A breather, that's all she needed.
Just a moment, a short time to be away, to sit down, and try and clear her head.

It had been one extraordinary day, one that didn't seem to stop until a few hours ago.
Ever since Frost and her had gotten that signal from the Galactics, everyone had been running around and doing their part to find answered... and it seemed to have payed off... seems to have

They had the Galactic member in their custody now, he said he knew how to find the air ship, and that he would only talk to the Boss.
there had not been any news yet, though the rumors were spreading like wildfire.
The tension was getting to everyone.

That's why Faleen had to get away.
Her body was tired, her mind was exhausted, not just after today, but after the week of working, working, working so hard to get to this point.
All the long nights were taking a tole on her.
There were dark rings under her eyes, her hair had a frayed look to it, and her uniform was smudged with grease, dirt and ash from the work of the day.

It was night, the air was cold, and crisp, it helped wake her up a little more.
The Agent was sitting on the steps outside of the HQ front entrance, her arms crossed over her knees as she leaned against them, half lidded eyes staring out into the darkness, where she could occasionally pick out the fleeting forms of her dark types, out enjoying the darkness.
They deserve it after being so good about being locked up for so long.

One Pokeball, charred and cracked sat next to her hip on the steps, unopened.

In her hand, she held a pare of glasses, the pare that Alphard had given her before they took off.
The pare she was supposed to give Elite Hayes when they found him.

Faleen wasn't the only one who'd gone out for some quiet time, some time to just think and to attempt to relax.

It wasn't really working out that way.

Odette touched down not far from the entrance, and Claire slid off the pidgeot's back with a sigh. Flying at night was far more dangerous than during the day due to decreased visibility, but the moon shed more than enough light to make it possible. Not that the agent would have cared, really - flying was the only time she could really think about things, and after today she needed to think.

A flash of red pulled the bird back into her pokeball, and a flash of white released a chubby pikachu. His ears twitched once before he clambered up his trainer's side to perch on her shoulder, able to see much better in the dark than both his human and her pidgeot. Not as well as other Pokemon perhaps, such as dark-types, but better than a human or a bird, at least.

As Claire headed back to the entrance, she didn't notice the dark-types, but she did notice the other agent. She paused, eyebrows raising slightly. Obviously she didn't expect to find anyone else out and about at this hour. "Faleen," she greeted, extending a hand as she moved to sit beside the other agent on the wide steps, "what are you doing out so late?" Well, it wasn't that late, but the sun had long since disappeared behind the horizon and the only light came from the crescent moon overhead.

The dark types in the desert saw the other rocket, but the various pokemon kept a wide berth, despite watchful red eyes gleaming dimly from all sides.

Claire was left to her return to base uninterrupted, until the other Rocket caught sight of Faleen.
One of the dark shapes slipped forward silently, slowly reviled in the low light of the HQ entrance as an Umbreon trotted toward Faleen.

the blond Agent, having been jarred from her thoughts by the sudden sound of her own name, lifted her posture.
Claire was greeted with a moment of surprise.
"Ah, Claire."
She straightened a little more, placing the glasses down on her knee so that she could reach out with the proper hand back toward the other Agent.

"There is a lot to do in the Lab tonight, so I'll probably be up for a while yet, I'm just taking a moment to catch my breath after everything."
She knew Claire was fully aware of what she was talking about, Claire had been there herself.

Hazel eyes studied her fellow rocket "Were you still out on your scout?" She asked.

Claire pulled in a deep breath and let it out in a slow sigh as she sat down on the steps next to Faleen. "No, I'm not," she admitted, running her fingers through her hair a few times to smooth it down. Flying wasn't very good for hair... "I've been taking a break.. I've been flying a lot every day. I think it's been wearing her down quite a bit, so I figured she'd like a break. That and a Pidgeot's eyesight is excellent, just... not at night." And she really had no intention of crashing tonight.

"Also it seems that Star is going to tell us where to find them... But in a week," she said with a deep frown, leaning back a bit. Clearly waiting a week wasn't sitting that well with the dark-haired agent. "I guess we don't really need to keep searching for them, but..." But a week? What if they could find them before Star could tell them in a week?

Zeus was obviously uninterested in the conversation, and he hopped off her shoulder onto the step before continuing onto the sand. Unlike his trainer, he knew the dark-types were there before Umbreon came forward to stay by his trainer.

Faleen watched as Claire took a seat, nodding softly to what her fellow Agent was saying.
"I see..." She replied, looking back at her knees for a moment.
"Continuing the search might be a good idea anyway... who knows, maybe we can turn up something that can help sooner." She added with a gentle shrug.
"In any case, right now I think we can at least let ourselves breathe... at least for a second."

They still didn't have the Rockets back, she was sure they wouldn't be able to breath.
turning her head when she noticed Umbreon stepping up next to her, she reached her hand out to gently pet the dark type, running her thumb over his forehead marking.

"That's what I keep hoping," the agent said with a sigh as she leaned back. Her frustration with the situation was slowly growing. "I just don't think we'll find anything..." Was the airship even on Kodo? Most likely it wasn't, though she couldn't even begin to guess where else it would be. Some region... somewhere. Arceus...

"For now, I suppose that's all we can do.." Especially since Odette couldn't really fly at night - not safely, anyway, and she had no intention of gravely injuring herself attempting to find Au-- ah, the missing Rockets. ...s**t, who was she kidding? She missed Aulus, and the fact he'd been taken by the Galactics, of all people, and they were probably doing horrible things to him - all of them - and she really didn't want to think of that... At the very least they'd been (supposedly) confirmed to be alive and (mostly) well, so that.. that was at least something, right? How much could happen in a week?

