FATAL FEMMES' SANDCASTLE. TEAM MEMBERS: Whisper, Natalia, Rain Rottingham, Mitzi Adler, Imryn (Getsurae, Shia bean, Meeki, alliisara, Katarina Everard) GENERAL SANDCASTLE STATS TOTAL HP: -21 (Boss is at -3) TOTAL OFFENSE 5 TOTAL DEFENSE: 8 TOTAL STABILITY: 2 ENVIRONMENT ITEMS USED: Sand Dollar, Pool of water (a moat), Seaweed, Coconut SIGNATURE and BONUS items DAILY STATUS EFFECT DAILY STATUS EFFECT MARCH 11TH TRIALS CONCLUSION PART 1:The kraken left very few castles alive: and even those that survived looked ready to fall apart any second, hanging on by their bare foundations. At last, seconds, minutes, hours later, the attack receded, as each tentacle, even the beaten and bludgeoned ones, retreated back into the ocean.
A moment of silence and then:
"All participants and spectators! The Trials of Famine portion is now closed and judging has commenced! All spectators can now take a thirty minute break before they will be promptly ask to return to their seats for the scoring results. All students in the trials will be returned to their regular - ahem - size and may also walk around, pat each other on the backs, and of course, assess the damage. Be mindful as you walk around of the judges that are looking at each structure. Don't forget to buy some last minute refreshments before you leave, now half prize until the end of the hour!"
True to the announcer's words, the students thankfully, found themselves returned rather happily to their normal compact humanoid forms. From their size, the damage to their castle looked even more abysmal: in fact it was a miracle that some of the structures even stood. That really, only a scant few structures stood. OOC: REMAINING DAMAGE TALLY - IF YOUR SANDCASTLE REMAINS STANDING, but you are out of turns and the kraken's HP is not at 0, before it left, its tentacle swings one particularly nasty blow as your castle simply COLLAPSES (INSTANT KO)! If you have a sea turtle you can save your castle, but unfortunately a pearl does nothing. OOC: ALL SPECTATORS:- ALL SPECTATORS CAN NOW WALK AROUND and talk to the participants (By visiting any thread in this subforum marked OPEN). IF the thread is marked CLOSED, please do not enter it! Also please note which characters are entering an EXITING the thread. IF you are ENTERING the thread, please post at the top in bold, if you are EXITING the thread please do so as well. Make sure to quote whomever you are talking to! TRIALS PARTICIPANTS:- A few of you have survived three waves of onslaughts, though many of you have persevered to try your best! Congratulations! An overall tally will be made tomorrow, and points and rankings will be giving out ICly for each group. This will determine the advantage they get in the next Trials - The next trials will not ICly be happening until MARCH 13TH 2012, so participants please take a few days to take a break, stretch, and enjoy that OOC world. I will post results tomorrow, once again, to which your student can post a reaction to IN THE SPECTATOR THREAD. - After results have been posted, all TRIALS threads other than the SPECTATOR ONE will be closed off and archived to make way for the next Trials. - At this point in time, students are welcome to show off the... remains (or not!) of their castle or wander around to see others. Simply post OPEN to open your thread to visitors, and EXIT and ENTER threads as you need to! - IF YOUR CASTLE SURVIVED, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO EDIT THE FIRST POST OF YOUR THREAD AS IN BOLD RED SOMEWHERE: THE REMAINING HP VALUE OF YOUR CASTLE. - ALL OTHER THREADS PLEASE UPDATE THE FRONT POST OF YOUR THREAD WITH THE REMAINING HP VALUE (0) OF YOUR CASTLE THANK YOU. - IF team members have not rolled yet, subtract -5 HP from your kraken AND YOUR CASTLE for EACH time the team member did NOT roll. Apply the result, do the damage to your castle as necessary and update the first post with the FINAL HP.

Whisper looked over the beach, watching as everyone began to form their groups and figure out the best way to perform the trial. Sand castles? Really? What the hell kind of trial was that? She raised a brow and poked at the sand below with her foot. There was no way that it would be so simple, even though it was definitely looking that way. Nothing with Halloween was simple. Plus, considering the clans were involved, this was going to be complicated as hell. She almost double face palmed, but dragged her hands down her face instead of holding them there. Wisp was having doubts about volunteering to lead the group, even though she had promised herself she would do her best and not fail.
What the hell was she even doing...standing around looking like a putz? She sure was. "It's alright... you can do this. You made a bet with yourself, and you won't lose. For them, you won't lose." She waited for the rest of her team to arrive before she started on the prep work for their castle. She wanted to to represent the team, so why not have them all there.

