ForMyself and Yushika FeaturingAbaddon x NiyolaPlotNow this is more or less a one-shot thing. Like if it works, it'll never work again for another fox. Abaddon has always been very Daeva-ish, but in the beginning he did all those bad things because he was trying to care for those he considered "his" and didn't care how he ruined the lives of others as long as "his" people were well and happy. He had some selfish motives behind that and all, but he still did right by those under him. In time though people became highly uncomfortable with what he was willing to do, how ruthless he was. They either left him or attacked him or something similar, but in the end /everyone/ he "cared" for betrayed him. So Ab was pretty much like, "Pfff, ******** all of you then. I'll do what I want for my own pleasure and enjoyment, and damn how it affects others." If we want to pick up where we more or less left off with them, maybe just a short time skip of them getting where Ab is guiding her, we could do something like this. From what I read it seems like Niyola would be grateful to Ab for helping her and believe even if he's scary he might really be a nice guy? I was thinking we could have someone like bump into Ab or Ab bump into someone else (he's an a**, he'd do that) on purpose or something, and the nameless OC starts laying into Ab about what an idiotic person he must be to not watch where he's going. Before Ab can rip into the guy or ignore him (he'd do either, depending), Niyola pips up to defend him. Not sure how vehement her defense would be, but even her speaking up might surprise Ab a bit. After that we might just do a lot of various time skips in various, "I just happened to run into you" situations, where Niyola becomes more convinced Ab's not a bad guy and Ab becomes more intrigued with the loyalty she shows him even when someone would have figured by now he's an a** and dangerous to be around. So he decides he'll trust someone again, just this once, and make her "his". More or less his personality is still going to be a little unpleasant, but by him claiming her Niyola would at least be safe from his evil directly. After that it's mostly a matter of Niyola kinda rubbing off on him and sloooooooowly Ab tames down a little.

Mall Meetings
Status :: done ::
OOC moments :: this color text :: [3/3/2012 2:54:59 AM] Yushika: Why? Why was she out here again? Her heart rate quickened, fear drifting into her chest. She never liked crowds, that much was evident. No. It wasn't that she hated crowds... she hated being without Siren and Claus. She never left their sides, yet here she was, /alone/. It was a sickening, overwhelming feeling. A feeling all to familiar.
Alone was not new. Alone was not different. Alone was familar. It was that frightening shadow that lurked in the back of her mind, letting out violent whispers and cruel laughs. She had been alone for a very long time, that is until she met Siren and Claus.
Then she suddenly wasn't so... lonesome. She had become dependent on them. It was sickening, she realized that a long time ago. She hated knowing she depended on them, but she wasn't one to escape from reality. She did. To the point where a simple shopping trip at the mall without them made her feel hopeless, small, and very alone.
Clutching her shopping bags, pink eyes closed and opened as she gulped air. Pale fingers pushed back shoulder length blue hair from her eyes, then adjusted her blue dress. It was rather cute, Siren had picked it out. Despite his protests at girly things he was rather good at picking out girls clothes. Today she was out to buy presents for the boys. Why? She... she didn't know. Maybe it was an excuse to try and be normal, to try and actually do something alone. Maybe because they had given her so much and she had given so little. Maybe.
A leaf fell from a tree. Ah. The mall had recently brought in trees into the malls center to liven it up. Eyes flicking up to watch the leaf fall, her finger extending, eyes flicking to check if anyone was watching. No. Good. Gently, ever so gently, she allowed a tremble of wind to escape her hand, sending the leaf into a spiral and then gently to the floor. Ah. Now, where was the video game store?
[3/3/2012 3:21:20 AM] Jinx: From the second floor of the mall, the girl was being watched. Red eyes that seemed almost to glow, fixed in a piercing stare. They were the moster eyes you feared to find under your bed when you were a child, with not a single shred of kindness or empathy in them. Only barely masked greed and lust.
Those eyes were the only thing that ruined the looks of the speciman they belong to. He was young-looking, possibly in his early twenties, tall and pale. His clothing clung to a body that was neither lean nor obnoxiously muscular, an object of potent sexuality that drew many a female eye and even a few males. Once their eyes found his face their expressions ranged from stunned to speculative to being almost as greedy and lust-filled as his own.
His hair was a dark red, a color that could be compared to roses, rubies, or blood. Bangs fell forward to artfully frame a pointed, elfish face. With his long lashes, pale skin, and that blood-red hair, he was right on the border between handsome and beautiful. The rest of his hair fell about to chin-length, carefully arranged in a causal, dare-devil style.
His attire only added to the paleness of his skin. He was dressed entirely in black; a short-sleeved, plain black shirt, goth-style pants, and heavy black boots. The shirt was unadorned, but the pants had silver chains criss-crossing in fascinating, web-like patterns and the boots were trimmed in bright oranged that looked subtly like flames.
The man's eyes set him apart from the crowd, but so did something else. Spouting from his back apparently unhindered by the shirt, a pair of jet-black wings. They were draconic in style, the webbing decorated with silver web patterns that were clearly the inspiration for his pants. Only a certain few could see them, else there would have been pandemonium in the mall. Worse than the usual kind, anyway.
The wings clenched tightly against the man's back as he crossed his arms, eyeing the female below consideringly. He always watched people, and this time he believed he found something interesting. It might have been nothing, but from where he stook there were no vents on the floor to blow that leaf back up when it should have fallen. Coindicence or not, this female beared watching. Perhaps even a little following, just to make sure his time and attention wouldn't be wasted.
[3/3/2012 2:57:05 PM] Yushika: The feeling of being watched made her shoulders raise briefly, eyes flicking about. No, nothing. She wasn't new to being stared at, boys did it all the time. However the timing threw her off. She had felt that stare right after she toyed with the leaf. Perhaps she was imagining things? She was nervous.... Gathering both her thoughts and worries together and shutting them in the back of her mind, Niyola headed for the game store, nearly tripping as she did.
What did Siren like? Ah... did he even play games? Claus did, she remembered seeing him playing /something/. Siren liked scarves and hats.... maybe she should buy him that instead. Yet, a scarf compared to a game.... no. It was the thought that mattered, not the price. Slipping past people and into the store, she began her frantic search of the proper gift.
[3/3/2012 3:14:22 PM] Jinx: Abaddon stood up and casually walked to the stairs, one elegant hand trailing over the rail as he slowly descended, eyes never leaving the female. He reached the first floor about when she entered the game store. He paused, leaning against the stairs, still eyeing her consideringly.
She was cute. That alone would have made her slightly worthy of his notice, but if his hunch was correct that would have made her even more desirable.
Either way, he wasn't going to let her walk away just yet...
Faking a look of interest in the window display, Abaddon walked into the game store. He pretended to look through the rack of games by the door, waving away the annoyingly eager store attendant and keeping an eye on that distinctive blue hair.
[1:33:00 PM] Yushika: She considered using her powers when she realized a game was to high for her, yet was saved by the prescense of a shop clerk, letting out a nervous laugh and thank you once he handed it to her. Claus had mentioned this game before, or so she believed. Perhaps this would be a good idea. Her eyes drifted upwards, considering buying Siren a game...
No. A scarf or hat would please him. Siren was the type to prefer clothes over anything else. Nervously, she moved to pay for the object, eyes flicking back when she saw a girl pawing at the ceiling. A balloon was stuck, and her parents no where around. Actually, she didn't see /anyone/ around. Quickly looking side to side, she crouched onto the balls of her feet, looking up at the ceiling and then the girl.
"Don't cry." She whispered, gently touching the girls shoulder with a smile before standing, setting her items down, and once more checking before allowing a wisp of wind to escape, grasping the balloon and pushing it to her waiting fingers. Once she had it, she handed it to the girl, smiled once more, and pressed a finger to her lips in a 'Shush' manner before heading to the cashier.
[1:46:18 PM] Jinx: Abaddon feined reading the back of a game, a pleased smirk crossing his face. It seemed like his hunch had proven correct. Well well. Someone should have warned the little bird to be more careful. Humans were notoriously borish and close-minded, they tended to take unusual occurances badly.
He clenched his wings closer to his back, a subconsious reaction even though it wasn't necessary. They were his one weak point, an uncertainty he was still figuring out. It seemed like anything human-based couldn't touch them. At least, humans couldn't see or seem to feel them, and clothing went right through them like they were ghost wings. Yet he could still use them to fly, and other foxes-turned-human could see and touch them. He glanced over his shoulder at one of the black claw tips. He hated when two sets of rules came into play, it left room for surprises.
Abaddon set down the game and absently looked at another, still keeping an eye on his new little bird. Hmmmm. Approach now, or hope for better opportunity to arise?
