Esther and Naomi kits at play!
Naomi: -Sitting on a rock near the beach, strumming her guitar.-
Sniffing at the ground Esther tries to locate something familiar... Ears perking she hears a noise and moves her kit paws in it's direction with hazard.
Naomi: -Spotting Esther, Naomi giggles.- Hey Esther! Look what Daddy got me! -Points at the guitar.- He got you one too! -Points to another small guitar beside her.- He told me to give it to you.
Blinking Esther looks from her sister to the guitar, assessing it's safe she approaches a little quicker and sniffs at the instrument unsure what to do with it.
Naomi: Here, hold it like this. -Shifts over and plucks up the guitar, placing it in Esther's paws.- Then strum.
Fumbling with the instrument Esther looks from herself to her sister and tries to assume the right position, taking her paws she strummed and it sounded... aweful, she even made herself cringe.
Naomi: Oh, don't worry about that! They need tuned, that's what I'm trying to do with mine right now. Not sure if I'm doing it right though. -Glances down at the guitar and tweaks with some of the strings.-
Frowning Esther nods slowly and tries to copy her sister, looking frantically between herself and Naomi she strums again and it still makes her flinch. Sighing she stops trying for now,curling her tail around herself and watches her sister, to see if she has more success.
Naomi: -Strums her own guitar and hears it mine a whine. Giggling, she puts her own down.- I'll have to ask Daddy to help us. He knows more about it. He's out there. -Points toward the waves to a small figure on a surfboard.-
Looking thoughtful she nods then peers out at the ocean, trying to spot their father she notices the waves and starts to become memorizes by their movements, she'd never been an adventurous one and thus not yet ventured too near the water to see what it feels like.
Naomi: -Hops down from the rock to stand beside her sister.- They're awesome, aren't they? I can't wait until we're old enough. -She purrs slightly at the thought.- Do you want to dip your paws in the water? Its really cold. -Shivers.- But fun!
It takes a few seconds for Esther to break her gaze from the waves but she turns her head and nods slowly before a smile appears on her maw, that did sound like fun and Naomi would keep her safe, right? She had for their small lifes so far... So Esther hopped down and into movement, turning towards the sea edge.
Naomi: -She smiles a bit and steps toward the waves.- Kiyomi showed me this. Put your paws right here, just out of the edge of the waves. And then... when the waves move up along your paws, it moves the sand out from under. Its soo weird! -Giggles in excitement and plants her paws on the sand, waiting for the water.-
Watching her sister Esther assesd and tried to copy her sister, slowly she extended her paw in a mirror image and just as she doe so the water comes, going wide eyes a giggle escapes before she could help herself at the strange sensation.
Naomi: -Hearing the giggle, she looks over and grins.- Its awesome, isn't it? I love the water!
Nodding vigorously she couldn't help the smile that seemed plastered all over her face. Priming the other paw she readies for the same to happen again.
Naomi: -Smiles at her, stepping a few more paces into the water. She let the liquid roll over her legs, just under her stomach.- It feels so wonderful..
Hovering at the edge the kit let the waves roll over her paws and semi bury them under the sand again and smiles as the water sprays up and into her face. Shaking it off she beams over to her sister and watches with interest as she moved further in, hesitantly she moves a little further in herself. Letting the water sway over her little legs she goes wide eyed, then retreating back to the beach a little shaken.
Naomi let her eyes shut as the water shifted over her paws. She began to hum to herself, her eyes slightly opening when she spotted Esther huddled away from the water. "What's wrong?"
Still physically shaking she frowns looking down at her wet legs then to the water, then shaking her entire body to try and get dry.
Naomi tilts her head to the side and steps closer to her sister, lowering her nose to nuzzle her shoulder. "Its okay, the water can't hurt you."
Slowly she leans down and sniffs at her sisters wet legs, blinking a few times Esther looks Naomi straight in the eye with a hopeful look, she wanted to believe her sister, because her sister had never been wrong or wanted her hurt before... but... it felt so strange.
