General Information
The large stone cavern with the tiled floor and large yellow smiley face is likely familiar to at least several trainees, and may even feature in a few nightmares from time to time. Welcome to Deathsweeper, the training course that may only be attempted via c-type golem, and often acts as a testing ground for the Life Division's more painful creations. Stealth and detecting imminent danger are vital for Death Hunters and anyone who has to spend extended amounts of time near Caelius. The Deathsweeper chamber is full of hidden traps that only the finest of survival instincts can survive unscathed.

If you fail: you get to once again relive the sensation of dying. Painfully and sometimes quite strangely.

If you win: you have survived stepping 5 tiles into the room. Anything further is purely for peen and bragging rights.


    Mechanics
  • roll 1 d10
  • check for hp loss and death
  • decide whether or not to use your bonuses
  • if you survive, repeat.
  • roll list: the traps are ICly constantly changing, so feel free to get creative as to what exactly those traps are!
  • -50% HP is off your full HP, so if you hit -50% twice, then you are 100% KO'd

    Bonus Mechanics
  • This bonus is consumable.
  • All participants get a flag, this flag will allow your character to notice something about the area they're stepping into. OOCly this means you can adjust your rolled number, up or down, by one point. Instinctive moves are used in the same manner as flags. These are stackable, so if you have 1 flag + 1 instinctive move, you can use them up in order to adjust your roll by two.

    (If you roll a 1, you may not move your number down to 0, -1, or 10. And 10 cannot be adjusted to 1 or 11.)

  • Trainees: 1 flag
  • Death Trainees: 1 flag + 1 instinctive move
  • Hunters: 1 flag + 1 instinctive move
  • Death Hunters: 1 flag + 2 instinctive moves

The last time Gale had attempted the Death Sweeper course, he had been smashed, blown up, incinerated, and burned in a pile of lava from a volcano that had been hiding

So why was he even here again?

A ~~~**mystery**~~~

"Well, here goes nothing."

And then he stepped on a bomb and there was much swearing and anger all around.

And probably a little laughter from Jinhai mixed in there too.

He almost stepped on a tile that looked as though it might combust at any second.

Almost.

But then he realized that the smoke curling out from beneath it probably wasn't a very good sign and leapt to the tile next to it instead.

And then the tile exploded.

Gale was not very happy about this.

The second time Gale went back to the Deathsweeper training course, he felt he was much better prepared to handle whatever it was that came at him. He had been blown up, yes, and sunk into lava, of course, but he was not about to let a small thing like getting melted turn him away from defeating the damn thing.

He took his first step into the room...

...and probably got his leg bitten by a shark where had that even come from, anyway

"WHAT THE HELL - ?!"

His second step, when Gale ever so slowly let his foot down, his teeth gritted, face turned away, expecting the worst - fortunately, yielded none of the previous results, and he was able to put his weight on the tile safely.

"Well. That's two in."

As it was, the blast merely grazed his shoulder.

"This is getting ridiculous," came the griping voice of a certain sixteen year old blonde boy as he stomped back to the golem room to rent yet another for the trial.

Somehow he didn't think it would be his last time, either. Especially since his first step into the room resulted in a loud cracking noise and suddenly Gale was plunged headfirst into a pool of ice water.

Not exactly very nice.