[1:52:40 PM] Yushika: Pleased with the way things went, once Niyola had bought her game she slipped out into the mall, clutching the bag close to her. Her spine twitched, head raising. Agh. That feeling she was being watched.... nervously she jerked her head back to see if anyone was following her, yet the mass amount of people.... it was impossible to tell.
'What if someone saw?' No. Humans would have screamed their lights out. That child was to young to be frightened, and if she had blabbed her parents would have laughed it off and put it towards her imagination. Shaking her head, the blue haired girl sighed and turned back around, touching her hair briefly before heading for the nearest clothing store.
Ugh. Her nerves were going insane!
[2:04:05 PM] Jinx: Abaddon waited a moment after the girl left the store before following her. He threw the clerk a charming smile and quickly slipped away before the fool began babbling at him. Humans loved their babble.
Hmmmm. Where on earth was this little bird going?
A twing of irritation and contempt went through him as humans stopped to stare as he went past. Of course the whole species was so weak-minded they couldn't help but stare at his magnifience and power, but it would make blending in harder. He didn't want the little bird to know she was being stalked and end up spooked, at least not yet...
[2:14:04 PM] Yushika: To say Niyola was unobservant was to say a cat had claws. The humans staring behind her were blocked out by her worries, eyes flicking store to store until she stopped, stepped back two steps, and looked into a store. Ugh. People were in there...
'I just wanna make you sweat' Her eyes flicked as her cellphone went off. Correction. Claus' that he leant her. Her cheeks turned red at the lyric, flipping it open as she stopped her walking, head raising slightly until she recoiled, nearly throwing the phone in fright when a loud, shrill voice screamed:
"YOU. GET HOME NOW. YOU'VE BEEN GONE FOR FIVE HOURS." "E-Eh? Siren... I... Wait. Please don't yell, take a deep breath." "TAKE A DEEP BREATH MY a**! CLAUS IS GOING TO SET THE HOUSE ON FIRE!" "EH?!" "He's worried. APPARENTLY that means he has to try and cook. We both know what happens when he gets worried, AND NOW HE IS NEAR GAS, NIYOLA." "I said to get a modern stove.."
The phone let out a loud screech as Siren seemed to be yelling at someone in the background, and then a thump noise. And then it hung up... Worry flicked in her eyes, deciding perhaps she could get Siren his gift online next time... Wait. Where was the nearest exit?
[2:32:03 PM] Jinx: Abaddon had found a nice section of wall that gave him a good overview of the plaza. He could see the little bird from where he leaned casually against the wall, as she wandered in front of various store fronts. She paused, staring at one with a timid hesitancy that delighted him. The timid ones were always so fun to play with...
The faint strains of music reached his ears and the girl fumbled with a cell phone. It was too far away for him to hear what was being said, but from the way she held the phone away from her ears the voice on the other end must be shouting. Abaddon frowned. Hopefully not another interloper who'd already claimed the girl. It made no difference to him, but for some reason those idiots thought their claims still held after Abaddon had already decided the girl was his...
The conversation didn't last very long, anyway. The girl stared at her phone with a concerned expression and flipped it closed, then began looking around the room with big, "I'm lost" eyes.
Well, he supposed that was a perfectly good invitation. Abaddon seperated from the wall and strolled casually over. "Lost," he asked the girl, his voice a pleasant male rumble.
[2:42:06 PM] Yushika: Her head whipped around, fingers flicking briefly to prepare herself as someone spoke, though carefully she shoved her hands into her pockets when she noticed a handsome male standing before her. Yet, those eyes struck her, almost backing away. He looked friendly enough, yet those eyes looked like monsters waiting to consume anything stupid enough to trust their owner. She had to swallow back her fear, had to shove it back and remember that Claus had frightening eyes and yet he was perfectly sweet. She had to calm her nerves before she panicked.
Wait, he had asked something. Going through her memory, Niyola nodded at the male, the bag that was tied at her wrist rustling as she removed her hands from her pockets. "A little." She admitted with the tone of defeat. "I forgot where I came from, and I'm not used to this place, I'm not sure what's an exit and what's a store."
[2:49:29 PM] Jinx: Abaddon couldn't decide whether the girl was joking or not. How could you not know an exit was an exit? Heck, first thing he did when he stepped in this place was to identify all the exits. You never knew when you'd need an escape route, and multiple options was better than just one.
Finally Abaddon decided the girl must be serious. Her entire demeanor was too nervous for it to be a joke. "Well, usually, exits don't have giant signs over them," he said, raising an eyebrow and pointing to the storefronts with their various big, brightly colored and garish signs over the door. "Though some big stores have exits inside them. Why don't we start with how you came into the store."
He brushed back a lock of his hair, eyeing the female up and down. "Do you remember where you came in at, or has your sense of direction been completely void?"
[2:53:40 PM] Yushika: Her eyes narrowed just briefly, as if she was analyzing him. Though, they relaxed shortly after, eyes flicking to the right. "There." Was her simple answer, and then finally she found what she wanted, pointing at a store. "Not all stores have large signs. That one has a tiny one." She looked at the man, head shaking once more.
"I don't leave the house much. My roommates fret to much and I came here with them. I don't know the area very well." She mused, glancing back at the right. Hngh. There was to many people, absently she took a step back and allowed her hand to grip the bag she held. Why did she have to try and become independent? Wait. She was depending on someone again! This man! Her eyes flicked to look at him, considering telling him she could figure it out herself. She needed to stop depending on others...
[3:02:47 PM] Jinx: Abaddon resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "Point is that all stores have signs. They have to, so that way people can find them easier and the mall is dealing with an actual business. It's all businesses here. You want individuals running a stall, you go to the flea market.
He racked his brain, trying to come up with more stuff to say like he was a normal person having a conversation. He didn't talk a whole lot, cause eventually he always said something that made people look at him with fear-eyes. Not that he objected, but sometimes the timing was off. He really should practice speaking skills....
"All the more reason for you to explore the area so you can learn it better," Abaddon said, gesturing to the mall in general. "It never hurts to know your way around a place, you never know when something could happen and you'd be on your own." He tried to throw a touch of concern in his voice to make his argument a bit more believeable.
[3:08:16 PM] Yushika: Nodding in response, Niyola spotted a tension in the male. Annoyed? Exapsarated? What did she see? No, it was gone before she could hold onto it. Was she annoying? She didn't put it past herself, she was rather clueless and.... and...
Helpless? That word sent a flash of anger through her body. She... was that really what she was? Helpless? Look at her, not even understanding a mall! It was pitiful. Did this man pity her? She couldn't tell. She needed to stop depending on others, and /now/. Clutching her bag tightly, her head raised, face taking a more fierce expression.
"Thank you for your help!" Bowing would be what you were supposed to do where she came from, but she didn't. Not here, it was the wrong culture. "I'm sure I can find my way out. If everyone else can, I certaintly can." Yet that fierce expression wavered as she glanced back at the direction she came. No. Hey, wait, /no/. Claus and Siren could do it! So could she. Obviously.
"Worse comes to worse, I call Siren or Claus." She thought out-loud, fidgeting once more. Though, apparnelty Claus was almost setting fire to things. Hrm
[3:32:17 PM] Jinx: Abaddon shrugged. "Well I just so happen to know about every exit in this place," he said, sounding off-hand. "I could tell you how many their are, which ones are closest to us now, and which ones aren't really meant to be used except in emergencies."
He grinned, a flicker of his true personality stirring behind his eyes. "Me, I always make sure I know where the exits are. If you want I can follow along until you find one. That way I can help if you get lost, and you don't have to bother your friends."
[3:36:35 PM] Yushika: Watching him, his grin made her eyes narrow, eying him. Looking around, she relented for once, nodding. "Alright." She looked up at the direction she came from, nodding gently. "Alright, I won't mind that. Thank you." Eyes raising, she blinked in shock. Her manners!
"Oh! Sorry. I'm Niyola, pleasure to meet you." Extending her hand for a shake, she offered a gentle smile at him. Despite his scary eyes he seemed friendly, though she did worry a bit about those flickers she saw...
[3:41:24 PM] Jinx: Abaddon took the offered hand, trying to keep his hold light. "Ab," he said, putting a little more pressure on the hand-hold then going back to light. "I always go by Ab."
Reluctantly he released her hand. It would have been so easy to just snatch her now, but unfortunately humans didn't seem to take well to that. Weak worms that they were, there were still more of them than him and they could be troublesome if the girl began screaming.
"So," he said, holding both his arms out as though gesturing to the whole mall around him, "why don't you start looking. I'll follow and try to be unobtrusive."
