By now, I'm sure most of you are aware of the newest Sentai installment, Go-Busters. But what some might not know about is that there's another "Sentai" series set to air April.
About all I know is that it has 1 guy and 2 girls as the Rangers and that it'll be geared towards more adult audiences.
Aside from the suit designs, I'm really looking forward to this series. It looks really interesting especially since the main male lead is supposed to be a "virgin." Other then that and based on what pictures I've seen, I'd say its probably going to be something like an "official" parody based on the changers and the setting, but you never know. It could turn into it's own long running series. ^^
So, thoughts/predictions?

There's official images out there and according to the actors' blogs, it's appears legit.

I sort of doubt it, but it would be nice if it were as dark as the Garo series. I like that type of style....
Are there any other tokusatsu's like Garo out there?

You doubt Akibaranger is legit? It is there's already several promotional videos out there. ^^ The more I watch of it, the more I think It'll be a parody that or some sort of homage. Garo? Where did that come from? xd Also, Akibaranger spoiler in white: Sentai is a show in the Akibaranger world.

This show will be like the complete opposite of Garo really. Garo tries to be a much more mature Tokusatsu show, where as this looks like it will be a condensed version of "comedy" with very little seriousness to it if any at all.
I don't think there are any other "dark" Tokusatsu out there either. All other ones are more geared with lightheartedness in mind. I'd say go for some older Kamen Rider, Metal Hero and Sentai shows though. They tend to have a more serious tone and not so much "lolol the hero just hit himself in the crotch" stuff going on.

I've been watching the second season of GARO, and it is spectacular. I wish that there were more adult oriented Tokusatsu shows out there like this one. I love dark shows, that have so much depth to them. The graphics are pretty cool, and the stories are well written. The artwork has a lot of thought put into them, and and the characters are consistent. I bet Akibaranger will be the slap stick silly kind of show. I originally thought it was going to be a bad a** April Fools joke on us fans, but maybe, just maybe, it will honestly come out...

Nadira: Garo took a chance with being darker and more mature based. I think it paid off though since it gathered enough interest in it to get the added on movie/mini series stuff and this new series. Hopefully another serious toned Tokusatsu gets made as a result and it can possibly end up a yearly thing like the other franchises.
