thought he'd be in the trees. It was one of his dreams, and he got to achieve it today. Shaking the thought from his head, Morkin let his eyes lock back down on Vanya, ears perking at the order given.

"Of course, Vanya... If that is what you wish." He said, smiling lightly. His tail gave a slight flick, before he smiled. It seems that metal welding would be a great start of his future. He was excited to find out what all he could do, and for now, he was going to assist this lovely, pregnant mare. Flicking his ears up, he nodded his head and stared toward her, eyes full of a sort of hope and wander. "I am hoping it will be. I find that doing metal welding will mean I will be able to assist in many of the Flock's needs." He stated, before moving forward and opened the small green bag carefully with his mouth.

Letting his eyes flicker along the inside, Morkin glanced at the lovely three bracelets that continued to be in work. He sniffed some at them, before leaning forward, and gently picked the three up in his mouth, one at a time. He laid them out in front of Vanya, carefully, one by one. He made sure not to mess anything up, and moved as swiftly as he could at the same time. Lifting his head up when he finished, his eyes flickered over the bracelets. They were lovely. And not even complete yet. Ears flicking, Morkin let his eyes graze over toward where Vanya was, watching her pick the emeralds out from the bag. He blinked, staring lightly toward them, before the question hit his ears, and he glanced up to look at her once more, gulping somewhat.

"Yes, Vanya... I... For myself, at first.. I felt as if I was doing nothing to aid the Flock at all besides waiting to be needed... And I did not like waiting. So I took it upon myself to find something to do to make me better. I talked with Mistress Aqualina, and she suggested I help with the metal welding, since my lack-there-of claws makes it hard for me to do things that the clawed stallions can. This way, I will be able to help the Flock, and make myself all the better to aid the Harpies." He stated, staring down at her. He spoke the truth, as he would with any Harpy. He just hoped that she would find the answer sufficient, and if not, he would elaborate and speak his mind more.

Vanya listened to his answer to her question and smiled a little. Of course, given his lack of claws, he wouldn't be a well sought after male. But perhaps if he showed himself useful, another mare might notice his worth. She watched his movements, so meek and careful. He was quiet, playing the part of loyal male and that bothered her for some reason. Perhaps it was because she was so incapacitated; she hated feeling useless, hated having others wait on her. Vanya had a lavish lifestyle and an air of superiority around her, but she worked hard for most of her possessions. It bothered her when things were simply handed to her or done for her because of her looks or ranking.

She shook the thoughts away, she could not blame this stallion for doing what he was taught to do from the day he left his basket. It would only confuse him and cause troubles. She could, at least, loosen the leash around him. "You don't have to be so formal, Morkin. You're soon to be a worker and for that I hold some level of.. well I guess respect towards you." Her eyes drifted over to the safe zone. "At least you're making yourself useful in more ways than one. Rather than sitting around like a pig in a pen."

She picked up the first bracelet, placing it before her. Pulling a thin piece of wire from her bag, she held an emerald in her hand and began fastening the wire around it. She started by wrapping it around the edge and then moved on to making swirl patterns over the face of the emerald. When she was done, there was a small loop at the top. She placed it down and then moved on to the next.

"Speaking of duties to the flock," Vanya said, coyly. "Have you had any female..," she cleared her throat. Companionship? Or offers for such?"

Morkin's head dipped in a half nod to her statement. Yes, he was in deed a good stallion for the Flock. He knew it well. And though the lovely mare hadn't stated that, he knew that it was slightly implied. He never strayed far, and very rarely did he allow anyone to be under any sort of stress. Instead, he happened to offer to help, even the stallions. And for the longest time, he had sat around, like a pin in it's pen. He could remember the days upon days waiting, watching. The days of Harpies coming and pulling the other stallions from the safe zone, escorting them out to go on a walk, or perhaps be taken back to their nest. And each time, he had started to feel more and more lonely. It wasn't until recently did he realize his dream to do more, to be more. He had figured no Harpy would ever want him, really, so instead, he just did what he thought would be best for the Flock; best for him.

Realizing he was lost in his own thoughts, Morkn's eyes flickered, before locking on her for a moment. Formal? Yes, she had mentioned that as well. He honestly wasn't sure why he was so formal all the time. Even with other stallions. It was almost as if he didn't know how to relax. How to be at ease. But he was going to figure it out eventually. Smiling lightly, he nodded his head once more, before letting his eyes flicker along the claws that moved with a certain ease to them. She was so careful, so particular. She molded everything to where it fit just right. He admired it, honestly. He had always wished he could do something like that, but knew at the same time that trying to craft small pieces would never work, due to his hooves.