[3:48:05 PM] Yushika: Nodding, the handshake seemed to settle her nerves greatly. More at ease, she glanced about before heading for the direction she came, glancing side to side. She considered asking for assistance, though he would have no way of knowing where she came from.
Her eyes spotted a few exits, though they weren't the right ones. Right? ...Right. Yea... No wait. There was a petstore, it was the first thing she saw. So that meant...
"Where is there a petstore?"
[4:01:21 PM] Jinx: Abaddon pointed over his shoulder. "Almost at the opposite end of the building. Not quite behind us, but not quite to the left. Somewhere inbetween. We gotta go in something of a zigzag pattern, since there are stores in the center of the building and not just the walls."
He raised an eyebrow. "Why, thinking of getting a puppy?"
[4:16:19 PM] Yushika: She sighed in defeat, shaking her head. "It was near the exit, I think." Glaring at the stores, she grumbled to herself. "Seriously. They couldn't make this place easier to naviagte?" Glancing at Ab, she added: "Puppies are't my thing. Cats are, their more independent."
Well, she might as well start moving. Taking a second to shift side to side. Absently, she moved closer to Ab, sighing once more. Fine. With her mind set, she began to walk.
[4:45:59 PM] Jinx: Abaddon’s eyes narrowed marginally. This woman really had no sense of danger it seemed, just like that last little dove that had escaped him. His fingers curled into claws at the thought and he had to stop himself from growling aloud. It wasn’t often his prey escaped him. He’d gotten back at the interloper, but not to the extent that he’d wanted before that one had escaped him as well. Such things never happened to him, earning the pair a special place of rage in his heart.
He resolutely shoved them from his mind for the moment. It wouldn’t do for his rage to show and scare off this little bit as well. If he played his cards correctly he could still make off with her, all he needed was patience.
“Well,” he said smoothly, “I can confirm you’re correct on that front. You’re still heading in the proper direction, but let’s see if you can make it to that exit in a reasonable amount of time.” His smile was as smooth and silky as his voice.
_____________________________________
A tiny frown creased Abaddon’s brow as he warred with the impatience that had begun to flutter in his chest. Niyola had finally managed to find the exit with just a little more guidance from him, or it would have been more correct to say that she’d found the pet store. The exit was just around the corner and, to Abaddon’s delight, there was a minimum of people hanging around this part of the mall. Could he bring his plans into action sooner than he’d anticipated?
Then a little squeal of delight broke through his thoughts. Apparently the pet store was in the process of putting puppies and kittens in their window displays. Another growl of frustration had bubbled to his throat as Niyola took off into the store, but he’d put too much of his time into this to just leave now so he followed her.
They’d probably only been in there for half an hour or less, but it felt much longer to Abaddon for having to waste energy pretending interest in the creatures. He was battling to keep his impatience and simmering anger at the snag in his plans hidden lest he ruin everything completely, but tension was building in his chest and demanding he find an outlet soon. The activity in this section had picked up while they were in the store, increasing his bad mood.
[4:47:31 PM] Jinx: ((Niyola seemed like the kind who would melt at the sight of baby animals, but if not then many sorries and I can try to edit it ;^^))
[4:57:36 PM] Yushika: (( -giggles- ))
[5:03:29 PM] Yushika: See, now, she didn't really care for dogs much. Or puppies. However, the second she saw fuffy kittens and puppies being placed within the store window any ounce of restraint left. She didn't like to say she was like most sterotypical women, but honestly who blamed anyone suggesting that when she squealed and rushed into the store?
She was thankful towards Abaddon for helping her along the way. He was kind, despite the feeling that shuddered down her spine when his eyes laid upon her. He had taken time to assist her, and while most would recoil due to just /something/ feeling off about him she didn't. Her dress fluttered as she flicked from aisle to aisle, glancing once or twice at the man with a smile. Eventually, she felt guilty for pulling him around and agreed to exiting the store.
However, there were more people and this sent a shudder of fear within her body. Once again, she disliked crowds. She disliked being alone in them. Yet, she had this kind male with her, what more could happen? Her slim frame pressed closer to him, though she didn't touch him. She wasn't the touchy feely type. Well. Maybe with Siren and Claus, but that was a different case altogether.
[5:21:57 PM] Jinx: This woman! If he found out she was doing this on purpose, she was going to pay for it. Depending on the pleasure she gave him he’d either make her last longer or play rougher than he usually did. As he debated the various methods he’d use out of the corner of his eye he spotted someone heading towards them in punk clothes. His eyes narrowed and he turned his attention to the man, but felt a stab of disappointment. It wasn’t his escapee. The tension in him finally peaked and he took advantage of the crowded conditions.
As the man started to pass them, pressed close by the crush of people, Abaddon slammed his shoulder into the man’s with satisfactory force. The man instantly turned and shouted at him to watch where he was going, face flushed red in anger. Abaddon turned to face the man, face schooled into an impassive mask. “I was watching where I was going, which is apparently more than can be said for you,” he responded coolly. The man’s face went redder; he reared back and threw a punch at Ab’s face, which Ab easily avoided with a feeling of contempt. Pitiful creature.
[5:23:35 PM] Yushika: (( Pff Ab. ))
[5:24:07 PM] Jinx: ((Ab: The human writes me poorly. She limits me.))
[5:30:15 PM] Yushika: She had not been expecting anything to happen as they walked, mostly because she hadn't seen the reasoning behind the flown fist. Pink eyes flicked, widening in shock as she spotted the fist and Ab moving gracefully away. Briefly, she considered pushing Ab aside, however he was bigger, and she was weaker. Instead, without a second thought she squirmed in between the two, arms spread out wide, legs spread to ground herself. Defiance flickered within the soft face, long lashes casting shadows as her eyes narrowed.
"Knock it off." She snapped, eyes focused on the punk. Ab had been kind to her, and she was sure that he hadn't caused this. Even if he did he had taken her around and taken time out of his day to assist her. She was not going to doubt him or allow another to be so hostile towards someone kind to her. If you were kind to her she would repay you. She was simply like that.
"He didn't mean to, and I know he didn't apologize but I will. It was an accident, okay?" Her narrowed eyes relaxed, offering a sweet smile, though her posture stayed the same. "You even tried to punch him and he didn't retiliate, doesn't that say something about his character? So please, lets not start something and continue on with our day. It's stupid to start a fight for someone accidentantly touching you."
[5:53:58 PM] Jinx: Abaddon’s red eyes widened momentarily in surprise, not so much at Niyola was defending him but at the lengths to which she was going to defend him. He’d have expected her to do no more than try to console him as they walked away. At most he’d have seen her telling the man they were sorry or some other twinkling little thing to make the man back off so they could walk away. He certainly hadn’t expected her to worm around him and confront the man like she had!
Something inside him twinged painfully, but he clamped down on the feeling before it could get very far. Ignoring the glare from the man and the stares and muttering from the people around them, Abaddon grabbed Niyola’s wrist pulled her along in his wake in the direction of the exit. He was actually being gentle about his pulling, though he attributed it to all the witnesses now staring at them. What else could it be?
He stopped as soon as they reached the glass double doors that looked out into a jungle of concrete and shiny metal. Abaddon released Niyola’s wrist, and without another word to her he went through the door and quickly disappeared into the twists and turns of the city streets.
[6:03:22 PM] Yushika: Niyola hadn't expect Ab to grab her wrist, head snapping up in alarm. She didn't squeak in fear, simply allowing the male to pull her away, though she did wave at the punk briefly. Her head snapped to view Ab as she stumbled to keep up, though she really had no choice. "Um?" Had she offended him? Was he dragging her away to simply be free of the punk? Confused as she was, she wasn't really scared, and it showed by how she only quietly tried to ask the male what was happening.
"Ab?" She only knew that name, for he never told her his full name. When he suddenly slipped her towards the exit, released her wrist, and vanished the girl was left confused, hand touching her wrist. It took her a few seconds to realized he had actually taken her to the exit. A smile crossed her face, pleased the male had kept his promise. She wanted to thank him, but he had vanished already, and so she simply glanced about and headed in the directon towards home.

Learn New Things Every Day
Status :: done ::
OOC moments :: this color text :: [6:39:42 PM] Jinx: Abaddon casually leaned against the cool brick wall, the breeze tugging on his blood-red bangs and causing the crisscrossing of chains on his pants to clink softly together. He shrugged himself further into his black jacket. The target of his observation today, as it had been for many days, was across the street, her bright blue hair visible even in the crowd. Or perhaps it would have been correct to say especially because of the crowd; the color scheme of the Halloween season was monochrome, which made anything bright pop out.
