Tori heading off to the life labs as she had been neglecting her duties to learn more about her own division in the midst of her training with Aklin to were she could better wield her weapon. To not fail more like she had on her last mission. Once at the labs, she quickly went to an open computer to read up on the information she had access to. Tori knew the basics of her division did and she did have to wonder was there more information that she could get a hold of or was it the type of information she have to earn to know more and then who to talk to. Right this second Dr. H was out of the question as she was a little afraid to ask him questions as she didn't want to get shot in the head for asking the wrong questions.

Aklin suggested since he was being good at not asking is own questions.

That is true and she is very nice too, well except when she is pissed off.
She replied remember what had at Christmas time vaguely and Clarice had been nice to work for when Conquest was being questioned.

Tori just nodded in agreement to her partner as she got up from her chair and headed off to Clarice’s office was. Once there she gave the door a nock to see if she was around. "Miss Clarice are you in?" Tori said politely as she waited for a reply.

The Life assistant was at her desk, but the work she was doing wasn't the sort that required too much immediate concentration, so her voice was pleasant when she responded, "Yup, come on in." The monitor displayed a 3-d rendering of the Deathsweeper chamber, as Clarice spun in her chair to greet the trainee, a tiny digital Death hunter got their legs chopped off by a buzzsaw.

Smiling brightly, she continued, "Victoria, right?" As the little hunter on the screen behind her bravely tried to crawl to safety, a gang of badgers emerged from a nearby panel and dragged the body offscreen.

Hearing Clarice call her inside and took a deep breath to calm herself were she wouldn't be too nervous once inside. Tori opened the door and walked in and saw what Clarice was doing on the computer and found it interesting but that wasn't why she was here for.

"That is right and I also go by Tori as well," she replied politely and smiled a little and trying not to be nervous the best she could. "Umm, Miss Clarice," Tori said a little nervous at trying to find the right words. "I want to know more about our division than what I have learned so far, please?"

Lifting an eyebrow, Clarice gave a friendly, "Sure! Always good to see a trainee take an interest beyond the basic duties. But I don't want to be redundant, so what have you learned so far?" The first few months they usually let trainees do their own thing between missions, and Victoria was generally a fairly quiet one.

Tori gathered her thought on Clarice's question and she had to not listen to Aklin trying to put his own input to what she had been doing. "I have been reading up on knowing at least the basics on as many Halloween creatures that I can and read up myths and legends that I'm not familiar with to see if there is a same creature are in Halloween as well, with notes included," she answered as Aklin snickered at her for all her reading. "I started to read up on the basic rune tech in the manual and have reading up on the mini pets," Tori added and thought to herself that she would visit them later and no Aklin she didn't need to hear your input on them.

Nodding along, Clarice stepped her fingers and considered York's reply. After a few moments she smiled in approval, "That's a very good base to have as a trainee, and I think it's something you should continue to build on. Life hunters eventually begin to specialize, working specific areas of research, development, and sometimes collaborating with Moon when it comes to medical treatments. But as a trainee, you'll not only have the luxury to try a little of everything, you'll also be spending a lot more time in the field."

The assistant began writing on a piece of notepaper. "These are a few books on symbolism, ancient and modern. You may want to look at them for a better understanding of runes, and the basics of developing new ones. We generally don't give trainees access to actually code and create Runic tech until they rank up within the division," she gave the girl a small, wry smile. "We have the highest transfer request rate after the Mists, and hunters are not above division politics. But this last book has information on the older method of creating runes. Lots of meditation and chanting with fairly unreliable results, but it's good to try it at least once, and it's a method available to anyone."

She paused and worried at the end of her pen, "Have you beaten the Life Arena yet? What's your highest score?"

"Alright I can do that," Tori replied as she made a mental note to herself to keep on doing what she was and do a little more as well.

Listening carefully to what Clarice was telling her as those books sounded so very interesting. "Oh I didn't know that, but I want to give it all of what I got to try hard to fit in to this division," she said with a little smile as she was going to try her hardest to show that she did have worth and she wasn't surprised about there being division politics as she was use to at least social ones and wondered if it was going to be similar, but she did mind politics all that much she knew that she was on the bottom and was alright with it.

"Ummm, I haven't beat it yet," Tori replied sheepishly as that should have been something that she should have already beaten. "I will do that very soon," she promised.