The chubby Pikachu flopped onto his rump on the sand before he stretched a hind leg up to scratch at his ear, watching Faleen interact with her Umbreon out of the corner of one green eye. Dark-types. He didn't trust them.. Houndooms especially, but luckily the other agent didn't have any of those. At least... he didn't think she did.

Faleen shook her head, to show that she agreed with the other Agent, As much as Faleen didn't really want to just throw in the towel for now.
She hated not having any means of helping.

"I suppose from here, we just need to focus on being ready when the time comes." She looked over at Claire.
"I'm sure there will be a mission team organized before the week is up."

Umbreon glanced at the Pikachu when he noticed the electric type looking at him. Her frowned slightly, keeping close to his master as she stroked his ears.

"I suppose so," Claire said with a heavy sigh after a long, thoughtful pause, a pensive frown evident on her features. Violet eyes were watching Zeus without actually truly watching him, it was more like she was looking past him than actually directly at him. Mention of a rescue group seemed to pull her back into her thoughts as she straightened up, her expression clearing and becoming more alert as she focused on Faleen again. "I hope so, I can't wait to see when they'll organize it. I really--...oh, I don't..."

A sudden thought seemed to strike her then, causing her words to falter and halt altogether as her brow furrowed. Violet eyes dragged their gaze back onto the chubby Pikachu near her feet just as he lifted his head to meet her eyes. Sometimes she couldn't help but wonder if he was more intelligent than she gave him credit, with the way he looked at her sometimes. Right now was one of those times.

Claire had started a though, but it was cut off and she let the statement fade out without finishing.
this caused Faleen to sit up a little more, looking over at Claire, tucking some of her hair behind her ears, while the other hand remained on her knee, holding the glasses.
"You don't?" She spoke in an inquiring tone.

Her mouth opened, her brow furrowed again, and her mouth snapped shut. One hand moved upwards, her fingers covering her mouth while her elbow rested on one knee, violet eyes focused on the sand a couple feet away. It was obvious that whatever thought had struck her was an important one. "Well," she began slowly, "it's just... They're being held in the Galactic's base, aren't they...?" Because where else would they be? That's where they were when Star saw them, and she couldn't think their missing Rockets would be moved in so short a time. "I just.. I don't know if I could..." Flashbacks of the botched mission to the outpost flashed through her mind again, bringing back the memories and the nightmares she'd had, the sudden and acute fear that had built itself up into an almost debilitating issue while they were stuck in that cave with Tethys and Deimos for several hours. She had been so sure, so sure that Tethys would recognize her and shoot her on the spot. It had been luck that she hadn't then, could she count on that now? Probably not.

Faleen watched her fellow Agent as she tried to organize her words, something she seemed troubled about, or unsure how to bring up.
Being one of the few in HQ that knew the secret of Claire's past,, Faleen was able to assume she knew what Claire was meaning to say.
"You think it might bring more dangerous to the team then it would be helping?" She offered.
PostPosted: Mon Apr 02, 2012 12:30 pm

Claire hesitated again, her purple-colored eyes locking onto curious green ones. No, it wasn't so much curiosity as it was concern, as much as the chubby electric-type tried to hide it. Claire reached a hand down to scratch his head behind his ears. "It might," she said finally with a sigh, frowning at the brown tips of Zeus's ears. "I don't know who might recognize me, and then I would become a target. Well, everyone would be at that point, but I guess I might be a higher priority target or something.." She didn't sound proud of this thought at all, and rightly so - her tone indicated that it frightened her more than anything else. "I'm pretty sure I wouldn't make it out alive if I went.. That or they would target others on the team just to be spiteful, since that's obviously something they like to do."

Those bastards.. She didn't even want to try to imagine what terrible things they were doing to their teammates, to Aulus.. They had to get them back. Had to. But she couldn't help but wonder if her aversion to the rescue mission was out of concern for the team, or if it was just that fear of Tethys resurfacing again. One thing was for certain though, the base would have a lot more people on it, and every single one of them could potentially recognize her. She didn't know who was still there that she knew, because some of them did try to leave in the uprising.. And not all of them made it out alive like she had. It was a rather morbid train of thought, if anything.

Faleen nodded in understanding "A history like yours would bring up much reason for you to be concerned." She said "even if it wasn't the case, I'm sure it would be wise to not be in such a state of mind while on a mission like this."
One needed to keep their composure, and a level head to be as efficient as they could on missions, Claire was making it sound like she would have a difficult time not letting the environment affect her.

"You sound like you really want to go though..." Faleen noticed, with a soft tilt of her head
PostPosted: Mon Apr 02, 2012 1:22 pm

Again Claire opened her mouth to speak, paused, and closed it. Faleen was right, it would be a poor choice to go on the mission when she was so scared of Tethys. While she wasn't a coward by any means, it could still affect her judgement and behavior, and that would be mortifying as well as potentially harmful to the team as a whole. No, it would be better if she stayed behind.

...and yet...

"I do," she said slowly with a sigh, "I really do want to go.. Just... I've been so worried about our missing teammates.." But more specifically, worried about Aulus. Mostly Aulus, actually. "What about you?" She asked suddenly, turning her gaze (and the conversation) to Faleen instead.

What she suspected was correct, Faleen knew that there were many Rockets in HQ who wished they could do more for the team, Rockets like Faleen herself.
But it wasn't always as simple as that...

At Claire's question hazel eyes remained rested onto purple, before she too gave a gentle nod.
"After losing Agent Aila to the Galactics, its been a little difficult not to imagine what could happen to our team mates... its extremely worrisome." She finished, her hands clenching a little.
