Tafari had been searching diligently for Lions carrying a special coin. So far, no results. He was far from disgruntled however. This was a great challenge! One that would have an incredible sense of accomplishment when completed.

High noon and the sky was a sparkling mirror image of the waters below. Waves crashed into the coastline rhythmically as a breeze rushed over land in their wake. Tafari stretched his wings as far as they would go. A wide grin covered his face. Light tan paws moved in a lightning-like fashion as he ran over the waves, leaping over the more taller ones, and continuing his pace over the smaller one.

Tafari scanned the beaches and cliffs on the side in case there was another lion to inspect for the coin. It shouldn't be too hard with this sun to catch even the smallest shine offset on the land, right?

A series of eight bells rang out loud against a broad chest as Ning loped along the packed, damp sand of the coastline. He had yet to obtain any lions to subject to his order and build himself a crew but he was slowly working his way into the know of the pride. He wanted his name to haunt the minds of his enemies, the bells around his neck to cause them to jump every time the sweet sound broke the silence. It wasn't easy- in fact it was more or less a tall order but one he was gladly occupying himself with.

He'd patrolled the borders and some distance beyond, hoping to find some witless rogues to grab for himself. If they were bold enough that was.

*ching-ling* Tafari's ears twitched and again when he heard the sound again. From the corner of his eye he caught the flash of gold and with it about the largest mortal lion he had ever seen. Interesting markings to boot.

Tafari turned toward the beach immediately. Upon touching the sand his mortal disuse was raised giving him the appearance of a young adolescent lion. He had to have been a little more than half of that lion's size! This was going to be fun. And if he had one of those coins, all the better.

The rest of the distance was lobbed at a believable speed, to help the illusion along.

"Hey!" He called. One had to respect a lion that had such big bells.

Thalion 5:17 pm
Ning tensed and lifted his head, fierce eyes narrowing against the glare of the sunlight. He'd not scented anyone nearby... and it was a rare thing to catch him off-guard. Massive shoulders tensed and solid paws gripped the ground as a pale stranger came striding his way.

...no one ran at him.

Rather than welcome the lion with a grin or a soft word, he turned and threw a roar of warning his way. Any stranger approaching at that pace best mind themselves.

"What're you wanting?!

GunSniper 5:23 pm
Sand kicked up all about Tafari as his paws were thrust forward and feet kicked up. He came to a complete stop a good thirteen feet away from the massive lion. Tafari's eyes brightened. This one seemed to be fun.

"You wouldn't happen to be carrying a coin with you?" He inquired with a slight tip of his head.

His paws back themselves up so he would be standing with a good posture. Arms spread wide enough that they wouldn't tangle over one another should he be forced to leap in any direction.

Thalion 5:34 pm
Ning chuffed and squared off his jaw as the young upstart came to a complete stop in the sand, leaving a pair of long lines in his wake. Good. At least the scamp knew who was boss here.

His nose wrinkled up at the odd request. A coin?

"Got plenty of 'em. You won't be getting them off me just by askin' nice though. That's not how it works around here."

"I'm not lookin' to take it." Tafari shook his head than with a claw sketched a symbol in the sand, a line over a dot with a blob next to that. "I have a friend looking for some friends she gave a coin too. Not sure how big it would be, she says the coins can change size depending on the holder."

He took a step back from the scribble in the sand. Judging this guy, the coin must have been massive.

Thalion 5:45 pm
Ning grunted and took a few strides forward. Silver eyes filled with suspicion dropped down to the symbol in the sand. He turned his head one way and then the other, his maw creasing up as a frown crossed his features.

"Never seen anything like that, kid."

GunSniper 5:54 pm
Tafari stood his ground even as the other lion approached. He couldn't help but be impressed by how he carried himself.

"damn..." It would have been fun to bring this guy back. "Well, thanks for the help than."

He lifted a paw and begun to turn, but paused in mid step. "... I have ta know, before I go... What's with the bells?"

Thalion 6:02 pm
Ning stepped back, confusion replacing the defensive anger. This one was an odd one but at least he didn't mean any harm. He seemed to know his business and conduct it in a respectful way at least. He'd not drawn a single claw or bared his teeth- so he got a pass in and out.

As the stranger turned to leave Ning stood his ground. He was suprised when the youth questioned his adorned choice in jewlery.

Smirking, Ning reached up to flick one of the over-sized bells. "Fair warning." he answered. Short and simple.

GunSniper 6:10 pm
Tafari's chest puffed at his response. This guy had to have been on the top if his awesome people list.

"Fair war- Ohhhh!" Tafari gasped. The grin returned to his face. Clever. "We'll have to meet again. You seem like you'd do good in a competition... I think I have something in mind."

And with that he turned and essentially vanished as he took to the sky. He had other busyness to attend to before he could engage in a competition with such a lion.