Sand castles? For the love of Jack... how in the world was she supposed to manage this? Imryn groaned inwardly while floating out towards their appointed area, glanching down at her hands every so often. These things were going to get in the way more than help possibly... seeing as they were more claw like than hand like. However, she was going to still try her best and hope that she didn't let her team down. It was bad enough that she hadn't contributed much to solving the riddle, still feeling the sting of defeat from yesterday and letting it fuel her determination to continue on and do as much as she could today.
By the time she made it out to where Whisper was, Imryn had her game face on and was ready to get started on the challenge. "Ok boss, ready and reporting for duty."

Whatever Mitzi had been expecting... sand castles definitely was not it. What the jack? What did this have to do with anything? At least they got to spend some time on the beach, and in the human world to boot! Even as nervous as she was nervous about the trial, Mitzi had trouble keeping her grin in check. She made her way along the path until she found her team, enjoying the warm sun and stripping off her boots to feel the sand between her toes. She waved to Imryn and Whisper as she joined them, looking around for their other teammates. "Any clue where Rain and Natalia are?" She hoped they would show up soon; it looked like the other teams were starting to plan, and she didn't want to fall too far behind.

Natalia...pretty much only knew Whisper in the group they had formed, and yet as she arrived (appearing winded) both arms wrapped themselves around each of the ghouls that had started to huddle on the beach--squeezing her ghoulfriend tightly before standing amongst their semi-circle.
She was late. Late to all the things. And yet she would not apologize. It was fashionable to be such, right? "Hello...lovelies!" Smiling wildly, the monster took a moment to scan the area they found themselves in before crossing her arms over her chest with a sigh. "So what now??"
Forget formalities! They were on a team...that made them friends...forever.
((SORRY FOR LAME POST. ;3; I didn't expect to be so busy these past two days!))

"OH MAGGOT JUICE! THIS IS GOING TO BE SO FUN!," Rain exclaimed as she pounced over to where her group had gathered. She paused to dig her clawed hands into the sand, squishing it into her fists. They were going to play in the sand! How much fun was that? Maybe they could make a destroyed village being ravaged by giant tentacle monster with a fish head? Or maybe they could build a castle that looked like the headmistress.. but maybe that would be too scary. Too scary, indeed! Grinning from ear to ear, she jumped up and clapped her hands excitedly, inadvertently spraying sand at the other girls.

Everyone seemed to be excited, and the energy was certainly infectious. She embraced her ghoul friend, released her to give a high five to the others. "Let's be the best we can be ok! Show them what we can do when we work together."
"Someone should start building the castle itself, and the rest of us can go collect any extra materials that might help. Mitzi, do you perhaps want to start on it? If you don't feel comfortable on your own, I'm sure we can all help when we come back!" Whisper peered around, trying to peek at other teams. Some of them had their castles well under way, and she knew they had to pick up the pace. With a look of determination crossing her face, she set off to search for more materials.
Her best bet was to check near the waterline. She waded in a few inches before finding some seaweed floating about. This could be good for a type of rope...she thought to herself. Who knows what they might need it for! She took it back to their area, setting it aside for when it may be needed. "Ok, that's one thing! How about we get started guys?"

Mitzi gave Natalia an awkward hug back - she really hadn't had much chance to get to know any of her teammates, but everyone's excitement was hopefully a good sign on that front. At least until Rain appeared, and sprayed the rest of them with sand. "Hey, be careful!" Mitzi said, but no bite to it as she brushed the sand off. "Sure, I can do that," she replied to Whisper, looking around for anything to help her build it. It looked like none of them had brought any tools, so she'd just have to do it with her bare hands. "Hey, someone find a way to bring up some water, so I can get it to stick!" she called to her teammates as they started out to find further supplies. While she waited she could at least dig some sort of moat for the castle. All castles need moats, right? And that should give her some damp sand to start building everything else with.

