Welcome to the Trial of Famine PART 1
IN the BUILDING PHASE it is your goal to OOCLY:
1) Have ONE MEMBER (Team Leader or active person at that time as agreed on) CREATE A THREAD for your team titled [TEAM NAME HERE ] SANDCASTLE THREAD.
2) On that very first post of the thread, your team leader/active person/ whomever made that post will be responsible for updating the STATUS EFFECTS that will be happening DAILY during the Trial of Famine (once part 2 is underway). These effects will give your "fort" random bonuses/ buffs/ debuffs or just IC RP distractions / things to do. Make sure to EDIT ALL DAILY STATUS EFFECTS to the first post of your Team's post, right under their stats.

3) You will need to look at the list below and choose one of the six "signature" items. Rp out the choice, whether one character takes it, or if its a group decision. This SIGNATURE ITEM must also be posted in your first post. The true use of a signature item will be revealed when the daily status effects are posted, as well as other GM mob encounters that may happen in your thread.
4) You will need to choose your ENVIRONMENT/ additional items for your sand castle, obviously, other than sand. These items may add or subtract things. Read their stats carefully, and APPLY IT to the overall stats of your Sandcastle finished product. Your sandcastle starts off with 20 stability points, for each additional item you add, subtract stability points accordingly. You CANNOT hit 0, otherwise your sandcastle loses stability and it collapses. For example, if you choose an item that gives you +10 HP but -5 stability, then you will apply the stats as necessary and LIST that item as one of your chosen items. Think of stability points as stat points distribution cost. Some group collaboration is required, though you could just choose a designated team leader and have everyone else PM a choice if you are having time zone issues.
5) ONCE you have chosen a signature item (see below list) AND chosen your environment items (see below list), you will now need to ROLEPLAY BUILDING OUT the Sandcastle. Signature items are given to you by the gnomes, additional items your character(s) have to ICLY FIND ON THE GROUND/ surroundings before applying it to their sandcastle. If you have been given the bonus from solving the mystery hunt, you can now also open it up! Check below to see what it is.
6) WHEN YOU ARE DONE AND YOUR CHARS ARE DONE rping BUILDING it, you are ready to post the finished product. Please post an IMAGE (it can be on mspaint, photoshop, or even just a collage made from several images on google) of your FINISHED SANDCASTLE PRODUCT. THIS GOES on your first post, next to the stats of your sandcastle.
So to recap -> Make thread, reserve first post, choose a signature item, choose 4 additional environment items and rp finding them out, rp building the sandcastle, post final product, edit first post with final product Sandcastle and stats.

Plank of Wood. A rather formidable plank of wood! Too bad its only a few inches....
Red Herring. As opposed to you know, an invisible red herring. Straight from Colorado, land of the communists.

exclaim YOUR SANDCASTLE AND YOU: PLEASE NOTE YOUR SANDCASTLE CANNOT REACH 0 stability, if it does, it COLLAPSES and you have to rebuild it again. Stability is only used as a "cost" mechanic for choosing items. All sandcastles start with 20 stability points.
Seaweed: +3 defense, -3 stability
Tiny Hermit Crab: +3 offense, -3 stability
Sea Urchin: +10 HP, -3 stability
Pool of water (a moat): +5 defense -5 stability
Coconut: +5 offense -5 stability
Sand Dollar: +20 HP, -5 stability
Medium Sized Stone: +10 defense, -10 stability
Old discarded Sandal: +10 offense -10 stability
Driftwood: +40 HP, -10 stability
Sea Turtle: Saves your Sandcastle from instant death one turn with all stats halved, -15 stability points.
Pearl: Instantly repairs your Sandcastle back to 100% HP, -15 stability points (cannot be used if castle hits 0 HP on that turn).