Naomi gives a soft smile, "I promise, as long as you stay close to the sand the water can't hurt you."
Gently a small smile played at the kits lips as she nodded then nuzzled her sisters cheek vigorsly, looking back at the water she puffed out her chest and started to move back.
Naomi returns the nuzzle and purrs softly. Taking steps with her sister, she stayed close to her side, "And I'll be right here." Puts her paws in the water.
Having her sister there was a bigger reasurence than anything she'd every felt. First it was her paws, and the waves and sand made her giggle just as before and then she moved forward some more and waited for the next wave to come, she's be brave just like her sister!
Naomi takes synchronized steps with Esther, not leaving her side. Moving in further, the water started to pick up more, crashing just a little bit harder against her legs. Naomi looked across to Esther to make sure she was okay.
It felt like a mile stone, it wasn't that bad, it felt cool! Letting out a breath she hadn't realised she'd been holding she looks at Naomi and smiles with a nod she takes a few more steps this time... she'd be on par with her sister and let it get her belly!
Smiling, Naomi looks back to the waves. "If you want to go any further... you have to jump with the waves, and swim slightly back toward the sand, or you'll go out too far. But as long as you jump with the waves you won't get knocked back."
Whislt the next wave came and washed over them Esther considered that but the idea of things getting out of control she decided to heed the warning from her sister and stick to where they currently where. The next wave that come though she decided to jump, even though they where far enough back not to need to, it was fun, and good practise for when she was bigger and might attempt it.
Naomi giggled just a little when she saw her sister jump. "Its fun, isn't it?" Jumping herself, she felt the sand shift out from her paws just slightly when she got back to the ground.
A rumble of glee errupted from Esther as she sucessfully jumped the waves and felt the splash all over her fur. She was smilng from ear to ear and turning to her sister she nodded vigorsly, "Fun!" As she spoke she giggled again feeling the sand shift and envelope her paws as she prepared to jump again.
Naomi giggled, happy to see her sister enjoying herself. She continued to jump with her, feeling the waves splash against her. "Glad you're having fun, Sis!"
After a few more jumps Esthers giggles gave way to a yawn, blinking she felt the sea breeze catch her soaked furr and feels a shudder travel down her length. Momentarily distracted the next wave catches her awkwardly making her sway and getting sea water in her eyes with a squee she sloshes her way back to shore, panting heavily.
Naomi takes another jump before realizing her sister was wandering off. "Esther! Are you okay?" She quickly reemerged from the water toward the sand, shivering from the cold air. She stepped closer, and patted her sister's back carefully. "Should I find Daddy?"
Startled at Naomi's approach Esther calms herself, slowing her breathing and just moving in close nuzzling her sister she stands by her side and nods.
Naomi wrapped her paws around Esther, holding her close. "Its okay Sissy.." She strokes Esther's back to comfort her when she sees her father pulling in from the waves. It was getting dark and the sun was starting to paint the sky in sunset hues.
Chase pulled his board to his side when his paws touched the sand. Spotting his two girls he walked toward them, he saw Esther huddled in Naomi's paws and frowned. "You two Dudettes alright?" He very gently picked Esther up and cuddled her against himself. "Are you okay Esther? Daddy's here, Man, he won't let anything happen to you." He shot Naomi a small smile. "We'll go home, alright?"
Enjoys the warmth of her father but feels a little paniced at the loss of touch with her sister, looking for a few moments before seeing Naomi she reaches a paw out "NayNay?" She looked down, had she just ruined their fun? It had been such a blast and then everything went pear shape and it was all Esthers fault!
Naomi glanced upward toward her father when she heard her name. "I'm right here Esther." Lifting her paw she took hold of her sister's and gave it a squeeze, "We'll have fun again! I promise."
As soon as her sister touched her she physically relaxed all over nodding and accepting the guide back to their home. Hoping very much her sister lead true to her word and they'd have fun again untill then she'd take their lead and feel safe enveloped in love and with enternal faith in her sister.
