((The following text takes place over several periods of time))Who was she?
The question she had been asking herself for the last...gods knew how long. How much time had passed scince she left? She left. She had left everyone and everything. How could she?
Did it matter? Not like she had family. Not like she had friends. She didn't have anyone. Except...
Him.
Did he miss her? More importantly, did she miss him? She had left. What if he moved on? What if he found someone else? Did she even care? She didn't know anymore. Before, her emotions were far too confusing, too new, too raw, for her to even guess what she felt towards him. And lately...lately it was a blessing to feel anything at all. A heavy, thick fog of nothing had settled around her. She was numb. She forgot who she was. She couldn't breathe.
And speaking of darkness...
She had been wandering this thick, overgrown forest for...again, time seemed to escape her. An long time, surely. Her eyes were of little help. No, this was a place designed to test all the senses. Occasionally she would find a patch of light. Starch sunshine momentarily blinding, then leaving her eyes to adjust once more to the unending shadows. What was this place? Was she dead? Purgatory? Hell was supposed to be fire, pain and anguish. Heaven peace and joy. Had she died? She was already dead inside, was to too far a streach for her to have just died one day without her realisation? She had always thought she would go straight to hell...but then...then...That Perma. That Male. Her sort-of-but-way-too-small-to-actually-be-counted tribe. Perhaps this was their doing. Soften her heart so she ended up here. In purgatory. There was a tingling of...nothing, it was gone already. What had she been thinking about again...?
Darkness.
The dark...She loved it before. Reveled in it. Why? Her memories were so faded...ah! Fear. Not hers, but that of others. How it made them squirm. How she loved to watch them do so. Such maliciousness, such hatred, where had it gone? And if it truely was, what had replaced it? Maybe it had never left, tucked away deep inside the empty hollow that had been her soul.
Her feet continued wandering...and her mind slowly quieted...
Breathe.
Remember.
Who was she? She wanted to be like before. Before before. She had grown far too docile, far too blank. She wanted rage. She wanted to be feared. She...She wanted! For the first time in forever she had wants again! The vixen sat by a pond (huh, she had only just realised she was by a pond), staring at the water. The stranger reflected...was that really her? Skin clinging to bones. Dead eyes that once held so much fire. Dirty and scruffy. A few of her mods had succumbed to minor infections, while the rest were caked in grit.
She discusted herself.
Discust...loathing...rage. She clung to it, fed it. Nothing was going to tear it away from her. Maybe this time it wouldn't slip away. Maybe this time she could hang on. She was taking back her self, her being. Slowly...so slowly. Perhaps too slowly. Perhaps she needed to jump start it.

What was he? He was unsure these days. Unsure of what had happened to him, or if he liked it. Unsure if he was alright with these changes, and with his new life. He had children, this caused a rare swelling in the heart. Yet, he had never told his kids he loved them, never even told his mate he loved her. Ever. He never needed to. They knew. As well as Yuki, Ixen, and their children. They all knew, yet he could never and would never bring himself to say those three disgusting words.
Never. He was lucky his mate was just like him. They both showed their emotions with actions, never words. It was their life-style. Yuki was softer, but he understood Sin's emotions and the way he showed them.
His eyes drifted to the side as he padded in the forest. Ever since the kids grew he had started to explore more. He didn't know why, but he needed to move. He'd always return to Lamia, he'd never ditch her. Never.
His paws hit the ground silently. He couldn't smell well, so he had learned to use the ability of hearing and silence as best as he could. He heard a fox nearby, moving away from the sounds. Before, as a younger adult, he'd seek them out and rip them apart. Now? His violent streak was duller. It still lurked, but only if provoked. He was not the serial killer anymore. He was not the one to murder a fox anymore, tearing out their throat and watching through narrow eyes as she bled out. No. Sin was not that man anymore.
Perhaps he was on the path of redemption? His life had been cruel to him, his father abusing him and mother hating him until he murdered them and his fathers mistress. He had lost his tribe. The few good things had changed him, though. Finding his half brother, Yuki, and raising him. Raising Ixen. Ixen and Yuki having children. Meeting Lamia and having children. His niece becoming an Elder. These things pushed him just a little further to becoming a better man.
Though, not perfect. Perfection was disgusting.
Yet, his mood was vicious at the point. Nyx, his daughter, had two children by accident. He had yet to meet these children, or the father, and he was ready to rip apart the father. His blood was boiling, yet his body was not displaying this rage.
Yet, he did want to rip apart something.

She could smell him.
An unfamiliar scent, but definitely male. Hm. That left Ariel with two choices. She could ignore the new smell, continue to sit here and contemplate how utterly pathetic she was with her current identity crisis, or perhaps continue her pointless wanderings in this godforsaken forest...or she could follow.
In the end curiosity won (and doesn't it always?) and she was in persuit. Ariel was frustrated. She was angry. She was so, so utterly sick of herself. She did not seek the light. To be some some naughty pet that was trained out of it's devilish habits. And yet that was what she was becoming. What she let herself become.
So, what? Her plan was to take out all her self-loathing on a stranger? This was the miracle cure to plunge her back into the old ways of blood and sadism? ********, what a brilliant idea! She ought to win a prize!
It was at that moment of doubt she caught sight of the stranger. And her sanity all but flew out the window.
"Oi! You there! Tall, dark and brooding!"
Perhaps she had misjudged the situation. Strong male by the looks of it. Were those splatters of red part of his coat or....? She sat, tail wrapped neatly around herself, waiting. If she were to provoke him, what were the chances she would win? Ah, but that was all part of the thrill, wasn't it? She might lose. She might severly injure herself. She might die.
Death? Hah, she didn't care anymore. She was already dead inside. The savage beast she so prized had been slain. A smile made it's way onto her face. So, she would die a warroirs death, would she? That was more her style. Not sit around and rot while mini-Ariels annoyed the s**t outta her.
"You-hooo! Don't be a b***h, come on, I'm just looking for a good time, that's all."
Of course her definition of a 'good time' might be different than this male's...
((Heh, pretty sure this one's got some sort of death-wish XD))