It had been a couple weeks since the mall, and in that time he’d been covertly following Niyola around town. Not that she went out much and it was almost always in the company of two very attractive men. If he hadn’t been obsessed on his target he would have been very happy to cultivate those two for his collection, but ever since his run-out at the mall he’d found the woman an annoyingly constant present in his mind. This was the first time he’d seen her alone in public since, and she was in front of a haunted house of all things. An amused smirk passed over his face before he arranged his expression into one of neutrality, straightening up away from the wall and slowly making his way across the street, eyes never leaving Niyola.
[6:51:32 PM] Yushika: Bright pink eyes and blue hair certaintly made her pop. It didn't help she was wearing a white dress with straps on the arms and legs, dressing as a clas sof angels she didn't even remember the name of. Claus had been the one to dress her, wanting to make her even more angelic looking then he constantly tried to make her. Why? Siren liked to say that he was obessed with making everything fit a genre. She was petite and pretty, therefor she'd dress as pure. Claus was attractive but had a dark appearance to him, therefor he dressed as a punk, sporting darker clothes and sharp accessories. Siren was Siren, he'd cut Claus if he tried to dress him.
Besides, it was Halloween. It was an excuse to dress her. Niyola had released the barrier between the humans eyes and her wings, allowing them to reveal themselves for all to see, not just her species. They fit well with the theme.
She looked terrified as she stood before the haunted house, hands gripping one another tightly, nails digging into soft skin. Why was she doing this? She enjoyed these things, honestly. She did like scary things, but she still was scared easily. She just liked trying these things out! Still, as she was waved inside she could swear she was going to faint. Yet, she was going to do this.
[7:12:55 PM] Jinx: As Abaddon got closer he noticed Niyola’s little wings stood out more than usual. Of course humans would think they were part of some costume, but they were a rather limited species and given to the moronic. His own were still in the separate realm that only his own kind could see. It saved from annoying questions like, “How did you make those?” and, “How are they sticking through your clothes without holes?” Most importantly it kept the worms from attempting to touch them, which always made him want to murder the offender; annoying creatures, they couldn’t keep their hands to themselves!
He caught up with Niyola at the entrance to the haunted house. “Lost again,” he asked from behind her, face close to her shoulder, injecting humor into his voice.
[7:19:52 PM] Yushika: Niyola hadn't expected Ab. Well, she hadn't expected anyone, squeaking and leaping away. It didn't help that she was in the Haunted House now and /expecting/ terror and horror. When all she saw was Ab both relief and shock crossed her face. Oh! She hadn't expected to see him /here/, or actually, ever! She wasn't expecting him, yet at the same time she was glad. She had never thanked him for before, and entering this place with another she knew was.... well... it made her happy to say the least.
"Ah, no. I meant to come here. I actually love these things, even though I get scared at the drop of a hat." She paused, heart calming from her recent scare. "Ab, right? Thank you for earlier, it was sweet of you. I never got to thank you." Her head tilted to the side, glancing around. The house was massive and dark, doors open and luring. Her mouth tightened, wings twitching and pressing against her back. "I don't suppose you're lost, either?"
[7:35:11 PM] Jinx: Abaddon mentally snorted. Why wasn’t he surprised? Actually he kind of was, not at the fact that haunted houses scared Niyola but that neither of her male friends was here with her. He could only imagine that they hadn’t known she was going to visit one; they’d seemed the overprotective types from what he’d been able to gather so far.
He arched an eyebrow and gave the door behind her a glance. “Not at all, though I can’t say that I was thinking of going into a haunted house.” There was a hint of nasty wickedness in his smile. “I don’t scare easily.” His expression smoothed into a more pleasant one. “However I don’t have anything pressing to do, if you’d like an escort I would be delighted to take you through if you don’t think I’d be a wet blanket.”
[7:46:36 PM] Yushika: That smile alarmed her, briefly. Niyola still could pick up slight signs of /something/, but it didn't bother her, again. Once again, she was the type to be trusting of those kind to her. She smiled at the offer, glancing back at the door, hesistant. "If it doesn't bother you, I wouldn't mind." She answered absently. "I would enjoy friendly company." Friendly. If only she knew! However, that was all he had been to her, and therefor that was who he was in her eyes.
"If I scream though, don't blame me."
[8:09:13 PM] Jinx: A ghost of a smirk played around Abaddon’s lips, but he was able to keep it from appearing. No one who knew him would equate him to friendly, not even the rare few who would admit to knowing him; most tended to hide from him or pretend they didn’t notice him when they saw him, but their aura of fear always gave them away. Still, it would be fair enough to say that he was treating Niyola differently. Perhaps it was because she herself was so very different from what he usually associated with. Her full-body defense of him at the mall still haunted his mind.
That didn’t mean his motives were of a kindly nature, and if anything his obsession could be counted as far worse than his cruelty since he at least grew bored and lost interest from time to time when he was being cruel. He still felt the urge to possess this woman, claim her as his, yet there was a cruel urge to test her as well as possess her. He wasn’t even sure what the test was yet.
“Of course I wouldn’t mind going with you,” he assured her in his soft, silky voice. “Though if I intimidate the actors you mustn’t blame me either.” Though he chuckled, there was a dangerous flash in his red eyes that hinted his words weren’t entirely humor.
[8:19:08 PM] Yushika: "I'm sure it would be a first, the victims turning and scaring them." She mused, though she didn't doubt he could. With this, blue hair flipped over her shoulder as she turned towards the door. Well. She might as well. In the background she could hear a shrill scream, though whether it was a person or a recording she couldn't tell. Glancing once at Ab, the woman headed for the door, fingers twitching and raising to touch the walls, as if that was enough to comfort her anxious heart. Oh, she was having fun, but already she felt like a rabbit caught in a trap, and nothing had jumped out yet!
Swallowing thickly, she slipped into the doorway, the lights of the hallway flickering on the second her foot slipped inside. The lights flickered, amping the fear. It was narrow, yet could fit two people if needed, and she believed that was the point. Her fingers curled into her palm, nails digging in. Ah, it didn't seem so bad.... the few doors seemed slightly ajar. Was she supposed to peek through? Her head tilted to peek within a door, and then suddenly the door was whipped open and a figure with the most frightening clown makeup popped out, it's own horrid scream meshing with Niyola's. The girl slammed into the wall, frantically covering her face with her hands.
OKAY. This was a /horrible/ idea!!
[8:34:40 PM] Jinx: Abaddon followed along beside and slightly behind Niyola, watching her and letting her take the lead. He rolled his eyes at the flickering lights and felt nothing but contempt when he saw the open doors. It was like this place wasn’t even trying to be subtle, doors were such a giveaway when the path that they were supposed to take was clearly ahead of them. Of course that was probably why haunted houses never worked for him. People had a kind of natural curiosity and even desire to be scared that he seemed to lack. If Niyola’s going to actually look into the open door was any indicator, she had that sense in full force. It almost made him want to roll his eyes again.
The clown popping through the door was no surprise to him, though for being on cue the scream was alright. Niyola’s reaction was also expected, though a tad more extreme. What he hadn’t expected was the surge of anger that flooded through him, directed at the clown. Anger was a familiar emotion, it occurred on a near daily basis, but he hadn’t suspected it would make an appearance here. If anything he would have thought to experience satisfaction and mild approval. Instead he was glaring daggers at the costumed human, red eyes glowing gently in the darkened room, and moving forward to stand as a wall separating the human from Niyola.
The human didn’t linger, quickly ducking back inside his room. Abaddon turned his head and glanced at Niyola, still huddled against the wall. “You still want to do this,” he asked, quirking an eyebrow at her. He couldn’t imagine how she would make it through the whole building if she was so easily scared.
[8:37:24 PM] Yushika: (( Is it bad that I was grinning when I read Ab's reaction? ))
[8:38:11 PM] Jinx: ((XD Nope, I was kinda amused. His general contempt and rage mixed with other feelings are amusing when it isn't scary.))
[8:38:55 PM] Yushika: (( You can also control scary events, too~ -goes to type response- ))
[8:45:21 PM] Yushika: Niyola hadn't expected the male to stand before her as a barrier, the smaller girls arms drawing against her chest as her head raised. Her heart calmed, the larger males presence dominating the humans. Yes, he was bigger, and yes, she had spotted that glower and felt the anger that warped around him, yet it only served to remind her that he was, once again, helping her. When he turned she looked up at him, forced to due to his height. Pink eyes flicked as she glanced from eye to eye, smiling nervously.
