Well besides sewings what other skills do you feel is a must have nowadays to finish a cos?

Patience for sure. Especially if you're new to cosplaying. You're probably going to mess up a lot, maybe p***k a finger or 10, and it might not turn out exactly the way you imagined it, but don't give up!

Also I guess attention to detail, depending on how good and how much time you plan to invest in making the costume.

I'd probably add geometry and basic math when you're trying to figure out patterns for cloths, cosplay weapons, and armor.

I would probably also say soldering if you're into electronics.

Wig or hair styling and knowing how to dye / bleach properly.
Make-up is a must for like half the characters including males.

i've been seeing al lot of cosplays with leds lately. not too sure if some are overdone though

about 90% of those armored costumes here are made out of EVA foam.