When the other ghouls started to get to work, Rain decided to look around the sand for something they could use. She would take a few steps before digging her toes into the sand to feel around. It was the fourth or fifth step that she found a small sand dollar. It was round and had a leafy pattern to it, almost like a fossil. She liked how it had five points and within moments she was down on the ground with her messenger bag open and various colored crayons scattered about. "How about this," she asked, sharing the precious item as if it were a trophy. She had drawn her teammates on the small scratchy surface, or rather, she tried.

Imryn grinned and gave a little wave to the rest of team as they gathered together and began getting work assigned. Claws, well... they wouldn't be much good for making the actual sand castle she thought, so instead she started floating around a bit to look for anything else to add to the castle instead. They had seaweed, so she left that floating in the water... and the circle thing Rain had found in the sand looked really neat too. However there was a rather interesting looking orb that caught her eye as it stuck up out of the sand. "Huh... well, it's kinda big, but we might be able to use this?" Imryn asked, clutching a coconut in her hands, floating back over to where the rest of the group was. It did seem rather out of place, but who knew what would be useful once things got underway.

"Bring them over here and I'll add them in!" The sand that she'd pulled out to make the moat had been plenty damp, and Mitzi had made a pretty standard square-ish castle out of it. Looking around for inspiration, she suddenly got an idea and started work on an entryway for the castle - a skull, using the seaweed and Rain's sand dollar to give it an eyepatch. She grabbed Mr Starfish, and put him on one of the "towers" to watch over the castle, and then looked up at the ghost ghoul. "Oh, hm... maybe you can slice one side off? I think it would go well opposite Mr. Starfish, but it looks like it's a bit too heavy as it is."

"I'll see what I can do... not sure if it will slice, I've never seen one before." Imryn replied, turning the coconut over in her hands a few times before starting to stab at it a bit with one of her claws. It seemed to slowly be giving way as the tip of her claw dug into the rough outside and then into the fleshy insides, forming a quarter sized hole before she broke through to the inside. "Oh hey! This thing is hollow... and filled with some kind of liquid. That makes it easier to cut." she mused, clutching the nut tightly in one hand while quickly slicing it in half with the other. "Just a little more and... there! Two halves... well more or less." She said, dumping the liquid inside out onto the sand, which then reminded her of something else. "We still need water yet... and these things seem to hold a decent amount. I'll make a few trips so we aren't carrying it up in our hands." And off she went, flying down and back to the waters edge, filling the coconut halves with sea water and then returning to dump it in the moat around the sand castle. Once that was done, she handed Mitzi the coconut halves to add to the sand castle however she wished, then floated back a bit to get a better look at it. This working as a group thing wasn't so bad after all.... maybe she ought to get out more often.

"This is pretty good guys! Keep it up! I think we have a pretty good shot with this." She was happy as a clam to see how well they were all meshing, and damn was their castle looking awesome. It seemed to represent their teams bad assness, and she couldn't be happier. Hopefully it would stand against whatever was thrown at them, and who knew what that would be. "You think that its ready to show off?"

Rain took a step back from the sand castle and squeezed one eye shut. She had seen people do this before on the skelevision. It meant they were concentrating really hard! Everything looked in place. If her opinion held any weight, it was the best darn sand castle she had seen in her entire unlife! It represented team Fatal Femmes. By Jack's foul breath, it was the very epitome of ghoul power itself! "I think so, I would like to find out what others thought of it.. they better like it though or I'll be..I'll be.. REALLY MAD." She bobbed her pigtailed up and down for added measure, before ending it on a childish pout.

Mitzi made a last few (mostly cosmetic) adjustments, before stepping back so she could get a look at the finished product. "Yeah, sure!" The Reaper ghoul was surprised how proud she was of the castle that they'd built. It may not be anything particularly spectacular visually, but she thought it should be pretty sturdy. She hoped so, at least. She was determined that her team do well, nothing less would be good enough! She looked around the beach, noticing other teams had finished theirs as well. "I might go take a look at the competition. I've got some friends on another team, I'm kind of wondering how they're doing. I won't be long." After looking around to make sure no one objected, she started off down the path. ((Exiting to the Honey Badgers thread))