"Ah. If I don't have a heart attack... Maybe you should choose where we go next." She was also slightly worried her wind element would fly out of control and knock a human into a wall. That or break the house. She bit her bottom lip, frowning defiantly at Ab. "I'm not /that/ much of a baby.... Did you see his face? He was horrid!"
[9:12:05 PM] Jinx: Abaddon didn’t look concerned. He sent a brief glance over his shoulder at the door, contempt for the human behind it flickering over his face with lightning speed. “It’s all an application of cosmetics and the value of startling someone.” His wings, already difficult to see in this world, were mere flickering shadows on his back as he shrugged carelessly. “I don’t startle easily.” That wasn’t all of it of course, but he didn’t admit any of the rest aloud or it might startle his prey into seeing the wolf for what it was. Abaddon wasn’t worried about surface appearances. He himself had a lovely outer layer, but if anyone could see into his soul it would probably make that clown makeup seem delightful in comparison.
Still, this presented an opportunity in way. Time to test his self-control and see if he still had anything left. “If you insist though,” he said, and carefully peeled Niyola away from the wall to stand in front of him, hands circling her wrists and standing close behind her. “You still get to be in the front though, so I don’t lose you to a monster coming up from behind,” he said, bending down a little to speak in her ear, a hint of humor twisting up the corners of his mouth. He gave Niyola a gentle push and started them walking forward again, continuing down the path the house had built. It was very tempting in the darkened building to find a corner to pull her into; screaming in a haunted house, who would notice? Part of him resisted that urge though, reminding him that instant gratification wasn’t in the vague plans he had for her.
The next scare they came upon was better hidden, but still completely obvious to Abaddon. He didn’t see how anyone couldn’t spot these things, unless it was just a willful stubbornness to not see. So as the corridor changed patterns and they drew level to a particularly messy and geometrical bit, one of the squares suddenly dropping open its hidden panel so a pale-skinned, gore-bedecked actor could lean out and reach for them, shouting, didn’t faze him in the slightest. His grip on Niyola’s wrists just tightened a little and he found himself pulling her slightly away from the man at an angle so his arm was like a shield.
[9:14:05 PM] Jinx: ((You know, if his motives weren't so possessive and in self-interest, this could almost be cute XD))
[9:14:20 PM] Yushika: (( I was just at the part where he touched her wrists and was like "Dawwww. Abby." ))
[9:15:07 PM] Jinx: ((Ab: Call me that again and I /will/ kill you...))
[9:15:48 PM] Yushika: (( A~b~b~y. And if you do Niyola vanishes and your new prey is gone. ))
[9:17:20 PM] Jinx: ((Ab: She won't. She goes to my human if you vanish, just like you said *smirks*))
[9:19:15 PM] Jinx: ((Which reminds me... *goes to update her Modi will*))
[9:22:04 PM] Yushika: Even so, with his definition she still found it scary, cosmetics or not. She couldn't help it, honestly. Wasn't that the point though, to allow herself to be scared? To allow the idea of fright to pop into her head? Well, even if she wasn't here she was sure that'd she would end up absolutely terrified. She frowned at Ab, about to call him a grump for not even allowing the scares to poke at him when instead he slipped behind her, his hands touching her wrists. Her head tilted back, unsure what to make of this. Suddenly, a low laugh escaped her, wings fluttering.
"Or are you using me to protect yourself?" She cooed playfully. If only Siren and Claus saw this. They'd be horrified. She was usually so emotionless with anyone other than them. She allowed him to push her forward, though he did meet some resistance at first, eventually giving in. She seemed to relax as they continued walking, until the hidden panel poked out.
Another screech, but it was calmed as hands gripped her wrist tighter and she was angled away. Yet, it seemed the house predicted this, for Ab had angled her right into another hidden panel behind a painting, well hidden until it split open and another human dressed as a gory zombie groaned loudly, making moves for the two. Niyola would have wrenched away from Ab had he not been stronger, instead choosing to suddenly drop her weight and fall onto her knees, ducking opened hands that had made a move for her. Ah, it seemed she did have some quick reflexes if provoked enough.
[9:48:40 PM] Jinx: Abaddon felt a stab of exasperation at Niyola mingled with a strong urge to reach out and swat at the human dressed in the zombie outfit, and that was only because he was sure that if he killed the human it wouldn’t actually reanimate like the being it was dressed as. Though with that in mind even swatting him might be a bad idea; he was a lot stronger than he looked, which was already pretty strong. But back to his exasperation. Seriously, who just dropped down like that and put their attacker in a superior position? The urge to sigh and growl at the same time presented itself to him; he went with a quiet rumbling deep in his chest as he hauled Niyola to her feet, then right off her feet and into his arms, walking past the moaning human as though it wasn’t even there. It (he couldn’t tell the gender, and didn’t care either) stumbled after them for a few feet before returning back to its compartment.
Abaddon frowned down at the blue head resting where his shoulder, chest, and neck met. “Don’t do that again,” he growled softly, wondering if he should set her down or just keep her in his arms. After a moment of hesitation he set her feet on the ground. “Falling to the ground only limits your movements and gives the other a better vantage.” He brushed his bangs out of his eyes, still trying to compose his expression. “If they scare you, just keep telling yourself they aren’t allowed to hurt you,” he said, more or less pin-pointing exactly why haunted houses didn’t scare him aside from his high startlement threshold.
[9:49:38 PM] Yushika: (( Ab. I love you. ))
[9:50:24 PM] Jinx: ((Ab: My human says take that love and tag a roleplay. Whatever that means. *doesn't care at all*))
[9:57:39 PM] Yushika: The lift startled her, thought her mouth stayed firmly shut, refusing to allow a squeak to appear. Her arms also stayed off Ab's neck, unlike what they wanted to do. She didn't mind being lifted, though when he set her down she made sure not to fall. Her eyes narrowed briefly, catching his frown from earlier. Her wings twitched, nodding at the male. "Alright." She simply responded with, head jerking to the side to glance around.
Scare her bad enough and she'd show her strength... Frowning at the darkness ahead of them, she glanced back at Ab, lips tight. "Though, even on the ground I think I'd have the advantage." She mumbled back quietly. Her wind was always enough to protect her, and if she crouched she could avoid any backlash if she aimed it high. Or, she could also aim the wind at feet and knock another over. Ab and her had different styles of defense, but she wasn't about to explain either her wind or that to him. With a cautious smile that still teetered on nervous from before, she turned and headed ahead.
[9:57:44 PM] Yushika: (( Yes sir. ))
[10:13:23 PM] Jinx: Abaddon felt an irrational surge of irritation, irrational because he didn’t know why on earth he was even irritated in the first place! He shoved the emotion to the back of his mind to simmer and see if anything useful floated to the top, but for now it was only a distraction.
The next scene they came across was an actor behind bars in a little cell, rocking back and forth muttering to herself and looking distinctly disheveled. As soon as she spotted them she began crawling around, reaching out towards them and calling out nonsense every bit as useless as his emotions. Niyola didn’t seem as scared as she was of the previous acts, but this woman was seen ahead of times and couldn’t reach you.
They continued forward as the woman continued shouting after them, her singsong voice growing fainter as they rounded a corner and approached the next doorway. It looked like a green glowing tunnel that spun around, with a railed walkway going through the tunnel. Optical illusion meant to disorient, how boring.
There was a change in the singsong chanting of the woman’s voice behind him. It was steadily growing louder and louder, not like she was raising her voice but like she was getting closer. Wonderful, someone let the animal out of her cage.
[10:29:17 PM] Yushika: Now, Ab was correct. Niyola was not afraid at first. She viewed the cage and tossed her head up, proud she was not afraid, hand flicking up fixing her straps briefly. She slipped past the room easily enough, though the spiraled room made her spine twitch. She tensed as they walked, hands slipping against the walls briefly for support. The sound of a singing voice reminded her of the women in the cage, and suddenly, with a flourish of fear, she realized the woman was coming after them.
For a second it was clear she was panicking, her back twitching as her chest allowed frightened breaths. However, suddenly, it seemed to stop as she was reminded of what Ab had told her earlier. Perhaps for once she could actually accomplish this event. They couldn't hurt her. They wouldn't hurt her, and that was enough to send her pounding heart into a calm thump. She glanced back at Ab, not only proving she took directon well, but also making it clear she wasn't about to cling to him and sob in fear. Not /this/ time.
"At the end of the tunnel is a fork. Right or left?"