"I will try not to be so formal... it's just my nature, I suppo-" And she caught him off guard. Morkin could have swore his fur around his cheeks turned four shades brighter, his eyes widening some in shock. He had never discussed anything like this before. Coughing some to clear his throat, the stallion's ears pinned back, before he took a half step away from her, and then tapped his hoof, half nervously, half unsure what to say. "I... Um... N-No, Vanya... I have never.. never um..." And suddenly he felt like he couldn't even speak. Shaking his head once more, the stallion glanced at her almost timidly, eyes locked. "Um... No... I haven't... had that... honor, yet..."

Vanya laughed at his reaction; it had been as funny as she had hoped. Poor Morkin; so sensible, so shy and polite. She had taken him completely by surprise; poked at his comfort zone carefully enough to not scare him off, but enough to shock him. When she had regained her calm, she wiped tears from her face and sighed, chuckling a few more times. "My apologies, Morkin. I was just teasing. 'Tis a shame you've not had any opportunities. Some of my sisters don't realise a good thing until it's too late." She shrugged. "Nevermind that! Plenty of fish in the sea, eh? Plenty of birds in the trees in this case, I guess." She snorted again, shaking her head.

Vanya's attention turned back to her work and she was serious again, brows knitted as she worked metal into a filigree design. Her claws worked swiftly, but carefully and she'd done this so many times that it had come to be second nature. She was forming the design before it came to her mind, claws working expertly.

"Everyone's time comes," she mumbled from her work. "You should only start worrying about it when your hair is gray and your feathers fall out."

His body now feeling a bit warm, Morkin's ears flickered. He let out a deep breath, one that he didn't realize he had been holding. His ears snapped up some, facing toward her. And she was laughing. He was embarased, and unsure what to really do. Shifting almost uncomfortably, the stallion gulped back the lump in his throat. Why did he let such things effect him so much. His head tilted somewhat, red feathers and pink hair shifting a bit in his face. When she spoke again, Morkin's ears flickered up, and he lifted his eyes to watch her curiously, his heart kinda pounding.

"Yes... It is, I suppose. I am a patient man though. I will not give up hope.. if I do not have to." Morkin murmured, his voice softening. He watched her curiously, eyes flickering, moving with the design of the metal. It was so intriguing, so enticing. He was almost memorized, until she spoke again. Lifting his eyes, he watched her with a quite admiration, before nodding his head in agreement. At least he still had hope. Eventually he would be able to serve a Mistress as he wished. But for now, he was content helping where he could.

Vanya sucked in a breath and winced a little, the foals inside her active now more than ever, much to her ribs' dismay. Another kick to her side and this time she let out a cry, placing the metal she was working with to the side and resting clawed hooves on her stomach.

"Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow." She grumbled through gritted teeth. "I'll be happy the day they're out. For more reasons other than the joy of having children."

She closed her eyes, breathing deeply, claws tracing lines on her stomach as she tried to relax and wait it out. For the time being, she needed a distraction and talking to the stallion was as good as any. "Are there any sisters you would prefer?" She half opened her eyes as she spoke, speaking in a hushed, husky voice.

Morkin went on full alert. She made a noise that triggered him to go into somewhat dotting stallion mode, even though these were not his children. He didn't like when mares made noises of pain or discomfort, or anger. Shifting forward quickly, Morkin dropped his head down to peer at her rather seriously, his eyes lingering from her eyes, down toward her stomach where she seemed to be in pain. He wished he could understand the pain, but of course, could not. Instead, he wanted to try and find a way to comfort her; to help her pass by any time that could be caused from the foals kicking and struggling. Shifting carefully, he moved back away from her, circled around, laying down carefully near her, but not so close as to impose.

"I can only imagine the pain that they cause. Though I have heard rumor that the more pain that they cause the mother, the more they will full fill in their lives. I have heard it means that they have the energy and willpower to achieve the greatest of feats." Morkin stated, his head giving a slight nod toward her, before he tilted it slightly to the side, eyes locked, curious.

When she asked her questions, he felt his cheeks warm again. A mare that he could pick? Well, he couldn't really do any picking, right? He was the stallion after all. Though he had grown fond of Mistress Aqualina. Shaking his head quickly, making the thought leave him just as fast as it had come, Morkin let his eyes lock on Vanya once more, staring toward her with the utmost respect and honor. "No... No, I do not think so... I cannot chose who wishes to have me, Vanya. Though I can say that there are some Mistress' that I prefer the company to over others." Even the thought of Aqualina brought a light smile to his face.