At the sound of another voice his head raised, eyes narrowed. A woman was speaking to him, yet as he viewed her she looked like no woman he'd enjoy associating with. Something was wrong with her eyes, something that reminded him of his earlier life. Of that time where reason was still asleep, and anger had taken over. Coldly he viewed her, his padding stopping as he regarded her with narrowed eyes. And then suddenly, like a bird, his head twitched, cracking as he did so.
Yet, as he viewed the vixen his eyes narrowed even more, haunting her. What was so different? No. Just by looking at her memories flashed, just by viewing her. This woman... She was far to much like he had once been.
Finally, after staring, after giving her a cold, indifferent gaze, he approached her. His body moved gracefully despite how muscular he was, touching the ground silently. His eyes stayed narrowed, black orbs hiding an emotion that he had thought once was dead. What was it? A predatory emotion. He was angry, bitter, and something inside him lurked, clawing at it's chambers. Something he had spent years chaining back.
'Don't be a b***h, come on.'
Ha. Those words would have provoked the beast that ached when he was younger, yet now? Now he merely offered a smile, cruel and malicious. His tongue ran across his canines, almost as if tasting the hostility. Something was pushing back who he was before, something more savage, something sick of being pressed into the corner like a bad child.
"Are you alone?" Was all he said, his words chilling to the bone as he circled the vixen. He could fight with Lamia or his children, yet those fights were different. He'd never murder them. He'd never break them. No.
But he could break a stranger.

She supressed the urge to shiver. It only made her all the more egar to tear him apart. Piece. By. Piece. Her smile grew more malicious, an ember bearing the promise of pain glowing in her eyes. Yes. Better, much better. Ariel remained motionless, tilting her head as he circled. Like a shark. Too bad sharks weren't that bright.
Ariel's eyes traced their way along the male, analyzing. Burly. Most likely relying on brute stength more than anything. Muscle was heavy. Her advantage would lie in agility if nothing else. And she would have to be fast, too many blows and...
Finally she met his face. Something slithered behind them. Something deadly. Lovely. Was he so different than she? Perhaps not. Perhaps if she cut him open she might find the same withered heart. Either way it would be fun to find out.
Ariel blinked "And if i am...?" She chuckled, tail flicking underneath his chin, then just as quickly darting away in a mock-caress.
"I'm not the sun, you can quit orbiting, you know. Or are you just admiring? Death is beautiful, love." Sarcasm, considering how much she truely hated herself. But a nice threat nontheless
As much as she just wanted to tear into him, she was curious. How long untill he snapped?

She was analyzing him. Was she making that poor mistake most made, that he was slow? A smirk danced across his features and then, suddenly, he jerked to circle her in a different direction, his movement graceful and quick. Her tail flipped out to touch him and he allowed it, for now. His paws touched the ground, gently this time, and suddenly he stopped his circling, his expression displeased, as if he found her boring already.
She spoke to much. He hated it. He didn't answer her questions, merely sat there and rolled his eyes to the side, pretending to not be listening or even aware of her. Yet, his body was ready for her first attack. He knew she would, he wasn't one to snap easily. He doubted this wench would figure it out, either.
Wench? When had he last used that delicious word? A low chuckle escaped him, rumbling in his chest. He was continuing to pretend to ignore the vixen, though his ear flicked once.
Where was he? Far enough from Nyx and Eisheth and her other kid. Yet, Nyx had mentioned visiting him randomly. What if they choose today? What if little Eisheth came running out right now? He'd kill this vixen if she touched her...

Hmph, so he was gonna ignore her eh? How dare-
She stopped. Ariel knew this. She also knew this male was waiting for her to attack. Ugh, stupid girl. She wieghed her options. If she attacked, it would start out with the male having the upper hand...but if she didn't this could drag out forever. Christ.
"What's your name, huh?"
...She did seem to be a tad on the suicidal side, remember?
"Well...this was fun, but to be honest not my cup of tea..." She said, feigning a tried and bored air "Bye now!"
On the last note of her sentence she used her tail to sweep as much dust in her opponents face as possible. An old trick, but a good one. She laughed maniacally, her body snapping into fight mode. Oh, she missed this~
Her body tensing, she leaped.

Flicking his tail, the male didn't give her an answer. However, when she said "bye" he tensed, watching her feet, a tactic he learned from fighting with his mate. She was a quick one, he needed to view her feet more.
Then the tail swiped, and Sin leapt away, back and behind a tree. The vixen had leapt, he had heard her movement. Was she stupid? She obviously was, sight was hardly used anyway for a proper fighter. Her movement had been enough, his ears having caught it, and so he kept away. She was annoying, and young. She was like him when he was young, stupid and violent.
"Child." He snarled lowly from his spot. "Would you like to try again?"

Anger flared in her like a raging fire when she realise she had missed her mark. Huh, this male was good. No matter, it only served to remind her that this was someone different to who she was used to fighting. Others had been an easy win, this one...this one was a challenge.
He had heard her. He did not need sight. Ariel decided to follow his lead, of sorts. She opened her senses to the world, taking not of even the slightest of sounds, smells, everything. She breathed in, closing her eyes for a moment, less than a heartbeat, too long would be deadly. Sight had some use in battle. Ariel let that blazing fire turn into merely a warmth, ready to spring back to life at a moment's notice.
"Child, would you like to try again?"
He reminded her of her past. Why did everything always end up coming back to her past? She gave the male one of her classic smirks.
"Yes. I'm ready, old man."