[10:41:44 PM] Jinx: Two directions? Normally haunted houses were single track to guide you through the set-ups. He hadn’t thought this place was bit enough to offer options. “Right,” he said simply, as the annoying singsong came up right behind him. Abaddon gritted his teeth in annoyance as the actress swarmed around him, pawing at him. As far as he was aware rules used to be you couldn’t touch customers, but nowadays it seemed that as long as the actors didn’t hurt anyone it upped the scare factor to press against the customer.
He began pressing towards the spinning room, hoping the actress wouldn’t follow them into that and would go back to her cage.
[10:49:19 PM] Yushika: With this she nodded, content and heading forwards. The actress touching Ab caused a worried smile to plaster itself on her face. If the other could touch then they could go further in their attempts to frighten others. When was touching allowed? She suddenly found herself wishing to continue further, and faster, to avoid this actress. The act of touching truly bothered her, for that would send the women into a tizzy if someone did such a thing to her, unless it was her strong companion. Even then, would he to do it when she wasn't suspecting she'd panic.
So, she headed towards the end of the tunnel, relieved nothing was jumping out. Though, was that only because something worse would be ahead and this was an attempt to calm the victims before throwing fear at their face? She truly hoped not, she much rather be constantly afraid then to have those moments of false security. She moved to take the right fork, briefly checking to see if Ab was with her.
[11:03:17 PM] Jinx: Abaddon was relieved that the actress did indeed turn around and go back to station when he followed Niyola into the tunnel. The whole thing spinning and the odd lighting was designed to throw off balance, but that was fixed by just closing his eyes, using the rails to guide him. The whole way he was thinking what a waste of time this was. This was what humans considered scary or a good time? No wonder the whole race was so flawed. At least the tunnel was short so he didn’t have to endure it that long.
He paused before the tunnels and met Niyola’s gaze. A mischievous smile twitched on his features and he gave a mocking bow, sweeping his arm forward in a “ladies first” gesture.
[11:19:48 PM] Yushika: She offered Abaddon a frown as he bowed before her and swept his arms, head tilting to the side as she rolled her eyes. "I'm not a shield." She whispered, but it was all in good fun, a smirk on her face as she slipped past him. She entered the room, slightly frozen in place briefly. /She couldn't see at all/. At least not yet, except for the end of the room which seemed to glow around the shut doors edges. Was this the outside? Was past the door the outside world? That was enough to have the girl inch forward into the dark room.
Then she heard the movement within the darkness, freezing. Breathing. Ah. She did not enjoy this. A dark room with movement and a door she swore would be the outside world, this was too cruel.
[11:38:48 PM] Jinx: “With your size and tendency to fall to the ground, I doubt I’d find you much use as a shield,” he muttered back. “Let’s call this chivalry and the fact that going in this place was your idea, so you get the experiences.” He wasn’t sure how much she heard since he was speaking quietly and she was moving around for some of it, but he didn’t particularly care if she had. He followed behind her into the room. Ah, now this he approved of far more than anything he’d seen in this building so far. Darkness was a very good intimidator, because it allowed the imagination to run wild and turn one’s self into their own worst enemy. It didn’t scare him at all of course, but that’s because none of his fears came from others. The glowing of his red eyes was even more pronounced in this dark room, the sight making him seem more bestial than his pretty face let show through.
He also spotted the outline of the door ahead and swung his head around, trying to get hints of the room from the little light available. He doubted an actor could move around in this darkness so if something did pop out at them it would most likely be a machine. He didn’t fancy stumbling around in the darkness and stepping on something, though hopefully those fool humans had thought of that and set the room up accordingly. Next to him he could hear the quickened, fearful breathing of Niyola. He debated reaching out to her, but in this darkened room that would probably only make things worse. Only one way to really get through this.
Without hesitation he started across the room, figuring he could get to the door and open it and let in a bit more light, so Niyola knew what she was walking through. Halfway across he must have passed a motion sensor of some kind. Instantly the room began to echo with wailing sounds and beastly growls, dragging noises and a variety of sound effects. There must have been dozens of recorders in the room. Abaddon screwed his face up against the deafening din and finally made it to the door, throwing it open and letting in the watery orange light of street lamps.
And, naturally, the loud and very obvious sound of a chainsaw. Abaddon almost groaned at the tackiness of it as a masked man in worker coveralls jumped out of a niche and came scuttling towards him, flailing a chainsaw in his direction.
[11:39:35 PM] Yushika: (( And this is where the house goes kaboom ))
[11:40:08 PM] Jinx: ((XD Kaboom? Oh goody...))
[11/18/2012 11:52:19 PM] Yushika: Now. When you put an already jumpy girl in a room of darkness, wailing, screaming, and then the door is opened to reveal a chain saw maniac it either goes two ways. They freak the hell out, or they have some power and use that to defend themselves. So, try and figure out what happens next.
First, she fell to her knees, covering her ears at the loud sounds that bombarded her. She did not do well with lacking sight AND sound. However, pink eyes widened and fluttered upwards once the sound of chainsaws reached her. She locked her eyes on the sight of Ab and the man, and without even a moment to understand the mixture of fear and raw anger an explosion erupted. The room shuddered as wind ripped apart the walls and ceiling. Somehow, during her panic she managed to weave the wind around Ab and avoid hitting him as it was sent towards the chainsaw man, knocking him off his feet and thrown backwards. A faint shimmer appeared around her as the ceiling caved and she vanished under it.
However, as dust settled and the remainds of the ceiling seemed to find their places the sound of movement could be heard. Pieces of the floor seemed to be hovering around the area she resided, and it could be seen she managed to protect herself from the falling ceiling. Pink eyes blinked blearily as she rubbed dust from her eyes, and suddenly she was in another whirlwind of motion, standing and rushing past Ab and into the street. It was clear this wasn't the first time this had happened, and she was about to flee the scene before humans flocked. Briefly, she turned around, glanced at Ab, and tugged on his hand. "You should leave here before humans come, or the man wakes back up."
[12:12:14 AM] Jinx: As Abaddon looked around him a lot of thoughts went through his head. The first was he was glad he’d listened to that little voice that insisted he plot around Niyola rather than just take her like he normally did with something he liked. That was probably why that little voice in his head had been pestering him, some instinct in him recognizing the power in her even as he wasn’t consciously aware of it until this moment. It was a simple answer, in any case, and made the most sense.
He wasn’t quite sure what that power was. Wind, it seemed, but how did that work? Daevas were traditionally manipulators of fire, so perhaps there were creatures out there in tune with other elements. He curious reached a hand out to the barrier that seemed to surround him, but at the last second stopped his fingers from touching it. No telling what it could do to him when he wasn’t yet sure how it was made.
Another thought was that the humans were probably going to be very puzzled and a bit upset when they saw the remains of their building. Also, that human with the chainsaw was probably glad it was the harmless kind with no blade.
Finally the winds died down and the only sounds were the falling and settling of rubble. About the time the screaming began and before he could move there was a shifting of the pile in the roof and Niyola emerged, unharmed and unruffled by the sudden demolition. That cinched it for him that it was her doing and not something the humans had done that had gone wrong. He didn’t need Niyola’s warming either; element manipulation of any kind tended to excite the simple-minded humans.
This time he didn’t bother pulling her along, just picked her up and got out of there. It might have been for the best since he knew the city better and his longer legs helped him clear the rubble quickly. In situations like this, the sooner one got out of there the better. He ducked into the first alleyway he saw. It was one of those kinds that connected two streets; the other end seemed to lead to a section of small businesses. He only went halfway down the alley before stopping and setting Niyola back on the ground, then stepped back and leaned against the brick wall with his arms crossed. “What the heck was that,” he asked, expression a careful neutral.
[12:24:38 AM] Yushika: She was almost relieved he lifted her, she wasn't sure if she could run due to the intense emotions that had sent her body shuddering. The sounds of angry humans faded as he got her away from the situation, her arms drawing into her chest as she allowed the other to remove them both from the area. Her head rested against his chest until he slid into an alley way, set down and moving to the nearest wall possible, on the other side of Ab. Resting her body aganst it, her own arms folded, hands touching the opposite arm nervously as she glanced away. Her fingers toyed with the straps on her arms as she heard his question, eyes flicking to glance at him.
"Wind." Was all she first managed to say, head finally turning to view him more. "Wind manipulation. I can use wind and air. My mother was able to, but not as much as I can. I.... it's rare, I suppose. My friends can use flames and electricity. Though, the flame wielder can use it better than any 'Daeva can, and they both have the same complete control I do." She cast a smile upon her face. multi-colored nails scrapping along her arms.
[12:37:45 AM] Jinx: Abaddon considered that information. He had his doubts about anyone other than a Daeva being able to properly control flame; it was as much a part of their being as their wings. Same went for manipulation, though he might concede that there could be others with a greater scope of manipulation since Daevas couldn’t move the flames away from their bodies. That was a philosophical argument though, and not something he felt like getting in to.
“Okay, so help me understand something,” he said, voice as neutral as his expression. “Why would a girl with the ability to flatten a building in under a minute, who’s easily scared, willingly walk into a haunted house?” That certainly would have been something useful to know beforehand; he would die one day, but he would like it if death didn’t come to him in the form of a building falling on top of him.
[12:41:34 AM] Yushika: "Because I don't usually do that." She answered back, head shaking. "The last time I did was when Sir- When my friend was in danger. I didn't think I'd stumble upon you, and I never thought you'd be in danger because.... you're strong?" A frown was offered on the pale face, mouth tightening once more. "But, the noises and darkness made it hard to concetrate, and then someone was coming at you with a weapon.... I usually have much more control." Pale hands reached up to brush hair from her eyes, frowning at the man once more. Gently, she pushed off the wall, coming just a bit closer to Ab.
"If you're worried I'd hurt you I won't. I don't use it to harm others. I was frightened he'd hurt you, that was it. I... Didn't /mean/ to break the building."
[12:52:08 AM] Jinx: Abaddon sighed and brought a hand up, eyes closed and rubbing his forehead. He thought about explaining to her how the whole chainsaw scare was a tacky trick seen in just about every haunted house ever made, but figured it wouldn’t do any good and there wasn’t much point to it. Instead, all he said was, “I wasn’t in danger. That man couldn’t have hurt me even if that’s what he was going for. I doubt that thing even had blades on it.”
The sound of sirens reached his ears. Abaddon raised his head from his hand and looked towards the mouth of the alley closest to the haunted house, where crowds were already starting to form up. “We should probably clear out of here,” he said quietly, then turned and looked at Niyola with an eyebrow raised in silent inquiry.
[12:58:28 AM] Yushika: "I realized that only /after/. I wasn't exactly thinking other than: Oh there's a violent weapon going at Ab's face." Was that slight sarcasim? Was she even able to do that. However, at the mention of leaving she extended her hand, head tilting to the side as blue hair cascading off her shoulders. "My home is nearby. I know how to get there. You don't need to come inside if you don't wish to, but it's away from here. And, you'd be rid of me if you choose to simply leave once we get there."
What if the place had cameras? That wasn't good. Her kind had strict laws on now exposing yourself to the humans, not only would the humans be frightened, but her own species would be furious. Though, she probably destroyed any cameras in the area able to film the scene....
[1:05:33 AM] Jinx: Abaddon looked at the offered hand and considered it for a moment. Finally he shrugged away from the wall and carefully took it, unused to being led around. Still, it would look less suspicious walking away from the scene of an accident if it looked like he was with his girlfriend or something rather than walking on his own. “I’ll probably clear off as soon as we get away from the area,” he said. Once they were out of sight of the crowd and at least a couple blocks away he should be able to manage without attracting attention.
[10:47:48 PM] Yushika: As he took her hand a hesistant smile crossed her face, nodding. Carefully, she lead him away, slipping through alleys and streets quietly, quickly. She stopped before she reached her street, assuming this would be where he ran off. Her hand released his, multi-colored nails dragging across his palm gently, accidentantly. Large eyes raised to view him, the smallest of smiles on her face. "Ah, thank you. For coming into the house with me, even if I /did/ blow it up." Her smile faded slowly, as if she realized that perhaps that wasn't a laughing matter, stepping back. With this, her eyes flicked up, head lowered. "Ah, goodnight, Ab." With this, the blue-haired girl turned and headed down her street.
[10:55:51 PM] Jinx: Abaddon stayed with Niyola a street or two longer than he would have chosen, but since it was all taking him further away from the chaos and happened to at least be in a convenient direction, he didn’t mind much. As long as he took off before they reached her street, since the last thing he wanted was those two over-protective males to spot him and come out to interrogate him; he was sure that they would instantly spot his true nature, unlike the naïve Niyola. He was cockily confident he could handle them, flame and electricity or not, but such a battle would be costly in terms of energy and the humans would probably notice something off since they weren’t /that/ dim, not to mention all his efforts so far would be a complete waste.
He nodded in response to her farewell and took for a minute, luminous red eyes following her as she went down the street, before turning and rapidly vanishing into the dark night. He was going to have to think about what he had learned and plan his next move very carefully…

Okay, so I have the feeling their backstory is going to involve lots of small moments together. A lot of hanging out things, almost like dates, while Ab continues trying to snare Niyola without alerting her to his brutal nature until he is sure he has her, esp since he knows about her powers now. I don't think names were mentioned but he knows about her roommates. He'll avoid Siren and Claus at all costs, though I see this making them somewhat suspious after a point.
What I'm trying to picture is how their turning point comes about. I mean I do have an idea about how....
Okay, now this is totally random and only a flash thought, so it might not work at all or anything. Now in my head their turning point would also have to have emotion. Something would have to happen to prove to Ab that Niyola won't betray him in the end, cause that's why he's screwed up to the level he is. Like she has to see that there is a bad person in there, but even knowing that won't cause her to turn on him. So. My flash thought involved Feuer. You can probably guess what my next thought was. I mean I don't know how deep her anger towards Cat's dad would be, but I don't see her ever forgiving him. You can tell they're related, and perhaps Feuer could have spotted him that same day Cat saw him so she'd know what he looks like. And one day sees him. Goes to confront him. Things go really wrong. We already established that even with flames Feuer can reach a temperature that the Daevas can't, so if she meant to she could burn them. I don't know if Feuer would approach him with the intent to hurt him or they argue and it just escalates to that point, but either way she loses her temper. I don't know if you want Niyola to get involved and save him or if we have him escape somehow or even if Siren and Claus somehow get involved along with Niyola. Either way he doesn't die, but is severely burned and needs help. Like if Ab had help escaping he could be hurt to the point where he passes out and wakes up in Niyola's house or something and she insists on taking care of him.
Ab would try to get away. I'm not sure what his exact thoughts would be, cause I have to picture this scene in more detail and gotta get input/approval from you before details start showing up. But like Niyola might wonder what was up with Feuer and Ab would tell her he deserved it and would tell Niyola why he got hurt in attempt to disgust her and kind of chase her away. (Again, working on specific reasons why he would want to chase her off.) Not sure what Niyola's reaction would be, and that's where I stopped the scenario. [8:53:16 PM] Yushika: Okay so. Feuer would be seething angry and probably try and hurt Ab after learning what he did to Cat. So that is plausible. I can see Ab getting hurt pretty badly, and then Niyola enters (maybe because she was nearby and getting something) and sees what is happening, using her wind to send Feuer flying back (and potentially making it cold, so this may hurt Feuer in the long run and Cat may need to nurse her back to health). Niyola drabs Ab to her places, he tries to get away (but is hurt). Eventually, maybe he can't leave the bed much but snaps, trying to shove her away by admitting what he's done to Cat, and Niyola, being that emotionally broken and probably not completely normal in the head simply nods gravely and accepts him. As we've discussed, Niyola just…. won't judge him. There's something wrong with her. He can tell her anything and she'd nod and accept. As long as he never hurt her she's fine. He's never tried anything bad to her, and by that time I'm sure if he did she'd assume it was him pushing away. He has her complete loyalty, and while it's odd and she must be broken in some way to accept a monster like him, it'll be apparent by then that she /just doesn't care/. [8:57:19 PM] Jinx: -mulling over specifics in Ab's brain- Would Claus and/or Siren hunt Ab down out of concern for Niyola, just to see what he's like and all, or would they pretty much leave it be even if they'd never met him before? [8:57:49 PM] Yushika: Siren would hunt, and he'd drag his fiancee. [8:57:56 PM] Yushika: Claus = easy to throw off. [8:58:01 PM] Yushika: Siren will need to convincing [9:02:36 PM] Jinx: Cause I picture them managing to hunt him down and sitting for a "talk", seeing that darkness in him, and more or less warn him off Niyola. I'm trying to picture a specific conversation, or as close to specific as I can get. Like maybe they (or just Siren) says he's not good enough for Niyola or is just going to get her hurt. Just says something that really gets Ab to think and wonder if it would be better to leave Niyola be. Because at this point he will care a bit more about her personally and it'll kind of bug him how much he thinks about her cause he still doesn't want to have anyone close to him yet and Niyola just makes it so easy. Feuer attacking him would kind of cement it that something bad could happen to Niyola cause he's hurt a lot of people [9:03:41 PM] Yushika: Yessss. [9:05:06 PM] Jinx: I feel like I should type out what he'd actually say in attempt to chase Niyola off, cause that feels like the most important part of the whole thing. Think it would help or good with the story we have? [9:05:19 PM] Yushika: It would help, and I can say what Niyola would do [9:06:02 PM] Jinx: Okay, give me a sec [9:07:01 PM] Yushika: Oki [9:36:55 PM] Jinx: Abaddon hissed in a combination of pain and frustration. He needed Niyola to let him go. He couldn't leave otherwise, not in his state and with her powers. He had seen the control she had, and knew there were easily several ways for her to keep him here without even having to hold him down. It was a shame those annoying males weren't here now. Perhaps they could have helped him. He wanted to leave, they wanted him to leave. He didn't know the scope of their own strengths, but surely Niyola couldn't have stood against all of them. But it was a moot point, for wherever they were they clearly were nowhere close enough to be of any help.
He thought of follows from the past, people whose names and faces he had all but erased from his mind. They had left because they did not appreciate him for what he did, thought that everything he had done to help them had been a misuse of power. He didn't care that he might have hurt others, not as long as his own folks flourished, but he had come to learn that few thought that way. Indeed, he had used it to his advantage multiple times in the past. It was easy to break someone when you threatened to harm something they loved. That he could do this, this was the "darkness" inside of him. He had tried to hide it before, but now if he could show Niyola once and for all the darkness inside of him, she would let go. She might fling him from the house with her own hand, but that hardly mattered.
"I deserved this, you know," he said gesturing to the wounds hidden by the clean white linen bandages Niyola had insisted upon wrapping around him. "You, you have no idea what I am or the things I have done. I have tortured and raped simply for the pleasure of it. I enjoyed it. I have killed simply because someone stood in my way. I regret nothing I have done. The woman who did this to me-," he paused and pressed against the worst of the burns. His flesh cried out in agony, but he refused to show any pain on his face. "She did this because she knows my daughter. I raised that child to fear me. I carved the meaning of true pain into her flesh and made sure that defiance would never cross her mind. I broke her mind in so many ways I'm surprised she could muster the courage to run from me. Because if I had caught her I would have punished her severely." He narrowed his eyes, all but hissing out his words, trying to muster as much anger and venom as he could. "Don't you get it, you silly woman? I am a demon who walks the earth and I leave nightmares in my wake. Countless curse my name and wish death upon me for the things I have done to them and those they care about. You think you can cover that with a bandage and it will all go away? There's not enough linen in the world to fix the things I have done. You and everything you love and care about, none of that will be safe around me!"
Ab did not try to sit up since struggling would only take away from the impression he was trying to make. He spoke truthfully of all the things he had kept hidden, looked at Niyola with his glowing red eyes and made sure she saw that he had not lied when he said he held no regret. He dropped every mask he had ever held around her, because for once it was crucial that she understood just what it was she was trying to nurse back to health. [9:38:20 PM] Yushika: Man oh man lemme type a response. [9:45:55 PM] Yushika: Niyola watched him, eyes flicking across his bandaged form. Pink eyes flicked up as he ranted, unblinking as his voice raised and red eyes stared her down. Quietly, her slender hands raised, fixing a bandage that had fallen briefly from her messy job. She had never been the best at wrapping, but the bandages had been put on with love. She had worked hard to help the male who, while he spoke of terrors and horrors, had done nothing but protect her. Her head shook, fingers clenching around his wrist as if, somehow, her petite hand could hold his larger frame still.
"I know." She whispered, her already soft voice barely audible as pink eyes stared up into his. "I know what you've done." She added, soft hair curling around her cheeks. She gently lowered her head onto his hand, nuzzling into it gently. "I know what others think of you. But why do I have to be grouped with them?" She whispered, tiny fingers clenching tighter around his wrist. "You've been kind to me, in your way. You say I'm not safe, but you say these things to me in hopes I'd flee to protect me, right? Otherwise, if I was anyone else, if I was in your way you'd rid of me in another way. But, instead you use your words. You don't hurt me. You try and convince me this isn't what I want."
Pink eyes flicked back up to view his, her head slightly shifting so she could look at him properly. "You've never hurt me. You won't hurt me. You've helped me and taken care of me. Why can't I return the favor? Why must you push me away when I've always known exactly what you are? It's never stopped me. It's never changed the fact I enjoy being around you." This had been the most she had ever spoken at once, her eyes narrowing tightly as she looked almost desperate. "I like being around you, whether or not you've hurt others. You've never hurt me." He fought to control his breathing, to pretend like Niyola's words had no effect on him. Even his hand remained limp as she pressed against him with her delicate fingers, not moving even when she brought her head down to brush against it. Part of him wanted to argue back, but that part was temporarily overwhelmed by the sheer acceptance in her voice. There was no holding back, no hesitation at all. She truly meant every word she said.
"How can you know," he said, trying to keep his tone harsh and his voice from quavering. It was through sheer willpower, hardened and honed over the course of his life, that he was able to keep his body from trembling, but he could not help the muscles in his arms and legs from clenching, as though ready to run or fight at a moment's notice. Though his burns protested he didn't even register the pain. "How can you know anything of my past and the things I have done. Shall I get more specific? That can never be erased, no matter how much you think you're able to accept it. You'll realize it soon enough. You'll see the monster that preys on the innocent for its own gain. You think you can handle that? No one has before. These burns on my body won't scar nearly enough to make up for all the sins I have committed." [10:02:57 PM] Jinx: (( HE'S STILL FIGHTIN' IT, BUT YOU GOT HIM ON THE ROPES NIYOLA! )) [10:09:05 PM] Yushika: Niyola watched him, unwavering. His head turned away, but, without fear, her free hand raised and tapped his chin, attempting to move it back to view her. "Then tell me." She stated back, whispery voice as firm as she could possibly make it, even if it was basically still faint and quiet. Her eyes locked on his, mouth tensing slightly as it seemed panic ran over her, hand tightening against his wrist. "If you tell me everything will you stay? Will you stop trying to run away? Will you stay put and be here when I wake up?" [10:12:12 PM] Jinx: http://cdn.crushable.com/files/2012/08/right-in-the-feels.gif [10:12:22 PM] Jinx: (( TOO MANY FEELS TWIN. TOO MANY. )) [10:12:32 PM] Yushika: (( I DON'T TRY )) [10:29:15 PM] Jinx: Abaddon couldn't find the words to respond. So many thoughts ran through his head, the stories he would have told Niyola to chase her away. Those he had manipulated so thoroughly that they were broken. Those he had made to crave pain and come to depend on him, and then had been tossed away. Those he had attacked, raped, killed. Those whose very beings would never be free from nightmares. Men and women, so many that he had even bothered keeping count. All those words he could have said...
But didn't. Because none of it would chase this woman away. Nothing he could tell her would convince her to go, and the only thing he could do was something he refused to even consider. He was silent for a long time, just staring into those pink eyes, lost in them and everything they offered. He thought he had been chasing her. Maybe he had; he chased her so hard that /she/ had caught /him/. Unable to work a single syllable past his throat, he did the only thing he could. His wings had escaped relatively unscathed and were one of the few things that didn't hurt to move. They were neatly spread out next to him so he didn't crush them. Moving slowly so he didn't wallop himself or the woman leaning over him, he gently folded his wings over until his and Niyola's upper torsos were enveloped in an inky twilight. [10:34:40 PM] Yushika: Niyola twitched as his wings raised, only because she was unsure if they were injured. Her mouth opened, about to tell him to rest his wings until they curled around her torso. That was all she needed before she nuzzled into his side, trying to be as gentle as she could against his wounds. He had stopped fighting back, which meant what, exactly? Did he accept her? Did he accept that she choose him? Her hands curled into loose fists as she rested them against his torso, sighing gently.
"Can I stay here?" [10:41:40 PM] Jinx: "Stay as long as you like," he responded. Maybe he was getting old, or the wounds were worse than he thought. The fight had drained out of him so much faster than he would have imagined. Niyola just didn't play fair at all. Or perhaps those were only excuses, excuses he needed to tell himself until he was completely ready to accept everything that was being offered. He made sure to place his wings so that they would not crush either of them and let them rest as he slowly drifted away from the land of consciousness, giving his body the rest it needed to recover, all the while aware of the gentle warmth at his side. [10:46:54 PM] Yushika: Humming gently, the female curled her legs up against her chest and allowed herself to doze off, happy to just be allowed to rest against him. She just hoped when she woke he'd still be there, that no more urgent attempts to push her away were spilled. She just wanted to stay by his side, perhaps even hold that hand that refused to accept her as anything else. Perhaps….. but maybe she should takes things slower....
